Tigar tires: reviews. Tigar tires: characteristics, model descriptions. Winter tires Tigar Tire factory in Serbia

Choosing car tires is a responsible and rather difficult task, which not every vehicle owner can handle independently. And this is not surprising! After all, the range offered by various manufacturers is simply huge. Among budget models, it is worth paying attention to Tigar tires. Let's take a closer look at the most popular products of this brand and reviews about them.

Manufacturer information

The Tigar company was founded in Pirot in 1935. The production of car tires under this brand began in 1959. The signing of an agreement with the American BFGoodrich helped to significantly improve product quality and modernize production.

The company is currently a subsidiary of the tire giant Michelin. The concern's specialists constantly monitor the production process and the quality of manufactured tires.

The Serbian company produces inexpensive products with fairly good performance characteristics. Tigar tires are ideal for use on city roads.

The lineup

To produce tires, developers use a high-quality rubber mixture with the addition of additives that have a positive effect on its properties. The thoughtful design of the tread elements improves handling at high speeds. Summer, winter and all-season tires have increased wear resistance and resistance to aquaplaning.

Popular Tigar summer tires include models such as Sigura, Prima, Summer SUV, Hitris, UHP. The tires are endowed with excellent characteristics, good handling on dry and wet road surfaces. The Tigar Syneris model is a high-speed summer tire that has managed to prove itself only on the positive side.

Winter and all-season models

Tigar winter tires are not at all afraid of slush and ice and ensure safe movement in the cold season. The Tigar Sigura Stud model is a studded tire and has good traction characteristics. The tread is capable of quickly self-cleaning from adhered snow and maintaining good grip on the road. Tigar Winter 1 tires are the most popular model for winter. Ideal for use in regions with warm and cold seasons with little snow.

CargoSpeed tires provide excellent traction all year round. These Tigar all-season tires are suitable for light trucks and minibuses. Tigar TG 621 is an all-season model designed for passenger cars. It has wide shoulder blocks, which are responsible for the stability of the rubber on the road. A dense network of lamellas helps quickly remove dirt and moisture from the contact patch, improving traction.

Tigar Sigura tires

For good grip on the road in summer, it is extremely important to “change” your car’s shoes in a timely manner. The main qualities that a summer tire should have are softness, acoustic comfort, resistance to wear and mechanical damage. Does the Serbian brand have tires with suitable parameters in its arsenal?

For middle and compact passenger cars, the Tigar tire manufacturer offers the Sigura model. Summer tires have a symmetrical directional pattern, which allows you to get the widest possible contact patch, which has a positive effect on grip properties. The tread provides excellent vehicle handling and good rolling resistance.

In the tests, the tires were compared with other budget brands (Kordiant, Kama, Amtel, Matador, Capitol), and took fourth place in the ranking among eight participants.

Rubber Features

The clever tread design features a pair of massive central ribs made up of a huge number of blocks. They increase the rigidity of the rubber, which improves the directional stability of the vehicle during high-speed maneuvers.

Tigar Sigura summer tires have the following advantages:

  • quickly develops high speed;
  • Brakes well on dry asphalt;
  • has high acoustic comfort;
  • has increased traction and grip properties;
  • has increased wear resistance;
  • effectively resists hydroplaning.

Rubber is available in diameters R13, R14, R15, R16 and R17. Maximum speed indices - H and T (210 and 190 km/h, respectively).

Tigar is a Serbian tire manufacturer founded in 1935. The company produces budget tires for cars, crossovers and minibuses. In 1974, Tigar entered into a partnership with the American BFGoodrich, and in 1997 it merged with Michelin, which significantly increased the quality of produced automobile rubber. Country of manufacture of Tigar tires is Serbia.

Tigar is one of the most recognizable brands in Central Europe. Moreover, he owes his fame not only to tires, but also to shoes. Tigar rubber boots are handcrafted and are popular among farmers, fishermen and hikers.

Interesting Facts:

1. For her first 25 years, Tigar did not produce tires at all, remaining a tycoon in the local shoe market.

2.The Serbian Tigar factories also produce Riken, Kormoran and Taurus tires.

3.Tigar means “tiger” in Bosnian. The predatory animal became the basis for the brand logo.

Key dates:

1935 - foundation of the company Industrijska radionica Tigar or Przedsiębiorstwo Tigar,
1959 - opening of the first tire factory in Pirot,
1972 - first Tigar radial tires (model RD-201),
1973 - opening of a new plant for the production of bicycle and bicycle tires in Babusnica,
1978 - beginning of cooperation with BFGoodrich;three years later Tigar opens its branch in the USA,
1990 - Tigar creates its representative office in the UK,
2005 - the company debuted on the Belgrade Stock Exchange,
2007 - Michelin becomes the owner of the brand.

Today, the Tigar brand produces several types of adhesives, sports equipment, polyurethane coatings and a whole host of rubber products for the mining, shipbuilding, automotive and aviation industries. The scale of production is impressive, but it all started small. In 1935, Serbian entrepreneur Dimitrije Mladenović co-founded a small workshop making rubber boots for farmers.

History is silent about why the company used the Tigar trademark. But be that as it may, within ten years it has become a leading player in the domestic shoe market. Tigar saw the market trends and quickly expanded its range. At the same time, the company closely monitored the quality and design of shoes so that they would not fade in comparison with European products.

