We read the tire markings correctly: 175/70/R13:

  • 175 — width mm;
  • 70 — profile height;
  • R - designation of the type of structure - radial;
  • 13 - rim diameter in inches.

Among other markings, they also indicate: load index, speed, country of manufacture, maximum pressure.

The following indicators depend on the correct selection of tires:

  • controllability;
  • quality of adhesion to the road surface;
  • aquaplaning coefficient;
  • handling on rough terrain;
  • noise level;
  • fuel consumption;
  • wear rate.

Lada Granta is a budget mass car produced by the Volzhsky Automobile Plant based on the Lada Kalina.

This car has gained great popularity among citizens of Russia and the CIS countries. In view of its demand, the issue of replacing winter tires on Grant is relevant.

The safety of all road users, as well as the comfort of the driver and passengers while driving, depends on well-chosen winter tires.

This article will discuss the features and main characteristics of winter tires for the Lada Granta, and describe the rules for choosing winter tires for the Granta liftback and its other modifications.

Tires on "Grant"

When choosing winter tires for a Lada Granta car, you need to know exactly what modification of this car the tires are selected for. The first generation Lada Granta began production in May 2011 as a sedan in several trim levels. At the same time, Lada Granta Sport was introduced. In May 2015, production of Lada Granta Liftback began.

The production of the first generation “Grants” ended in 2018. In 2019, mass production of the second generation Lada Granta began in two bodies: a sedan and a liftback, in several trim levels.

The in-plant designation of the Lada Granta sedan car is VAZ 2190, the Lada Granda liftback is VAZ 2191.

Characteristics

Any car tire has a number of characteristics that must be taken into account in order to choose the right tire for your car.

The first most important characteristic of rubber is size. Tire size parameters using the 175/65 R14 marking as an example:

  • 175 is the width of the tire, measured in millimeters.
  • 65 is the profile height, measured as a percentage of the tire width.
  • R - indicates that the tire is radial (from the English word radial), but certainly not that the radius designation follows, as many people think. Wheels have no radius, only diameter. The radius of a tire is its type of construction. There is also a bias tire type.
  • 14 is the tire diameter in inches. To convert this figure into the usual centimeters, you need to multiply the inch value by 2.54.

Tire size

The second important characteristic of any tire is the maximum weight and speed index. It is most often recommended to install 82 H tires on Grant cars. This marking indicates that this tire can withstand loads of up to 475 kg and operates effectively at speeds of up to 210 km/h.

Note!

The maximum load parameter is indicated for one tire. Therefore, for a set of 4 tires, the maximum load in this case will be 1 t 900 kg. Considering that the average total weight of the Grant is 1.5 tons, the load on the tire is calculated with a good margin.

Next, you need to pay attention to the presence of thorns. Many versions of winter tires are produced without studs at all. Some have sparse thorns. Each manufacturer strives to come up with a new, improved type of studs. They differ in shape, size and material from which they are made. Their main purpose is to pierce the ice for better starting and braking on icy surfaces.

Additional Information!

In many countries, including Russia, there is a legal restriction on having too many studs on a tire. This is due to the fact that the spikes damage the asphalt surface.

The next important factor is the depth of the tread pattern and the pattern itself. The tread determines the quality of wheel grip on the road surface. The more technologically advanced the pattern on the rubber is, the better the tires will have noise, drainage and reliability characteristics.

In addition, there are many other characteristics. In general, the better the quality of the tire, the more reliable and stable ride it will provide.

Low-quality cheap tires can also wear out extremely quickly and lose studs, so such savings are not always appropriate.

How to choose tires for driving a Lada Granta liftback in winter

To correctly select the tire size for a Lada Granta in a liftback body, you need to know that this car in the first generation was produced in 3 trim levels. Tire sizes installed by the manufacturer according to configurations:

  • Standard: 175/65 R14 82H and 185/60 R14 82H.
  • Standard: 175/65 R14 82H and 185/60 R14 82H.
  • Lux: 175/65 R14 82H, 185/60 R14 82H and 185/55 R15 82H.

