BRIDGESTONE tires. Bridgestone tires (Bridgestone) Summer tires Bridgestone

The Bridgestone company is one of the market leaders in car tire manufacturers. The product range includes both summer and winter tires with different profiles, sizes and tread patterns. Due to the wide variety of models, it can be difficult to make a choice, but with some comparison, you can choose the tires for your car to suit your driving style.

Types of summer tires and their brief characteristics

ATTENTION! A completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption has been found! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also didn’t believe it until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

Bridgestone offers motorists the following brands of summer tires:

Areas of application for different brands of Bridgestone summer tires

Bridgestone warm-season tires, unlike their direct competitor from Michelin, have a wider range of applications due to their technical characteristics, environmental friendliness and price.

Potenza tires

Test rides in urban conditions and on racing tracks showed that, unlike direct competitors from Michelin, which are primarily designed to achieve maximum speed performance and handling, similar Bridgestone tires, although they were slightly inferior in terms of dynamic characteristics, did not win in the overall standings , adding safety and environmental friendliness to excellent handling.

The comparison was carried out based on such parameters as cornering stability, steering response, braking efficiency and predictability of behavior. The overall standings included performance on both dry and wet surfaces.

Since owners of charged and tuned cars spend most of their time in city traffic on public roads, safety indicators also play an important role for them.

Bridgestone Potenza tires are available in five variants, differing in design and tread pattern, allowing you to choose your option both for those who like fast acceleration and sharp braking, and for those who prefer sharp handling on sharp turns or when changing lanes in city traffic. You can compare these tires using a performance chart that will allow you to see their strengths and weaknesses on different types of surfaces during certain maneuvers.

Ecopia tires

Having launched tires of this series on the market, Bridgestone became a leader - automakers from Europe, the USA and Japan immediately began installing them on their production models, since their closest competitors, including Michelin, did not have models that could adequately compete with the series Ecopia. The main advantage of this tire is fuel economy of more than 7% for compact city cars and more than 12% for mid-size cars and business class representatives. Also, for the first time on the market, Bridgestone introduced an economical tire for SUVs, reducing fuel consumption by almost 3%.

Various auto experts, having made comparisons with analogues, including Michelin, immediately noted the high quality of grip on wet road surfaces, and abrasion tests proved that the tires will also have a long service life. Ecopia technology is being developed further, and the company plans to produce environmentally friendly tires for sports cars. This is important, since many owners of such cars have to pay for increased emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, and thanks to new tires, fuel consumption will be significantly reduced, without compromising the quality of control and speed characteristics of the car.

Products in this series are intended primarily for premium SUVs; if we compare them with off-road tires, the latter have a more clearly defined tread that allows them to overcome fords and deep mud. Although the Bridgestone Duelers have a softer tread, they can still handle relatively rough terrain. Although their main purpose is to provide a comfortable ride for a luxury SUV on city streets with maximum comfort.

Comparative tests with analogues at test sites have shown that the Dueler produces significantly less noise while driving, thanks to the tread pattern and multi-layer carcass, which also allows you to comfortably overcome difficult bumps and potholes.

This type of tire is suitable for any car, both for everyday use and for long trips, and thanks to RTF technology, even after a tire puncture, you can drive to the nearest service station with a flat tire. With this brand, Bridgestone was able to significantly squeeze out its competitors from Michelin, since their comparison showed that, unlike the latter, Turanza tires have a longer service life and produce less noise due to the larger area of the flat contact patch.

Sports tires MY-02 and B250

Thanks to their aggressive appearance, tires of these brands are suitable for owners of sports cars who, in addition to speed, value driving safety, comfort and efficiency. BridgestoneMY-02 and B250 are installed by drivers who emphasize their status with a sports car rather than give preference to extreme driving. Comparison with analogues from Michelin showed that the latter have somewhat better grip on the road during sharp turns, have a shorter braking distance and accelerate the car faster , however, they have a shorter resource and contribute to greater fuel consumption.

