All owner reviews about Opel Astra J restyling. Opel Astra test: restyling and two new versions - a “charged” three-door OPC and a sedan Rear view camera

The fourth-generation Astra, popular in Russia, was restyled in the summer of 2012, but another event is more significant for Russians - the expansion of body options for this model. Simply put, a four-door sedan has been added to the previously offered hatchback, station wagon and GTC coupe.
As part of this review, we will look for new details in the exterior of cars and get acquainted in detail with the novelty in the face of the sedan so expected by Russian motorists.

Opel Astra J (4th generation) even looked handsome before restyling, what did the designers decide to change in the appearance of the car? Interventions are only noticeable upon close examination of the front and rear of the body. In front, the updated Astras differ from pre-styling cars in a narrower false radiator grille with a stylish crossbar in the form of aircraft wings, a new bumper with a powerful relief and an enlarged air intake. The aerodynamic lip has become brighter. Almond-shaped depressions along the edges of the bumper to accommodate double foglights (horizontal narrowed shades and round "eyes") with chrome-plated framing boomerangs. The rear of the car has got modified bumpers, decorated with a chrome strip. That's the whole facelift, otherwise the models have not changed and look exemplary and stylish as before.

Sedan Opel Astra J, as befits this body version, with three-volume proportions. When looking at the sedan from the side, we highlight the domed roof line, which quickly runs down to a somewhat heavy stern with a lean trunk. Lateral four-window glazing with chrome edging, together with a visually weightless roof and pillars, give the car an image of lightness. The lower part of the body with puffy arches and door surfaces visually expands the sedan. With the same wheelbase dimensions of 2685 mm with the hatchback and station wagon, the new four-door Astra sedan has a length of 4658 mm, which is 71 mm more than the five-door hatchback, and only 40 mm less than the Sports Tourer station wagon. An interesting fact is the height of the sedan - 1500 mm, i.e. the hatchback is 10 mm taller, and the station wagon is 35 mm taller. So the roof dome of this “three-volume from Opel” is the most, what is called domed.
The ground clearance of these cars, in Russia, is 165 mm.

The rear part of the sedan is with large shades of overall lighting equipment, stretched from the sidewalls to the vertical of the trunk lid of a compact size with an imitation of a spoiler on the edge and a powerful bumper. For painting the body of the Opel Astra J family, eleven color options are offered: white, blue, red, blue, black, brown, two shades of silver, gray-green, Asteroid Gray and Noblesse Bronze. Depending on the equipment level, tires with rims 205/60 R16 and 215/50 R17 are installed on the car; 225/45 R18 can be installed as an option.

Restyling in 2012 did not touch the interior of the cars. Let's sit down in the interior of one of the updated cars. Comfortable driver's seat with an excellent profile, characteristic lateral support for the hips and upper body. The grippy three-spoke steering wheel fits nicely in your hands. The range of seat and steering column adjustments makes it easy to find the optimal body position, both for active driving and for a long stay on the road. Dashboard with two large and a pair of small "wells" in a chrome ring (the font would only be clearer). In the center is the on-board computer screen, which provides the driver with the necessary minimum of information. Front dashboard with smooth contours, a center console with a frightening array of buttons. According to the reviews of the owners of the Opel Astra J, you quickly get used to the scattering of keys, it’s good that each button is responsible for a separate function and when using it, you don’t have to “watch” for a way to control the “branches” of the abstruse menu (a disease of many modern cars). Ergonomics are on top, everything is at hand in the correct and accessible places, detailing and assembly of the cabin are 5 plus.
The second row will comfortably accommodate three passengers, even sitting in the center will not feel like a "poor relative", there is an air conditioning duct. With the advent of the Astra J model, Opel has definitely managed to rise to a higher level in terms of the quality of the interior, the materials used, the level of soundproofing of the cabin and filling the car with additional comfort features.
Let's see what's in the trunk of these German cars. The hatchback in the stowed state is ready to carry 370 liters of cargo, with the second-row seats folded down, we can load 795 liters (up to the glass level), but 1235 liters will fit under the ceiling. A sedan with five passengers has 460 liters, transforming the second row and loading under the roof, we count 1010 useful liters. The luggage compartment of the station wagon can accommodate from 500 to 1550 liters. Underground is a full-size spare wheel.