Note!

The above data relates specifically to the tire size that the manufacturer installs on new cars.

Wheel size for Granta liftback.

In addition, the manufacturer allows the installation of the following wheels on all modifications of the VAZ-2191 car: 175/65 R14 82T, H; 185/60 R14 82T, H; 185/55 R15 82T, H, V.

The second generation Lada Granta will hit the market in 4 versions. Tire sizes by configuration:

  • Standard, Classic, Optima, Comfort: 175/65 R14 and 185/60 R14 steel 82H.
  • Luxe, Prestige: 185/55 R15 alloy 82H.

What you should pay attention to when choosing tires for Granta

When choosing winter car tires, special attention should be paid to the road surface on which these tires are intended to be used.

If the tires are designed for mud and off-road use, they will handle drifts, sleet and ice more easily, but may not be effective on wet pavement. In addition, powerful tires that perform well in suburban conditions can wear out greatly when driving on a clean highway. On the contrary, tires designed for everyday city driving may not cope even with light off-road conditions.

The main parameters of winter wheels on the Lada Granta

The dimensions of winter tires for the Lada Granta car in a liftback body have already been described in detail above. You should also indicate the basic parameters of winter tires for other variations of the car.

Tires for Granta Sport

Tire sizes for Lada Granta sedan of the first generation by trim levels:

  • Standard: 175/70 R13 82 T,H.
  • Standard: 175/65 R14 82H.
  • Lux: 175/65 R14 and 82H 185/55 R15.

The tire sizes for the second-generation Lada Granta sedan are identical to the dimensions of the same car in the liftback body.

Lada Granta Sport is equipped with tires 195/50 R16 (84, V) and 185/55 R15 (82, H/V). Lada Granta Drive Active is available with tires size 185/55 R15 (82, H).

Thus, when selecting winter tires for a domestic Lada Granta car, you need to pay attention to a number of important characteristics: size, tread pattern, presence of studs and others. By following all the rules for selecting tires, you can ensure safe and comfortable driving in the winter. Winter tires for Granta R14 are the most popular size option.

Properly selected car tires mean safe driving. Many drivers underestimate the importance of high-quality car equipment, as a result of which there are frequent cases of accidents, collisions, and emissions to the side of the road.

Modern VAZ cars, including the Lada Granta, are equipped with rims with a diameter of R13, R14, R15, R16. The behavior of the car on the road depends on the size of the diameter. For moderate driving, the manufacturer recommends tires with a rim diameter of R15 as a universal option.

ATTENTION! A completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption has been found! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also didn’t believe it until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

The choice of tires is a real problem for most Lada Granta owners due to the fact that the “range of sizes” is limited. Driving for a long time on tires with inappropriate sizes leads to decreased vehicle control and emergency situations.

The transcript reads as follows:

  • wheel rim width;
  • surface diameter;
  • reach length;
  • tire width;
  • height in percent;
  • diameter of the metal rim.

The higher the disc is installed on the car, the greater the risk of skidding and reduced control efficiency. At the same time, excessively low wheels also negatively affect ground clearance, lower ground clearance, and limit the vehicle’s maneuverability.

The most suitable tire and wheel sizes are R13, R14, and R15 and R16 are intended exclusively for asphalt pavement and city roads. Driving on the periphery with rims of size R15, R16 is not advisable, since there is a high probability of deformation of the metal rim.

The larger the diameter of the rim, the higher the noise levels, fuel consumption, and the faster the tires wear out. Before choosing and purchasing a tire, read the instructions in the instructions and get advice from service station specialists.

What non-standard sizes can be installed on the Lada Granta?

What is the tire pressure of Lada Granta

Each tire manufacturer determines the pressure for tires individually, based on their technical indicators and characteristics. Exact data is always indicated in the vehicle's operating manual.

Service station specialists strongly recommend changing tires strictly according to the seasons, and to a lesser extent using universal, all-season tires. The operating temperature range is several degrees lower than seasonal tires, resulting in reduced vehicle controllability.