Types of winter tires and their brief characteristics

Winter tires from this company are represented by two brands:

Bridgestone Product Benefits

Bridgestone tires are rightfully considered one of the most popular in the world. This popularity is explained by constant developments to improve the quality of products. Their optimal configuration is calculated in advance, which makes it possible to produce tires that are ideal for use with certain types of cars. All Bridgestone tires provide:

  • high maneuverability;
  • excellent handling even on slippery, wet or snowy roads;
  • effective braking in difficult weather conditions.

In addition, Bridgestone tires are distinguished by their affordable price, high level of wear resistance and long service life. Such high product quality is achieved through constant improvement of technology, as well as regular testing at specialized testing sites in Japan, New Zealand and Sweden.

Bridgestone tires are deservedly in demand among domestic consumers. All models of this brand have one undeniable advantage - compared to many competitors of other brands, Bridgestone tires have an increased safety margin, and therefore a longer service life. In many ways, this justifies the high cost of the tire - safety is not an item on which owners of expensive and prestigious car brands can save.

The review presents models of this brand for all occasions. The rating was compiled based on reviews from service center specialists and owners who chose the products of one of the best tire brands - Bridgestone, who kindly shared their invaluable operating experience.

The Best Bridgestone Tires for Fast Driving

This category presents, along with the frankly sporty Bridgestone tire models, the best tires for summer travel. All of them are distinguished by their efficient handling and predictable behavior on any road sections.

5 Bridgestone Turanza ER300

The most durable
A country:
Average price: 6675 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.4

Despite the fact that Bridgestone updated this tire model with the release of the Turanza T001, the ER300 continues to be in serious demand and popularity among car enthusiasts. The tire's resistance to road impacts and sidewall strength provide excellent directional stability at high speeds. At the same time, the car is predictable in handling, but fast turns every now and then tend to end in a skid. The driver has to clearly control the pressure on the accelerator pedal, but the tire allows you to “feel” the fine line of stability when maneuvering.

Owners value it for its phenomenal rigidity - impacts from serious potholes do not damage the rubber. Where the closest competitors of other brands suffer hernias and ruptures, the Bridgestone Turanza ER300 avoids any consequences at all. Reviews also note quite comfortable high-speed maneuvering on perfectly smooth asphalt. But as soon as you find yourself on paving stones or a road dotted with patches and potholes, the behavior of the tire changes - the control becomes less precise, and you have to slow down. Due to excessive rigidity, the noise level of this rubber leaves much to be desired.

4 Bridgestone MY-02 Sporty Style

The most affordable sports tires
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 5088 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.5

Summer tires Bridgestone MY-02 Sporty Style have an affordable price. They are intended for lovers of a sporty driving style. These tires are equipped with small and medium class passenger cars. Despite the priority in speed and drive, the tires can be called universal. A distinctive feature of the model range is the aggressive design, which is given by the tread grooves in the form of a lightning bolt. Thanks to this V-shaped pattern, the tires have excellent grip both on dry road surfaces and on asphalt after heavy rain. External pressure on the tire is evenly distributed due to the minimal curvature of the tread profile. The model is offered to motorists in 18 standard sizes.

Car owners in their reviews note such positive properties of Bridgestone sports tires as road stability, noiselessness, and durable sidewalls. The disadvantages include slipping on wet grass, and the tires also do not feel confident in the ruts.

3 BRIDGESTONE ALENZA 001

Excellent road grip. High precision steering
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 10917 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.7

This summer tire was introduced to consumers last year, and has already managed (in just one season!) to become a fairly popular tire from the Bridgestone model line. NANO PRO-TECHT technology has made it possible to achieve uniformity of silica molecules in the rubber mixture. This gave the tire excellent balance and was reflected in its efficiency - over long distances the reduction in fuel consumption is especially noticeable. The tires, however, turned out to be quite noisy, but their behavior on the road and wear resistance fully justify the acoustic discomfort (besides, the noise level is not as critical as competitors say it is).

