Ford Fusion reviews

With 1.4 manual transmission engine

  • Alexander, Peter. A good car for all occasions. Breakdowns are rare, I have them serviced by officials. Average consumption is 8-9 liters with a manual and 1.4-liter engine, the car consumes 7-9 liters in the city and on the highway.
  • Yulia, Nizhny Novgorod region. I like the car, I praise the Ford Fusion for its high ground clearance - this is an indispensable advantage for our roads. Consumption is 8 liters with a 1.4 engine.
  • Vasily, Arkhangelsk. My old Ford Fusion is still holding up well, with a 1.4 engine it consumes 7-9 liters of 92 gasoline.
  • Sergey, Vorkuta. Cool car, a kind of city hatchback with crossover capabilities. Average consumption is 8 liters. By the way, I have the option with a 1.4-liter engine and manual transmission. In the city you can achieve 8-9 liters, on the highway it’s 6-7 liters per hundred.
  • Vladislav, Novosibirsk. The car is satisfactory, now the mileage is 140 thousand km. The 1.4-liter engine can save fuel. In the city I almost always drive in third or fourth gear and maintain a stable speed. In this rhythm, 7-8 liters are obtained.
  • Ekaterina, Moscow region. I liked the car, it is equipped with a 1.4-liter internal combustion engine and a manual transmission. I drive fast, gasoline consumption at high speeds is about 9 liters.

With engine 1.4 automatic transmission

  • Marina, Krasnoyarsk. The car is from my husband, with a 1.4 liter engine and automatic transmission. Sluggish dynamics, brooding automatic, but ok for the city. And plus good handling and efficiency. In the urban cycle, fuel consumption reaches 10 liters, on the highway you can keep within 8 liters per hundred.
  • Vladislav, Perm region. Cool car, suitable for every day. I have a 1.4-liter version with automatic transmission and consumption of 9-10 liters of 95 gasoline.
  • Ekaterina, Belgorod. I liked the car; it’s an ideal option for the city and rural countryside. Robust chassis, solid body, practically does not rot. And I’ll also note the efficiency of the 1.4-liter. Despite the thoughtful automatic, in the city the engine consumes only 9 liters.
  • Alexey, Dnepropetrovsk. Ford Fusion is a car that gives pleasure every day and never gets boring. Consumes a maximum of 10 liters, I have a version with 1.4 and automatic transmission.
  • Olga, Peter. A compact urban crossover, it’s strange that they didn’t call it that at first. The car is economical in the city and on the highway, it consumes from 8 to 10 liters.
  • Igor, Kharkov. A reliable car, it handles well, brakes effectively and can save gas. The automatic transmission works smoothly, and perhaps thanks to it it is possible to keep within 9 liters per hundred.

With 1.6 manual transmission engine

  • Larisa, Moscow region. I have a used Ford Fusion and needed a compact city crossover for every day. The version with 1.6 and manual transmission turned out to be a suitable option. And it didn't cost much. Powerful engine, groovy dynamics and good handling, omnivorous suspension, a lot of advantages. Average consumption is 10 liters per hundred.
  • Vladimir, Novosibirsk. I liked the car, I drive it and have no complaints. The 1.6-liter volume is enough for everyday use, and this engine is no slouch on the highway either. You can accelerate to 180 km/h, this is not a problem. Consumes 9-10 liters/100 km.
  • Nikita, Dnepropetrovsk. I'm still happy with the car, it's an excellent car for both good and bad roads. Consumes 10 l/100 km, under the hood is a 1.6-liter engine with manual transmission.
  • Mikhail, Krasnoyarsk. All my friends like my Ford Fusion, I chose a suitable used car for myself. In good condition, 1.6-liter and front-wheel drive. Consumption 10 l.
  • Boris, Kyiv. The car is reliable, but does not evoke emotions. Equipped with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission, average consumption is 9-10 liters.
  • Alexander, Lipetsk. In my opinion, the 1.6-liter engine is enough for my Fusion. 100 horses pull with a bang even on the track, the traction reserve is excellent. The body is quite high and mediocre in terms of aerodynamics, but the car still goes fast, it's really cool. Consumption is 10 liters per hundred.

