Reviews from ZiD 50-01 owners

ZiD 50-01, 2011

An easy-to-use moped, more like a motorcycle. You don’t need a license for this vehicle, because the volume of the ZiD 50-01 is just under 50 cubic meters, more precisely 49.9, with a power of 3.5 liters. With. With such characteristics, the moped does not develop a high speed, but quite sufficient, 50 km/h. Accordingly, fuel consumption is no more than two and a half liters. ZiD 50-01 is equipped with a 3-speed gearbox built into the engine. The moped is easy to control and maneuverable, as its weight is no more than 80 kg. The seating position is quite comfortable, the seat is moderately hard. A moped is suitable for trips to the garden (dacha), fishing, to the forest to pick mushrooms, to get to work and for other trips. For safety, ZiD 50-01 is equipped with turn signals and rear-view mirrors. The design of the moped resembles a motorcycle, and the driving performance is comparable to that of a motorcycle.

Advantages : easy to operate. Simple in design. No need for rights.

Flaws : I do not see.

ZiD 50-01, 2013

Sports-type motorcycle for individual use. You can go hunting, fishing or just drive. ZiD 50-01 is convenient and easy to use, reliable and does not require special driving skills. The plastic lining is easily replaced. Engine LIFAN, 1P39FMB-C, gasoline, carburetor, four-stroke, air cooling. Maximum speed 50 km. It is economical with gasoline consumption of only 2.2 liters per 100 km. Maximum load 100 kg. In case of breakdowns, finding spare parts is not a problem; there are practically all around. If you operate it correctly, then it will not soon come to finding spare parts. You don't need a license for this vehicle - just registration and technical passports are enough. For people living in rural areas, the ZiD 50-01 is very practical, but for the city it is also well suited for driving in traffic jams.

Advantages : some advantages. Saving is the most important thing.

Flaws : no serious ones.

ZiD 50-01, 2012

ZiD-50 “Pilot” is a legendary, dare I say it, Russian unit. The design of this moped is made in the style of a classic bike. As far as I know, ZiD 50-01 is the first moped with a 3-speed transmission system. This is usually not a lot of trouble: I poured oil and gasoline into the tank, in a certain proportion, and went to drive it, either into the forest or around the city. The volume of 49 cubes allows you to ride without a license. Produced in Kovrov. Unfortunately, the quality of modern ZiD 50-01 will never compare with the models produced at the beginning of the century, because the quality of parts has dropped due to imports from abroad. The moped is quite light - only 87 kg, and is very comfortable to handle. Recently, the price has sharply increased, and demand has also fallen slightly. And so see for yourself, if you need it to drive to your dacha and back, or to drive around the city without having a category A license, then this is the one, but if you need it for traveling, then you should look at another option.

Advantages : Very stylish and easy to use. Inexpensive parts.

Flaws : weak shock absorbers.

ZiD 50-01, 2013

Frankly little power. 2.5 hp at 110 kg and 4-speed semi-automatic. Frankly a “trash can”. The Chinese 1P139FMB engine is a nightmare. Runs quietly, drives quietly, crashes loudly. The fork doesn't count. The domestic ZiD 50-01 was equipped with a 4-strong 2-stroke engine with large cooling fins, high ground clearance and a peppy clutch with 3 gears. I was forced to tune the 1P139FMB to 110cc, and as a result I got a broken 2nd gear, roar, roar and rumble with vibrations transmitted along the back to the very brain. The traction became excellent with my 6 hp, the moped began to “goat”, go from any gear to get into any mud. It became very easy to overcome logs, fords, and climbs on the ZiD 50-01. But there was still no speed. Next was tuning the stars and installing a zero resistance filter. The speed increased, but the brakes remained bad. Conclusion: with the 139FMB engine (Honda Cub clone) and semi-automatic, the moped has become terrible. Too heavy at 110kg and too slow. But it is made as strong as tanks; the frame came from machine guns. Even a fall from the mountain will not end this squalor. ZID 2-stroke is definitely better than Active 4T.

Advantages : Durable frame and wheels. Smooth landing. Simple design.