Indexes and markings of tires on Lada Granta

To choose the right tire you need to be able to read the indices and other symbols on the tires, namely:

  • “T” - the maximum permitted speed of movement is not more than 195 km / h. “H” - up to 205 - 210 km/h. It is not recommended to exceed the speed range, as there is a high probability of shooting, cord deformation, and, as a result, an emergency;
  • “Q” - load capacity index: from 85 to 490 kg;
  • “ET” is the metal rim bead extension coefficient;
  • “KM” - partial and full load index: no more than three passengers, cargo in the trunk up to 50 kg;
  • “M+S” - full load - more than three people and over 50 kg in the trunk.

What does the pressure in Lada Granta tires affect?

  • Safety and comfort when traveling by car. Over-inflated tires become hard and produce a distinct knocking sound when they hit a hole or bump. There is a high probability that the metal rim will be deformed and the camber-toe angle will be disrupted.
  • Fuel consumption: the lower the pressure, the more effort the engine needs to put in to rotate the wheel and move the car. In the case of overinflated tires, fuel consumption is within normal limits.
  • Chassis and suspension of the vehicle: overinflated tires do not dampen impacts from unevenness and potholes, but fully transfer them to steering rods, ends, and ball joints. Thus, the elements of the steering system fail faster.
  • Shock absorbers and strut pressure springs: similar to the steering rack, rods, and tips, the elements wear out faster due to systematic work. Sharp jolts and impacts cause the spring coils to burst, become deformed, and the shock absorber rod breaks the cylinder.

If you encounter any difficulties with repairs or diagnostics of components and assemblies, contact specialists from service stations, workshops, and service centers for help.

Although the winter turned out to be warm, it presented several surprises. On the day when the temperature jumped +-1 degree, we were driving in a convoy of 4 cars along the Karelian serpentines. The snow began to actively fall on the warm asphalt and at some point the road turned into a skating rink. At one of the turns, I went into a skid, although the friends following me managed to slow down... ESP helped someone (which, unfortunately, I don’t have). All tires are studded!

As a result, I went into a snowdrift, from where I was quickly pulled out by a passing tractor. You could say I got off with a fright, but the conclusions were drawn: I CHANGE THE TIRES!

And then a long period of googling around the forums began.
I had two questions -
1. What size should I take?
2. What tires should I take?

So, by default the Grant is set to 175/65 14 Radius.
Replacement options either 185/60 are allowed, but the profile is lower, and on our roads these are replacement discs.
Or 195/50 and R15, but here the profile is even lower.

The choice was initially thought to be 185/60, but judging by numerous entries, many ride with a 185/65/R14 profile and feel good. Well... since I'm not the first, I can try. Decision: 185/65. It is worth noting that this size is not allowed by AvtoVAZ, so do everything at your own peril and risk!

Second question: What kind of tires should I take?
Here I was faced with a situation - how many people, so many opinions. And the articles in famous magazines smacked of corruption. The same can be said about reviews on the market (which were thoughtlessly copied by hired users). Another problem was that everyone who wrote at least some reviews paid attention to two things - whether it makes noise or not (to which I somehow...) and how it behaves at high speeds (well, I don’t like to drive). But about how off-road it is - at best, one out of a hundred.

In general, from the reviews one gets the impression that the quality of the roads should match the quality of the rubber. Budget tires will perform well on budget roads, while expensive tires will perform well only on expensive ones)

I decided not to invent a bicycle but to take what was produced closer - for the summer I took Nokain Hakka Green (185/65/R14)

For the winter I took a Nokian Nordman 4 (by the way, at a price of 2,270 rubles) 5 pieces (I also decided to make the spare tire winter) In winter, such a tire would cost 3500-3700, so seize the moment.

In one go I changed the wheels to cast ones (X-trike 104) for 1500 apiece, 6 Diameter.
185 can be stretched to 5.5, which were before, but I decided not to run into tolerances.

Eventually:
I started the summer with new Hakka Green 185/65 and new wheels. For testing we drove the dam towards Kronstadt. Result - 150 is not felt at all) My wife didn’t allow me to do more, but I don’t need to. I'm delighted with the tires. Both stability and controllability are much better.