With engine 1.6 automatic transmission

  • Nikita, Tomsk. The car was produced in 2008, with a 1.6 engine and an automatic transmission. Top-end equipment, all options according to budget standards of that time. The Fusion is similar to a crossover, although it is positioned as a hatchback. A universal car – compact and with high ground clearance. Average consumption is 10 liters per hundred.
  • Oleg, Lipetsk. I have a 1.6-liter version with an automatic transmission. 100 horsepower drives my old Ford Fusion very well; the car is unusually light and nimble for such an engine. The automatic transmission is capable of unlocking the potential of the engine, and at the same time does not increase fuel consumption. The 1.6 engine consumes 10-11 liters.
  • Anton, Vladislav. Ford Fusion is an indispensable car for me for the city, it is very good for rough roads. Gasoline consumption is on average 10 liters, with fast driving it approaches 11 liters. But this is not bad, in a pinch you can install HBO or simply switch to manual mode and put it in fourth or fifth gear, and drive it constantly. In this case, the speed will be low and the consumption will be excellent.
  • Vladislav, Nizhny Novgorod region. I like the car, I use it every day, it doesn’t cause any breakdowns, it’s just a pleasure. The groovy 1.6-liter engine with automatic transmission consumes 11 liters per hundred.
  • Victor, Penza. I liked the car, a mixture of crossover and hatchback. In my opinion, this is the only car like this, I’ve never driven one, that’s why I bought it. If you have a 1.6-liter engine, you can fit 10 liters.
  • Georgy, Murmansk. A good hatchback, comfortable and just right for the city thanks to the fast automatic transmission. The 1.6-liter engine is generally satisfactory; it produces 100 horses. Consumes 10-11 liters of AI-95 gasoline.

Ford Fusion is a B-class car from the American concern Ford. It is presented on the Russian market as a five-door off-road hatchback. This modification was produced from 2002 to 2012. Place of production: Cologne, Germany. Fusion is supposed to be classified as a subcompact van, but due to its high ground clearance and short body overhangs, the model is positioned in some markets as a compact crossover with front-wheel drive. Ford Fusion at one time was considered one of the most popular Ford cars in Russia. Has the highest EuroNCAP safety rating.

Ford Fusion owner reviews

With engine 1.4 automatic transmission

  • Georgy, Orenburg. I've had Ford since 2015, and in two years I've added another 50 thousand km. As a result, the total mileage is currently 170 thousand km. The car is from 2003 and runs like a clock. The main thing is not to forget to service it on time and buy only original parts. Average consumption with engine and automatic transmission is 9 liters.
  • Alexander, Tambov. Ford Fusion is a solid city car that handles rough roads well, of which there are a dime a dozen in Russia. I have a 1.4-liter version with an automatic transmission, a decent option for every day. The 4-speed automatic transmission sets you up for a quiet ride. I will say more, the box turns off the engine and does not allow it to open. And besides, fuel consumption increases. In the city it reaches 9-10 liters, which is somehow unusual for such a displacement. Although, on the other hand, this modification of the Ford Fusion is very convenient in the bustle of the city, for example in traffic jams and parking lots.
  • Oleg, Bryansk. I'm happy with the car, the Ford Fusion never takes me on long journeys - unfortunately, work requires me to be away from my family for a long time. Although the machine is universal, it is also suitable for household needs. Practical, with an energy-intensive suspension, and also not bad to drive. Spare parts are inexpensive, simple design, you can service it yourself - the Internet can help. The version with the 1.4 engine and automatic transmission consumes up to 8-9 liters per 100 km
  • Dmitry, Ekaterinburg. Cool car. Ford Fusion does not evoke any emotions, it is just a car for business needs. There is nothing special about it, the automatic transmission and 1.4-liter engine work without problems. Consumption in the city is 9 l/100 km.
  • Alexey, Irkutsk. I bought a Ford Fuison on the secondary market, with a mileage of 109 thousand km. The car is worth the money, especially since I bought it for next to nothing. And in good condition, it only needed to straighten the body a little. The version with the 1.4 engine and automatic transmission consumes very little - only 9 liters.
  • Vasily, Petrozavodsk. I liked the Fusion, I praise it for its good review and omnivorous suspension. A car for the city that is needed consumes no more than 8-9 liters. Under the hood there is a 1.4 engine and automatic transmission.
  • Vladimir, Ryazan. I have a lot in common with this car. The Fusion was inherited from my father, so it can be said to be a hereditary car. With a 1.4 engine and an automatic transmission, it’s still running, although the mileage is under half a mile. I think it will reach 200 thousand without problems, given the robust and reliable design. In the city I get around 9 liters per 100 km.