Flaws : engine 139FMB. Semi-automatic The heaviest weight for a moped, a teenager will not lift 110 kg over an obstacle.

Mokik ZiD 50 02 cargo is presented in the form of a three-wheeled vehicle with a body on a strong frame designed for transporting goods. Mokik pilot ZidD 50 is a workhorse that is capable of moving on roads of any quality, including dirt roads. The model is very unpretentious in operation, and the price more than pays for the technical characteristics.

Appearance and shock-absorbing qualities of Mokik ZiD 50

Mokik ZiD 50 in its front part differs little from its two-wheeled counterparts. At the rear, the frame is a frame for a spacious body, installed between the rear wheels. The seat is long and allows two people to sit comfortably. The engine is located under the seat. The gearbox, which allows you to move in reverse, is placed between the rear wheels.

Mokik ZiD 50 02 cargo is presented in the form of a three-wheeled vehicle with a body

Fenders above the rear and front wheels, mirrors on the steering wheel arches, a chrome fork, a large square headlight in the fairing, stylish turn signals - all this gives the moped a serious and expensive look. It compares favorably with its counterparts (cargo mopeds) in style and catchy appearance. The bright, red coloring of the body and body only emphasizes the shape and pleases the eye.

For comparison, one can recall the gray-green appearance of the old “Ant”, truly a workhorse that causes despondency.

Documentation for the vehicle

The set of documents for the vehicle includes an instruction manual, a parts catalog for the mokik and a parts catalog for the engine. All this is necessary for carrying out routine maintenance and routine repairs of the moped.

The small engine volume allows you to operate the device without special rights. However, it is still better to have a motorcycle license.

Specifications

The technical characteristics of the device include several indicators:

Model range overview

The lineup consists of the following models:

Zid 50. The Mokik ZID 50 carburetor creates a power of 2 horsepower. However, there are modifications that depend specifically on the number of revolutions and, accordingly, power.

The moped model range has several options
  1. ZiD 50-01 with carburetor Mokik ZiD 50 01.
  2. ZiD 50-02 with Mokik ZiD 50 02 carburetor.
  3. ZiD 50-02 with an engine power of 2.7 hp.

In general, the models are the same. The mass of each mokik is 112 kg, the load capacity is 100 kg. The speed does not decrease, remaining within 45-50 km/h.

Price and annual maintenance cost

The trike itself costs from 62,000 rubles. Annual maintenance costs from 1000 to 3000 rubles, for oil and burnt out bulbs in the headlights. If used carefully in the first year, the trike does not require major repairs or costs. Spark plugs, rings, filters and gaskets need to be changed only during repairs or after the first year of operation.

Owner reviews

Nikolay, Yekaterinburg. My review of the cargo Mokik ZiD 50 02. I bought a moped for work. But it turned out that the declared load capacity of 100 kg was not enough for me. Fortunately, the engine is being well modified; larger diameter pistons can be installed. After upgrading the power unit, the load capacity increased to 150 kg, although the maximum speed remained at 50 km/h. But overall, everything is fine now.

Alexey, St. Petersburg. The presence of reverse speed in a moped is very convenient. You can immediately park your vehicle at a loading ramp, for example in a store, for unloading/loading. The gasoline crisis with this bike is not terrible - fuel consumption is minimal, only 2.2 liters per 100 km.

Andrey. Saratov. My company operates 10 units of Mokik Pilot ZiD 50 and 50 02 cargo trucks. In general, there are no major comments on the quality or price of service. We buy spare parts through an official dealer, the prices are quite reasonable, and besides, they are not often required. The trikes were purchased online, the product arrived in perfect condition without any delays. All my drivers have a license and wear helmets, although this is not mandatory for this type of transport.

The Degtyarev plant produced machine guns for a long time, and since the first peace period of 1946, it was repurposed to produce K-125 motorcycles. By 1950, powerful motorcycles of the Kovrovets brand were produced. Progress was made in the nineties, when a small-capacity motorcycle was released.

Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 50 cc

ZID 50 “Pilot”

Was released in 1995. It was equipped with a fairly powerful two-stroke fifty-cc engine. The lightweight moped turned out to be very powerful, and could reach a speed of 50 kilometers per hour while consuming only 2 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers.

