Tager three-door. Tiger TagAZ cars: technical characteristics, design and price. "Tiger" car: price and configuration

The TagAZ Corporation is trying to regain its position in the market and maintain its existence by releasing literally several models. The company was actually on the verge of closure two years ago, but today Tagaz Tager is on the path to improvement and renewal. An SUV with a few new interior features should win over a large number of buyers, gain some respect among Jeep enthusiasts, and sell in large enough quantities to save the enterprise.

Of course, people won’t buy cars in Russia simply out of patriotic aspirations, so it’s better for the corporation to offer something worthwhile to the buyer in the form of a Tager. Otherwise, we will have to return to the idea of closing the enterprise, which we would not want even for reasons of competition. This allows us to reduce prices for Russian cars and also complements the range Russian jeeps , which is very nice to realize when studying the model range.

Exterior and body of an SUV in the 2015 model year

Let's be honest, the car in the photo has not changed at all. No changes were noticed in either the 3-door or 5-door versions, but the manufacturer claims a slight restyling. In branded photos and videos, the car looks quite relevant, dignified and expresses its readiness to conquer off-road conditions. But in reality, Tagaz Tager turns out to be a rather outdated car, which has a number of visual shortcomings:

  • the visual price and relevance of the car are at a low level, but the SUV does not need elegance;
  • the interior of the Tager is made somewhat carelessly, although the materials are in complete harmony with the tasks of the car;
  • I don’t really want to talk about the quality of all the little things, this is far from the strongest side of the model;
  • there is very little modernity in the jeep called Tager, the car has not changed since its development at SsangYong;
  • The Tagaz company has a very dubious assembly, which manifests itself on some copies of the car.

If you want to buy a Tagaz Tager, it’s better to first take the car for a long test drive. Judging by the reviews of the owners, not every motorist will feel good in this car. But owner reviews about Tager are just the opinions of other people. Compose your picture of this SUV and understand how interesting it is in your situation. Perhaps this particular model of the Russian automobile industry will cover all the needs of using transport.

Technical characteristics and test drive TagAZ Tager

We can talk about the technical characteristics of SUVs from Russia for quite a long time. Jeeps are quite old, have not been updated for decades and do not provide high quality and pleasure from the trip. Reviews from owners do not stop scolding the Tagaz Tager, especially for its amazing set of equipment. The basic SUV engine is available with two types of manual transmissions, and a test drive does not allow us to understand which one is better. The main technical characteristics of the current Tagaz are as follows:

  • The Tager base has a 2.3-liter gasoline engine with an impressive 150 horsepower;
  • there is also a 2.9-liter diesel power unit producing 129 horsepower;
  • Another 3.2-liter gasoline unit with a capacity of 220 horsepower is also available;
  • the latest engine is a modern, economical 104-horsepower diesel engine with a volume of 2.6 liters;
  • automatic in Tagaz Tager is present only in the most powerful version with a large engine;
  • All-wheel drive is available in all trim levels except the basic one; for the start, Tagaz offered rear drive wheels.

Tiger with this technology looks very confident among his competitors. Strong units, a huge selection, but a very unclear gradation of offers - this is what you will have to face when buying a Tager. The technical characteristics are quite consistent with the price of the car, but many negative reviews from owners force them to be extremely careful about the test drive process and getting to know the car in the showroom.

Options and prices

An SUV can actually be bought quite cheaply in the showrooms of official dealers. The basic version of the car costs 520,000 rubles. But for this money you will not get all-wheel drive, and the engine will be extremely difficult to control with a very simple gearbox. Therefore, we can assume that a jeep is sold from 600,000. For a good unit with high power and an automatic transmission you will have to pay 675,000 rubles, which is quite normal. Tiger has the following additions to the package:

  • good differential, quite effective all-wheel drive system of the car;
  • Tager's fuel tank is 70 liters - gasoline or diesel is enough for a long trip;
  • the presence of ABS, effective disc brakes and adjustable seat belts increases safety;
  • even the base version has an airbag for the driver, and in other versions of the SUV there is also one for the passenger;
  • immobilizer, central locking, air conditioning, electric windows - good basic options;
  • The height adjustment of the driver's seat and other amenities begin to surprise when studied.