In the Russian market, the 2015 Opel Astra J is offered in three trim levels: Essentia, Enjoy and Cosmo. The initial version of Essentia is guaranteed to have: front and side airbags, air conditioning, heated front seats, front power windows, radio CD 300 (CD Aux), heated electric mirrors, ABS and ESP (+ assistant when starting uphill), protection of the engine compartment and reinforced suspension. As options, it is possible to order adaptive bi-xenon headlights, LED running lights, a 7-inch color display, a traffic sign recognition system, a parking assistant, a blind spot monitoring system and other “chips”.

About the technical characteristics. Regardless of the body type, the Opel Astra J has excellent suspension performance, thanks to MacPherson struts installed in front and a torsion beam with Watt mechanism in the back. Having paid 40,000 rubles, the owner will receive a car equipped with an adaptive FlexRide chassis with three running modes (Normal, Tour and Sport), capable of changing the suspension stiffness and steering force depending on the road situation. As systems responsible for safety, it is planned to install ABS with Brake Assist, a dynamic stabilization system (ESP), depending on the level of equipment, an electro-hydraulic or electric power steering (SSPS), a hill start assist system. Such a technical arsenal in real operating conditions gives Opel Astra J drivers a lot of driving pleasure. The car is distinguished by stable and predictable behavior not only when driving at the speed allowed by traffic rules, but also at “penalty” speeds.
In terms of power plants, the 4th generation Astra is available for Russian motorists with four gasoline engines:

  • Initial 1.4 l. XER (101 hp) with 5 manual gearboxes is installed only on a five-door hatchback, it has a moderate “appetite” and, according to the manufacturer, is content with 5.5 liters of fuel in a mixed driving mode. Suitable for a slow driver, acceleration to 100 km / h in 14.2 seconds and a “maximum speed” of 178-183 km / h. But since 2013 it is no longer offered.
  • The next engine is 1.6 liters. XER (115 hp) with 5 manual gearboxes (6 automatic gearboxes) absorbs an average of 6.3 (7.1) liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. A more “alive” engine, acceleration to the first “hundred” in 11.7 (13.3) seconds and a maximum speed, depending on the type of body, is 182-193 km / h.
  • The most "optimal" turbocharged 1.4 liter. NET (140 hp) with 6 automatic transmissions consumes 6.7-7 liters of gasoline in a combined cycle and allows you to confidently dial the first “hundred” in 10.2 seconds and accelerate to 200-207 km / h.
  • At the top is a 1.6L turbo. LET (170 hp) with 6 automatic transmissions, which, with reasonable handling of the “gas” pedal, consumes an average of 7.2-7.5 liters of gasoline and provides dynamics up to 100 km / h in 9 seconds, if traffic conditions allow, the engine will accelerate the car to maximum 210-213 km / h. Data on dynamic, speed and fuel economy indicators are given at the factory and may differ from the real ones during everyday operation.

Price The Opel Astra J sedan in Russia for 2015 starts at 829,900 rubles, for such an amount you can buy it in the basic Essentia configuration with an engine for 115 “horses”. And the richest equipment Astra J Sedan Cosmo 1.6 liters. LET (170 hp) with 6 automatic transmissions is offered at a price of ~1,230 thousand rubles.

What can I say, because a lot has been said about this car? Let me tell you a short story:

The glorious day of March 8, 2015 was approaching … And I dug my nose into the ground, studied and compared the technical characteristics of all different cars, looking for a thread within 1,000,000 rubles. SUVs, class C, D and E sedans, hatches, both new and used, not older than 2-3 years, of all brands were considered. As you can imagine, I've lost my mind a little. As a result, the circle narrowed down to the new Mercedes A, BMW 1, Opel Astra GTC and (she really liked it .. so far) KIA Sportage diesel, (diesel is my only adjustment, because 2.0 aspirated gasoline for SUV ... too vegetarian car turns out, and in the gasoline line of engines nothing more powerful goes to Russia). There were no diesel sportages left in stock at dealers and therefore contender number 4 dropped out of the race (I did not regret it at all). In general, everything that united the remaining 3 cars was one class and 1.6 turbo engines; in other respects, these are quite different cars from each other. I note that the characteristics, equipment with options were studied to the details (so that cars would come out within about the same price) and then a test drive was passed, and ... in the category of the best price, equipment, handling, practicality and beauty, the Opel Astra GTC won.

