Great Wall Safe: A Chinese SUV with a Japanese past. Great Wall Safe: specifications Advantages and disadvantages: Great Wall Safe owners reviews

Great Wall Safe entered the assembly line in 2002. In July 2004, deliveries to Russia began. In mid-2005, Great Wall Safe began to be assembled in Russia (in Gzhel near Moscow). Cars could be either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The technical base of the second generation Toyota 4Ranner (1989) was taken as the basis. A sample of the Russian assembly received a different frame and chassis - one with the Great Wall Hover. It is distinguished by an increased cabin height - due to the floor located 4 cm lower. The rear brakes became disc, and the parking brake lever moved to the central tunnel. In the Chinese version, it was located to the right of the steering wheel.

Engine

There is only one engine - GW491QE with a volume of 2.2 liters and a power of 105 hp. It is a licensed copy of the Toyota 4Y engine, but differs in settings and equipment. The power unit meets Euro-2 toxicity standards, and since the end of 2007 - Euro-3. The updated motor received the index 491QE-3 and a number of changes that affected the block, pistons and electronic equipment.

The Japanese original engine was considered indestructible, but its copy was not so hardy. For example, on SUVs manufactured before 2007, there are cases of crankshaft destruction.

The camshaft often fails - the oil pump drive gear and cams wear out. Damage to the gear in the future threatens to drop the pressure in the lubrication system, premature engine wear or even jamming. Luckily, diagnosing the problem is pretty easy. To do this, look under the oil pump drive cover. Wear was detected after 80-120 thousand km, and after 200-250 thousand km. The cost of a new camshaft is from 3,000 rubles, and an analogue from Toyota is 23,000 rubles.

The head gasket resource is about 100-150 thousand km. Soon you have to change the stretched timing chain (from 5,000 rubles per set).

And due to a faulty cooling system (radiator, thermostat, pump or fan), it is easy to overheat the engine, which leads to damage to the block head (13,000 rubles).

After 150-200 thousand km, oil consumption often increases. In the end, you have to update the pistons and rings. In the case of Euro-3 engines, it is difficult to find the necessary rings.

Transmission

Transmission - mechanical 5-speed. The clutch is brought to change after 100-150 thousand km. For careful drivers, it is able to cover 200-250 thousand km. A new kit is available for about 7,000 rubles.

After 150-200 thousand km, in some cases, the box fails. Repair costs will exceed 20,000 rubles.

All-wheel drive system

Great Wall Safe uses a "Part Time" all-wheel drive system - with a hard-wired front axle. But for this you need to get out of the car to turn on the "hub" on each hub.

Russian copies received electric control of the transfer case. Therefore, the place of the lever was taken by the rotary switch of transmission modes. But to connect the front-wheel drive, you still need to turn on the hubs manually.

Since 2007, the transmission has gained full electronic control with automatic switching of hubs. True, the reliability of the system has fallen dramatically due to capricious servos and poorly protected wiring.

Cardan shafts require regular maintenance - lubrication. Otherwise, the crosses quickly fail (500 rubles apiece). If it breaks the slots or seats of the crosses (due to frequent replacements), then the cardan will have to be updated - 11,000 rubles.

Sometimes you have to restore the rear axle gearbox. The cost of a new gearbox is 15-18 thousand rubles.

Chassis

The front axle is equipped with an independent torsion bar suspension on double wishbones. Rear - spring with a continuous axle on four trailing arms and Panhard rod.

The first in the front suspension are the lower ball bearings - closer to 100-120 thousand km. The cost of a ball joint is 500-600 rubles. Arm bushes and upper ball joints tend to last longer.

A little later, you may need to replace the front wheel bearings (from 800 rubles) and shock absorbers (1,500 rubles). Over time, the rear springs sag or even break (about 4,000 rubles).

In the steering of the Great Wall Safe of the Russian assembly, a rack and pinion mechanism began to be used, instead of the steering gear. The steering rack is less hardy, sometimes it starts to leak or knock. The cost of a new original rail is 9,000 rubles.

Many owners note the insufficiently efficient operation of the brake system. The problem is solved by installing a vacuum booster and a master brake cylinder from Toyota Land Cruiser 80. True, such a kit costs a little less than 50,000 rubles new. The original Chinese kit is much cheaper - 9,000 rubles.