So many things at a reasonable price - this is an interesting offer. It should be noted that the Tager is not a Chinese SUV; the Russian offer is of passable quality. The company’s offer also includes a 5-door version of the off-road vehicle with a price starting from 730,000 rubles. Photos and videos with this version are filled with some more frank confidence of journalists. However, the short wheelbase of the regular Tagaz Tager is also good.

Let's sum it up

Quite good and varied technical characteristics, frankly good equipment and quite an interesting price - such advantages of the Tagaz Tager can really change the features of promoting the car on the Russian market. But the success of transport is far from guaranteed. It is necessary for owner reviews to become more favorable to the car.

When you go for a test drive with the thought of buying this car, you can find many advantages in the Tagaz Tager, but also remember that there are plenty of disadvantages in this car.

Who here is nostalgic for the good old frame SUVs? Get it: the “Korean Wrangler” - SsangYong Korando KJ - is being assembled at TagAZ. His name is now Tagaz Tager. As you may remember, I am still a retrograde myself.

You know, I like to lament the times that have sunk into oblivion, when all SUVs were equipped with iron bumpers and engines insensitive to fuel quality. That’s all true, but we easily forget that for this strength we had to pay, in particular, for road handling and fuel consumption of under 20 liters per hundred. On the other hand, even within the immediate Moscow region there are a lot of such roads and gas stations that other modern models of SUVs are simply scary. Against this background, the second coming of Korando in the person of Tagaz Tager looks quite natural...

COWBOYS FROM MARS

In 1996, the newborn SsangYong Korando made a strong impression - as did everything that English designer Ken Greenlee did for the Koreans. This car still looks unusual: it seems that it was built by aliens, inspired by the appearance of the Jeep CJ. A kind of Martian cowboy. Structurally, this car is a classic SUV from the mid-90s of the last century. Moreover, Tagaz Tager did not receive any changes, except for nameplates - everything is identical to the original.

The main advantage of the model is Mercedes-Benz engines and transmissions. The Germans at one time sold the license to the Koreans, and they still produce these units at home. By the way, one should not conclude from this that screwdriver assembly has been established in Taganrog - not at all, there is a full-scale assembly production with welding and painting of bodies.

OLD. KIND?

The Tager engine is mounted longitudinally. However, it is difficult to imagine a 3.2-liter inline-six located differently. As a counterweight to this 300-Newton-meter mastodon, a respectable 4-speed automatic transmission is attached. There is also a more modest version – with a 2.3-liter “four” and a manual transmission. In addition, a diesel engine is expected, but we drove the 3.2-liter version.

At the front, the Tagaz Tager has an independent torsion bar suspension with wishbones at the rear - a continuous axle, springs and trailing arms. The transmission is part-time 4WD, that is, you can drive on dry asphalt only with rear-wheel drive. The front wheels are driven by electric vacuum clutches (by the way, this is a weak point in used Korandos), which means you don’t need to leave the cabin to switch to 4x4 mode. The downshift is also activated using an electric machine. What else? Oh yes, all the brakes are disc, the steering is rack and pinion.

DO NOT DRIVE FAST

If you think you need a big engine to drive like a bullet, buy an old Mercedes or a new Tager and see otherwise. Well, yes, up to a hundred in a little less than 11 seconds, not bad at all. You can go 130 or 140 on the highway, but the transmission settings are still “Mercedes”, which means they are conducive to a quiet ride. Look, I press the accelerator pedal all the way down. At the same time, the kick-down button hidden under it is pressed. Then a small power inscription lights up on the instrument panel, the automatic transmission switches down a gear, then the engine should hum a little, and after that acceleration begins. Objectively – according to the stopwatch – everything happens quite quickly. But this subjective feeling of thoughtfulness... In short, I don’t want to drive a Tager. In addition, the chassis is not conducive to exploits on asphalt. All these old-fashioned rolls in corners, longitudinal rocking. Again, the brake pedal requires some effort... No, street racers definitely don't have to worry. Well, let them stand in line for a Honda Civic or Mazda 3, and you and I will go where the price is all-wheel drive, low-end traction and ground clearance. Because if a car doesn't make your blood burn on the asphalt, it must be good off it. Although it’s better, of course, when both are available.

