The turbo engine is equipped with a direct fuel injection system and phase shifters at the inlet / outlet. The atmospheric engine has two camshafts (phase shifter on the intake shaft), multi-point injection, electronic throttle valve, timing chain drive.
Modifications with "aspirated" HR16DE are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The version with a 117-horsepower installation can also be aggregated with a Jatco Xtronic variator. The turbocharged Nissan Juke received two transmission options: a 6-speed manual transmission and a variator with the ability to manually shift virtual gears.
The All Mode 4 × 4-i all-wheel drive with the Torque Vectoring thrust vectoring system went only to the turbo-Beetle with CVT, the other versions are front-wheel drive. The configuration of the all-wheel drive transmission includes two electronically controlled clutches in the drive of the rear wheels. Each of them is responsible for its own axle shaft, if necessary, partially or completely blocking the wheel using a set of clutches. The extraordinary solutions of the designers were continued inside. Sporty aesthetics are also present in the interior: in the form of seats, a center console stylized as a motorcycle fuel tank, in the dashboard equipped with two optitronic instrument wells, in a contrasting finish (black with red or black and gray) of the interior. In the basic configuration, the car is equipped with a 1.6 liter gasoline engine. with a capacity of 117 hp, which is available with both a 5-speed manual transmission and an Xtronic CVT. A diesel engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters, 81 kW (110 hp) and a common-rail system is offered for the European market. This powertrain provides Juke with excellent dynamics thanks to impressive torque (240 Nm) and is characterized by good fuel efficiency and low emission levels.
The car is equipped with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive ALL MODE 4X4-i with the advanced TORQUE VECTOR torque transmission system. This system improves the vehicle's handling and reduces understeer when cornering. Along with redistributing the torque between the front and rear axles in a 50:50 ratio, this system distributes it between the wheels on different sides. As for the front-wheel drive modifications, they come with McPherson struts and a rear suspension of the "H" type with a torsion beam and control arms. All-wheel drive versions are equipped with a multi-link rear suspension, similar to the Nissan Qashqai design.
Nissan Juke earned 5 points in EuroNCAP safety tests. Adult passengers in the front seats received 87% protection, children in special safety seats in the rear seats 81%. Pedestrians earned 41% on safety. And passive safety systems 71%.
Nissan spent about 60 million euros on the development of this model, creating 1,000 jobs. Production of conventional mono-drive versions is planned at the plant in Sunderland, and all-wheel drive and turbocharged versions - at the Oppama plant in Japan. Interestingly, the sales of the model are planned to be distributed around the world in a ratio of 60:25:15 between the USA, Europe and Japan.
An updated version of the Nissan Juke was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show. Externally, the car has changed slightly, retaining the recognizability and brand originality of the model. The crossover got xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights (pre-styling Juke, even in top-end versions, was equipped only with halogen headlights), an upgraded radiator grille with a new company emblem, a modified front and rear bumper, side mirrors with built-in indicator indicators with LED, rear lights - elements and a large hatch, which occupies 2/3 of the roof area.
Completing the exterior makeover of the 2014 Nissan Juke is a new set of alloy wheels. Various color wheel inserts can be ordered at an additional cost. In the basic configuration, the Visia crossover will receive 16-inch steel or alloy wheels, in the Acenta and Tekna versions - 17-inch alloy wheels of various designs, as well as optional 18-inch wheels.
There are three new paint options for the body: Sunlight Yellow metallic, Ink Blue metallic and Solid Red. Optional mirror caps, side sills, spoilers and door handles can be in a contrasting color.
The small trunk was among the few but significant shortcomings of the early Juke. Nissan tried to fix this by changing the shape of the trunk, but only in the front-wheel drive version of the crossover. Now its volume is 354 liters. It turns out that there is still only 251 liters in the trunk of the all-wheel drive version.
In the cabin, it is worth noting the presence of a new multimedia complex and a set of safety systems Nissan Safety Shield, which includes a lane control system, a system for detecting objects in blind spots, a system for detecting moving objects. The crossover equipment list also includes the Around View Monitor system. The basic equipment includes an audio system with a CD-player and an AUX socket, an indicator for optimal gear and a tire pressure sensor. In the versions 1.5 dCi and 1.6 DIG-T in the "base", in addition to this, alloy wheels, air conditioning, trip computer and adjustable driver's seat.
The interior design has not changed, but new design options have become available for it. As standard, the center console, door panels and other interior elements are painted gray, while optional customization packages are available in red, white, black or bright yellow.
The updated model is equipped with more economical and environmentally friendly power plants. The outdated 117-horsepower 1.6-liter engine was replaced by a new 1.2-liter unit with 115 hp. (190 Nm of torque). Combined fuel consumption is about 5.5 liters. The second petrol engine with a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 190 hp. familiar to us from the pre-styling model, but it was modernized - the compression ratio was increased (from 9.5 to 10.5), and also an exhaust gas recirculation system was introduced. The previous 1.5-liter 110-horsepower turbodiesel (not supplied to Russia) has also entered the power line. All engines for the 2014 Nissan Juke are offered with a six-speed manual transmission, and an optional new M-CVT is available.