With age, one has to deal with wedging of the caliper piston, as well as acidification of the caliper guides and the brake force regulator.

Body and interior

Body iron Safe received insufficiently good protection against corrosion. Problem areas are the bottom of the doors, wheel arches, the floor in the area of the handbrake lever and thresholds. The frame is made of more resistant iron, but the VIN number is still better protected.

The intricate trunk access scheme is blindly copied from the original from the 80s. If you want to put something in the trunk, you have to lower the tailgate. But first you need to open the glass and pull the handle from the inside.

A capricious door electric control unit can interfere with free access to the trunk. It is located in the left rear fender. In addition, the geared glass drive sector wears out.

Other problems and malfunctions

The generator in some cases needs to be repaired after 100-150 thousand km. The cost of a new generator is about 5,000 rubles.

Often the speed indicator and mileage counter stop working. The reason is a faulty speed sensor or a failure of the dashboard. A new instrument panel is available for 4,500 rubles.

Not without failures in the operation of the air conditioning system - the heater fan wears out (from 2,000 rubles), the heater rheostat fails (over 1,000 rubles) or the climate control panel (9,000 rubles).

It is worth noting that there are enough minor problems with the electrician. First of all, they are caused by rapidly deteriorating wiring and oxidation of contacts.

Conclusion

The Great Wall Safe is the most affordable midsize SUV on the aftermarket. True, in terms of quality, in some places it does not even reach domestic cars. The car is suitable for caring drivers who are mentally prepared to eliminate all kinds of malfunctions.

Great Wall Safe debuted in 2002.

The mid-size SUV Safe looks like a second-generation Toyota 4Runner, especially this fact is emphasized by the side windows that go to the roof. However, these cars cannot be called a direct “photocopy”. Structurally, Great Wall Safe is 95% unified with Toyota. First of all, appearance. The body is almost identical to the donor. The Chinese have redesigned the front of the car in accordance with current standards. The headlights, the radiator grille, the front bumper, and, of course, the manufacturer's emblem have changed - now it is one of the battlements of the Great Wall of China enclosed in an oval. And in the exterior of the car, appropriate chrome was added. Safe has a very high landing (according to the passport to the crankcase 26 cm).

Drive Great Wall Safe - full, with a rigidly connected front axle. Note that there is also a rear-wheel drive version. Both versions are equipped with a 2.3-liter R4 8V gasoline engine GW491QE with a capacity of 105 hp. coupled with a five-speed manual transmission. This power unit is interesting in that it is a licensed version of the very popular "Toyota" engine, known from past generations of Toyota Camry. The pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft and cylinder block remained unchanged in it, but the timing mechanism and the block head are of its own, Chinese production. This intervention slightly deformed the power unit, but made it possible to refuel the SUV with AI-92 gasoline and reduced the overall load on the unit. In a combined driving cycle, according to the manufacturer, Great Wall Safe will be quite satisfied with 9-11 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

Chassis frame structure, galvanized body, front suspension independent torsion bar, rear dependent spring.

If we talk about comfort, then the Great Wall Safe has it at a completely acceptable level. Salon with a front panel, decorated with an overlay for aluminum, looks pretty soundly. Even the markings of the scales were made similar to the battlements of the wall, which is on the Safe logo. Torpedo and dashboard are made of inexpensive plastic. The seat position can be adjusted in terms of length, backrest angle, as well as the inclination of the front of the cushion and lumbar support. The steering column is tilt-adjustable, and the steering wheel itself is sheathed in leather. The second row of seats is folded in a ratio of 50:50, and first you need to fold the pillow, and then put the back in its place. At the end of the procedure, we get a flat platform for cargo, almost two meters long and a couple of thousand liters in volume. The luggage compartment and in the standard position is very spacious.

The basic package includes a hydraulic booster, climate control, central locking, electric windows and mirrors, an audio system with CD, and for a fee, a plug-in all-wheel drive, leather trim, and metallic paint are offered.