JUST HOLD YOUR HAT

The front bumper hangs a little low. And at the very bottom are the transparent beans of the fog lights. If it weren’t for this, it would be much more fun to jump along the country roads - the suspension allows it: it is soft, but energy-intensive, and almost does not cause breakdowns. Of course, the Tager is a bit wobbly on bumpy roads, and it’s better for passengers to hold on to something, but nevertheless, it’s really good for driving on uneven roads. As I already said, for any modern SUV in such a situation the heart bleeds - it seems that after the next impact the levers will be pulled out with a crunch, and the shock absorbers will leak, and the 17-inch wheels will burst. And on the Tager you can ride completely calmly, practically without fear - what’s more, the fog lights won’t last anyway.

This car has very decent suspension travel, but I would not participate in a jeep trial with it - the lateral roll of the body is too high. Well, yes, that’s right – the center of gravity is high, the suspension is soft.

AND WHERE IS THE INCREASED FRICTION?

The transmission mode control knob is almost invisible - it is hidden opposite the driver’s right knee. If you don’t know, you won’t find it right away. But here’s what’s nice: both the front axle and the downshift engage immediately, without delay. If you are not aware, most SUVs require an advance transition to 4x4 and 4x4L modes - the car must move a few meters for the transmission to receive a load, for the gears to synchronize and engage... This is not the case: turn the handle - and everything is OK. And this is a tangible plus. Another plus is expected a little later - currently the Tager rear axle is not equipped with a limited slip differential, but it should appear soon. Without it, to be honest, it’s not very fun to knead the mud, because there are no electronic traction control systems on the Tager.

And one more point - good water resistance. I don't know if it was designed this way on purpose, but this car rides smoothly on the headlights in water, keeping the air filter dry and the engine running smooth.

Overall, the Tager gets credit for its off-road performance (especially if you haven't forgotten about its pothole abilities).

MYSTERIES OF HISTORY

A topic that I had a hard time approaching was the salon. He's quite old-fashioned. And even mysterious. For example, in front of the navigator there is an absolutely flat panel, as if they wanted to put another instrument panel there. True, there is an airbag hiding behind it, which is good news. The driver's seating position is vertical and correct, but with my height of 186 cm, I still do not have enough range of adjustments. The seats are rich, leather, and they even seem to promise some kind of lateral support, but there is none - don’t expect Tager to receive you as closely and carefully as some “German”. To fasten the seat belt, you have to reach quite far back for it. No, everything is clear - the belt is attached to the stand, and it is moved back to make the doorway wider. But it’s still a bit sloppy...

MATERIAL PART: TAGAZ TAGER

COFFEE ON THE SOFA

It seems that the designers thought more about the rear passengers. This makes it convenient to crawl to the sofa and gives you room to sit. One thing is unclear: why is there a belt reel suspended in the trunk under the ceiling for a third, central rider, if only two can fit on the sofa? The trunk, by the way, is somewhat larger than I expected to see. But the main, fattest raisin is not this. It turned out that the interior of the Tager folds out entirely, providing two full-fledged sleeping places. Moreover, the back of the rear sofa is adjustable, so you can drink your morning coffee in the car while reclining. Romance! (Or is it called something else? Well, it doesn’t matter.) If I were a young bachelor, I would think about buying it.

Finally, I must emphasize that with all its pros and cons, Tagaz Tager is a unique offer in a sense. Firstly, the only other three-door bodies are the Suzuki Jimny and Jeep Wrangler, but both are from completely different stories. Secondly, with a 2.3 engine and manual transmission, Tager costs 629,900 rubles. In the class of universal SUVs (SUVs), only the Chinese and Niva are cheaper.