About cons: one hundred-oh-oyki-and-and! Well, what a "designer!" decided to make them so big and split them in two at the bottom by inserting a window into this “crotch”?! like a loophole, shoot back from enemies if you see them through it. Pedestrians, but what's there Kamaz racks easily cover from view. In some situations, the head and neck have to be moved like a dove when walking, just so that it does not become a habit.

Review of Opel Astra 1.4 Turbo (Opel Astra) 2014

Good day to all visitors of this site! Bought this car for my daughter, because. I myself don’t need the car yet (I live and work in Vietnam - I go on vacation once a year in my homeland), but when I’m on vacation I use the car unlimitedly. The review turned out to be great (I myself did not expect such masturbation from myself, therefore, after writing it, I divided it into parts and who needs which part for such information and read.

Choice and purchase:

I chose the brand of car myself, my daughter only chose the body type - I leaned towards the hatchback, it is more practical, but the sedan is so sedan, which I do not regret, because. the trunk in the sedan is much larger than in the hatch, well, the sedan looks somehow more impressive or something. Regarding the choice of a car brand, I needed a C class, an automatic (not a DSG or similar robots), not a Japanese or a Korean (the soul does not lie), the presence of a dealer in Syktyvkar is the nearest city (330 km) where there are off-the-shelf auto industry dealers. The price offer and reliability of the car also play an important role. The previous car was an Opel Corsa D 1.2l robot 2008gv, bought in 2001 in St. Petersburg with a mileage of 60tkm (bought for my wife and daughter, but I also drove and drove 1800km from St. Petersburg myself) sold with a mileage of 108tkm. So, there were no problems with the Opel Corsa, except for consumables (oil, filters, brake pads) and when examining the suspension at the dealer’s office for 90tkm, they said that the suspension was normal, although the machine had seen all sorts of roads. Yes, and I also did the adaptation of the setting point on the robot every 15k km, this procedure can be done if you have a dealer scanner, which only the dealer has. In general, all roads, taking into account the above requirements, led to OPEL. At first I wanted to order a car and wait 4-6 months, but the dealer in Syktyvkar had a car in stock, in which, to my requirements, only the armrest between the front seats was missing and the color was not black metallic, but brown (mahogany. As a result, an Opel Astra sedan was bought 1.4AT (140 hp) in Anjoy configuration plus a package with dual-zone climate control, heated seats and steering wheel and buttons on this very steering wheel (cruise and radio). and not a blonde, but they sold her rugs for 7tr), when examining the car, she found a small scuff on the front bumper, for which the first MOT was provided for free, and the scuff was then eliminated with a regular polish.

Restyling in the automotive world is a typical procedure. Almost all modern cars are affected by it. For marketers, this is a reason to attract new customers, and for engineers - to work on the errors identified during the conveyor life of the machine.

Usually this operation brings new options to the car, subtle touches in the design and hidden changes in the components.

In the case of the Opel Astra, restyling for two generations in a row also brings a three-volume body type. It appears in the range of the manufacturer only after several years of the model's presence on the market.

When releasing the Opel Astra sedan, marketers focused on Russia and Turkey. Although with such an appearance, the car is not ashamed to be sold in Europe, which is understood in Opel. Unlike most three-volume vehicles artificially made from hatchbacks, the Opel Astra J is harmonious and elegant. The silhouette of the car turned out nice and balanced. So much so that the Astra sedan is perceived as a completely independent model without any hint of rough “surgery”. From the side, you can clearly see how smoothly and proportionally the bend in the trunk area is made, skillfully fitting the stern into the overall image.
Changes in the front of the restyled cars are barely perceptible. There, the Germans slightly corrected the bumper, visually lightened the radiator grille and revised the fog lamp blocks. Designers also proposed new wheels, and marketers instructed engineers to improve options.

