Hockey club "Meteor" was founded in 2004. Founders: Dmitry Zhiravov, Stanislav Voronin and Vasily Kornev - friends who created the hockey club, are ardent fans of the USSR National Team, Russian National Team, CSKA, Traktor and Avtomobilist, passionately love hockey, try to play hockey whenever possible and convince their friends by personal example join a game of hockey.

Because The founders of the club worked in the energy sector for many years; the club had to get a name that embodies power, energy, and dynamics. But at the same time, the name of the team had to reflect its commitment to the Soviet, Russian style of hockey. Why Meteor? Everyone remembers their favorite childhood cartoons “Puck-Puck” and “Revenge Match”. This is the most powerful, often the first, childhood impression of hockey, which forever instills a love for hockey. The name “Meteor” most accurately conveys the mood and essence of hockey, which everyone loves, this is: virtuoso skill, enthusiasm, prowess, sporting (in a good way) anger and (also in a good way) arrogance, faith in oneself and in the strength of the team, and also: dynamics, power, speed. And, at the same time, we remind you that hockey is, after all, just a game. The sketch of the team logo was created by Vasily Kornev, which was then slightly modified by a professional artist.

And the training began. Akulinin I.I. became the first coach of the team for many years. Much later, the coaching bridge was headed by Efimov I.G., Kuznetsov Yu.V., and then Andreev A.F.

In December 2005, the team won the New Year's tournament at Katka.Ru. In February 2006, the team took part in the most famous amateur tournament - the Challenge Cup (Odintsovo).

The 2007-2008 season entered with two teams that had to fight in different divisions of the Moscow amateur/veteran leagues. The club now has a website www.hcmeteor.ru and a YouTube channel. In the 2007-2008 season, the club won its first three cups in various tournaments. The success of the club inspired other friends to create teams within the club: Meteor-MTK and Meteor.RU. The 2008-2009 season already included three teams, which, mostly successfully, performed in various divisions of various amateur leagues. Subsequently, right up to the present time, growth and expansion continued - there were more and more Meteors. The club's teams won a huge number of titles and awards. But of all the Meteors, only Meteor-MTK competed in the Night Hockey League, and they also performed successfully!

The club's fans are now all over the world! The Meteor jersey can be found as an heirloom, decoration or favorite item at the ski slopes, hockey shops, sports bars, World Hockey Championships, and other venues and events anywhere in the world. The most exotic case: a Meteor hockey jersey was spotted on the beach in... South Africa. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that permission to use the club logo as an emblem on the uniform has, in fact, Meteor itself, Meteor-MTK, Meteor.RU, as well as Meteor-Vostok (Tyumen), which may enter the fight in the Night hockey league in Tyumen. All other teams that use our logo on their uniforms do so on their own initiative. We hope it's for a good cause.

As interesting facts: Meteor was the first amateur hockey team to try out the ice of the Megasport rink after the 2007 World Championship in Moscow, all official Meteor matches were recorded on video, Meteor players have championship rings for winning the 2008 Challenge Cup , in 2009, Meteor participated in the first live television broadcasts of amateur hockey (now this is the norm in Moscow), one of the videos with Meteor’s participation was shown on leading sports television channels in the USA and Canada and received many more than a million views on the Internet, many players “Meteora”, who play for the team this season, have awards from the Final Festival of the Night Hockey League - there are Grand Slam Cup winners, silver medalists of the Grand Slam Cup, bronze medalists of the Dream League. The team is young but very experienced.

Meteor entered the 2017-2018 season with serious tasks in the Night Hockey League and other amateur tournaments. On the coaching bridge is Leonid Fedorovich Kanareikin. Team captain - Ilya Tikhonov. The team is always in a great mood and endures the stress of training and harsh clashes in matches with pleasure and good spirits. A team of friends will fight for victory. Together we always win!

In Zhukovsky, construction of an indoor skating rink has started on the territory of the Meteor sports complex. The ice arena will open to everyone in 2020. This was reported by the press service of the city district administration.

The indoor skating rink will have heated locker rooms, toilets and showers. The sports facility is being built using funds from the city budget.

The head of Zhukovsky, Yuri Prokhorov, emphasized that the new skating rink will operate all year round. “It is intended for holding sports competitions and training in hockey and figure skating, as well as for mass visits,” explained Yuri Prokhorov.

The head of the municipality added that for children who go in for figure skating and hockey at the sports school “Meteor Sports Center”, classes at the skating rink will be free. For ordinary visitors, skating rink services will be provided on a paid basis.

Honored Coach of Russia, Deputy Director for Sports and Mass Work at the Meteor Sports School, Vladimir Fomin, clarified that the skating rink being built - a sports facility measuring 73x37 m and a hockey rink of 56x26 m - will allow the use of ice for figure skating and ice hockey in a convenient time for young athletes, and also extend the public skating season from two months, as is usually the case on open ice, to six to seven months.

“The construction of an under-roof skating rink, which is part of the Meteor Sports Complex cluster, will help increase the number of participants and make these activities better quality,” added Vladimir Fomin.

Local resident Evgenia Vlasova said that their whole family is very happy that an indoor skating rink will appear near their house. “For us, this is not only a place where you can have fun spending your free time, but also a necessity. My daughter is engaged in figure skating, and now, I hope, she will be able to train there,” shared Evgenia Vlasova.

"Great news! In our house, everyone is a sports fan. My husband played hockey professionally in his youth and taught everyone to skate in the winter. I think we will be the first to come to the opening of the skating rink and will subsequently spend many happy hours there,” says Zhukovka resident Elvira Belousova.

The head of the regional Ministry of Sports, Roman Teryushkov, recalled that by the end of 2019, 14 municipalities of the Moscow region will receive 15 new hockey rinks. Some of the sites are being built on the site of previously existing but worn-out facilities, others are being built from scratch.

New sites will appear in Domodedovo, Istra, Kashira, Kotelniki, Lobnya, Lyubertsy, Mozhaisk, Naro-Fominsk, Odintsovo, Ozery, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Sergiev Posad, Stupino and Elektrostal. In addition to the playing space, the courts will be equipped with changing rooms for outerwear, toilets, a stand with 30 seats and benches for substitute players. All objects will also receive lighting.
