What kind of oil to fill in Almera N16. Recommended engine oil for Nissan Almera. Lubricants for Nissan

Many motorists are wondering about choosing the most effective lubricants for Nissan cars. To make a competent choice, it is necessary to study the main characteristics of the vehicle and the conditions of use: type of power unit, mileage, climate.

As additional information, you can familiarize yourself with the tolerance indicated for a particular car model. Such information is registered in the service book for operation or they can be found on the global network. The most significant are ACEA and SAE approvals. As for the second, it indicates the viscosity class.

Selection by viscosity grade

Every experienced motorist is familiar with indicators such as 5w30, 10w40 and so on. These numbers indicate the temperature index for the use of motor fluid. The most popular markings in the domestic space are: SAE 0w-20 ° / + 35 ° C.

For countries with a cold climate, oils with SAE 5w30 indicators with temperatures from -30 ° to + 35 ° are most often used. In temperate zones, it is best to fill with SAE 5w fluid at an identical temperature. No less relevant is a lubricant with the characteristics of 5w40.

Do not ignore the ACEA approval. This indicator demonstrates compatibility with internal combustion engines. Passenger cars Nissan Qashqai, Primera, Almera, X-Trail, Tiida, Teana, Postfinder, Murano with left-hand drive work great on grease with A3 / B4 indicators.

These are standard views from the manufacturer Nissan with the marking 5w40. If it is not possible to use original products, experienced specialists recommend filling in oils from the company:

  • shell;
  • total;
  • Castrol;
  • Ultra;
  • Mobil;

First of all, you should pay attention to the tolerances, the reputation of the company and the final cost. However, if we talk about the price aspect, then for Nissan 5w40 oil you will have to pay around 2000-2300 rubles for a 5 liter canister. It is much cheaper than foreign analogues.

For passenger vehicles with a particulate filter, C4 - ACEA fluid is allowed. In this case, you can use an alternative lubricant from Liqui Moly.

Nissan sports cars require the use of oil with special characteristics. Typically, sports cars use compounds with a high level of viscosity - 10w50, 15w50. Owners of models such as Skyline or 350Z prefer to trust the opinions of service station professionals.

On such models, original products from Mobil, LM, Motul are most often used. Viscosity is selected according to the manufacturer's recommendations and the technical parameters of the engine. Climatic conditions also play an important role in the selection of efficient products.

Oil selection by Nissan models

Oil for Nissan Primera with gasoline engines GA16DS, SR20DI, SR20DE

For all types of power units with the specified parameters, it is recommended to use the following lubricants:

  1. branded lubricants from the vehicle manufacturer;
  2. liquids like SG, SF according to API classification;
  3. viscosity grade is selected according to climatic conditions and engine parameters.

If we are talking about the approximate volume of the product used, then for replacement you will need:

  • SR20DI - 3.2 and 3.4 liters, respectively;
  • GA16DS - 2.8 and 3.2 liters.

The choice according to the viscosity class is made according to the temperature conditions:

  • range from -25°C -10°C - 5w20;
  • from -25°C + 15°C - 5w30;
  • from -20°C + 40°C - 10w30.

It is best to use products with a viscosity grade of 10w30 in areas where temperatures exceed 20°C. For hot climates, oils with a viscosity of 20w50, 20w40 are used.

Qashqai

As for the use of lubricants for the Nissan Qashqai engine, special attention should be paid to the manufacturer's recommendations. Therefore, it is best to pour synthetic-based substances with a viscosity class of 5w40 into the power units of a car.

Since 4.5 liters are placed in the Qashqai 2.0 internal combustion engine system, it is necessary to purchase 5-liter canisters with original oil.

Nissan X-Trail

According to the performance characteristics of gasoline engines QR20DE, QR25DE, original Nissan fluids should be used for them:

  • according to the API system with classes SH, SG, in some cases SJ are used;
  • according to the ACEA 98B1 system;
  • ILSAC type GF1.