The updated cars have a second-generation Opel Eye front camera with an improved traffic sign recognition system (TSA II), a lane departure warning system (LDW), a distance detection system (FDI) and a forward collision warning system (FCA). True, all this "economy" works correctly only in Europe.

In the same place - in Europe - after restyling, Astra received an updated range of engines derived from existing ones. In Russia, the family of power units has remained unchanged and is represented by the old aspirated 1.6 (115 hp, 155 Nm), turbo engine 1.4 (140 hp, 200 Nm) and supercharged 1.6 (180 hp, 230 Nm).

Under the hood of the test specimen, the most powerful 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine worked. His partner was a six-speed "automatic" GM 6T40, developed by General Motors engineers. Under normal conditions, the engine and gearbox understand each other well and get along well with each other. But in moments of assertive acceleration, suggesting a quick transition to a lower stage, jolts, inaccuracies and hitches are periodically noticeable in switching. The car pulls a little. Despite this, the acceleration of the 180-horsepower Astra feels assertive and alive. In places it is even cramped in the city. Traffic lights and traffic jams hinder its potential. The machine asks for operational space.

Breaking out on it, once again it becomes clear that the settings of the chassis and controls of the Astra J are universal. The steering is devoid of excessive nervousness, but it works accurately. The same alignment with the suspension. The Astra J lacks pinpoint accuracy and lightning-fast response, but there are no rolls with buildup either. The chassis does not make you afraid. It is safe and predictable, and sometimes even ready to forgive some mistakes.

Behind the Astra sedan is the Watt mechanism with two jet rods coming from the trailing arms and connected by a rocker arm through a rigid central hinge. This design is lighter and cheaper than a multi-link, but is close in behavior to it. In addition, this solution allows you to reduce the transverse load on the silent blocks. As a result, for the sake of comfort, they can be made softer. The front suspension is C-Class template: aluminum wishbones and McPherson struts.

By default, the stiffness of the Astra suspension is average, without obvious dominance in one direction or another. But if the car is equipped with the optional FlexRide system, then the driver can calibrate not only the stiffness of the shock absorbers, but also adjust the reactions to the controls. The option provides three modes: sports (Sport), comfortable (Tour) and "civilian", which is activated by deactivating the other two. In normal mode, the car is not much different from the version without FlexRide. Pressing the Sport button turns the instrument lighting to scarlet, puts the box in quick-fire mode and sharpens the response to the gas pedal. The engine speed increases, and as a result, acceleration is juicy. It is noteworthy that it will not be possible to reveal all the delights of the FlexRide sports mode on atmospheric 1.6 (115 hp, 155 Nm). Checked! But the Tour mode is appropriate for any Astra engine. It makes the car more comfortable without going to extremes. Astra maintains minimal rolls and does not irritate with excessive buildup, but it overcomes joints and sharp bumps on the pavement more gently.

In the interior after restyling, everything is as before. The same steering wheel, the same instruments, the same scattering of keys on the center console. Minor flaws in ergonomics have also been preserved. Visibility is acceptable, but not standard. The “blind” front struts interfere the most. The shape of the exterior mirrors partially limits the view. The Astra parking sensors will not hurt, but the blind spot radar is more of an overkill. An extensive "keyboard" in the middle of the interior makes it difficult to use even in a parking space. In the sedan, there are even one more buttons. The trunk here opens either with a key or with a key from the passenger compartment. Compared to the hatchback, in the standard state, the volume of the trunk for luggage has increased by 90 liters (up to 460 liters), although if we compare the capacity of the trunks with the seats folded down, it turns out that more can fit in the five-door Astra. At the same time, using the trunk of a sedan is more convenient than usual. The opening is wide, the loading height is acceptable, the organization of space is reasonable.

Adjustment of the driver's seat is enough for people of different builds and categories. The chair itself is without obvious miscalculations, although the optional AGR seats adjust to the body even more delicately. There is little space on the back sofa. There are also significantly more spacious cars in the segment. Tall behind tall sits with minimal knee clearance and a light touch of the head to the ceiling due to the noticeably sloping roofline. This is the same in the hatchback, but the Sports Tourer station wagon allows rear passengers to straighten up without harming their heads.