Well, for the Tager in the 3.2 automatic transmission configuration we tested, they are already asking 769,900 rubles. By the way, the Taganrog Hyundai Santa Fe Classic with a 2-liter diesel engine and automatic transmission costs the same. It is more spacious, behaves much better on asphalt and no worse off-road, but on bad roads it will probably last less...

Sales market: Russia.

Tager, apart from UAZ jeeps, is the most affordable full-fledged SUV on our market. And it doesn’t matter that this is a licensed copy of the Korean SsangYong Korando. The latter was created according to all the canons of a now forgotten genre. Spar frame, solid rear axle, front double wishbone suspension, all-wheel drive with Part Time scheme and low range. Now such a set can be found either in specific models or in rare large and expensive SUVs. Korando has had it since 1996, Tager since 2008. Let us recall that in 2007, a Russian enterprise acquired equipment and rights to industrially assemble an SUV. The Taganrog twin received engines as a “gift” along with the chassis, all-wheel drive transmission and gearboxes (5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission). Gasoline 2.3 l (150 hp) and 3.2 l (220 hp), as well as diesel 2.6 l (104 hp) and 2.9 l (120 hp). ). Most modifications are equipped with a manual transmission, and only the most powerful 220-horsepower engine is offered with an automatic transmission.

The main difference between the Tager and the SsangYong is the five-door body, which is produced in Taganrog along with the three-door. The equipment is typical for the 90s, that is, no newfangled electronics. The practical interior, of course, does not look modern, but the dashboard of the car is quite informative, all indications are easy to read, the control unit on the center console is functional and, for greater convenience, is complemented by a deep niche for storing small items. Underneath there is another niche with a tray and two cup holders; there is also a tray for small items above the center console. The plastic interior lining is practical and easy to clean. The basic equipment of the Tager includes power steering, an adjustable steering column, standard power accessories (power windows, heated and electrically adjustable side mirrors), an immobilizer, air conditioning and central locking with remote control. In more expensive equipment, the car will offer a CD player with 6 speakers, leather upholstery and heated front seats.

Under the hood of the TagAZ Tager you can find power units of different sizes and power, both gasoline and diesel. All are produced under license from Mercedes-Benz. The initial 2.3-liter 16-valve gasoline engine with multipoint injection produces a maximum power of 150 hp. (at 6200 rpm) and 210 Nm of torque (at 2800 rpm). Another common option is a 3.2-liter gasoline inline six-cylinder engine. It has a power of 220 “forces” (at 6500 rpm) and 307 Nm of torque (4700 rpm), which allows the Tager to reach “hundreds” in 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h, while as for the basic version it is 12.5 seconds. and 165 km/h respectively. Diesel “fours” with a volume of 2.6 and 2.9 liters were also installed on TagAZ Tager. They are more modest in terms of power (104 and 120 hp), but have quite decent traction (216 Nm and 256 Nm), on average being content with 8.7-10.5 liters of fuel, while gasoline ones consume in the combined cycle 10.2-15.9 l/100 km. The fuel tank capacity of all versions is 70 liters.

As already mentioned, the Tager incorporates design solutions that are classic for an SUV. Among other things, the car is equipped with hydraulic power steering and disc brakes front and rear (front ventilated). The part-time 4WD transmission can only be used on slippery roads; on dry asphalt you can only drive with rear-wheel drive. The front wheels are engaged using electric vacuum clutches, and the electronics also control the downshift. The body size differs depending on the number of doors. The five-door Tager has a length of 4512 mm, the three-door - 4330 mm. Wheelbase - 2480 or 2630 mm. 235/70 R16 tires are standard for the SUV; a spare full-size wheel is mounted on the tailgate. The luggage compartment itself has a volume of 350 liters, it can be increased to 1200 liters by folding the back of the rear seat (it is divided into two equal parts), thereby creating a flat floor.