The plug-in all-wheel drive (permanent rear-wheel drive), a lower range of gears, together with a high and reliable suspension, provide Safe with the highest cross-country ability. Plus a powerful frame, 205 mm of ground clearance and huge 235/75R15 wheels.

The results of the Safe crash test confirmed that the car fully complies with European safety requirements. The tests were carried out in accordance with UNECE European Regulation No. 94 (frontal impact on a deformable obstacle with 40% overlap at a speed of 56 km/h). The data obtained during the crash test proved that Great Wall Safe fully complies with European requirements.

For the domestic market, models similar in design to the 2005 model year Pegasus SUV are offered with the original front design from the Socool C3 pickup and Sing SUV, stylized as the Nissan Paladin SUV popular in China. As an option, these models are also equipped with a 2.8-liter diesel engine developing 78 hp.

Great Wall Safe, 2007

Yes, Chinese. So what? Normal machine for your money. At least not to compare with the native auto industry. So: reliability - well, more or less normal, it drives, starts at minus 25, it's warm inside, the windows do not freeze over. In summer, the air conditioner cools (who remembers how to stand in a traffic jam on the Niva) it’s good here, it doesn’t stall, it doesn’t heat up, stop yourself and stop, listen to music. I broke the back of the passenger seat - funny? This has never happened on any car, well, everything happens - a solution, we take a piece of iron and fix it in the right place - there is no adjustment, but the wife is happy. On the chassis, on the engine - no problems. Driving performance - it shakes always and everywhere, if not on the autobahn, but we don’t have autobahns, but on a decent road, it’s even pleasant - it floats. In this case, the track is not a track going in the right direction. And most importantly - if you are a fisherman or a hunter, this car is for you. If you are building a house or a dacha, this is your choice, because in the Great Wall Safe you can sleep comfortably together, you can carry building materials in incredible quantities (20 bags of cement plus some other little things) without any problems on any road, but not fast. Patency - if you managed to put on bridges - a tractor, best of all "Kirovets". And if with acceleration, in tightness - we have no barriers, but on "jeep" tires.

Advantages : permeability. Reliability. Unpretentiousness in everything.

disadvantages : shaking.

Great Wall Safe, 2008

I ran 64 thousand 1300 km in a year and a half - the windshield flowed. For all the time re-pasted 6 times, changed twice. It leaked again at the time of sale. 1450 km antifreeze began to ooze from the nozzles and between the gaskets. 2000 km - the stove began to air, the boot of the CV joint, internal, was torn, and mechanical damage was excluded - marriage. The first problems with the “shaitanka” appeared, the rear window stopped lowering from the key. The heated rear window broke. 6500 km the CV joint anthers broke again, now both at once. The gears in the checkpoint began to turn on badly, 4WD stopped turning on completely. Rust appeared around the windshield, a crack appeared in the body behind the air filter housing (at the time of sale it was more than 15 cm). The battery died. 10000 put HBO. From the moment of installation until the sale, it did not work normally, the reason was never found, the engine began to sweat with oil. 16,000 km - the cylinder head gasket pierced. After 30,000 km relatively quiet life. Problems with electrics, HBO, cv joint anthers, “shaitanka” were perceived more as entertainment. 46,000 km - the clutch whistled, the officials only asked for 10 thousand for work. Other services refused, fearing that their car would freeze. I did it myself, I had to replace the clutch release, I put it with a Moskvich. Also found torn to shreds anther gearshift lever. I changed the oil in the transmission, I didn’t see such blackness even on a UAZ with a mileage of 120 thousand 50,000 km - the power steering rattled, the tensioner bearings whistled. All shock absorbers are leaking. 64,000 km - the stove gurgled again, the cylinder head pierced, the HBO stopped working altogether. At the time of the sale, Great Wall Safe needed to be replaced: shock absorbers, front universal joint, left joint, front brake discs, windshield replacement, etc. For about 200-250 thousand Great Wall Safe took a loan and had to work on it to pay it off. For a year and a half, I lost all customers, because. I was never sure whether it would start in the morning or not, whether it would go fine or have to be dragged to the service. Sold for next to nothing, just to pay off the bank. Having lost about 300 thousand, I remember that period like a bad dream.

Advantages : No.

disadvantages : continuous problems.

