Therefore, the second appearance of the Chinese concern on our market will be serious and for a long time. The Chinese passenger car BYD F3 was presented at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2005. The model debuted on the Russian market in 2007 as part of the World of Automobile 2007 auto show. It took a little more than a year to develop and put into production this model. Its appearance on the market caused a real revolution - in less than a year, more than 55 thousand BYD F3 appeared on the roads of China, which increased the total sales of BYD Auto by more than 4.5 times.

This C class sedan (overall dimensions 4533x1705x1490 mm) was originally created with an eye on the foreign market, and therefore taking into account the tastes of Europeans. The Toyota Corolla Altis, widely known in Southeast Asia, was taken as the basis.

The exterior is distinguished by chrome moldings, door handles and a radiator grill are in harmony with alloy wheels. Salon BYD F3 is distinguished by a decent level of assembly, trimmed with light-colored materials. Ergonomics of the driver's seat at the proper level. It brakes the car well, thanks to disc brakes on all wheels, ABS does not doze off and works on time. And yet, you can and should ride the BYD F3 calmly and smoothly, since this type of ride is what this model provides.

The BYD F3 sedan model is available in three trim levels: BYD F3 1.6 MT GLX-i, 1.6 MT G-i, 1.6 MT GL-i. The engine is only mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The basic modification includes: interior in velor trim, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, power steering, ABS with EBD, front airbags, central locking with remote control, seat belts with pretensioners. In addition, protection for passengers is provided by a reinforced body with energy-absorbing zones located on it. More expensive modifications are equipped with a full package of security systems, have leather trim with wooden inserts (top modification), CD player, climate control system, parking sensors. Corollas E120 / E130 2005-06 cost an average of 300-400 thousand rubles, but, of course, the Japanese are many times more reliable.

Decent appearance, generous equipment and reasonable price of the BYD F3 sedan and hatchback attract the attention of ordinary domestic motorists. But they (that is, us) are still scared off by only one nuance - the traditionally low quality of operation and the difficulty in replacing spare parts with Chinese-made cars.

The Chinese automaker BYD is developing at a leaps and bounds, even by Eastern national standards. With such a rapid commercial success, the technical side of the issue is solved simply - “ready-made Japanese Toyota” cars are taken, disassembled to the screw, all the details are carefully copied, the optics change a little, cheaper materials are used, all this is assembled “as best we can”, and its nameplate is hung ( logo design is pre-drawn with an eye on BMW). Everything - the novelty is ready.

Local buyers are attracted by the price, which in China is several times less than in Japanese counterparts. And such a trifle as problems with the quality of parts and assembly does not frighten the Chinese mass consumer. Perhaps, in the same China, things are different with the organization of maintenance, the availability and price of original parts, but so far this issue has not always been resolved by representatives and dealers in our country.

As you probably already guessed, the technical and design donor for the BYD F3 sedan was the Toyota Corolla Altis model, the main differences from which are the lighting design. The BYD F3R hatchback, in turn, is built on the basis of a sedan.

The interior arrangement of the sedan and hatchback is almost completely taken from the Corolla, not excluding the optotronic instrument cluster. The only Chinese amendment is for the anthropological dimensions of passengers, the organization of the driver's seat for a large person is cramped.

The body dimensions of the sedan are 4533 mm long, 1490 mm high and 1705 mm wide. Ground clearance - 17 mm, curb weight - 1207 kg, exact data on the size of the trunk could not be found (according to reviews, it is approximately 300 liters).

The BYD F3 and F3R models are equipped with an engine manufactured under license from Mitsubishi - a 1.5-liter with 99 hp. With.
The motor requires a consumption of 7-9 liters of fuel, depending on the mode, allows you to accelerate to 180 km / h and picks up speed of 100 km / h in 12.3 seconds.
Only a manual (5-speed) gearbox is installed on the BYD F3.

The most expensive BYD F3 GLX-i has front airbags, a sunroof, leather interior and automatic air conditioning (according to the manufacturer, it is called climate control) - from 420 thousand rubles. In the GL-i Standart configuration, there is a leather interior, airbags and air conditioning, there is no sunroof and climate control, they ask for a price of 415,000 rubles.
The price of the BYD F3R hatchback is from 349,000 rubles. Since BYD apparently does not have a unified pricing policy in Russia, prices from different dealers can vary significantly.