The three-speed gearbox was integrally connected to the engine. Four years later, a model with a raised front wing was released. And later the plant pleased us with the powerful ZiD-50-01 motorcycle, equipped with a Lifan engine; this model used a semi-automatic clutch.

Based on the ZID 50 “Pilot” model, the ZDK-2.404 cargo truck was later produced. It was three-wheeled and weighed only 112 kilograms. All technical specifications were the same as the previous model. was 3 liters per hundred kilometers. The already well-known Lifan engine was installed on it. The model was complemented by a rear differential.

Since 2000, the plant has produced ZID 50-01 “Active” . There were no significant differences from previous models. A fairly powerful Chinese-made Lifan engine was used. The model was distinguished by a beautiful and stylish plastic body kit, similar to the trim of cruisers.

ZID – 36

It was a tiny motor scooter, which was also foldable. This made it possible to transport it in the trunk of a car and store it on the balcony of a high-rise building. The model was equipped with a powerful engine and reached speeds of up to 35 kilometers per hour. The ZID-36 existed from 1997 to 2007, but turned out to be economically unprofitable and was discontinued.

ZID 50 "Arkan"

The first model of a domestic scooter, released in 2000. The advantages of the model include:

  • chassis from a moped ZID – 50 “Pilot”;
  • powerful battery;
  • indicators of fuel level, low oil quantity;
  • separate lubrication system

This model differed from foreign ones in the presence of a three-speed gearbox. It was mechanical, not CVT. However, it was precisely because of this detail that the scooter was not in demand, although it was sold very inexpensively.

Later, scooter models with an engine capacity of 50 liters were released. These included “Nika”, ZID-50 “Arkan” with a CVT, ZID KM.

ZID 50-05 or ZID Lifan 50

Later, the ZID 50-05 model was produced at the Degtyarov Plant . It was a licensed copy of the famous scooter Lifan 50. The Russian model was similar to its Chinese counterpart. Its main advantages include:

  • powerful four-stroke Lifan 1P39FMA engine;
  • air cooling of the engine;
  • weight not exceeding 82 kilograms;
  • strong plastic casing that is not subject to mechanical stress and corrosion;
  • large bright headlight;
  • presence of a passenger seat;
  • the presence of spacious trunks for storing things and equipment located under the driver’s seat and dashboard;
  • presence of a glove compartment for documents and small items, locked with a key.

To the features of the ZID 50-05, like the Chinese scooter Lifan 50 , it is customary to refer to:

  • a soft saddle that allows you not to get tired from a long journey;
  • alloy wheels;
  • easy to read dashboard;
  • comfortable seat for the passenger;
  • the presence of handles that the passenger can hold on to.

ZID 50-05 and scooter Lifan 50 were famous for their:

  • small size;
  • ease of control;
  • increased maneuverability;
  • high level of security.

Model scooter Lifan 50 and its Russian copy are suitable for beginner motorcyclists. Driving them does not require special knowledge, skills or training.

The Lifan 50 scooter is a high-quality and fashionable model of scooters that has reached a high level of popularity in the world. ZID 50-05 was also in demand because it was of high quality and quite cheap.

The moped is a domestic development of the V. A. Degtyarev plant. This lightweight sports road motorcycle (enduro) managed to gain respect not only among many novice motorcyclists, but also among hunting and fishing enthusiasts.

The unpretentious "Mokik" Zid 50 Pilot is designed quite simply. We can say, according to the principle, the simpler it is, the less it breaks. Conventional 50 cc air-cooled engine, front and rear drum brakes, starting system - kickstarter handle.

Despite its simple design, the ZID 50 Pilot moped shows pretty good results on any road surface. Light weight and high ground clearance enable its owner to move over various obstacles and curbs without experiencing any difficulties. Low-maintenance 50cc engine. See is gaining momentum quite quickly, but under one condition: ride it alone. Maximum load 100 kg. makes itself felt.