Subjectively, the five-door hatchback and sedan are options for those who want to combine a pleasant driving character with a moderate level of practicality. For those who are unconditionally important handling, there is the Opel Astra GTC with a tricky front suspension, inaccessible to other bodies (although there is also a GTC OPC). And if you take the Astra for travel, a station wagon will be a reasonable choice.

Prices

Under the pretext of the falling ruble exchange rate, since February 10, GM has raised ruble prices for its cars. At the same time, the Russian automotive market has been stalling for more than a month. Therefore, behind a formal price increase, it is still realistic to agree on discounts and special offers.

One way or another, the base price of the Astra sedan is 674,900 rubles. This is the cost of a car with atmospheric 1.6 (115 hp, 155 Nm), five-speed manual in the Essetia version. An intermediate version of the Enjoy package, depending on the motor and engine, is sold for 776,900 - 854,900 rubles. Prices for the top version of Cosmo walk in the range of 835,900 - 968,900 rubles. It is noteworthy that in addition, Astra can be equipped with options and packages that raise the price higher. So, a packed test sedan crossed the mark of a million rubles.

The unique rear suspension of the new Opel Astra is a combination of a torsion beam and a Watt mechanism. Although the principle of the Watt mechanism has been known for over 200 years, until recently it was predominantly used in racing cars. In fact, the principle is very simple. A vertical element is installed in the center of the car, to which two horizontal rods are attached. The vertical element is able to rotate about the horizontal axis, and the ends of the rods are connected to the rear wheel hubs. As a result, any side impact from one side is immediately compensated from the other side, thereby increasing the vehicle's stability. The main advantage of this mechanism is the effective prevention of lateral displacement of the rear wheels, which helps to increase the smoothness of the ride.

The Watt mechanism comes standard with several engine types and trims, and is also available in combination with certain options such as FlexRide and an electrically operated parking brake.

Flex Ride Chassis

Imagine a car that changes its behavior depending on the road conditions and your driving style. This means that at the touch of a button you can choose between maximum comfort or a dynamic sports car. This is exactly what the FlexRide system is all about.

The FlexRide electronic chassis control system reacts instantly to changing driving conditions and constantly adapts to your driving style. The damper stiffness control system changes damper stiffness in real time. Quad-channel ABS with electronic brake force distribution, traction control and ESPPlus ensure fantastic driving performance.

The adaptive FlexRide chassis allows you to change the driving characteristics of the car at the touch of a button. Choose between three modes: Sport, Tour and Normal. Each of them is designed for different driving conditions.

Opel Eye

The Opel Eye is a windshield-mounted camera that scans the road and feeds information to other assistance systems: AFL+ (previous page), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). Later models of the Opel Astra range are equipped with a new version of the Opel Eye system with an improved camera.

Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL)

The new Astra is available with Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL), the most advanced forward lighting system in the compact car segment.

The movable optics of the bi-xenon headlights automatically adjust to different road conditions, providing an increased level of safety and driving comfort. Nine headlight modes suit every situation, providing up to 90% better light levels than conventional headlights without dazzling other drivers.

The adaptive headlight system significantly improves visibility when cornering and increases safety when driving at night. The ride becomes much more comfortable.

Cruise control with speed limiter

Although cruise control is useful when driving in light traffic on the highway, etc., the advantage of the speed limiter function is that it can be used in city traffic as well as in heavy traffic, where it allows you to drive, strictly observing speed limits. The speed limiter allows the driver to set the vehicle's maximum speed from 25 km/h.

The limit function can be very useful for meeting speed limits of 30 km/h in urban areas.

The driver can disable the speed limit by downshifting. In this case, a warning is displayed. The speed limiter function automatically recovers after any braking, returning the vehicle to the speed allowed by reducing the torque.

Blind Spot Assist (SBSA)

A Blind Spot Alert Sensor, specially built into the side mirror, monitors traffic in adjacent lanes and alerts you if another vehicle enters the blind spot. The system is used at speeds up to 140 km/h.