With 1.4 manual transmission engine

  • Vladislav, Lipetsk. The car is comfortable, with good dynamics and acceleration potential, despite the modest 1.4-liter engine. In my opinion, the mechanics decide a lot here - the gearbox works smoothly, and there is no need to look for this or that gear. Average consumption is up to 8 liters per hundred.
  • Anatoly, Sverdlovsk. I liked the car, there is nothing superfluous in this Ford. The car is what you need, it steers and brakes well. Practical and spacious, everything fits. A 1.4-liter manual engine consumes 8 liters of 95 gasoline.
  • Alexey, Bryansk. Cool car, quite satisfied based on my needs. A real business executive. In addition, the Fusion is compact and quite fast in urban environments. The large ground clearance allows me to safely touch curbs and smooth over various obstacles in my path. A 1.4-liter engine with a manual transmission consumes 7-8 liters in the urban cycle, which is quite normal for this class. Ford does not evoke any emotions with its design, it is simply a car worthy of the attention of a Russian person, taking into account our climatic and road conditions.
  • Alexander, Bryansk. The car is worth the money, I praise it for its decent cross-country ability compared to its competitors - by the way, this is one of the decisive parameters by which I chose the car. Ford Fusion is definitely better than any VW Polo and Dacia Logan. Recognizable brand, reliability and good handling. The 1.4-liter engine, working with a manual gearbox, is kind of average in terms of dynamics. But in the city there is plenty of it. Fizhn's handling is at the level of a Ford Fiesta, I've driven such a car before. Only there is a little more roll in corners - probably due to the higher ground clearance. Otherwise everything is normal. Average consumption is 8 liters.
  • Pavel, Irkutsk. In my opinion, this is the best car for the money. I bought a Ford Fusion in 2007 to replace a Chevrolet Niva, which I was already tired of tinkering with in the garage. What was needed was a reliable and compact car, with good cross-country ability and handling. In my opinion, Fusion is a worthy replacement for Shniva. The car steers and brakes briskly, and with similar power it goes faster. With a 1.4 engine and manual transmission you can achieve 7-8 liters in the urban cycle.
  • Nikolay, Priozersk. I like the car, I use Fusion every day. A car specifically tailored to my needs - with an impenetrable suspension, a spacious trunk and a roomy interior. With a 1.4 engine and manual transmission I fit in 8 liters.
  • Svetlana, Novosibirsk. I'm happy with the car, I've already driven 120 thousand km in this Ford. No serious damage, the car is serviced by dealers. Average consumption in the city reaches 8 liters per hundred.

With engine 1.6 Automatic

  • Oleg, St. Petersburg. Cool car, I have the most powerful 100-horsepower version. The car is very dynamic, and at the same time pampers with comfort and silence in the cabin - the family is happy. My wife and I chose it, and special seats were immediately installed for our two children. We have a version with an automatic transmission, it consumes between 10-11 liters in the urban cycle. On the highway we fit in 8 liters. Acceleration to hundreds in 12 seconds, which is quite good for such an old car. By the way, the Fusion has driven 97 thousand km, or there will be more.
  • Ekaterina, Perm region. I'm happy with the car, the best option for my needs. I use Ford mainly in urban areas, and sometimes I go to the country with my children. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine and automatic transmission, and consumes an average of 9-10 liters per 100 km.
  • Karina, Sochi. A decent car for the city, if you don’t get too picky. The car is from my husband, now he drives a Korova. Fusion is equipped with a 1.6-liter internal combustion engine and an automatic transmission. The thoughtful box allows you to fit in 10-11 liters, I fill it with 95-grade gasoline.
  • Nikolay, Stavropol region. Ford Fusion is a reliable car; it has already driven 180 thousand km since 2002. Used in taxis, serviced in a garage. I know the car like the back of my hand, so I don’t need a dealership. Average consumption 10 l/100 km.
  • David, Volgograd. A cool car for every day, with smooth acceleration and good handling. Fusion is definitely better than Dacia Logan, which I had as my first foreign car. Ford is a more serious car, with better cross-country ability and comfort. It is more reliable and equipped with an automatic transmission. Consumes 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Yuri, Moscow region. Ford Fusion 2008, equipped with a 1.6-liter engine and automatic transmission. Active acceleration, transmission works smoothly and without any delays. Although we must admit that the box has already outlived its usefulness and only gets in the way. For example, because of it, gasoline consumption per 100 km is high - even in the city it turns out to be at least 10-11 liters.
  • Vladislav, Novosibirsk. An excellent car for our conditions, I have a 1.6-liter version with an automatic transmission. Accelerates smoothly and brakes effectively. Despite the thoughtful box, the accelerating dynamics are felt, albeit with slight jerks when switching. The average consumption is 10 liters. Ford Fusion is surprisingly well adapted to Siberian climatic conditions.