If you want the car to drive well, switch to 185/65!

Granta is a relatively new front-wheel drive car, developed by VAZ on the basis of Kalina, and launched into production in 2011. Since that time, along with sedan-type models, the Lada Granta liftback began to be produced. The change of body did not affect the tire size, unlike the Sedan Sport modification.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the parameters of the tires used on these cars, and also present a small selection of models for winter and summer.

Basic tire sizes

In principle, to find out what size tires can be installed on a Lada Granta, just look at the passport or at the plate on the inside of the car door.

Nevertheless, we present to your attention a list of parameters that the manufacturer declares using the example of modifications of the 2018 release:

Modification Basic size Replacement options
2190 Sedan/1.6 16V R14 175/65 R14 185/60R15 195/50 and 185/55
2190 Sedan/1.6 8V R14 175/65 No options
2190 Sedan/1.6 16V Sport R15 185/55 R15 195/50R16 195/50
2191 Liftback/1.6 16V R14 175/65 R14 185/60R15 185/55
2191 Liftback/1.6 8V R14 175/65 R14 185/60R15 185/55

Tire pressure

We found out which tires are suitable for the Lada Granta - now we’ll figure out the pressure. A lot depends on it during the operation of tires, the purchase of which is one of the sources of expense for any car owner. The pressure must be constantly monitored so that the tires do not wear out too quickly.

Premature wear occurs when there is insufficient pressure, but over-pumping is also fraught with consequences.

  • If the pressure is regularly lowered by 0.5 Atm less than the norm for 14 radius of 1.9 Atm in the front, and 2.0 Atm in the rear, the tires will last 4 times less - plus fuel consumption increases.
  • With an even greater lack of pressure, the car may lose control and the braking distance increases.
  • If you drive for a long time on half-flat tires and then inflate them, the tire may simply explode.

Therefore, you need to have a pressure gauge on hand, take measurements from time to time (especially in winter), and if you need to pump up the wheels. The front and rear pair of tires should have the same pressure.

Specific indicators depend on the wheel size. Take, for example, the 195/50 profile, which is one of the replacement options for the LADA Sedan Sport. If this is a radius of 15, then the optimal pressure is 2.3 Atm, and at radius 16 you need to pump 2.4 Atm.

Selection of tires by model

Knowing the size of the “shoes”, all that remains is to choose the style. Any car should have two sets of tires: winter and summer. Winter tires are installed without waiting for frost, but when the thermometer regularly drops below +5 degrees.

To save on the purchase of winter tires, some drivers make the mistaken decision to drive all-season tires. Therefore, we will make a small digression and explain why this should not be done.

When and what tires are needed for a car?

Let’s say right away that there are no tires that behave stably in any conditions. Why then is the tire called all-season? Because of the tread, which must have a deep relief and grooves through which water, dirt, and slush can easily pass.

All-season tires are tires that are comfortable to drive in the off-season, when the air temperature varies from +7 to -10 degrees. It is often marked M+S (mud/snow), which confuses many.

But in fact, an all-season tire is a summer tire and is not suitable for year-round driving, even in the southern regions of the country.

  • All mud tires, and all winter tires, have an all-season tread. The only difference is in the rubber composition, which is designed for positive or negative wheel operation. On a winter tire, for better grip on icy roads, many thread-like sipes are made, which distinguishes it from all-season tires.
  • Studless winter tires are popularly called Velcro. On such tires, the car feels great in icy conditions, but when the temperature outside is consistently positive (above +6-7 degrees), it must be changed to summer shoes.
  • Winter tires are much softer, so if you try to drive them in the summer, they will wear out quickly. Studded tires are better suited for driving on snow, so when in winter you have to drive not on cleared asphalt, but on a country road, it is better to give preference to studded tires.
  • All year round, all-season vehicles are driven mainly by trucks and buses, on which changing wheels is a labor-intensive process, and besides, there are usually more than four of them. True, in severe frosts and snowfalls they have a hard time riding on such tires.