High directional stability and reliable grip (especially on wet roads) open up the possibility of masterful car control - regardless of the selected speed, the sharp steering wheel allows you to make breathtaking turns - the driver literally feels the line, crossing which, the car will go into a skid. In the reviews left, in addition to the above, users highly appreciate the safety of BRIDGESTONE ALENZA 001 tires. Cars on this tire stop as well as they start - practically without slipping, literally clinging to the asphalt surface. Without a doubt, this feature of tires is one of the most attractive for many owners of crossovers or SUVs.

2 Bridgestone Turanza T005

The best tires for long trips. New on the market
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 10370 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.8

To be honest, calling this model a sports car would not be entirely correct - its characteristics offer the owner both a comfortable noise level and excellent handling. It doesn’t roll at all, but goes into turns like a knife through butter. This summer tire implemented the latest Bridgestone developments, providing the Turanza T005 with phenomenal stability during high-speed maneuvering on wet asphalt. Satisfactory braking performance is somewhat behind that of stiffer sports tires, however, they provide a decent level of safety both on the highway and on country roads.

Owners who have already tested this year's new product consider it the most successful tire for long-distance travel in the summer season. In their reviews, they focus on the predictability of Bridgestone Turanza T005 tires in all conditions, moderate noise levels and high efficiency. Low rolling resistance, effective drainage of water from the contact patch and reinforced shoulder blocks increased the tire's resistance to deformation and ensured uniform loads during braking. Before they even appeared on the market, the tires have already begun to be used as factory equipment for such prestigious car brands as Audi, BMW and Lexus.

The high popularity of various Bridgestone models is explained by a number of factors.

  • Impeccable tire quality is one of the main secrets of the demand for rubber from Japan. High reliability, durability and attractive design have become determining factors for owners of Formula 1 cars.
  • The corporation is constantly developing new types of tires. For this purpose, there is a technical center where product improvement takes place. More than a hundred engineers and designers are taking part in the development of the new line of wheels.
  • At each stage of tire creation, quality checks are carried out using specialized equipment and software. As a result, many minor errors can be identified at the initial stage.
  • About 10 thousand tires leave the factory conveyors every month. All of them have special tracks that allow you to ride at high speed and not wear out.
  • Before delivering products to retail outlets, rubber is subjected to three-stage diagnostics. First, the tire life is checked, then handling and comfort are diagnosed.
  • Some Bridgestone models have a narrow shape, which allows car owners to save on fuel consumption. In some cases, it is possible to reduce the consumption of gasoline or diesel fuel by 20%.

1 Bridgestone Potenza RE003 Adrenalin

Excellent handling. Buyer's choice
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 8370 rub.
Rating (2019): 5.0

Bridgestone Potenza RE003 Adrenalin tires combine the efficiency of high-performance premium tires with the wear resistance of the budget segment. At the same time, the behavior on the road of a car “shod” in these tires can be called more than confident. High-speed maneuvering on any asphalt is characterized by high precision and quick response of tires to steering wheel rotations.

The rigidity of the tread is largely ensured by its unusual pattern. Japanese engineers have developed a unique rubber compound that effectively resists abrasion and significantly increases the service life of these summer Bridgestones. Owner reviews highly value the ability to accurately take turns at high speeds - the effectiveness of resistance to lateral slip, compared to the previous model, has increased significantly. To fully enjoy the speed and perfect grip, high safety (braking distance from 100 km/h on dry surfaces - 37.5 m) and steering sensitivity, these tires must first be warmed up.

The best Bridgestone tires for a comfortable ride

3 Bridgestone Turanza ER42

High level of security
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 12150 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.7

There is no doubt that this is a premium class tire, in the design of which more than one modern high-tech solution was used. Only because of its cost, the Bridgestone Turanza ER42 did not become the leader of the rating in this category. This model is included in the factory equipment of some prestigious car brands (for example, BMW 7 Series), which in itself indicates high performance characteristics. The secret is using Side Support Run Flat technology. The reinforced sidewall with steel cord maintains the wheel geometry in case of tire damage and does not lead to loss of control.