First Tigar tires

The debut on the tire market had to wait until 1959, when a full-fledged plant was launched in the city of Pirot. Tigar opened a new laboratory technology center at the old location. In 1972, the plant produced the first radial tires - model RD-201. Things were going well, so the tire makers started thinking about expanding their business and supplying their products beyond the borders of the socialist bloc. This was facilitated by the partial liberalization of trade and the gradual penetration of foreign capital into Yugoslavia.

Tigar has chosen BFGoodrich, one of the leading US tire manufacturers, as its strategic partner. The rapprochement was cautious, and only in 1978 did it end with the creation of a joint venture. In 1980, Josip Broz Tito, the party leader and head of Yugoslavia of those days, died. The economy became even more free, which prompted Tigar to open an overseas branch with headquarters in the American city of Jacksonville, Florida. BFGoodrich helped European tires gain a foothold in a new market. First of all, this was organizational support, although there was also an exchange of know-how.

Tigar's collaboration with Michelin

In its homeland, Tigar also grew rapidly. In 1977, the company launched a plant in the village of Babushnitsa, where they produced bicycle tires. In the 1980s, Tigar built another plant that specialized in the production of cement and chemicals. The 1990s brought economic instability to the Balkans, resulting in civil war and the collapse of Yugoslavia. However, against the backdrop of a difficult political situation, Tigar managed to open another international office - this time in London.

At the end of the 20th century, Tigar ended its cooperation with BFGoodrich and established contacts with Michelin. Starting in 1997, the French systematically bought up Tigar shares and completely acquired the Serbian tire makers in 2010. Michelin's investment has only strengthened Tigar's position in both the domestic and European markets. The Serbs have expanded their supply and now export more than 2.5 million tires annually. These are tires for cars, utility vehicles and trucks. Buyers pay tribute to the company's rich history and its consistently high quality.

The Serbian company Tigar appeared relatively recently (however, even before the Second World War, and this already says a lot). Year of creation: 1935. The name of the company is translated from Serbian as “tiger”, which, however, is quite easy to guess.

As is customary in a successful business (or rather, as often happens with success stories), the company began producing car tires only in 1959. And today it is already part of such a famous group of companies as Michelin.

It must be said that the brand’s tires have a relatively low price, and due to this they have gained steady popularity in fifty countries around the planet. The brand's facilities produce tires for passenger cars, light trucks and minibuses.

History of development

The company's very first plant, which was located in the Serbian city of Pirot (territory of the former Yugoslavia), began its activities with the creation of a variety of rubber products. Already in 1959, a new plant was put into operation, completely specialized in the production of automobile tires. Today, more than 1.8 thousand people constantly work at this plant.

Five years after its launch, production reached a volume of 1.6 million tires per year. And today Tigar produces about four million tires a year and has the status of a holding joint-stock company.

The production of radial tires began at the company's factories in 1972. The most important milestone in the history of the brand was the conclusion of a technical cooperation contract in 1974 with the American tire manufacturer, BF Goodrich. It was thanks to the above-mentioned agreement that global modernization took place at the “tiger” factories, and the production of high-quality products was established, which today are in stable high demand around the world. Actually, this cooperation continues to this day, for example, in Jacksonville, a branch of the TIGAR-AMERICAS company was opened as part of it.

By the way, this was not the last cooperation contract that the brand in question signed. In 1997, the company also established a long-term partnership with Michelin, with which it has implemented and is implementing various joint projects. As part of this partnership, the plant Tigar switched to using a quality control system that was adopted at Michelin’s own factories, and was able to achieve the issuance of an ISO 9001 quality certificate.

In 1997, a new factory was opened, which produces cameras for cars - it is located in the town of Babushnitsa.

Today, the company still operates as part of a group called Michelin, and has managed to achieve considerable success in creating tires that are close in quality to the ideal. At least when traveling on city roads. The company carefully ensures that the cost of their products is not overpriced, and that absolutely all car enthusiasts who value reliability and quality can afford it.

The Tigar brand (translated from Serbian means “tiger”) was invented by the founders of the company of the same name, which opened in the Serbian city of Pirot in 1935. For many years, this enterprise produced rubber products for a wide range of purposes, but was not involved in the production of tires. It was only in 1959 that a plant specializing in the production of wheel rubber was built and put into operation.

The new venture turned out to be successful, and within five years the annual tire production volume reached 1.5 million units. The company supplied products not only to the domestic market, but also actively developed the export direction, constantly striving to develop new sales regions.

In 1972, the company developed a technology for the production of radial tires and immediately began their serial production. The company's successes did not go unnoticed by more well-known representatives of the tire market, and in 1974 Tigar entered into a partnership agreement with the American corporation BF Goodrich.

Michelin opens Tigar Tires plant in Serbia

This made it possible to carry out a comprehensive modernization of production facilities, as well as gain access to the latest technological solutions and developments. Thanks to this, the company was able to significantly improve the performance and quality of wheel products. This led to a rapid increase in demand for Tiger tires not only in the domestic market, but also abroad, and created favorable conditions for opening our own representative office in Jacksonville, America (TIGAR-AMERICAS).

In 1997, the Tigar company agreed on a strategic partnership with another tire giant - the Michelin concern. As part of the joint implementation of several projects, the French side received the right to sell Tigar tires on the North American market, and quality control systems from Michelin were introduced at the production plants of the Serbian company.

Since 2009, Tiger products have been supplied to the Russian market; official representative offices have been opened in a number of cities (Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, etc.). In addition to Russia, tires are exported to more than 50 countries around the world.