Perfect parking

Thanks to the smart system, you will never miss a suitable parking space. After analyzing the situation, the system displays precise instructions on the central display, which help the driver to find the perfect parking spot.

Rear View Camera

The rear view camera, which is mounted on the tailgate handle, is automatically activated when reversing and provides a viewing angle of up to 130 degrees. The image is displayed on the infotainment screen.

Thanks to the high position of the camera, an image of the rear bumper is shown on the screen, which allows for better orientation. Reference lines are superimposed on the image output from the camera, showing the direction of movement of the car in accordance with the current position of the steering wheel. Horizontal lines are displayed at 1m intervals, which allows you to accurately determine the distance to any object or obstacle.

Passive safety

The new Opel Astra hatchback is equipped with the latest active safety systems; in addition, passenger safety is enhanced by the use of state-of-the-art passive safety systems.

In the body structure, technical solutions such as high-strength steel, rigid roll cage, programmed deformation elements, collapsible elements and parts with predetermined impact energy trajectories are widely used. The design and structure of these elements show that the new Opel Astra meets all safety standards. The main advantage of Opel technology is that damage to the car is minimized in collisions at low speed, which reduces repair costs.

Other passive safety systems include front seat belt pretensioners and curtain airbags. The Emergency Pedal Release System (PRS) automatically releases the pedal mounts to avoid injury to the rider's feet and lower legs in the event of a major crash.

To protect your new Opel Astra from theft, an advanced security system is designed that meets most of the most stringent requirements of insurance companies.

Traffic Sign Recognition System (TSA)

The TSA Traffic Sign Recognition system monitors traffic signs, displaying them immediately on the screen, and recognizes speed limits. The new improved version of the TSA system can recognize even more signs in more countries, even electronic signs on highways.

Ergonomic sports seats

Electric parking brake

The electric parking brake, activated at the touch of a button, reduces the effort required from the driver and improves parking safety. In combination with Hill Start Assist and Hill Hold, which prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards, the electric parking brake provides a comfortable and safe start.

Dual zone climate control

Creates a feeling of complete comfort. The driver and passenger in the front seat can choose the optimum temperature independently of each other. The climate control system is also equipped with an air recirculation function for more efficient heating and cooling.

panoramic sunroof

The transparent power sunroof panel gives the impression of open space overhead. The aerodynamics of the car with a sunroof was carefully designed - a deflector and two-chamber sound insulation are provided.

Infotainment systems

receiving traffic information, instructions from the navigation system, connecting to pre-set radio stations or your MP3 player, the integrated infotainment system in the Opel Astra is easy to operate and attractive in appearance.

You can choose between the CD 300 infotainment system, a three-line display showing time, temperature, etc., or the CD 400 with MP3 playback and an additional audio input. The state-of-the-art Navi 900 Europe system is equipped with a 7-inch color display that provides a three-dimensional view of the area and a navigator with an 8 GB SD card capable of storing map data, as well as a detailed guide.

Infinity audio system

Up to 18 storage spaces

In the new Opel Astra sedan you will find plenty of compartments for things that can be conveniently used by the driver and passenger in the front seat. Door upholstery pockets with bottle holders, a driver compartment, cup holders, a large glove box, and front and rear center armrests with lockable compartments - depending on the equipment, the car can have up to 18 compartments for storing relatively large and small items.

Luggage compartment with Flex Floor system

The folding backrest of the rear seat allows you to increase the volume of the luggage compartment of the new Opel Astra from 370 to 1235 liters. With the unique Flex Floor system, the floor level can be lowered to maximize the height and volume of the luggage compartment. In the center position, the floor is at the same level as the folded rear seatbacks, resulting in a flat floor. And when in the highest position, the floor is flush with the tailgate sill to facilitate loading and unloading. The backrest is easily removed and fixed, providing access to the spare wheel and additional hidden storage compartments.

FlexFix bike rack

Universal car attachments usually involve inconvenient additions. Forget about it! The FlexFix bike carrier appears when you need it - simply slides out of the rear bumper without taking up space in your garage or home.