For temperatures from -30 ° C, 10w30 lubricants are used. For areas with a hot climate, it is necessary to use products with a viscosity of 20w40.

A dry Nissan X-Trail engine will need about 4.5 liters of oil. About 3.5 liters will go with the base liquid.

Nissan Beetle

Power units HR16DE running on gasoline need to be filled with grease with the characteristics and requirements:

  • original products from the manufacturer of the car or a foreign analogue;
  • high quality according to the SL, SM - API system;
  • compliance with ACEA standards;
  • quality standards ILSAC GF4, GF3;
  • viscosity class according to climatic conditions.

For diesel-powered Nissan Juke power units, fluid is used:

  • from a car manufacturer
  • according to the class of the ACEA system - C4;
  • according to the SAE classification, the viscosity of the oil should be 5w30;
  • low-ash mixtures "Low SAPS".

Any replacement of a lubricant product with diesel fuel will not do without 4.4 liters, and taking into account the oil filter 4, 24 liters.

Nissan Teana

According to the performance characteristics of the car, the manufacturer recommends filling in branded oil. The manual instructions describe the parameters: viscosity, class, type and features of use.

After a thorough study of the parameters, you can proceed to the choice of motor lubricant, taking into account:

one). The season when the liquid can be applied. Experts do not recommend pouring individual products for summer or winter. It is better to use off-season oils, since they can be used both in winter and in summer. However, any type of mixture used has its own characteristics, additives and flow rates;

2). The basic basis of the substance taken. It is not recommended to use mineral fluids on Nissan Teana units. Uninterrupted operation is ensured only thanks to synthetic and semi-artificial lubricants;

3). The presence of special markings on the oil canister, demonstrating certain characteristics and properties for a particular type of motor.

Teana L33 2014 release

According to the performance characteristics of the car, experts recommend using QR25DE for units:

  • original mixture from Nissan;
  • API quality standard SM, SN, SL;
  • quality level from ILSAC - GF5, GF4, GF3.

As for the filling volume of the lubricant product on the power devices VQ, QR, it is 4.3 liters, and taking into account the filter 4.6 liters.

Nissan Tiida 2004-2014 release

According to the designated instructions for Nissan Tiida models with MR18DE, HR16DE engines, special types of fluid must be used:

  • branded lubricants from Nissan or similar oils from foreign manufacturers;
  • ACEA quality - class A1B1, C2C3;
  • ILSAC standards - lubricant product GF4, GF3;
  • API standards - types SM, SL.

The viscosity level is selected according to climatic conditions.

Nissan Almera

Manufacturers advise using branded Nissan oil with a viscosity level of 5w30 or 5w40. These indicators correspond to synthetic-based products for off-season use. The filling capacity is 4 liters.

You can also use foreign analogues:

  • Total Future 5w30;
  • Mobil 5w40;
  • Petro-Canada 5w30.

Any use of oil for a Nissan car should be considered and verified. You should not purchase lubricants that do not match the parameters of the internal combustion engine system, as this can lead to wear and complete deformation of the motor.

The history of the Almera lineup from Nissan begins in 1995 with the release of the first generation of the car. Almera N15 was produced specifically for the European market and quickly occupied a vacant niche among budget C-class cars. The 15th series of the model was designed to replace the outdated Nissan Sunny and, according to its data, almost exactly repeated the Nissan Pulsar. The popularity of the car came for its highest build quality and excellent driving performance. All this was complemented by a pleasant price and a comfortable interior, thanks to which the novelty fit perfectly into the competitive struggle in the market on a par with the Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia, Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Corolla and Opel Astra.

Belonging to the “golf” category was confirmed by the installation of simple in-line fours under the hood until 2000. So, the first Almera was equipped with gasoline units with a displacement of 1.4 and 1.6 liters, as well as one 2-liter diesel engine, which soon acquired a gasoline counterpart. The power of the installations ranged from 87 to 143 hp, while they were unpretentious to oil. About what kind of oil was poured into the engines and how much, you can find out further in the article. The N15 generation was produced in 2 stages: from 1995 to 1998 and from 1998 to 2000. Basically, the version differed in appearance changes.