Despite the outdated design, safety requirements are not forgotten. As standard, the TagAZ jeep has door stiffeners, a safety steering column, three-point seat belts, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), a driver airbag, and a passenger airbag is also available for an extra charge. There is no data on crash tests of the car.

TagAZ Tager aroused great interest among buyers due to its low cost. The main advantages of the model are excellent maneuverability, good dynamics, high maneuverability, a comfortable interior and good equipment. Among the disadvantages, owners often cite the tendency to “goat”, high fuel consumption, and a small trunk. Another disadvantage manifests itself in the 3-door version with the most powerful engine - the combination of high traction and a short wheelbase entails a tendency to skid. Full-time permanent all-wheel drive would be nice here (which the Korando 3.2 AT originally offered), but the Tager is deprived of such pleasure. Although on the Internet you can find a solution to this problem by folk craftsmen by partially replacing the nodes. There are drawbacks due to the build quality: not very clear gear shifting (especially when switching to a lower one), problems with paintwork and insufficient corrosion protection.

Read completely

Preparing this material was more difficult than usual: the majority of official TagAZ dealers took up a defensive position, not wanting to share information. But you can’t hide it in a bag - all the Tager’s problems are well known and are actively discussed on the Internet. Both the Korando and the Tager are built on proven Mercedes units and are truly as similar as two peas in a pod. But not from the point of view of reliability, which is what we’ll talk about today.

TRANSITION PERIOD

The most painful issue for Tager owners, known from the very beginning of the model’s release, that is, since 2008, is the poor reliability of a manual transmission on cars with gasoline engines ( ZR, 2010, No. 8 ). Driving with such a box is often unsafe.

For example, if you need to shift to a lower gear in order to slow down the engine, you will be faced with a difficult task: the lever will hit an invisible barrier due to the difference in shaft speeds, which is to blame for the synchronizer not coping with its duties, usually in second or third gear. If you still manage to engage the gear, the unpleasant crunching noise emitted by the gearbox discourages you from even touching the lever. It’s easier for those who know the old techniques - throttling and double clutch release, but mastering them in a modern car, which was also bought for a lot of money, is hardly acceptable.

The owners demanded that dealers replace the unit. But they were not ready. Why, dealers, TagAZ itself found itself in a difficult situation: the plant had to allocate a separate workshop, where 183 failed boxes were repaired in the first nine months - almost every fifth! The synchronizers of the second, third and fourth gears, complete with clutches, were changed, but often this did not help: the repaired unit soon began to crunch again.

Some owners have had the box replaced four or five times! Meanwhile, TagAZ, unable to cope with the repairs, came up with the idea of depriving the owners of the warranty due to allegedly improper operation of the car: they say, you should not change gears at rpms above five thousand. But the instruction manual contains no such restrictions, so the matter sometimes ended up in court. As a rule, decisions were in favor of the owners - of course, at the cost of frayed nerves. To be fair, we note that the plant recognized the defect as widespread and even publicly apologized to the owners.

TagAZ, after all, also found itself hostage to the current situation, since SanYong hid the scale of the problem and was in no hurry to solve it. It seems that the agreement between the enterprises did not provide for any sanctions in case of delivery of defective components. The Koreans took advantage of this: according to rumors, to reduce costs they transferred the production of some units, including gearboxes, to China. Indirect confirmation of these rumors is the fact that the Korean markings disappeared from the crankcase.

As it turned out later, the problem was not only in the synchronizers, but also in the misalignment of the shafts. One of the Ekaterinburg companies learned how to eliminate this defect. There, all the filling is removed from the box and, having assembled the crankcase parts, the bearing beds are processed in one step. And in order to fix the outer ring with tension, additional bushings are pressed into the bed. And only then they install new clutches and synchronizers. There are no complaints about gearboxes finished in this way, but not every owner is ready to travel thousands of kilometers for repairs.