The ZID plant engineers did not stop at developing this version of the motorcycle. Based on the Zid 50 moped, a cargo version called Mokik ZID 50 02 cargo And moped Zid Lifan. This plant also produced (currently discontinued) another version of the motorcycle - ZID 50 Active, the main difference between this moped and the Pilot is the oval plastic fairings. We will talk about these models in more detail in the following articles.

Not to say anything about tuning the Russian moped Zid 50 Pilot. Almost any part of this motorcycle can be improved, from boosting the engine to replacing the brakes. Therefore, the maximum speed recommended by the manufacturer of 50 kilometers per hour can easily be increased to 80-90 km/h without much damage to the engine. Fortunately, our engineers provided us with such an opportunity. But is it worth doing this when you can buy something more powerful, for example, from the 125cc or 125cc motorcycle category? Only you decide! But the fact that at the moment in Russia you do not need to have a license to drive motorcycles and mopeds speaks for itself.

On the Internet you can find many interesting articles on tuning this model, which will allow you not only to add a couple of horsepower to your “iron horse”, but also to achieve a more comfortable and safe ride.

In a good situation, after spending several months searching for a decent option on sites like auto.ru and other similar ones, such a moped in very good condition (used) can be bought within 10-15 thousand rubles. It all depends on your desire and ability to bargain.

As for purchasing spare parts for the ZID 50, you definitely won’t have any problems with this. You can buy them at almost any motorcycle store.

By buying a Zid 50 Pilot, you are buying an easy-to-use, simple-design moped that will bring you a lot of joy and positive emotions. For owners of country houses or simply “dacha residents,” this is an ideal option for going to the nearest store to buy groceries. Moreover, it does not need to be registered with the traffic police, and you can ride it without a license.

Three-wheeled cargo moped ZiD - intended for use in private households. On paved roads, including dirt roads, the compact cargo tricycle is capable of carrying up to 100 kg of cargo. On straight sections, the vehicle reaches a maximum speed of 50 km/h, while with a load the manufacturer recommends maintaining a speed limit of 30 km/h.

The ZiD 50-02 model is equipped with a Lifan 1P39FMB-C gasoline internal combustion engine, with fuel supplied through a carburetor. The engine is cooled by an air cooling system. The power of a single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a volume of 49 cm³ is 2.72 hp. or 2.0 kW. And its average AI-92 fuel consumption is 2.2 liters per 100 km.

The chassis consists of a welded tubular frame, a front telescopic fork with two spring-hydraulic shock absorbers and an independent pendulum suspension of the rear wheels, also with two spring-hydraulic shock absorbers. The front fork travel is at least 150 mm along the wheel axis, the rear suspension travel, also along the wheel axis, is 50 mm. All three wheels of the moped are spoked.

The tires of the front and rear wheels have a dimension of 2.50/85-16 (L-264). Drum brakes are made with separate mechanical drive on the front and rear wheels. The diameter of the brake drums is 125 mm. Torque from the gearbox (main gear) is transmitted to the rear wheels via a chain. The engine starts using an electric or kick starter. A bright headlight illuminates the road well at night.

There are 3 forward and 1 reverse gears. The gearbox is located in the same unit with the power unit. The driver shifts gears with his foot, and the clutch control is located on the steering wheel. The clutch itself is multi-plate, placed in an oil bath, and the motor transmission is gear-type.

The three-wheeled moped is equipped with a metal dump truck body with a tailgate. The tailgate makes loading the tricycle easier, and the tipper body speeds up unloading. Thus, the process of unloading bulk cargo, for example, sand, peat, earth, sawdust, gravel, hauled garbage, etc., is simplified as much as possible.

ZiD 50-02 is adapted for Russian road conditions. Thanks to the durable steel frame, the loaded tricycle is stable while driving and can withstand loads well, and the spring-hydraulic shock absorbers smooth out uneven road surfaces well. All major controls are logically located on the steering wheel. The instrument panel consists of a speedometer, odometer and control sensors for important operating processes.

The ZiD cargo tricycle is a light and economical utilitarian transport with a dump truck body, which is primarily intended for purchase by residents of villages, small towns and urban settlements. Mokik does not take up much storage space and is easy to maintain. The low price makes the Russian moped the most profitable purchase in comparison with Chinese and other imported analogues.