The peculiarity of the structure of the tread blocks is in the form of symmetrical cuts, allowing you to change the angles and sizes of the pattern blocks. This happens depending on operating conditions and the selected driving mode, providing a high acoustic level of comfort on any surface. When maneuvering and driving at different speeds, owners note stable behavior and better traction. The slightest movement of the steering wheel immediately finds its response in changing the trajectory - the tires instantly and accurately implement the course set by the driver. Reviews also note excellent resistance to aquaplaning and slow wear, which fully justifies the high cost of this Bridgestone model.

2 Bridgestone Ecopia EP200

Best price in the category. High wear resistance
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 4900 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.8

This Bridgestone tire is designed for middle-class cars and is capable of providing a decent level of comfort while driving. The tire has proven itself well on wet roads and copes well with country and forest roads. The soft sidewall makes them unsuitable for vigorous turns. Moreover, it is not at all designed for fans of high-speed driving. Her element is only calm driving.

Judging by the reviews, Bridgestone Ecopia EP200 tires have a serious service life. The rubber performs well on poor asphalt, smoothing out small irregularities and potholes. Driving at speeds (up to 140 km/h) on straight sections does not require constant adjustment of the steering wheel - the tires hold the road perfectly. Balancing during installation requires minimal loads of up to 20-25 grams. Another strong point is the good economy of this summer tire, which is noticeable on long trips. Also, no one particularly complains about traction, provided that the driving style is relaxed.

1 Bridgestone Potenza S001

Quietest tires
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 9670 rub.
Rating (2019): 5.0

Tires from the Bridgestone Potenza S001 series boast minimal noise levels while driving. The Japanese manufacturer managed to achieve unique properties through the introduction of a number of innovations. When preparing the rubber composition, polyethylene terephthalate was used, which had a positive effect on the tire’s grip on the road. The noise was reduced after the introduction of the Silent AC unit. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to find a compromise between ride comfort and sporty performance. After strengthening the external blocks, it became easier to maintain the optimal trajectory on sharp turns. As a result, the Potenza S001 series has become the most balanced in its price segment.

In the reviews you can find a number of positive qualities of rubber. It holds the road well, is quiet, wears out slowly, and gives good feedback when maneuvering. Among the disadvantages, high price and heavy weight are often mentioned.

The best Bridgestone tires for off-road use

The high strength and wear resistance of Bridgestone rubber has been tested by more than one generation of car enthusiasts. The brand's tire products, designed for use in light off-road conditions, also deserve trust due to their reliability. This category presents only the best models that are most adapted to tough tests.

3 Bridgestone Ecopia EP850

Better energy efficiency
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 7373 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.6

The most energy efficient series in the Bridgestone collection is Ecopia EP850. The tires are designed for use in summer on off-road vehicles. Equipping crossovers and jeeps with these tires has a number of advantages. They lie in the design of the tires. Thanks to the asymmetrical directional pattern, the wheels have excellent traction on different types of road surfaces. The manufacturer added special silicone and polymer additives to the rubber mixture. As a result, traction and grip performance has improved. The rigid design of the shoulder areas increased tread durability and improved handling.

Users praise the properties of Bridgestone Ecopia EP850, such as reliability, durability, and stability on any road. The car does not stall when driving off-road and behaves predictably. The disadvantage of rubber is that with 30% wear, off-road properties are lost and difficulties arise with balancing.

2 Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684

The most wear-resistant tires
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 12,770 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.8

For serious off-road vehicles, Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 tires are required. It is designed for difficult off-road conditions, but in extreme conditions the tires create a comfortable environment for the driver. In the design and production of tires, the most advanced technologies (such as UNI-T) were used, new formulations of rubber composition and tread design were developed. Reinforced sides allow you to safely move off-road without fear of bumping into sharp stones or tree roots. Many automakers have appreciated the capabilities of the Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684, including them as standard equipment on their cars. These are Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Pajero, Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

In reviews, car owners list such advantages of the series as softness, wear resistance, and stability on wet roads. The overall impression is somewhat spoiled by noise and quick washing in the mud.