ADVENTURES ELECTRONICS

With the advent of autumn 2008, other difficulties began: at temperatures just below zero, the Tager’s gasoline engine could only be started on the fifth or sixth attempt. By the way, there was no such problem on Korando. It turned out that the Koreans, adapting the control unit program to our climate and gasoline, made a slight mistake with the settings: due to the short pulse to the injectors, the mixture turned out to be too lean.

The defect was eliminated by changing the fuel characteristic parameter from one to four and adjusting the temperature coefficient. The units were reflashed for free, under warranty. There was just one catch: not every dealer had the necessary equipment. On the first Taggers in the T5 configuration, the engine cooling fan was constantly running. This defect was sorted out quite quickly - it turned out that the contacts needed to be swapped. By the way, TagAZ’s dealer network is also its sore spot. There are known cases when, when installing additional equipment at branded service stations, they managed to blow up the squibs of seat belt pretensioners. TagAZ even had to terminate contracts with some sellers.

MOTHERLAND WILL HELP

All these problems have hardened the owners, and now they are actively discussing on the Internet which domestic analogues will be suitable instead of the capricious original. Some all-terrain vehicles already have UAZ springs in the rear suspension, which are slightly stiffer than the original ones, thanks to which it was possible to raise the rear part of the body by 55 mm (this was a good help on the roads).

In order to have enough rebound travel of the shock absorbers, they are replaced with “Volgov” shock absorbers. It is only important to remember that this does not increase the vehicle’s carrying capacity. It’s a pity that an adequate replacement has not yet been found for the factory rear axle axle shafts, which, it seems, are also Chinese - with a decent “egg” in the area of the working surface of the oil seal. Therefore, oil leakage on brake mechanisms after 20 thousand km is a common occurrence. Moreover, there are practically no original axle shafts on sale, and if they are available, they are three times more expensive than usual.

DROP BY DROP

There are no special problems with the engines. True, TagAZ distinguished itself here too: while on the Korean SanYong-Korando with an OM662 series diesel engine the turbocharger served quite reliably, on the Tager it sometimes leaks oil. The defect did not become widespread, but where did it come from on a seemingly proven design? Apparently, the unknown origin of the unit, this time the turbine, is having an effect again.

There is another defect on five-door Taggers: by 50–80 thousand km the rear windshield wiper axle may become sour. We recommend that you take it apart and lubricate it at the first sign that the brush begins to crush the glass. More serious problems also occur.

On a car that visited our editorial office a year ago ( ZR, 2010, No. 6 ), cracks were found on the frame in the area of the rear left suspension arm. We consider the fact that the load-bearing part did not break in half to be the merit of our test group, which detected the defect in time. But everything could end sadly! There are no other complaints about the chassis.

Perhaps only the front stabilizer struts are recognized as relatively weak - after 40-50 thousand km, if you please, change them. Ball joints, silent blocks, steering rods and ends sometimes serve more than 180 thousand km. Depending on your luck with the wheel bearings. The range in service life is in order: from 20 to 200 thousand km. Here, by the way, Chinese components are superior to Korean ones.

Rear axle in the version with disc brakes: the stockings are still dry, but sometimes they begin to sweat oil after a mileage of 2–3 thousand km. The input shaft of the gearbox sweats here, which is not typical.

Both “Korando” and “Tager” cannot be called full-fledged heroes of this section, since the first is already old, and the second is too young. Therefore, we present the third table without the traditional calculation of the cost of costs per kilometer ( ZR, 2011, No. 1 ). These machines go beyond the accepted methodology; we decided to talk about them only out of a desire to draw the attention of manufacturers to the need for a more competent choice of models for our market. So that simplified technologies do not undermine consumer confidence in a long-known model.

In 2008, the compact SUV TagAZ Tager, a licensed copy of the popular SsangYong Korando model, the production of which lasted 13 years and ceased in 2006, was put on the production line at the Taganrog plant.

Tager was one of the company's most successful commercial models. Almost no changes were made to it compared to the basic version.