Great Wall Safe, 2007

Bought a Great Wall Safe in 2013 for a six year old with 108,000 miles on it. The choice fell by chance, I wanted something big, frame. Prior to that, he owned a 2008 Ford Fiesta (1.3 manual transmission 80 hp), a 2009 Chevrolet Lacetti, traveled a lot on Corsa and Mazda (2011 and 2008, respectively). With these machines and will compare. The appearance of the Great Wall Safe, of course, is brutal, but comfort is present, especially in comparison with the Fiesta. Surprisingly, I did not find a single cricket, everything is quiet, you can talk. Of course, the motor is rather weak, but it’s quite enough for the city, and the consumption for such a giant (weight is almost 2 tons) is impressive, according to BC it showed 13-14 in winter with warm-ups, in summer 11.5-12.5 (I pour 92, I live in Moscow, i.e. traffic jams eat). The Chinese are great, they know how to stuff budget cars with electrics, everything that should work on a 6-year-old Chinese worked, except for the rear power window, but it was replaced by Toyota, now it drops in any frost. Compared to the Fiesta, low-end traction is excellent, but acceleration is inferior to Mazda and Lacetti, but this is not required from a budget jeep. Regarding breakage, don't believe people who say that everything breaks down, compared to the cars that I owned earlier, there is no difference. I changed a couple of suspension parts, changed the glass (smashed) - surprisingly, the price of glass (front passenger) is 570 rubles, which cannot but rejoice, well, oil with filters. All spare parts do not differ in price from Zhiguli, "bodywork" is cheap. I don’t understand why they stopped producing them, if asked, I would advise a friend - definitely yes, for the price of a new Priora you will get a frame SUV, albeit a 4-5 year old, but this is a completely different car. If I could buy Great Wall Safe again, I would buy it, the car is good.

Advantages : respect on the road (after the Fiesta, this is the first thing that caught my eye). Cheap parts. Full power accessories, including razdatka "twist". Small expense.

disadvantages : very weak paintwork. The motor could have been made faster, but it’s not enough for racers.

Great Wall Safe, 2008

Bought Great Wall Safe in October 2008. Even at the moment when I had already started my car at the car dealership, I doubted my choice very much, but after driving the first kilometer I realized that after the 31st Niva I like it. I was especially pleased with the opportunity to listen to the radio at minimum volume at any speed. I note that I drive the “Chinese” mercilessly, I don’t particularly care, I used to overload. Most of the mileage at work, incl. over long distances. I refused dealer maintenance for 15 thousand km. Now the run has already exceeded 100 thousand km. Pluses of Great Wall Safe - a rich complete set. Large cargo capacity. Good brakes. Very comfortable front seats - noted by many, the back never got numb even during non-stop flights of more than 500 km. The heater heats very well, and the windows inside do not freeze even at temperatures below 30. The air conditioner also pleases. Maneuverability and handling suits me. The algorithm for activating all-wheel drive and lowered is very convenient and has never failed. Roof rails comfortably carry a three-seater boat over long distances. The engine, of course, is rather weak, but it pulls well from the bottom and a large trailer with a load of more than a ton drags. The car picks up passport 140, and allows you to drive at high speeds calmly, and accelerates up to 160 from the mountain. In terms of fuel consumption, for the sake of experiment, it actually fit into the passport data of 13 liters in the city and 10 liters on the highway. Salon does not rattle and does not creak so far. Of the minuses: according to the "pickup" closely rear passengers, fuzzy gear shifting, stiff suspension. Probably the biggest disadvantage is a very weak paintwork. The most serious breakdown over a period of 100 thousand km is the destruction of the cylinder head gasket in the region of the 4th cylinder. This happened while on a road trip. Held 130 km / h for 300 km and boiled. I got back on my own, periodically adding water to the system. After reading the forum - either a defect in Chinese casting felts, or the disease of this motor is rooted, dating back to the past of the Japanese grandfather. The cylinder head was polished, the Toyota gasket was installed. One breakdown just finished off - the light in the cabin burned for a long time, the ceiling heated up and melted, there was a short stack, it’s good that the fuse worked out. I put a diode lamp there - it does not heat up. The summary is as follows - the car is universal, relatively simple and maintainable. In terms of reliability, Great Wall Safe is no worse than the domestic auto industry. It is not very expensive to operate.