The system is adapted to carry two bicycles, which are easy to set up due to the low position of the system.

General impression:

Behind the wheel for 6 years, I drive every day, there is something to compare with both the classmates of the model (Focus 3, Renault Megan \ Fluence, Golf 7, Octavia 3, Hyundai i30, Kia Ceed, Cruze hatch, etc.) and a variety of more expensive foreign cars (LC200, Audi A6, Infiniti QX50, etc.). In general, reading the shortcomings, it may seem that I do not like the car, but no, it is not. I like the car, but I can not ignore the shortcomings. Let it be mine and bought with hard-earned money, but it’s bad to deceive yourself, you have to face the truth. Ask why then almost everywhere 5 stars, if there are such shortcomings? And because there are no criteria in the "star" ratings that coincide with my shortcomings. The body type did not play a role for me, I looked at both the sedan and the hatchback, in the same way with a gearbox, manual or automatic, I didn't care. As a result, I took a hatchback 115 hp on the handle, black 2014 model year. Options Cosmo, since 2014 they put a "TV" CD600 without native navigation. Dual-zone climate, steering wheel heating, passive cruise control, 7 speakers (if you add bass in the equalizer, it’s very good for the built-in acoustics, but a subwoofer is needed), heated front seats, a rear-view camera from the 2014 model year. Combined upholstery, steering wheel in leather, soft plastic on the upper front panel. Halogen headlights, I regret that I didn’t take adaptive xenon, be sure to take it, you won’t regret it, the kit comes with a road marking tracking system, if I’m not mistaken, and adaptive cruise control. The ground clearance is low, you should not park in front of the curb, there is of course a rubber skirt, but tearing it off is a matter of time. General impressions are good. Almost excellent. Of course, it cannot stand comparison with more expensive cars, and the owners of Cayennes and Mercedes, if they read this, will laugh at the words "excellent impressions", but in comparison with classmates, it will not fall face down in the dirt and even stand up for its honor of a German car, albeit Russian assembly. If Opel's reputation among the people scares you, drop all doubts and go for a test drive. Well, a rhetorical question, will I take another Opel as the next car? Rather yes than no. There are flaws in any car, I reconciled with mine, the main thing is not to deceive yourself.

Advantages:

Now about the good. Let's go through the stars. Design. To each their own, but I really like it. Therefore 5 stars from me. Comfort. I took off a star for the noise of the wheel arches, it's bad, but it's not critical for me, I'm already used to it. The rumble is certainly worth it, but you don’t need to make the music louder, don’t worry, everything is within reason. The comfort of landing is excellent, even on regular seats. If you're really picky about where your butt rests, take the optional AGR Spine Safety Certified seats. On regular ones, the lateral support is a little lame, but nothing gets numb on long trips. There is an armrest, in leather, movable, comfortable for the elbow. There is a lot of space in the back, I can’t really evaluate it, since I myself am not tall, I sit close, and an elephant will fit behind me. Tall friends do not beat their heads on the roof from behind. Manageability. 5 stars. I didn’t take the adaptive chassis, but even on standard settings it flies into turns like it’s on rails. Super. 17s make their presence felt on our roads, but if that's the price for great handling, then I'm willing to pay it. Ergonomics. 5 stars. This is also subjective, of course. Everyone is comfortable in different ways. But do not be afraid of the abundance of buttons, 15 minutes and that's it, you already know them like family. The CD600 is convenient to use, the screen is not touch-sensitive, the menu is clear, there is a Bluetooth wireless connection, music plays through it. The steering wheel has all the necessary cruise and music control buttons, as well as a phone voice control button, on an iPhone it turns on Siri, it may come in handy for someone. The doors are heavy, massive, they close with a very noble sound, again, do not compare with Porsche, BMW and other Germans. In general, I did not find anything to complain about in ergonomics. Reliability. I took off a star for crickets in the cabin, this is not the case, it’s impossible. Everything else is great. In the cold, the back and the first are sometimes hard to stick in, but this goes away as soon as the box warms up. Everything else works like a Swiss watch, absolutely without comment, not a single extra glitch and incomprehensible knock. I read reviews, they write that it is pouring, starting with almost 1000 km. I don't. I'm great. Service and repair. 5 stars based on the previous point. Not a single hint of damage, and, accordingly, repairs. I haven’t been to MOT yet, but TO-1 will be around 7tr. I think this is a reasonable price. What else can I remember the advantages that were not included in the list: All power windows with auto-closers (who considers this not a plus, but look at Mazda 3 as a routine). Heated steering wheel. Already mentioned, but the thing is just great, incredibly convenient. Consumption within passport data, even if sometimes drive fast. I don’t know about the rest, but I fit into 8.3 liters. Swing wipers, very convenient. Also, since 2014, even on the mechanics, the Cosmo includes a hill-start assist system, it holds the brakes for 2-3 seconds after releasing the pedal, so that you have time to move your foot to the gas. Standard Bridgestone Turanza tires. There is a dokatka in the trunk. The brakes are excellent, like on many modern cars, of course, disc brakes are everywhere. To turn off completely - hold the shutdown button for 10 seconds, if you just press it, it will only weaken its effect.