And one more important factor - for those who spend a lot of time behind the wheel. A tire for winter use is much softer than a summer one, but it is also noisy when driving, especially the studded one.

The summer one, and it is also an all-season one, in severe frosts “steals” and just rattles. And this is not to mention the fact that you will not so much ride on the ice as perform figure skating.

Winter tires on Lada Granta

Now let's see which winter tires to choose for the Lada Granta:

Viatti Brina Nordico

A relatively new model, developed by the German Continental together with Italian engineers, and launched into production at the facilities of the Nizhnekamsk tire plant.

An asymmetrical tread pattern, a combination of middle blocks with rows of studs along the edges and variable sidewall stiffness technology ensure safe movement and stability when cornering and when crossing uneven roads.

Toyo Observe Garit G3-Ice

Winter tires from the Japanese Toyo are deservedly considered one of the best. If previously only sellers and those who drove it knew about this, then a test carried out at the test site not so long ago left no doubt.

Observe Garit G3-Ice tires competed with the Finnish Hakkapeliitta-7, slightly inferior to it in snowy areas and taking the lead on the compacted track. Experts believe that the whole point is in the studs, which protrude beyond the surface of the tire by 1.2 mm more than normal.

Goodyear UltraGrip 600

Another new product. Atypical tread pattern - as is the case with all Goodyear models. Looking at it, you get the impression that a solid wheel is simply cut into grooves. They provide the tire with excellent handling in loose snow.

Another distinctive feature is the hexagon-shaped studs, which make it possible to quickly accelerate and brake safely.

Hankook W429 i Pike

Winter studded tires of different generations from the Korean manufacturer Hankook have long established themselves as an excellent combination of price and quality. The latest model has been slightly redesigned; the shape of some tread elements has slightly changed, although the symmetry of the pattern and directionality have been preserved.

Massive blocks on the sides replaced narrow ribs, and the tire began to work better in icy conditions.

The best models for summer

Now let's present several worthy summer models:

Bridgestone Ecopia EP150

The tread of this Japanese tire is developed using a new technology (NANO-PROTECH), which makes it possible to reduce the coefficient of rotational resistance and, as a result, save fuel consumption. Plus, the EP150 turned out to be lighter in weight and almost silent.

Nitto NT860

Another Japanese tire produced in Malaysia. Very soft rubber, perfectly balanced and brakes, thanks to the deep tread, self-cleaning from dirt and snow. With all this, the best thing is the low price.

Kormoran Impulser B2

Serbian Kormoran was developed using Michelin technology. The tire is stable when driving at speed, does not “float” if it gets into a puddle, has excellent grip on the road and is controlled when cornering.

Matador MP 47 Hectorra

The new generation summer tire from Slovenia MP-47 Hectorra performs excellently on both dry and wet surfaces thanks to its asymmetrical pattern with four deep longitudinal grooves.

Tread elements are optimized to the maximum, which improves acceleration and braking efforts and reduces noise levels.

Which winter tires are best for a car, or what to put on it for the summer, is, of course, up to the owner to decide. It all depends on what climate zone you have to use the car and what roads you drive on. And our information is designed to understand the characteristics of certain models and the advisability of their use.

Winter tires, which ones are better to choose??

For winter it is better to use winter "shoes". At the same time, studded tires from Goodyear, Pirelli, Michelin X-Ice are indispensable on poorly cleaned roads and in winter with frequent thaws and frosts, and also if you have to drive mainly on compacted snow. For residents of large cities who use the Lada Granta only for commuting to work, ordinary winter tires from such well-known companies as Hankook Goodyear, Cordiant, Continental, etc. are sufficient.

Winter tires must be soft in the contact area (for good traction) and hard at the base of the tread to ensure precise handling. New models entering the Russian market have these properties:

1. Goodyear UltraGrip Ice Arctic, UltraGrip 8 Performance, choice of sizes for Lada Granta: bore diameter from R13 to R17, width from 175 to 225 mm.

For studded winter tires to be good, all the studs must be the same height.

In order for studded tires to serve you for a long time, it is important to break them in correctly so that the studs stay in their seats.