Advantages : in a review.

disadvantages : in a review.

Great Wall Safe, 2011

The first impressions of the Great Wall Safe were simply terrible (from the new Sivka to the old Safe), but after an adaptation period of two days, I got used to the car, stopped being afraid and baptized, and even found some pluses. So about the car: the interior is spacious, it’s comfortable to sit, but the seats are without lateral support and look more like Nivovskys, the trunk is very large, and if you fold the seats, it’s just huge, you can take away the refrigerator or building materials for the house, lower the back door glass and then it is not convenient to open the door, but you get used to it, the open door squeaks and it infuriates, very much. My height is 180 weight 100 - you can sit, not ideal, but quite bearable. The tidy glows blue, is made simply, but tolerably, when compared with the Zhiguli, it’s even good. From experience I know - warm in winter, cold in summer. Now a little about driving performance. I note right away that it is necessary to compare Great Wall Safe with representatives of the same class, and not with passenger cars. The car is large, heavy, a little rolly in corners, the dynamics are average (according to personal feelings, it’s faster than the injection “Taiga”, although not by much). You need to get used to the brakes, the speeds are short, except for the fifth one, the visibility is good, the steering wheel is a bit big, but you get used to it too. Based on the results of a week of use, the conclusions are as follows: a car for work, good as a second car, a worthy replacement for UAZ, repelled by the lack of ABS and SRS. There are no complaints about maintainability from the old owner, there are spare parts, everything is cheap. Carefully choose a service, they can heal to a coma. Be sure to do "anticorrosive" and follow the paintwork.

Advantages : cheap. Convenient for work. Fairly inexpensive to fix. Rides off-road. Warm in winter. Strong running.

disadvantages : lack of ABS and SRS. Weak LC coating. Requires attention.

Great Wall Safe, 2011

Very good car. Gzhel assembly. I have owned Great Wall Safe since 2007, mileage 178 thousand. The car was mainly used as a hard worker. Hunting, the supply of building materials for building a house, survived 5 trips to Ivanovo in winter and summer, a trip to the Kola Peninsula and Karelia. For 7 years, not a single serious breakdown, only technical fluids and brake pads have changed. It started up easily even in 37-degree frost, by the way, the diesel Gelendvagen without Webasta froze and honestly stood for a week as a monument to the German automobile industry. The electrically connected “razdatka” and all-wheel drive do not cause any complaints. I replaced the clutch disc this year, although I think it could still be like. A serious breakdown occurred only the other day, 4th gear jammed in the on state. Unfortunately, the weakest part of this car is the paintwork. The whole car is covered in spiders. It is necessary to carefully monitor the chipped paint and repair them in time. It is a pity that the car is discontinued, I would buy the same one again, only a new one.

Advantages : price. Frame SUV. Four-wheel drive. Downshift. Reliable. Inexpensive and unpretentious in repair.

disadvantages : weak paintwork. Absence of ABS and at least one airbag. No diesel engine.

Great Wall Safe, 2008

First impressions are twofold. On the one hand, everything is good and inexpensive, on the other hand, hasn’t it been a goof? Well, I guess time will tell. Got it, went. The interior of the Great Wall Safe is more spacious than in other cars, that's a fact. Transmissions are smooth without crunches and fuzziness. The climate works well, no complaints. The steering wheel is like a feather. Salon all graceful, even smacks of places. You even get the feeling that it’s not for men, you won’t throw a cigarette butt once again. On the second day I went to the workshop for a new batch, the patency is on top. I did not notice how all the dirt jumped. But. Started downloading. What's happened? Half a car is free. And this is compared to the "four". I'll tell you the score. I get my neighbors out of the quagmire once or twice. In terms of cross-country ability, only the neighboring UAZ Hunter is a competitor. The only downside to Great Wall Safe is the bumpers. Flimsy, no words. You kick with your foot - a crack. But this is not essential, now no one makes metal. progress and economy. If you want to ram trees, buy an UAZ. If you want off-road comfort - Great Wall Safe. I won’t talk about the track, I agree that many people buy SUVs - they are faster. But I'm not a courier and I don't need to rush around the city all day from end to end, so speed is not important for me. There is no point in talking about reliability. I've had it for three years now and haven't had any problems. I would only advise you to replace the battery immediately upon purchase, replace the fluids and stretch it completely, otherwise you can get into a situation. And when servicing is not where it is needed, order spare parts in advance, there will be no downtime. The result suggests itself: a reliable, inexpensive, practical car.

