The salon is crammed with advanced options, I especially want to note the large touch screen, which has become larger in the update. The motor supports the 95th gasoline, and it pleases. 1 generation

The first generation Mitsubishi Outlander was equipped only with gasoline engines. There were two in total. The first of them received a volume of two liters, and it could produce power up to 136 horsepower. Both a robotic, in four gears, and a mechanical, in five gears, box could be responsible for engine control. The drive was installed either full or front. Fuel consumption per 100 km in this configuration was 9.6 liters.

The turbocharged version of this engine showed a power of 202 horsepower. Here, mechanics and all-wheel drive were always installed, and gasoline consumption was at the level of 10.2 liters. The second 2.4-liter unit developed 139, 142 or 160 horsepower. Exactly the same boxes were installed on it, and for an intermediate version, all-wheel drive was mandatory. Fuel here took 9.8 liters.

“The car was bought from hand in very good condition. It was planned to use it for long trips, as it is quite comfortable and fast, and also copes well with off-road. But it didn't work out. As a result, now I ride around the city, performing everyday tasks. A little annoying high consumption. I have about 12 liters,” writes Alexey from Moscow.

“The car was in my use for a long time. I liked everything, it's a pity that I had to sell it, but this decision had nothing to do with the car itself. It has only one minus - fuel consumption. At least 14 liters are spent in the city, 8 on the highway, ”wrote Ruslan from St. Petersburg.

2 generation

The second generation was demonstrated in 2006. They decided not to install a two-liter gasoline engine here, replacing it with a 3-liter unit. Its power was equal to 220 horses, and only four-wheel drive and an automatic transmission with six gears were paired with it. This device ate 10.7 liters of fuel. The power of the unit 2.4 was boosted to 170 forces. Here, only four-wheel drive is available to the buyer, and the automatic transmission has been replaced with a CVT.

There were also diesel options for equipment. These were 2.0 and 2.2, developing 140 and 156 horsepower. Both boxes, which received six steps each, and four-wheel drive were included with them. Their consumption is approximately the same - 6.8 and 7.1 liters.

“With this car, you will never get stuck somewhere on the road. It's very reliable and everything works great. It also shows good off-road results, which cannot but please me, a fishing lover. The actual consumption of the model is somewhat different from the passport value. I had 10 liters,” said Denis from Stavropol.

“If you take this model, then only in the most charged configuration, because the two-liter engine does not take out the track at all. Acceleration is long, it is generally impossible to overtake someone. And their consumption does not differ much. My norm is 9 liters. Restyling (2010)

The next update took place in 2010. Only it was not a generational change, but a restyling, but quite a large-scale one. The configurations have also changed. Diesels are again not offered to buyers.

The two-liter unit returned to the gasoline series. Here he received 227 horsepower and a consumption of 8.2 liters. Modifications for 2.0 and 2.4 liters could be equipped with either a variator or mechanics, as well as any of the drives. The three-liter unit always went strictly with all-wheel drive and on the machine.

“I bought a car only because I needed an SUV, as my family and I moved out of town. There was not much money, so they took it from hand, but in good condition. A little, of course, I had to invest in repairs, but now we have another iron horse, which is quite comfortable and convenient. Its consumption is 10 liters,” said Yuri from Petrozavodsk.

3rd generation

The next major changes occurred in the third generation of 2013 release. The consumption of gasoline engines has slightly decreased, by about a liter for each. The rest of the indicators are identical. A hybrid with a volume of two liters has become a novelty. With a peak power of 121 horsepower, a single-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, it consumed only 1.9 liters of fuel.

Restyling (2014)

Another restyling of the model took place in 2014. Due to the low popularity of hybrid engines, it was decided to abandon them. All petrol versions began to be completed only with a variator transmission.

Much more new was introduced in the second restyling of the third generation, which was completed in 2015. As always, only the petrol row was not touched. A hybrid was returned, which received exactly the same performance as it had before.

They also made a diesel engine with a volume of 2.3 liters, showing a power of 150 horsepower. It can be either automatic or manual. Four-wheel drive is placed on any of them, and front-wheel drive - only on manual. This installation consumes 5.7 liters of fuel.

“Very beautiful, comfortable and powerful machine, suitable for any task. You can drive both around the city, for example, to shops, and to various fishing trips. At the same time, fuel consumption differs very little, usually it stays at around 8 liters, ”wrote Grigory from Tyumen.

“I got this car quite recently, but I already realized that I got an excellent workhorse with a powerful engine and a comfortable interior. Her appetite is moderate. My average consumption is 9 liters. For such a crossover, the result is very good,” said Gennady from Tomsk.

The Mitsubishi Outlander, launched on the market in 2008, can rightly be considered the most voracious. This crossover is equipped with a traditional automatic transmission. In this case, in urban conditions, fuel consumption on the Outlander is simply amazing - about 15 liters for every 100 kilometers, although, of course, outside the city this figure will be significantly lower - only 8 liters. Practice shows that with a mixed cycle, this parameter reaches 10 liters.

The third generation of the crossover: characteristics

Despite the controversial design, the third-generation Outlander still managed to gain a lot of fans among domestic buyers. It is fair to say that the brand has put a lot of effort into correcting all the shortcomings of the predecessors of the crossover. The design has changed especially, however, its conceptually new elements are closely and, most importantly, harmoniously intertwined with traditional brand details.

In terms of dimensions, it must be said that the car has changed slightly - added a couple of centimeters in length and width, which, in general, is almost imperceptible. Meanwhile, thanks to such a simple technique, brand employees have improved the aerodynamic properties of the model. In order to make the crossover lighter by almost a hundred kilograms, light high-strength steel was used in its body. The interior of the Outlander in the third generation has changed dramatically.

Immodest appetites of the third generation crossover

To begin with, we note that the real fuel consumption per 100 km for the Outlander is very different from that declared by the brand in the operational documentation. So, as part of the pre-sale campaign, official sources convinced that in the process of city driving, the crossover does not spend more than 9 liters per hundred kilometers. In the conditions of country driving, according to the assurances of the brand, this indicator decreased significantly - up to 6.7 liters. Meanwhile, the surprise of the newly minted Outlander owners knew no bounds when it turned out that in the city the crossover was eating almost half as much as promised - about 14 liters. As you know, the properties and quality of a particular category of fuel largely determine the fuel consumption per 100 km for a car. First, let's turn to official sources. They claim that if AI-95 gasoline is used, Outlander's fuel consumption will not exceed 7.5 liters, however, the reality is somewhat different from the reality in which brand employees live and make up the characteristics of the car.

Since the real crossover data is of much greater interest to potential buyers, we propose to consider what Mitsubishi Outlander actually has fuel consumption. For this crossover, two brands of gasoline are recommended, and we propose to evaluate them:
