Where is Renault Megane produced each year? Where Renault Megane is assembled for our market. Renault Megane dimensions

Hi all. So I moved to live in Sochi. Accordingly, now there is no time for a car, you need to buy a home. But at the same time I decided to fulfill my dream, to buy a convertible. It was decided to replace the German barn with something without a roof. There weren't many options, but they were.... full review →

Visually, I long ago decided on the Megane 3, however, everyone dissuaded me: not to sell, the French - ugh, womanish... I sent everyone to distant Palestine and began to decide on specific items (interior, kit). I chose one in Moscow, where friends had already bought, after 5... full review →

The car was purchased on January 17, 2011 in the Expression + Hands Free package. Because I didn’t want to stand in line to buy a car, I took what was available. Plus, at that time it was offered to buy a car in installments for 2 years, which I was... full review →

Let's start with the fact that, having more than a quarter of a century of experience, I have tried many cars. Which ones? There is no point in telling, it’s easier to say which ones were in personal possession: Kopeyka - the first car; Shah - new version of the penny; Ford Tempo - a car about nothing; measures 260 in the back of 124,... full review →

Hello everyone, I want to write a little about my Renault Megane. I bought it a month ago at a car dealership, took the basic package plus air conditioning. Engine 1.4, 100 horses. The power is quite enough for the city and the highway, and the consumption is low. I put good music in the car, plus... full review →

Hi all! I have a Renault Megane with a station wagon body, a 2-liter engine and an automatic transmission. I bought it last year for 740 thousand. I really like the car. The interior is nice and comfortable. Very good seats, there is enough space in the rear seats. The only thing I don’t like is... full review →

Prices for Renault Megane II (2003-2009 model years) were initially quite affordable. Add to them an avant-garde appearance for the early 2000s and good equipment - and here is the secret of its former popularity. On the secondary market, Megan is no less attractive, and it becomes cheaper quite quickly. Maybe for a reason?

Europeans liked the extravagant hatchback, which in 2003, a year after its debut, became the European Car of the Year, and a year later took first place in absolute sales. Our favorite is a more spacious and practical sedan (80% of sales), the production of which was launched in Bursa, Turkey, in 2004. And all station wagons (15% of sales) are made in Spain.

Any of the bodies, regardless of the type or place of production, is well protected from corrosion - the metal panels are galvanized, and the front fenders and trunk floor are made of polypropylene. But who is without sin? Rust may appear on the rear wheel arches with paint worn down to metal - by the way, keep an eye on the integrity of the anti-gravel stickers on the rear fenders, which can easily be torn off by a strong stream of water during washing.

The interior does not look outdated even after the change of generations, but with age it gets squeaky, and the standard VDO Dayton radio in cars older than 2007 is prone to failures

The chain mail is short - the limp carpet crawls out from under the pads at every opportunity

Electric windows are not reliable, and the door upholstery fabric is resistant to staining. The rubber-plastic coating of interior door handles begins to peel off after intensive use after just a couple of years.

The reason for premature failure of the support bearings of the front struts is insufficient protection from dirt. The electric power steering (1,700 euros) is beyond repair and must be replaced in case of any malfunction

The DP0 automatic transmission is a real time bomb that can “explode” after 60-80 thousand kilometers

There are no special complaints about manual transmissions, but be sure to check the condition of the seals and gaskets to ensure they do not leak

When replacing a faulty phase shifter on gasoline engines of the K4M and F4R models, a new timing belt will be required.

Rubber window seals come off on their own, and on hatchbacks produced in 2005, the rear window can shatter for no apparent reason - when purchasing, make sure that the former owner did not ignore the brand recall company.

Sedans have an even more exotic problem - during severe frosts their roofs can swell! The peak of the epidemic occurred in the harsh winter of 2006, and the culprit was the thermal and noise insulation firmly glued to the roof panel - shrinking from the cold, it pulled the metal with it. Since 2007, mats made of a different material have been used, and signs of roof repair on older cars are not at all a sign of their accident history.