Flaws:

1) LKP - bad. It's useless to argue. I don’t know why, maybe these are the features of the Russian assembly and painting, but the slightest touch of the body leaves a scratch on the varnish, small pebbles flying from the road leave chips on the hood. And I'm not talking about those stones that, if they hit like that, they hit, no, these are ordinary small stones, which are full on the road. So if you are considering a purchase, take white, do not stare at the beauty of dark metallics. And the chips will be less visible and the cobwebs on the varnish are less noticeable in white. I would take the white one myself if I had a chance to change. 2) Wide A-pillars. There is nothing to describe, really wide, close the review. Front triangular windows help, but weakly. Not critical, you can get used to. 3) Crickets interior. It's just an attack. I read reviews, for some people the interior began to creak and rattle after the first 500 km of run. I started somewhere around 2500. There is a lot of information on the Internet on specialized forums on this issue, you can find the entire list of crickets and ways to eliminate them, they are not as complicated as they seem. Runs or not? Me not really. Only the feeling haunts you that you bought not the cheapest foreign car, but it rattles like a VAZ 2109 on bumps, as if you were deceived a little. 4) The engine, or rather its power. 115 horsepower. By the way, they write 116 in the TCP, keep in mind when calculating the transport tax, the difference is negligible, but still. I scold myself for not saving money and not taking a 140 turbo. The engine does not pull, the car does not go. What does it mean not to go, you ask? From low revs, the dynamics are poor, the engine has to be constantly twisted to achieve acceptable acceleration, dips between gear changes do not allow to continue accelerating sharply and stuff like that. Of course, it all depends on the driving style. On duty, I drive 40-50 km daily on the highway and I like to drive fast, rarely when I drive slower than 150 km / h. To keep the speed in the region of 160-170, you have to squeeze the poor 115 horses like a lemon. In justification, I’ll say that the passport 190 (more precisely 189) the car drives, with a long straight section it will go 200, maybe 205-210 under good conditions, I haven’t tried it. But acceleration at such speeds is already slow, 189 ..... 190 .... 191 ..... and so on. The engine roars, noise-vibration isolation is trying, little noise from the engine gets into the cabin, only from the arches, all the pebbles from the road and the rustling of tires are heard there. In general, to sum up, if you don’t have enough money for a 140 turbo, and you like active movement in space - don’t take 115 hp, be sure to save up and take 140 hp, and ideally 180 in general, went for a test drive, plane. If 150-160 km / h is enough for you on the highway, and you drive calmly in the city, 115 hp will be just right for you. Automatic) ride on a par, the owners of VAZ 2108-15 try, but at 160-180 (someone drowns) they fall off, and I go further, albeit not without effort. Priors, Kalina, Grants, even with 106 horses, do not catch up along the highway, in the city from a traffic light they can give a fight. The entire C class with turbo engines bypasses calmly, if aspirated, then you can compete. 5) Soundproofing arches. As mentioned above, the arches are poorly insulated, there is a rumble and the sound of stones is heard. You can get used to it, it's not critical. If it infuriates you a lot, you can add insulation yourself, there are recipes on the Internet.
