At one time, the Mazda CX 5 became a pioneer in the use of innovative technologies and systems developed specifically for it by Japanese engineers. A feature of the new automatic transmission is the torque converter locking in each gear. This solution saves fuel and ensures constant torque transmission.

Third, optimized chassis. To achieve excellent handling, the steering and suspension units received new mounting points, and the shape and weight of the levers were optimized.

The innovative designs of the Mazda CX 5 also resulted in some of the car’s problems:

This is done automatically and does not cause any inconvenience to the driver.

However, the Mazda CX 5 of the first releases had certain problems, thanks to the i-stop system, which quickly discharged the battery in urban conditions. The battery was not ready for increased loads. At the same time, the i-stop system stopped starting the engine when the battery voltage dropped.

Car enthusiasts fixed the problem in their own way, turning off i-stop with a button, but when restarted, the system automatically turned on again. Some did not fully press the brake pedal, trying to deceive the electronic assistant. At first, dealers replaced the battery with a larger capacity battery under warranty, and subsequently modified the control program. The minimum charge level for the i-stop system to operate has been reduced to 65%.

The childhood illnesses of the Mazda CX 5 do not end there. The main problem of the first generation of the model was poor noise insulation. Drivers noted increased noise in the cabin from the road, wheels, and transmission. At high speeds, it became necessary to raise our voices to hear each other.