Renault is trying to position the Scenic compact van as an independent model, but technically it is the same Megane II

The body of the SS coupe-cabriolet “plays” noticeably when driving on uneven roads, and the components of the folding hard roof become loose over time

The sedan's wheelbase is 65 mm longer than that of the hatchback, but due to the sloping roof and blocked pillars, it is less comfortable to sit in the back.

The fastest of the Megans, RS with “supercharged” to 224-230 hp. two-liter F4R engine, almost indistinguishable in appearance

Five-door hatchbacks are rare on our roads, and three-door hatchbacks are completely exotic

The station wagon is built on the same platform with an extended wheelbase as the sedan. Due to the Spanish assembly, it cost 60 thousand rubles more when new, so it did not gain the same popularity

The dampness does not spare electricians: the contacts of the lights oxidize (in pre-restyling sedans older than 2006, the lens melts due to local overheating), and xenon ignition units fail (200 euros each). The electric door glass drives (300 euros) are poorly protected from water, and their control buttons do not shine with reliability even when dry.

The interior air conditioner is equally likely to go on strike due to a failure of the fan (250 euros), its control unit (180 euros), and even worse after 100 thousand kilometers - due to a jammed air conditioning compressor (900 euros). In cars of early years of production, it was often necessary to replace the “head” of the standard audio system under warranty, the display of which did not go out when the ignition was turned off.

The main “consumables” at the front are levers and steering rods

The silent blocks of the rear suspension are not particularly durable, but they are located in plain sight - it is not difficult to control their condition

It can be easier to extinguish the illuminated airbag malfunction signal by inspecting the electrical connector under the driver's seat. Worse, if after 80-100 thousand kilometers the cause turns out to be a break in the electrical wiring in the steering column - its precursors will be clicks when turning the steering wheel, and the entire block of steering column switches will have to be replaced (250 euros).

And don’t be lazy to clean the drain holes in front of the windshield at least once a year (to do this you will have to remove the windshield wiper arms and the protective plastic casing). Otherwise, you risk not only creating a swamp in the cabin and spoiling the thermal and noise insulation of the engine shield, but also unscheduledly changing the “trapezoid” of the wipers (400 euros assembled with the motor): once it is drowned in the “pool” of the drainage tray, it will not last long.

Numerous electrical wiring connectors under the hood also do not like dampness - it is better to think twice before washing the engine. And it is advisable to treat individual ignition coils (45 euros each) without washing them with a special lubricant at the point of contact with the spark plug - this is a chance to somehow extend their life. Probably every “mega-driver” knows where the coils are and how to change them - this weakness was inherited from the first generation machines. Until 2006, all gasoline Megans were equipped with only Sagem coils, which sometimes did not last up to 30-40 thousand kilometers. Then Beru or Denso coils began to be installed on most cars - they last much longer.

If the engine does not want to start at all, you should start looking for the culprits with the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors (30-40 euros). A more expensive source of trouble for the most common 1.6 engine (85% of cars on our market) and for a two-liter unit (6% of cars) is the variable valve timing system. Before the modernization of the unit during restyling in 2006, the phase shifter in the gas distribution mechanism drive (500 euros) was meekly replaced under warranty, which often became the first surprise for owners of completely new cars with only 20 thousand kilometers. At first, the mechanism quietly jams, which makes it difficult to start the engine in cold weather, and then loudly announces its fatigue (at first - only after a cold start) with “diesel” rattling - the sealing plates of the phase shifter rotor blades wear out and the retainer socket in the stator housing breaks.

Be careful - the low plastic trunk bottom is easy to crack. On cars before 2006, the rear brake mechanisms were not equipped with mudguards, which leads to accelerated wear of the internal pads

In winter, the plastic gas tank flap often freezes, and an attempt to open it ends in the latch breaking

Active drivers of cars with a lively two-liter engine often finish off the rear support of the power unit after 30-40 thousand kilometers (with a 1.6 engine it usually lasts two to three times longer), and it makes sense to change the water pump of any of the units along with the timing belt every 60 thousand kilometers - he’s unlikely to make it to the next one. By the way, do not be tempted to change the belt in “Uncle Vasya’s garage”: the pulleys on the crankshaft and camshaft are without keys, and you not only need to correctly set the phases, but also tighten the fastening bolts correctly - the consequences of turning the pulley are no better than if the belt breaks .

Transmission problems? Available. Manual transmissions - whether six-speed in two-liter cars or five-speed with less powerful engines - rarely fail on their own. They can only be blamed for the lever strokes that are unclear from birth and for oil seal leaks after 100 thousand kilometers (watch the oil level - otherwise the differential bearings will suffer). But jerks at the moment of closing the clutch discs often begin after some 10-15 thousand kilometers. The twitching is especially noticeable when the unit heats up in the heat or when driving in congestion - and cannot be radically cured even by replacing the “basket” assembly (250 euros).

But this is a saying. And the fairy tale is the adaptive “automatic” DP0 (price 3,500 euros), under the name AL4, which bothered owners of Peugeot and Citroen cars (AR No. 11 and 18, 2009). The unit, which debuted in 1999, was improved throughout its life, but remained capricious. The box does not like to work in a cold state and is sensitive to the oil level (if there is no dipstick, you can only check it on a lift). Both the oil seals and the torque converter are at risk (overhaul will cost 700-1000 euros), but most often - sometimes after 60-80 thousand kilometers - due to strong shocks when switching, you have to change the modulation valves or the entire valve body (200-450 euros ).

The metal of the body is reliably protected by galvanization: the chip in the photo is more than a year old

Anti-gravel stickers on the rear fenders do not stick well. On the other hand, the sticker on this car has completely fallen off

Plastic front fenders are not afraid of light impacts, but the bumper latches on them break off easily

0 / 0

There are also known weaknesses in the suspension. Take, for example, the support bearings of the front struts (100 euros) - before the structure was strengthened in 2007, their warranty replacements due to knocking on uneven surfaces occurred even after 15-20 thousand kilometers. But if you hear a rattling sound in the steering column, don’t rush to service right away - this is the norm on every second car: the steering shaft could reach the travel limiter in new cars. The “rack” itself (600 euros) usually requires surgical intervention with the replacement of a broken bushing no earlier than 70 thousand kilometers. As a rule, the steering ends last the same amount of time, but the rods (40 euros each) until then have time to be updated a couple of times - that rare case when it makes sense to install a more durable “non-original”.

The silent blocks of the McPherson front suspension arms could last 120-150 thousand kilometers if they did not go to waste twice as soon, along with the arms (100 euros each) with worn-out non-removable ball joints. Of course, non-original hinges can be purchased separately, but how strong a lever with a ball joint secured with bolts will be is an unanswered question.

Halogen low beam lamps do not last long, but change jesuitically - by touch, through hatches in the front wheel arches

Does the windshield fog up quickly and is there a lot of dirt under the hood? This means that the sound insulation of the engine shield has swelled and the seal has sagged. To clean the drainage pipes, you will have to remove the windshield wiper arms and the housing under the windshield. Short-lived ignition coils (on this engine they are of different brands) are easy to change - spare ones in the trunk will not hurt

The bushings and anti-roll bar struts are surprisingly durable, giving no reason to remember them until 110-130 thousand kilometers - the front shock absorbers, for example, last the same amount of time (90 euros). Rear shock absorbers operating at a large angle (50 euros) are heavier - they often show their fatigue not by leaking, but by knocking before 100 thousand kilometers, and pay attention to the silent blocks of the rear beam (70 euros) after 100-120 thousand kilometers: if they creak - that means they are torn.

