Having finished with the transmission, we carried out an audit of the brakes, picked up ATE discs and pads (regular discs took away from overheating) and slightly modified the brake master cylinder. Considering that more powerful calipers are installed on Nexia after restyling, they did not touch them. At the moment, the driver’s brakes are generally satisfactory, although there are already thoughts of increasing the performance of the rear ones.

Now about the engine. On occasion, Ilya got a sports camshaft OKB Dynamics SmartCAMS, which was immediately introduced into the engine along with a modified throttle and minor cylinder head modifications. The regular exhaust went to the trash after the seats - its place was taken by the system from MG-Race (spider, two resonators and a silencer), after which the motor was carried out. The ECU remained standard, but it works with an individual program even after online settings.

The improvements made eventually led to the fact that we had to pay attention to the body, the rigidity of which, to put it mildly, raised questions. In front, they simply installed a lower stiffening strut (without it, the glasses of the racks “walked”). But the back had to do a little more difficult work ...

For normal operation, it was necessary to trim the inner edges of the rear fenders and change the shape of the wheel arches. And all again because historically Daewoo Nexia is a deep modernization of Daewoo Racer, a licensed copy of Opel Kadett. Someone in the development of the Cadette came up with the idea to make a very peculiar rear arch that covers part of the wheel and is made in such a way that it is very difficult to simply cut it without damaging the body. And UzDaewoo continued the idea and made even tighter wheel arches. As a result, the rather narrow 195-mm tires on the new Nexia, during active driving, touched the inside of the wheel arch and the edge of the wing, forcing everything to be redone.

Personally, I feel very comfortable in the car. The conditions of the “workspace” are such that I can easily drive long distances on Daewoo Nexia, about 1,000 kilometers, and not get tired at all.