1 Bridgestone Dueler A/T 001

Buyer's Best Choice
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 7698 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.9

The tire is designed for use on asphalt and dirt roads with the ability to overcome moderate off-road conditions. The versatility of this All Terrain ensures high performance in all conditions. It is understood that the share of trips outside the asphalt surface should not exceed half of the total mileage. This model of Bridgestone summer tires has a deep tread with an effective pattern - the ribs of the checkers are made at such an angle that when the wheel operates, acoustic vibrations are suppressed. The tire, despite its size and deep drainage, is characterized by low noise levels, ease of handling and excellent grip.

As for the cross-country ability, owner reviews note that the rubber has good self-cleaning ability and high resistance to shock loads. At the same time, we should not forget that tires are simply not designed for impassable dirt, and you should not expect miracles from them. The special composition of the rubber mixture provides an increased service life. If you treat Bridgestone Dueler A/T 001 tires with care (timely tire rotations, monitoring the pressure level in the cylinders and proper storage), they will last much longer than their competing counterparts. This ability fully justifies every ruble invested in it. Many owners replace their expired Dueler A/T 001 with the same new ones, which clearly characterizes the model only from the best side.

The best Bridgestone tires for winter

Bridgestone winter tires can provide confident maneuvering and cross-country ability on any surface. The presence of models with studs and the softest Velcro in the brand’s assortment allows you to choose the best tires for different operating conditions.

4 Bridgestone Blizzak Revo GZ

The most popular winter friction tires
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 6065 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.5

Winter tires are widely represented by the Bridgestone Blizak line. Among the many models, we should highlight the Blizzak Revo GZ Velcro, which has won the hearts of many domestic motorists. Among experts, this friction rubber has been repeatedly recognized as the best due to its versatility. The tires withstand the test of slush, ice and compacted snow equally well. The tire tread was modeled on a computer, thanks to which the load was transferred to certain points on the tread. The asymmetrical pattern performed well both during acceleration and braking. Wide grooves successfully remove water and wet snow. The manufacturer managed to achieve the necessary softness through Multicell Compound technology, which provides for the presence of many micropores.

Among the large number of reviews, the prevailing opinion is that the tires are perfect for Russian roads. Rubber makes the car obedient in all situations. Car enthusiasts call rapid wear and tear as a disadvantage of the line.

3 Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000

High grip and wear resistance
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 7334 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.7

For lovers of careful driving, these Bridgestone winter tires will probably be the best choice. In any case, in the reviews of owners who have been using these tires for more than one year, there is no hint of disappointment. Rather, on the contrary, there is excellent stability on ice, and deep snow does not present any obstacles for this tire at all. The studs are planted reliably, and it is not uncommon when, even after the second season of operation, there is no loss of them.

Turning on a winter road without skidding, confident steering and excellent directional stability - the tires cope with their tasks better than others. Owners would love to have that confidence on the highway all the time, and the Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000 tires come close to meeting their expectations. Everything, of course, depends on the driving style and mileage, but for a careful owner, these tires perform well for 5-6 seasons in a row, which indicates a high margin of safety and reliability.

2 Bridgestone RD713

The optimal choice for the most difficult conditions
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 7030 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.8

A quick glance at the Bridgestone RD713 tread is enough to put aside questions about the noise level as inappropriate - the rubber emits significant sound vibrations, but also “rows” like a child, providing a passenger car or crossover with better cross-country ability in the harshest off-road conditions. There are also successful examples of using these tires on small commercial vehicles - the tires have excellent load-carrying capacity. In this winter Bridgestone model, high control precision was achieved due to the macroblocks along the edges of the tread. The presence of spikes makes it more stable on ice.