You probably already understand why the Renault Megane II becomes so temptingly accessible as it ages. But if your soul still asks for it, we advise you to pay attention to cars after restyling in 2006 (the French call them cars of the second phase) - many “childhood diseases” have been cured, and reliability causes fewer complaints. How tempting are the prices? Four to five year old cars with a 1.4 engine are estimated at 300-400 thousand rubles, with a 1.6 liter engine - at 330-450 thousand rubles - the same price fits, for example, Chevrolet Lacetti (AR No. 14-15, 2010) or Peugeot 307 (AR No. 11, 2009), and more reliable same-year Toyota Corolla or Mazda 3 are more expensive. And the most interesting offer is, of course, two-liter Megans: they are only 10-20 thousand rubles more expensive. And, of course, it is better to prefer “mechanics” - although you will have to get used to the jerky nature of the clutch.

Vladimir Khvatkin

27 years old, Moscow, system administrator

My previous car was also a Renault Megane II, but in a poor Authentique package, with a 1.4 engine and a manual transmission. For five years, out of unscheduled replacements - only ignition coils under warranty. That Megane captivated me with the convenience of its interior and the comfort of its suspension, so I changed it to a hatchback - also five years old, with the same mileage of 80 thousand kilometers, but in the Dynamique configuration, with a 1.6 engine and an automatic transmission. I knew about the weakness of the box, but on this car the valve block had already been replaced under warranty. But I “fell into” the engine phase regulator - a few months after the purchase, replacing it along with the belt and pump cost 15 thousand rubles, and that was only through an acquaintance. Soon, half of the ignition coils had to be replaced on this engine (no longer under warranty, at 1000 rubles apiece). Then it gets worse: due to a short-circuit in the wiring that had rotted in the rear door, the fuse box first blew out, and then the starter burned out (the tow truck and repairs with used spare parts cost 17 thousand rubles). And all this happened in a year and 15 thousand kilometers. In general, my next car is unlikely to be a Megane.

A fairly large number of cars are represented on the Russian market in the “C” segment. But the model that stands out most against their background is the Renault Megane. Since the release of the first generation, this car has been a representative of the golf class. It has survived several regenerations and today buyers have the opportunity to purchase a third-generation Renault Megane car in a hatchback body. The manufacturer experimented a lot and produced a variety of versions of this car (3-door Renault Megan, 5-door Renault Megan Sport, station wagon, Renault Megan Convertible).

Today, many owners and fans of the brand are interested in where Renault Megane is assembled for the Russian market? The first generation of this car model appeared on the domestic market in 1996, when it replaced the Renault 19 car. Since that time, the car has gone through three restylings, and it was produced wherever. The first generation Renault Megane was a “purebred” Frenchman, as it was supplied from the north of France (Douai plant). In addition, the first Meganes were collected for other markets in Spain (the city of Palencia). The second generation of the model was released in 2002. The updated “French” was assembled in three countries at once:

  • Türkiye produced a sedan
  • Spain produced a station wagon
  • France produced a hatchback.

A short time later, a Renault Megan production plant was opened in Turkey (Oyak-Renault plant, Bursa). From that time until 2011, a Turkish-made hatchback was sold on the Russian market. This third generation car model was also assembled in Turkey and Russia at the Avtoframos plant from 2010 to 2013. But last year, after the release of the modernized Megan model, production was resumed at this very plant near Moscow, where the “French” is produced to this day.

Which countries produce other Renault models?

We have already figured out where Renault Megane is produced for the Russian market. Now let's talk about other countries that produce Renault cars. A subsidiary company, Renault Russia (“Avtoframos”), has been operating in our country since 1998. Several car models are assembled here. Also, cars of the French concern are produced by another domestic enterprise - AvtoVAZ. In addition to the Russian Federation, cars of this brand are assembled in the following countries:

  • Romania (cars assembled here are sent to the European market, and partly to the Russian one);
  • India (Renault is produced here for the domestic market, as well as for Africa and Asia);
  • Russia (Avto VAZ and Avtoframos - produce cars for the domestic market);
  • Brazil (produces cars for the domestic market; cars of this assembly are not transported to Russia);
  • Spain (city of Valencia).

Our domestic company produces Renault Megane with a 1.6 liter petrol engine. The power plant works in tandem with both a manual and automatic transmission. But, buyers can purchase this model with a 2.0-liter Turkish-assembled engine.

