In August this year, it was reported that Daewoo Matiz Creative M300 (also the name of the model in question) began to be mass-produced in the summer of 2010 at GM Uzbekistan. I couldn't find it on the company's website. Actually, as in principle, it was not possible to find specific information on the sale, or at least the price, for the new Matiz 2009 (2010) in the CIS.

An urban budget car from a Korean company, this car was produced from 2003 to 2009 exclusively for the Korean market. Daewoo Lacetti is the same, but just under a different brand.

The model was no different from the version from the company, but although for the first year in all countries it was sold under the Daewoo brand, and only then under this brand it went to conquer the Korean market, and came to our market under the Chevrolet brand. There was a premium version, which did not appear immediately, and a little later it was radically different in appearance, but in fact it was bearing this name, but in the premium version. In 2013, this car was updated and entered the world market, but already under the name.

Design

The appearance of the car is not bad, but it is clear that this is a budget car, since there are no elements that speak of high cost. The front end has simple halogen headlights, between which is a small chrome grille. The bumper is quite massive, in its lower part there is an air intake and fog lights.


The profile looks good too. It stands out with well-inflated arches, but they have small wheels. Also on the side of the car is decorated with a wide molding painted in body color. The back has a wide chrome decorative insert. It also has a no less massive bumper and beautiful headlights.

The interior of the Daewoo Lacetti is exactly the same as that of a colleague from another manufacturer. 4-spoke steering wheel with buttons to control the multimedia system. The steering wheel itself is sheathed in leather, but only in more expensive trim levels. The dashboard has clear analog instruments, on which everything is intuitive.

The center console has air deflectors on top, below is a standard multimedia system, which most likely you will not find on the secondary market, since buyers have replaced it a long time ago. Even lower is a small display and a climate control selector, and the display shows the selected settings. There is a large armrest and cup holder.

  2. The 1.6-liter unit has a capacity of 110 forces and accelerates the car to hundreds in 10.7 seconds. The maximum speed is 187 km / h, and the consumption is also 9 liters in the city. This motor can be paired with both manual and automatic transmission, it all depends on the choice of the buyer.
  3. The latest engine has a volume of 1.8 liters and it produces 122 forces, while it can accelerate the car to hundreds in 9.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 195 km / h, and the model consumes almost 10 liters. Also, like the previous motor, it can be paired with a manual and automatic transmission.

The suspension of the car is completely independent and everywhere it is on springs. The model stops with the help of disc brakes, but only the front ones are ventilated.


In general, the Daewoo Lacetti is a good model, if the brand is not important to you, then in the secondary market it will cost you less than it is under the Chevrolet brand. If you like the model, then feel free to purchase and do not think about anything.

Daewoo Lacetti was the first model developed by the Korean firm. The debut of the model took place in November 2002 at the Seoul Motor Show. The name of the car "Lacertus" in Latin means energy, power, strength, youth. Korean manufacturers slightly corrected the word, and it turned out Daewoo Lacetti.

Daewoo Lacetti has a very modern appearance, in addition, its special design makes the car recognizable in the traffic. Due to the characteristic Daewoo cars have long had their own ancestral trait. In addition to it, there are large transparent headlights, sharply cut edges and wheel arches, which are outlined this time very clearly. The progenitor of the Daewoo Lacetti was the Nubira, which had a slightly different front design, hood and bumpers. In the European market, buyers can find Daewoo Lacetti in a hatchback body, which, accordingly, completely changes the back. The Giugaro studio was responsible for the exterior of this car.

As a basis, I took the front-wheel drive platform from the predecessor car, in addition, they also borrowed the engine, box and some other components. However, in addition to the Nubirov gasoline engines of 1.6 and 1.8 liters, Lacetti received a 1.4-liter power unit, the power of which reaches 92 “horses”.