In 2000, the N16 generation took the place of the 15th Almeria. Serial production continued until 2006 and included the release of models in sedan and hatchback bodies with 3 and 5 doors. The first update took place in 2003, after which the car received a new bumper, new headlights and a replenishment of the engine line with a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Petrol modifications included versions of 1.5, 1.8 liters, as well as a turbodiesel with a volume of 2.2 liters. Only the 1.8 engine worked with automatic transmission, while all the rest received manual transmissions.

Cars of the Renault Nissan concern are distinguished by good performance and build quality. Motorists really got acquainted with Nissan cars back in the 90s of the last century, when used automotive equipment was actively imported to Russia. Since then, the army of fans of cars from this manufacturer has been growing steadily.

How Nissan Almera Classic appeared in Russia

It is noteworthy that the Nissan Almera N16 was designed by Nissan, although in 1999 Nissan and Renault had already merged. The Korean company Samsung Motors, being one of the divisions of Renault, was engaged in the starting launch into production. The industrial production of the first generation Nissan Almera N16 began in 2000 and continued until 2003, when the model was restyled.

These inexpensive and practical cars were built on the N16 platform, which was used in the design of the Nissan Primera P12 and Nissan Almera Tino. On the territory of Russia, the Nissan Almera Classic N16 officially began to be imported from 2006 and was sold until 2013.

After some time, the third generation Nissan Almera Classic was assembled in Russia, which had the G15 index. The car is still produced at the plant in Togliatti.

Nissan Almera Classic G15 was created on a symbiosis of two platforms - L90 from Renault Logan and L11K from Nissan. The presented videos show the interior and exterior of the car. The exterior is taken from the L11K - the second generation Japanese Nissan Bluebird Sylphy. The car has a presentable European look and is sold out very quickly. Despite the fact that 20 thousand cars were produced during 2013, and since 2014 about 50 thousand have been produced during the year, the demand for this model is very high and exceeds supply.

Lubricants for Nissan

What engine oil should be used for the Nissan Almera Classic G15 and N16 so that its replacement affects the operation of the engine only in a positive way? The fact is that each of these cars has its own engine. For example, in the Nissan Almera Classic H16 there are QG15DE units (1.5 l, 98 hp) or QG18DE (1.8 l, 116 hp). Nissan Almera G15 is equipped with K4M from Renault, 1.6 liters, 16 valves, 102 hp. With. This is the only engine that is equipped with a Russian-made machine. All three engines are 4-cylinder and have 16 valves.

2013 Nissan Almera

What oil is better to pour in Nissan Almera G15? Engine oil should be filled with the following characteristics: according to SAE it should be 5W30, in warm climates it is allowed to replace it with an all-weather 10W30 or 15W30. The first digit means the temperature range of use, more precisely, the minimum temperature at which the oil does not thicken. The lower the number, the lower temperatures the lubricant composition remains liquid.

The second digit is an indicator of the viscosity and reliability of the film that engine oil forms on the surface of rubbing parts. The higher the number, the more durable and stable, without tearing, the film is formed. In new motors, a viscosity of 30 is enough. Over time, with high mileage, it is desirable to increase the viscosity of the oil to 40-50.

API quality class: SL, SM. This means that an engine oil with these characteristics is designed for multi-valve and turbocharged engines. The SL class is designed for engines manufactured after 2001, and the SM class is for power units after 2004. SM grade lubricants are better quality and wear resistant.

ACEA quality class: AZ/VZ. This means that the lubricant is resistant to mechanical degradation and has high performance. Should be used in highly accelerated gasoline engines and has extended intervals between shifts.