Russian Renault Megan

Official dealers can offer our fans this car model in six trim levels. The basic version of the car with a 1.6-liter engine will cost buyers 569,000 rubles. Where they produce Renault Megane, they know about the peculiarities of our roads and climate. Therefore, during the assembly process, all factors are taken into account that allow us to produce machines that are most suitable for operation in our harsh conditions. For 784,000 rubles, the buyer will receive a fully equipped car with everything necessary. Our compatriots will be able to purchase a model with a 2.0-liter unit. This version of the car is assembled in Türkiye, and only in two trim levels.

The Russian Renault Megane is slightly different from its European cousin. The car began to weigh less - by 8 kilograms, and became eight centimeters longer. The luggage compartment volume has been increased by 75 liters. The wheelbase of the domestic “French” is 2641 mm. An interesting fact is that only our customers will have access to Megan in “plate gray” and “mineral blue” colors. If we consider the technical side of the European and Russian versions of the car, they are almost identical. The transmission and suspension design remained unchanged. The interior of the hatchback will please you. Everything here is done at the highest level, there is nothing superfluous. Our engineers installed a good instrument panel and used high quality materials. For the European market, the model is offered with a larger number of power units than for the Russian Federation.

Renault Megane for Europe is equipped with both gasoline (from 100 to 180 hp) and diesel (from 85 to 130 hp) engines. Throughout its history, this model has gone through a lot (changes, improvements, additions). But it was worth it, today this car is preferred in most countries of the world for its good price-quality ratio, as well as for its excellent driving characteristics.

Renault Megane 2 (Renault Megane) is the most popular car of the French brand, which is in constant strong demand to this day, even though the third generation of the model has long appeared on the market. The secret of such popularity is that over the years of operation, Megan 2 has established itself as a reliable and unpretentious car, thanks to which it sells well even in used condition. As you know, there are no ideal cars, therefore, today we will try to find out what disadvantages a used Renault Megane 2 has, and what you need to pay attention to when choosing a car on the secondary market.

A little history:

Renault Megane 2 was first presented in 2002 at the automobile exhibition in Paris. Initially, the car was produced only in a hatchback body with an unusual rear part (the rear window is convex and located almost vertically). A little later (in 2003), other modifications were presented to the public - With edan, station wagon and coupe. The car is built on a platform of the " WITH", which was developed jointly with Nissan, therefore, we can only talk about continuity with its predecessor (Renault Megane of the first generation) only conditionally. When designing the rear part of the body, modifications were used that were tested on the Renault Talisman concept car and introduced into production on the Renault Avatime model.

Sedan cars were assembled at a plant in Turkey, other modifications were assembled in France. In some countries, the Renault Megane 2 station wagon was sold under the name Megan Grand Tour. In 2006, the car was restyled. The changes affected: the front bumper, front and rear optics, and the instrument panel has also changed. From the same year, only one model of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine was installed on the sedan. The debut took place in 2008 , this version of the car is still produced today .

Weaknesses of Renault Megane 2 with mileage.

The body of this model is well protected from corrosion, evidenced by the fact that on most cars older than 10 years there is not even a hint of rust (applies only to those cars that have not been restored after an accident). Also, there are no special complaints about the quality of the paintwork. The only place that requires attention is the sills and rear fender liners; over time, in these places the paint will sandblast down to the metal (the problem can be solved by covering the problem areas with a protective film). Also, you should pay attention to the drainage system in the area of the wipers, since when it gets dirty, water gets into the interior and onto the windshield wiper mechanism, which leads to their oxidation and jamming. Often, electrical problems occur, namely, the trunk stops opening with the button (ground is lost) and the contacts of the rear lights burn out.

Engines

On the secondary market you can find Renault Megane 2 with the following power units: petrol - 1.4 (98 hp), 1.6 (115 hp) and 2.0 (136 hp). Very rarely, but still, there are Megans with a 1.5 diesel engine (85 and 105 hp), as a rule, they are imported to us from Europe with high mileage (more than 250,000 km). Therefore, the choice of such machines must be approached with caution. This type of engine is equipped with a fuel system that is sensitive to the quality of diesel fuel, which in our realities causes a lot of trouble for its owners (injectors, injection pumps, and EGR valves quickly fail). The only advantage of these engines is low fuel consumption (5.5-7 liters in the city).