For the first 500 km, you should drive without overloading, do not skid, do not brake sharply, and take turns in easy mode. You should be especially careful with spikes when driving on dry asphalt and across tram tracks and curbs.

When buying winter tires, you should not forget that tires get punctured more often in winter than in summer, and you cannot do without a winter spare tire.

Which winter tires are best for Granta? Which winter tires to choose for Granta?

For owners of a car brand such as the Lada Grant, with the arrival of winter, a problem arises with the correct choice of winter tires.

Everyone knows that it is better to start choosing winter tires early, so that the choice is thoughtful and balanced. So that during each season you don’t have to stand in long queues for tire fitting, you need to buy additional wheels, and as a result, you won’t waste time waiting in line and you can change the wheels yourself, which ultimately will help save money. Some experts say that urban On roads, you should not install tires with studs, but it is better to install Velcro tires. But with such a choice, it is worth considering how often the roads are cleared of snow drifts, and the roads are cleared even less often, and in such a situation it is better to opt for tires with spikes. Before you start choosing a winter tire, you need to look through a lot of useful information and listen to reviews from others car owners for various brands of winter tires.

After studying all the data, you can come to a conclusion and make a list of the most common and frequently used brands of winter tires for the Lada Grant. One can note such a German brand as Continental ConticleContact; among the Finnish brands, a brand called Nokian Hakkarelitta 7 stands out. A brand of tires such as Gislavde Nord Frost 5 is in even greater demand; this brand is produced by a subsidiary of Continental. A company from France that produces a brand of tires such as Michelin X-Ice North XIN2 is considered to be often used.

From time to time, tests are carried out in which different brands of tires are compared, and mainly the German and Finnish manufacturers are in the lead in these tests. That is, we can say with confidence that the best of the above brands are Nokian Hakkarelitta 7 and Continental ConticleContact. It is safe to say that the manufacturers of these tire brands occupied leading positions in previous years. Tires under the Gislavde brand are considered good tires, but they also have the disadvantage of a weak cord. If a wheel hits a curb, a bump will immediately appear on the tire. Michelin tires also have their positive and negative sides. The negative side is poor cross-country ability in deep snow and, accordingly, if you have to drive in areas where there is always a lot of snow, then you should not choose these tires.

Tires and wheels on Lada Granta: how and which ones to choose?

So, I’ll say right away that the information described below is solely my own opinion, because the article has been assigned the rank of author’s. The author is me, Kirill Sinich. I’ve owned a Lada Granta car for about six months now, and when purchasing it, of course, I needed a choice of both tires and wheels, because what comes from the factory is more than terrible.

So, let's start choosing disks. Disks can be stamped (the cheapest), cast (average in price and very diverse in assortment) and forged - the most expensive of the above. So, if you are absolutely not a car lover, then you can safely take the usual stampings for a 14 radius and start driving vigorously. These discs have no particular disadvantages except for their extremely dull appearance. The appearance of the car does not matter much to you - stamped wheels are for you! If you want a more interesting shape of disks than stamped holes, this is casting. Casting can be used to produce almost any shape of wheel, which is why the way your car looks is limited solely by the imagination of the designer who comes up with the wheel. In the modern world, you can find dozens of varieties of castings in car dealerships.

Of course, they all differ in composition, appearance, weight and price. Personally, I do not recommend buying wheels that are too light or have too much space between the spokes. The thinner the spokes and the smaller the distance between them, the greater the likelihood of their breakage. In addition, in winter, a heavier disc rows better, tested from personal experience, and the rare spokes in the disc are unlikely to give the latter a decent mass. All other parameters, such as color, spoke geometry, and their length, will not affect the driving properties of the car in any way. Another thing is disc ejection. Here you should adhere to the standard parameters of your car. Discs with offset put a load on the wheel bearings, thereby causing them to fail faster. As for forged wheels, they are usually a little heavier and, most importantly, have greater rigidity compared to cast ones. They are more protected from shock loads, and their service life exceeds the service life of cast and stamped discs. However, forging does not allow metal to be made into such a huge variety of shapes, so the choice of forged wheels is often smaller than cast ones. They are also distinguished by a higher price compared to other disks, but I believe that in most cases it is not justified. A little about radius: The radius of a disk determines its size. The grant comes standard with wheels with a radius of 14, and I strongly advise against increasing it. An increased radius usually has a negative impact on the car’s handling and driving characteristics. And increasing the radius does not provide any aesthetic component.