In reviews, owners point to the fact that the width of the working part of the tread is quite narrow. This provides excellent cross-country ability in the snow, but also has a side effect - when driving along a rut, the car constantly tries to jump out of it, and the driver has to constantly steer. Polymer additives and silicon included in the rubber composition ensure slow wear of tires. At the same time, we should not forget that the intense nature of the ride and bare asphalt completely neutralize this advantage - there have been cases when owners “lost” up to half of the tread in literally one season.

1 Bridgestone Blizzak Spike-02 SUV

The best studded tires
A country: Japan (manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia)
Average price: 11,160 rub.
Rating (2019): 5.0

The leading position in the global car market is occupied by the Bridgestone Blizzak Spike-02 SUV studded tires. The manufacturer used innovative technologies in the form of a directional stud, an improved rubber composition and a V-shaped tread with an increased number of sipes. Engineers increased the density of the central edges and changed the angle of the side edges. As a result, the removal of the snow-water mixture has improved and the adhesion rate has increased. Tires are characterized by high wear resistance and durability. Studded tires are available in a wide range of standard sizes (30 models); they can be used as “winter shoes” for different types of cars.

Domestic car enthusiasts highlight the excellent stability of the car on winter roads in their reviews. The tires perform confidently on ice and slush. The studs sit securely in the tire without flying out when driving on asphalt. The main disadvantage for many car owners is the high price.

About Bridgestone tires

The history of Bridgestone began on the first spring day of 1931 in Kurume, Japan. It owes its name to the name of its founder Shojiro Ishibashi, which was translated into English as stone (ishi) and bridge (bashi). Like a significant part of the other well-known Japanese brands today, this tire manufacturer did not disappear into the annals of history, thanks to the Second World War, which brought it many military orders. Japan's defeat created some difficulties, which, however, made Bridgestone much more stable than before. After all, it significantly expanded the range of products, most of which were not tires, but rubber products for various purposes.

Business diversification, as well as the widespread use of the latest technologies at that time, allowed the company to become the largest tire manufacturer in Japan in the 1950s. The next decade brought it the development of the production of radial tires for cars and trucks, and also began the production of bicycles under its own brand. In 1967, the first North American branch opened, which was almost an extraordinary event for that period of time when the recent military confrontation between Japan and the United States was still fresh in memory.

In the 70s, the company continued its progressive development. It consisted of expansion into other markets. In 1972, the first European branch opened in Belgium. And 7 years after this significant event, the technology for processing car tires into fuel for industrial furnaces was presented. However, all this was overshadowed by the death of the company's founder, Shojiro Ishibashi, who died in 1976.

Half a century later

The 80s of the last century marked the half-century anniversary of the existence of this Japanese company, which by that time had become one of the leaders in the global tire industry. This position was significantly strengthened in 1988 with the purchase of the second largest North American tire manufacturer, Firestone. But before that, in 1982, the company introduced the first Japanese studless winter tire, for which five years later it developed the now widely advertised rubber compound with a microporous structure.

Around the same time, a number of other developments were introduced on which the company's current leadership in technology is based. First of all, this is an external pressure distribution technology for truck tires and a technology for optimizing rolling resistance for passenger tires. A little later, these, as well as many other technological innovations, were combined into the Uni-T technology, which is successfully used in the tire products of this brand today. The debut of this set of technical solutions took place simultaneously with the presentation of sports tires Bridgestone for Potenza passenger cars. Today this name is used in relation to a whole line of passenger models, numbering several dozen items.

In addition to passenger cars, the company did not stop working on truck tires. Specifically, in the mid-2000s, it acquired Bandag Inc., which specialized in truck tire retreading. As a result, the Japanese tire giant gained access to the most advanced technologies in this field, which, along with the brand, were used in its own tire products. Customers also benefited by having access to tires with advanced technical characteristics and a very long service life. This applies equally to both passenger and truck models.
