Serbia. About the company Tigar (Tigar). Description of Sigura Stud

The Serbian company Tigar appeared relatively recently (however, even before the Second World War, and this already says a lot). Year of creation - 1935th. The name of the company is translated from Serbian as "tiger", which, however, is quite easy to guess.

As is common in successful businesses (or rather, as is often the case with success stories), the company began producing car tires only in 1959. And today it is already part of such a famous group of companies as Michelin.

I must say that brand tires have a relatively low price, and due to this they have gained steady popularity in fifty countries around the world. Tires for passenger cars, light trucks and minibuses are manufactured at the facilities of this brand.

The history of development

The very first plant of the company, which was located in the Serbian city of Pirot (the territory of the former Yugoslavia), began its activity with the creation of a variety of rubber products. Already in 1959, a new plant was put into operation, fully specialized in the manufacture of automobile tires. Today, more than 1.8 thousand people constantly work at this plant.

Five years later, after the launch, production reached a volume equal to 1.6 million tires per year. And today, Tigar produces about four million tires a year and has the status of a holding company.

The production of radial tires began at the company's plants in 1972. The most important milestone in the history of the brand was the conclusion of a technical cooperation contract in 1974 with the American tire manufacturer, BF Goodrich. It was thanks to the aforementioned agreement that a global modernization took place at the "tiger" plants, and the production of high-quality products was launched, which today are in stable high demand around the world. Actually, this cooperation continues to this day, for example, in Jacksonville, within its framework, a branch of TIGAR-AMERICAS was opened.

By the way, this was not the last cooperation contract signed by the described brand. In 1997, the company also established a long-term partnership with Michelin, with which it has implemented and is implementing various joint projects. As part of this partnership, the plant Tigar switched to using the quality control system that was adopted at the factories of Michelin itself, and was able to achieve the issuance of the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

In 1997, a new factory was opened, which produces cameras for cars - it is located in the town of Babushnitsa.

Today, the company still works as part of a group called Michelin, and has managed to achieve considerable success in creating tires that are close in quality to the ideal. At least when traveling on city roads. The company carefully monitors that the cost of their products is not overpriced, and absolutely all motorists who appreciate reliability and quality can afford it.