Now regarding tires for grants. The standard summer tires that come from the factory are quite tolerable. At speeds above a hundred it behaves quite stable, the grip is satisfactory. Therefore, it is worth thinking about replacing it in a few years - when the service life of summer tires comes to an end. Winter ones must be purchased immediately before the first winter, and here at tire retail outlets we see a great selection of studded and non-studded tires. The first piece of advice is to take your time and not buy what tire supermarket managers love to recommend. As a rule, in 99% of cases they are guided by their own interests, and do not want to make your car operation safer, while saving your budget as much as possible. First, let's deal with one of the most pressing questions of humanity:

What to choose for grants: Velcro or spikes?

In fact, if you are looking for a clear and definite answer for yourself, you will not find it here either. It does not exist in nature in principle. The choice between studs and Velcro should be based on the following principle: if in your locality there is more ice in winter than asphalt and snow slush, then your choice is in favor of studs. However, in most of Russia, the roads are richly fertilized with reagents and there is no ice on them. And on such asphalt, the best characteristics of handling, braking and acceleration will be shown by velcro tires. Why are they bad? It's actually not difficult to guess. On any climb, well seasoned with morning ice, such tires may turn out to be useless - you simply will not be able to climb it. Spikes provide clear advantages in this regard. But they lose on asphalt with reagents and snow porridge. So what to choose: slightly better handling on asphalt roads and the inability to climb even a simple icy hill, or slightly less stable handling, but confidence in conquering any icy obstacles? In my opinion, the answer is obvious. Handling in winter does not manifest itself in the same way, because any adequate driver does not make sudden maneuvers and easily controls the car on any tire, be it tires with spikes or Velcro. But often only spikes help you climb onto the icy surface, digging into the ice and preventing unnecessary slipping. But in any case, the choice is yours.

Now a few words about choosing a brand of winter tires for a grant. Personally, I have driven four brands of winter tires in my life. I will list them: Nokian Nordman4, Pirelli, Nokian Hakkapeliitta5 and Gislaved Nord Frost5. In fact, the brands listed are some of the most common in stores, and therefore used by motorists. Therefore, you can safely take one of these brands and be sure that they will not let you down in winter. But each of them has a number of features. The quietest brand presented is Gislaved Nord Frost 5. The noise is so insignificant that you get used to it within the first 10 minutes of driving. Pirelli are great at paddling on snow. I could easily drive it out of the snowdrifts. Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 is distinguished by its impeccable grip on almost any surface; Nokian Nordman 4 of all four did not stand out in any way and in my subjective rating rests quietly in fourth place. Which brand of tires to choose should be decided based on the tasks you are going to solve on the car. If your credo is the highway, I recommend Hakkapelita, but if you spend 90% of your time in the city - Gislaved 5 or Pirelli, and want to save on a couple of sausage sandwiches - take the Nordman. And good luck to you on the roads, be careful in winter!

Using automatic selection of tires and wheels for the car Lada Granta, you can avoid many problems associated with their compatibility and compliance with automaker recommendations. This is due to the significant role they play in ensuring a number of operational characteristics of any modern vehicle. In addition, one cannot fail to note the importance of tires and rims as active safety elements. That is why their choice should be approached as responsibly as possible, i.e. with knowledge of a number of parameters of these components.

Unfortunately, or, conversely, fortunately, a significant part of car enthusiasts prefer not to study the technical structure of their own car thoroughly. However, an automatic selection system will be extremely useful regardless of this, as it will minimize the likelihood of choosing the wrong rims or tires. And it is very wide, which is due to the diversity of the range of such products presented in the Mosavtoshina online store.