Therefore, for a very small amount the buyer received reliable, passable and easy to maintain jeep. And besides, it is equipped with high-torque and economical Mercedes-Benz engines, which are produced by SsangYong under license.

Production continued until 2012. In 2014, the plant was declared bankrupt, despite the owner’s attempts to breathe new life into it.

The TagAZ Tager owes its success entirely to the compact Korando, created under the leadership of Ken Greasley. This car has a simple but effective formula for success - brutal appearance, good engines, simple design and amazing cross-country ability.

The model is based on classic spar frame. The suspension architecture is as follows: an independent torsion bar with wishbones is installed at the front, and a continuous axle with trailing arms and additional springs is installed at the rear.

A body with rather small geometric overhangs is mounted on the frame. With a wheelbase of 2480 mm, the body length is 4330 mm in the three-door version and 4512 mm in the 5-door version. The width and height are almost identical - 1841 and 1840 mm, respectively.

Exterior of the new model

The car was produced with three and five doors, but the dimensions are not too different, and there are no differences in design at all.
The narrow front part with powerful fender niches and a small radiator grille is framed by two round headlights. A massive plastic bumper is installed under them, giving the jeep an aggressive and brutal look.

The side edges of the body with impressive wheel arches with 16-inch wheels are trimmed with plastic linings and end at the bottom with metal sills, making it easier to get into the car.

The stern drops almost at a right angle. The tailgate is equipped with a spare wheel mount - it is installed in a special plastic casing.

Salon

The interior of the Tager comes from the 1990s - this is immediately and irrevocably visible. A conventional dashboard with massive white scales, hard plastic and simple seats with claims to lateral support.

However, one cannot call him completely dull. The plastic, although hard, is not bad, and the center console is painted silver and creates a pleasant accent to the overall dark background.

The rear sofa is designed for two passengers - the third one will be really uncomfortable there due to the narrow interior and the fact that the sofa just rests on the arches. By the way, its peculiarity is that it folds in 2 positions - forward and backward. In the second case, you get a full double bed.

In normal condition trunk volume is 350 liters, but with the rear seats folded it increases to 1200 liters.

For its time, especially at the beginning of release, TagAZ's equipment was quite good. By default, ABS, a driver's airbag, air conditioning and electric windows and rear-view mirrors were installed. If necessary, an additional airbag for the front passenger, leather seat upholstery and electrically heated front seats were installed.

Specifications

Tager is equipped with licensed Mercedes engines, which are deservedly popular due to their reliability:

  • petrol 4 with a volume of 2.3 liters, developing a power of 150 hp. With. and a torque of 210 Nm;
  • turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel 2.6 liters with 104 hp. s./215 Nm;
  • 5-cyl. turbodiesel 2.9 l, (129 hp, 256 Nm);
  • in-line petrol naturally aspirated six with a volume of 3.2 liters, 220 hp. With. and 307 Nm.

A 5-speed manual transmission is offered with the first three engines. There is also a 4-st. automatic – it is paired with a 2.3 liter petrol engine, and is available as an option for 2.9 liter units.

The maximum speed of a car with a diesel engine is about 150 km/h, with a 3.2 liter gasoline engine – 170 km/h. At the same time, acceleration to hundreds is 16 seconds for the first and 10.9 s. at the second one.

Fuel consumption in a mixed cycle is from 10 to 16 liters per 100 km, depending on the motor.

Patency

The car is offered in a rear-wheel drive version or with all-wheel drive. Herself The transmission is implemented as part-time 4WD. On normal roads, it drives on the rear traction, but off-road, using a special key that activates the electric vacuum clutches, the front drive axle is connected.

The peculiarity of 4WD is that it works immediately, you do not need to drive several meters, as with other jeeps. In later models, a limited-slip differential is installed in the rear axle, which improves off-road performance.

Price

You can buy a TagAZ Tager in Russia only with mileage on the secondary market at a price from 250 to 500 thousand rubles. The cost depends on the year of manufacture, engine, transmission and body style.