Advantages : a solid jeep for the price of a used car.

disadvantages : the engine would be more powerful to him.

  • Roman, Moscow. The motor of the Great Wall Safe is rather weak, but on the roads the main thing is the razdatka - and I have it. Therefore, there are no problems at all. True, the consumption of gasoline is too big - in the city from 17 to 20 liters, on the highway 12 liters. But spare parts cost a penny and you can find them without problems.
  • Oleg, Krasnoyarsk. Great Wall Safe, 2.2MT, four-wheel drive, 2008 The choice was made based on reviews - I noticed that only those who have never owned them find fault with the Chinese. I think that its only drawback, as an off-road vehicle, is the lack of an interwheel lock, everything else is normal. A simple motor (albeit rather weak), a simple box with a razdatka, equipment is also more or less. I don't really see any competition. Gasoline consumption - from 12 to 14 liters, no more.
  • Igor, Voronezh. The main problem is the lack of diesel. A gasoline engine is not needed here at all - it doesn’t pull such a colossus at all. You can drive on the highway up to 100 km / h - nothing more. UAZ in fact, only Chinese. Consumption in the city is 12-14 liters, no less, on the highway 10 liters.
  • Dmitry, Minsk. I bought a 2005 Great Wall Safe. Someone will say stupidity - but I needed an inexpensive SUV, but I didn’t want an UAZ, since it’s darkness, not a car. The Chinese like it - not the Cruiser, and the price is different. Gasoline consumption is about 15 liters per 100 km, it drives normally through mud, but I don’t need more.
  • Kirill, Krasnoyarsk. A good car as a second car for trips to the forest, to the country house and so on, where it is not a pity to kill. Parts penny, passable and roomy. I really like the huge trunk - there is just a shaft in it, you can load everything you need. Gasoline consumption is small - 12-15 city, 10 highway.
  • Ramil, Orenburg. I bought Great Wall Safe because I have had a Chinese truck at work for 4 years now - and it is better than a GAZelle. Therefore, I decided to take an inexpensive SUV - and the only options are either a Chinese, or a dead Japanese or a shaggy Korean. Its average consumption is 14 liters per 100 km, it pulls normally off-road, the interior is really huge. It breaks, not without that - but everyone breaks, and spare parts for the Safe are inexpensive, not like for Koreans. So there is no need to shout that the Chinese are bullshit - for their money they offer normal units.
  • Valery, Sakhalin. Normal car for your money. For such an amount, it is unrealistic to buy an imported SUV, namely an SUV, and not a fucking SUV. Of course, I would not take a new one - the price is completely different, but with a mileage of 50 thousand km it comes out very, very tasty. Consumption is 13-14 liters, but peas can be driven around the city or on the highway - but it’s excellent in the taiga.
  • Vladislav, Ufa. Even if my Great Wall one day breaks or completely falls apart, it’s really not a pity. The car costs a penny, it was bought in order to kill her - why feel sorry for her. Simple design, even miserable, like the interior, but off-road rushing fine. Of the minuses - the engine is very weak, but fuel consumption under 18 liters is a lot for him.
  • Alexander, Nizhny Novgorod. Great Wall Safe, 2.2MT, 4WD, MY 2007 On the highway or in the city, this car is a threat to everyone. There are no brakes, the exhaust is crazy and the gas consumption is just bad, under 15 liters. On the track does not go more than 100 km / h - really scary. But for off-road, that's it.