Light colors were chosen for the interior of the cabin, which allow the car to appear somewhat larger than it is inside. In the decoration, it was decided to abandon the pretentious and newfangled, however, in general, the appearance is very decent. Even the basic version assumes the presence of plastic trim in two color options. Gray is used at the bottom, and warm beige is used at the top. Landing for the driver chose the best. The seats are comfortable, all controls are at hand. The plastic trim, which is not only pleasing to the eye, but also to the touch, harmonizes with the soft velor seats. There are no problems with reading the scales, the steering wheel does not block them, in addition, its inclination can be adjusted. The devices are located quite simply, but at the same time it is very easy for the eye. The visor allows you to get rid of glare in daylight. In the central frontal part, you can see a console on which a radio tape recorder, a unit that controls the air conditioner, can be located. It is worth noting that the new Daewoo Lacetti took care of ergonomics.

The new Lacetti model will fight for the European buyer with the highest level of equipment. In addition to the "mechanics" for engines of 1.6 and 1.8 liters, customers will be offered an adaptive five-speed automatic, which is controlled electronically. As standard, there are 5 three-point type seat belts, front and side airbags, ABS, disc brakes on all wheels.

Lacetti can be called a major step for Daewoo. The company is clearly trying to improve their cars. Brother Lacetti - Daewoo Lacetti Premiere further emphasizes the modern notes in the design of the line, a decent level of assembly and a solid set of options. In addition, a significant number of engines to choose from makes the car a serious competitor for other manufacturers.

I bought my Daewoo Lacetti, and I still do not regret it. Judge for yourself, the automatic transmission is Japanese, it works like clockwork, climate control is super in summer, cozy and warm in winter. It is worth pressing the "Auto" button, and the climate automatically selects the mode. On the track, a feeling of complete comfort, the car lies on the track and sails like a ship. The machine is equipped with a rain sensor, auto-start of the engine, auto-corrector of headlights, and note that all this is a factory equipment of the machine. The Korean assembly of the car is felt, unlike the Chevrolet Lacetti, it is fundamentally different, although the Chevrolet is the same Daewoo, only of European assembly, all original spare parts are marked with the Daewoo brand. I changed the timing belt, ball bearings, everything is available in the store, at inexpensive prices, despite the fact that the engine is 1.5 106 l / s, these engine parameters were made for the domestic market of Korea. The acceleration dynamics of the car is excellent, which is super for a machine. Good acoustics, head unit MP3 and cassettes, steering wheel controls. As far as I know, on many cars in Germany, Japan, there are CD-recorders, this is at best, and at worst, a cassette version. Of course, I was more fortunate, from the previous owner I got the Clarion, a 2-din one, just super. I can summarize my review like this, I had cars of the following brands: Volkswagen Passat, Mazda 626, Suzuki Baleno, Daewoo Lacetti - this is the best option both in terms of dynamics and comfort

Good day. So, in March 2011, the question arose of buying a car. I chose for a long time, “shoveled” all possible sites. Really like Renault Laguna. But one day, out of interest, I looked at the announcements for the sale of the Lacetti, figured out that the price-quality ratio of the car was at the level. But the fact is that there are very few Lacetti in Belarus and I did not even hope to find such a car. And then he came - the very day when I arrived at the car market, and immediately began to rush along the rows, looked at all the Lagunas, and it was especially insulting when they were taken away from under my very nose. Having suffered, and trampled all his legs, he noticed Daewoo Lacetti in the corner and immediately remembered how one evening he thought that it would be nice to find one. Running to the car, talking with the seller, assessment, long bargaining, test drive, I liked everything. And here it is - happiness. I'm happy, "like an elephant", I'm going home. Engine 1.8 (122 hp) - rides well and is economical at the same time. I am very pleased with the presence of all sorts of functions, for example: a rain sensor, a 5-disc changer, climate control, automatic folding side mirrors, a multifunction steering wheel and much more. True, the trunk is small. The former owner was a young German woman and, judging by the state of the car, very neat. The salon is very clean. And besides, no matter what happens (even such an event as a burnt out light bulb) drove her to the branded service station. It turned out that this branded service station turned out to be "opelevskiy", that's the story. In the near future I'm going to put new wheels, adjust the front end with cilia and a new grille.

Advantages : comfort. Dynamics. Spaciousness. Nice design.

Flaws : the trunk is small.