Gasoline engines are better adapted to our operating conditions and can run on 92-gasoline without serious consequences. As for the reliability of this type of engine, there are no serious comments on their performance. The only thing that causes trouble is the frequent failure of the ignition coils (they are afraid of dampness). A signal that the coils need to be replaced will be: unstable engine operation, jerking during acceleration and deterioration in acceleration dynamics. To check the condition of the coils, you need to unscrew the spark plugs; if there is carbon deposits on them, the coils will most likely need to be replaced soon. If the car is often refueled with low-quality fuel, it is necessary to flush the injectors every 30-40 thousand km. If a gasoline engine starts to work like a diesel engine and at the same time fuel and oil consumption increases significantly, most likely the phase regulator has failed ( h amena will cost 300-400 USD).

Often, owners of Renault Megane 2 are faced with the problem of difficulty starting a cold engine. There can be two reasons for this ailment: the first is dirty injectors, the second is a clogged fuel pump mesh (needs cleaning or replacement). Also, the disadvantages include: loss of tightness of the throttle valve gaskets, failure of the damper on the crankshaft pulley. All engines are equipped with a timing belt drive; it must be changed at least once every 60,000 km, at the same time it is recommended to change the pump. It is better to entrust the replacement of the timing belt to professionals, since in all engines the pulleys have a keyless fit, and if the fastening bolt is not tightened enough, the pulley can turn, which will lead to the valves meeting the pistons. Approximately once every 100,000 thousand km, the catalyst and engine mounts have to be changed.

Transmission

Renault Megane 2 was equipped with five- and six-speed manual transmissions and a four-speed automatic transmission. Operating experience has shown that automatic transmissions are less reliable than manual transmissions. An automatic transmission, with proper maintenance, lasts only 100-150 thousand km, then the transmission requires a major overhaul or replacement. To extend the life of an automatic transmission in the cold season, it needs to be warmed up, but in the summer, it is prone to overheating, especially when driving in a traffic jam. In a manual transmission, the weak point is the clutch disc; the problem is that it wears unevenly. A signal that there is a problem will be jerks when shifting gears. Also, the release bearing is not famous for its long service life, as a result, the clutch has to be changed quite often, once every 60-80 thousand km.

Renault Megane 2 is equipped with a semi-independent suspension: at the front - double wishbone (MacPherson), at the rear - a lever-spring suspension with trailing arms hinged to the car body and interconnected by a beam. From the point of view of reliability and comfort, the car's suspension has proven itself well. If you do not take into account the stabilizer struts and bushings (the service life of which is 20-30 thousand km), then the weakest elements of the suspension are considered to be support bearings and steering tips, the service life of which in rare cases exceeds 50,000 km. The remaining suspension elements have a fairly long service life. For example, shock absorbers, ball joints and wheel bearings often fail after 90,000 km. Silent blocks, levers and CV joints with careful operation last 120-150 thousand km. As for the steering, the main problem here is the short service life of the plastic steering rack bushings (service life 80-100 thousand km).

Salon

Despite the fact that inexpensive materials were used to decorate the interior of the Renault Megane 2, its quality and wear resistance are practically unproblematic even after 10 years of operation. There are no special complaints about the reliability of electrical equipment. The only thing that slightly spoils the pleasant impression of the interior is the incorrect operation of the standard radio, power windows and air conditioning. When contacting service, it is recommended to replace all sensors and connectors, but, unfortunately, in most cases this does not solve the problem for long.

Result:

Despite all the shortcomings, it is rightfully considered one of the most comfortable, reliable and inexpensive cars in the “C” segment. When choosing a car of this model, you need to understand that it is no longer young and, most likely, has a significant mileage, therefore, you need to be prepared for the failure of certain components.