    Introduction

Great Wall Motors Ltd. is one of the largest car manufacturers in China. It unites more than 10 companies producing cars, trucks and buses. The company's annual production capacity is more than 200,000 vehicles. This circumstance allows the concern to be among the ten largest enterprises in China.
The vast majority of Great Wall passenger cars are based on Japanese ones using licensed units.
The family of SUVs Deer, Sailor, So Cool, Safe, Sing and Pegasus, although they are different in appearance, have one ancestor - Toyota 4 Runner (in some sources you can find information that Deer was created on the basis of Toyota Hi-lux, and this will not contradict the first statement, since both models are structurally very similar and built using the same components and assemblies).
All models are equipped with a GW491QE in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine with a lower camshaft with a volume of 2.2 liters and a power of 105 hp. This power unit, also known as the Toyota 4Y, has proven itself well in operation on models such as the 1985 Hi-lux, 1987 Hiace, 4 Runner and 1988 Dyna. It should be noted that the gas distribution mechanism and the cylinder head of its own, Chinese production: unlike the Japanese prototype, the camshaft has not an upper, but a lower location, which slightly deformed the power unit, but as a result increased its resource and made it possible to use AI-gasoline 92. According to the manufacturer, in the combined driving cycle, the car consumes 9 - 11 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Depending on the type of drive (only on the rear axle or with a connected all-wheel drive), a transfer box is installed on the car with a mechanical or electric drive.
The chassis of all models is a frame structure and differs only in overall dimensions. Bodies are galvanized. The front suspension is independent torsion bar, the rear is dependent spring. This design, coupled with a reduced range of gears and the absence of a center differential, plus a powerful frame, high ground clearance and huge 235 / 75R15 wheels provide Great Wall SUVs with extremely high cross-country ability.
A variety of exterior and interior design models can satisfy the needs of a wide range of customers.
Great Wall Deer pickups with cabs and cargo platforms of various sizes are designed to transport goods and passengers. These are real trucks designed for work. The cargo platform of all Deer is isolated, not communicating with the passenger compartment. The cargo is accessed through a lifting window and a folding tailgate. Unfortunately, there are no additional devices for fixing the load.

The Sailor and So Cool pickups differ from the Deer models in a more modern design and an increased level of comfort. Cars do a good job of transporting small loads and are ideal for those who move equally often on urban and country roads.

Safe, Pegasus and Sing SUVs differ in overall dimensions and, as a result, in interior space and the number of seats.
Safe is a full-size SUV that practically inherited the appearance of the prototype - Toyota 4 Runner. The level of comfort in the cabin is quite acceptable, the finishing materials are inexpensive, but of high quality. The instrument panel, decorated with an aluminum look, looks very good. The steering wheel is covered in leather. Great Wall Safe / So Cool user manual. Specifications

2. Specifications

Proper operation and maintenance will prolong the life of your vehicle and ensure safe driving.
It must be remembered that incorrect operation can lead to premature wear of the vehicle and adversely affect driving safety. The manufacturer is not responsible for malfunctions caused by improper use in violation of this manual.
Cars of the Great Wall brand are distinguished by good driving performance, economy, driving stability and can be operated on roads from the 4th class. They have the necessary comfort, safety and reliability. The environmental performance is in line with China's national standards and the international Euro-2 standard. Cars are equipped with seat belts, air conditioning and audio system.
An electronically controlled fuel injection engine uses unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 93. Low octane gasoline will cause premature engine wear. Leaded gasoline containing lead additives can damage injectors, catalytic converter and oxygen sensor.
For Great Wall vehicles, the break-in duration is set to 2500 km. Operate the vehicle strictly in accordance with the break-in recommendations specified in the Manual.
Make sure the vehicle is operated under normal conditions using the lubricants, oils and fluids recommended in the Manual. Lubricate and change oil in accordance with the recommended mileage of the vehicle, for which use the recommended or higher quality oils and lubricants. In the event of malfunctions resulting from the use of non-recommended brands of oils and lubricants, the manufacturer disclaims warranty obligations.
The driver and passenger in the front seat must use seat belts to avoid the consequences of an accident or a sudden stop of the car.
The maximum speed of the car is 120 km/h, but even on a good road, the driver is not recommended to drive at this speed. The optimal maximum driving speed should not exceed 80% of the declared maximum. At the same time, comfortable and safe driving conditions are provided and the service life of the car is extended.
When changing tires and servicing the vehicle, use the jack and support as shown in the illustration. It is not allowed to stay under the car if only a jack is used without additional stands or stops.