2000 Nissan Almera

What engine oil is required for Nissan Almera Classic and N16? The engine should be filled with a lubricant that has the same SAE characteristics - 5W30, in cold winters 0W30 should be used, in warm climates it can be replaced with an all-weather 10W30 or 15W30.

According to the API standard, here are more modest characteristics, SG, SH, SJ. These lubricants are designed for older engines - from 1996 and later. Lubricants with such parameters have good resistance to the formation of deposits and soot, and are also able to maintain their properties at low temperatures. ACEA quality class: 96-A2. These are standard grade lubricants.

The conclusion is as follows: since the K4M engine is more modern, compared to the QG15DE and QG18DE, the requirements for the lubricant composition for it are much more stringent. That is, lubricants designed for K4M can also be successfully used for older engines, since their characteristics are better. The videos presented on the Internet clearly explain the decoding of the markings of lubricant compositions.

The procedure for replacing the lubricant composition

How much lubricant does a Nissan Almera Classic G15 need to replace? According to the specifications, a volume of 4.8 liters of oil is required. It is best to use the original Nissan 5W30. The replacement of the lubricant in the Nissan Almera Classic N16 is carried out in the presence of 2.7 liters of lubricant in a 1.5-liter engine. This is according to the passport, but in practice a slightly larger amount of lubricant is needed, up to 3 liters.

After what mileage does the lubricant need to be replaced? For the Nissan Almera G15, the passport mileage is 10,000 km for synthetics. Semi-synthetic oil needs to be changed every 6000 km. In practice, taking into account Russian operating conditions and fuel quality, synthetic lubricants should be replaced after 7-8 thousand, and semi-synthetics - after 5000 km of run. This will ensure that the engine is in excellent condition.

In the Nissan Almera Classic N16, it is supposed to change the lubricant composition every 15,000 km. But for this car, it is best to carry out the procedure twice as often as above. The order in which the lubricant is changed is almost the same for both cars.

Before replacing, you need to prepare: a container where the used oil will be drained, a set of wrenches, an oil filter puller or a wrench with a very wide grip, rags and a brush, lubricating fluid in the required amount, as well as a new original oil filter from Nissan and a new copper gasket for the drain plug.

  1. The car drives into a viewing hole or overpass, the engine is warmed up. In some videos, the car is raised on a lift, but this is the worst option, because in the raised state you can’t get close to the hood of the car, and you have to lower it, then raise it.
  2. The hood rises and the filler plug is unscrewed, where the lubricant composition will subsequently be poured.
  3. Under the car, in the engine crankcase, a drain plug is unscrewed for a couple of turns. Before this, it is necessary to clean the surface of dirt. A container is substituted, the cork is quickly unscrewed, freeing the drain hole. Be careful not to get hot liquid on your hands.
  4. It takes some time to wait until all the grease has flowed out of the hole. There is also good advice - in order to completely remove grease residues from the crankcase, you need to take a large-volume syringe and put a thin hose on it, running its end into the bottom of the crankcase. From there it will be possible to get another 200-300 ml of the dirtiest, used lubricating fluid.
  5. After all the lubricant has drained out, the drain plug with a new copper gasket is screwed into its seat.
  6. Next, the old filter is unscrewed with a puller. It is required to substitute the container again, because some amount of lubricant will again flow out of the mounting hole and from the filter.
  7. Lubricant is poured into the new filter, a little more than half the volume, and the rubber gasket is lubricated with oil. The new filter is screwed into the installation hole, while tightening it too much is not worth it.
  8. A new lubricant is poured into the filler neck in the required amount indicated above for each engine. Periodically, the level is checked with a dipstick until it reaches the middle between the minimum and maximum.
  9. The engine starts and runs for several minutes so that the lubricant evenly fills the entire lubrication line. The oil pressure light should go out. After that, the lubrication level is checked again with a dipstick. Top up a little if necessary.

On the videos presented on the Internet, you can see the process of changing the lubricant clearly. The procedure is simple, even a novice driver can handle it. Now the car can be operated until the next replacement.