With engine 1.6 Manual

  • Igor, Rostov region. I have owned a Ford Fusion for more than five years, during which time the car has never let me down on the road. I am a traveler, I have already traveled half of Russia. The car was produced in 2003, bought in good condition with a mileage of 50 thousand km. Ford is an excellent workhorse, rides smoothly, brakes well and accelerates actively. The hatchback handles confidently in city traffic; you don’t even have to press the accelerator hard. The dynamics are decent, there are 100 horsepower under the hood. Average consumption is within 9-10 liters.
  • Anton, Sverdlovsk. A car for all occasions, it makes me, my wife and children happy. It is comfortable, you can hardly hear the engine in the cabin. As far as I know, the Fusion is based on the Ford Fiesta, and this may explain the hatchback's good handling. My version in the city consumes up to 10 liters, I fill it with 95 gasoline.
  • Nikolay, Ryazan. I liked the car, it's worth the money spent. I bought it in 2005 and still use it today. The version with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission consumes only 9-10 liters in the city.
  • Sergey, Taganrog. Fusion pleasantly impressed me from the first days of the trip. After my VAZ penny, Ford became a real holiday for me. I drive comfortably and have no problems. The car is still running, equipped with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission. Consumption in the city is 10 liters.
  • Lyudmila, Stavropol region. Ford Fusion is the car for my needs, I am very pleased with it. After 70 thousand km without a single breakdown, the car is serviced by dealers. I hope that the car will not continue to annoy me on a long journey, and will please me only with comfort. The version with a 1.6-liter engine consumes 10 liters.
  • Alexander, Tyumen. Fusion is the car we need for our broken roads. Dynamics are not important to me, so I decided to install the highest profile tires to make it very soft. Yes, roll has increased, handling has worsened, and even acceleration has worsened. But now Fusion doesn’t move, but seems to float like a barge. With a 1.6-liter engine it eats no more than 10-11 liters.
  • Alexey, Tomsk. I am happy with the car, the car is used in the family and at work. I would like to note the excellent geometric cross-country ability of the Ford Fusion - this is largely due to its high ground clearance. In addition, Ford has good visibility and a smooth ride; the car seems to be designed for bad roads. I have the top-end configuration with a capacity of 100 horsepower, the interior has all the options of that time. True, the only thing missing is a machine gun. But judging by the reviews, it’s even good that I refused the version with automatic transmission. Fusion with mechanics is faster and more economical, consumes an average of 8-9 liters.

Ford Fusion is a small five-door hatchback, which was assembled on the same platform as the Fiesta. Production began in 2002 and the car immediately took a leading position in sales, as it was cheap, had increased safety and a spacious interior. In 2005, the model was restyled, and in 2012, Ford Fusion ceased to exist.

1st generation

Initially, the model was equipped with only two gasoline and one diesel engines. The 1.4 liter version fell into both of these categories. In the first case, the engine produced 80 horsepower, and in the second it had 68 horsepower. Both configurations were controlled by either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic transmission. Gasoline consumption was 6.6 liters. Diesel was consumed in the amount of 4.5 liters. Another gasoline unit was a 1.6-liter engine. Its peak power was 101 horsepower. This version was also driven by both versions of gearboxes. Fuel consumption per 100 km was only 6.8 liters.

Restyling

After restyling in 2005, the model also received several new engine options. The new gasoline unit is 1.2 liters, capable of developing 75 horsepower. It is paired only with a manual transmission, but has a fairly high consumption for its volume - 6.6 liters. A new diesel engine has also appeared, the volume of which is 1.6 liters. Here the maximum power is already 90 horsepower. It also comes only with a manual transmission. Its consumption is 4.7 liters.

Owner reviews

“I bought this car because it fit all my requirements perfectly. It has small dimensions, making it very convenient to use in the city. Outwardly he is quite handsome. The interior is spacious and well made and decorated. You can find a bunch of different functions on the dashboard. Well, the most important thing is the cost. For this price you won't find anything better. But the model also has disadvantages. Firstly, this is the motor. It is very weak for its size. Acceleration takes a very long time, it is generally impossible to drive on the highway. It is better not to drive off a flat road, as you can get stuck even in a medium-sized puddle. Well, secondly, this is an indicator of consumption. When a 1.2-liter engine consumes up to 12 liters of fuel, it’s already too much,” writes Alexander from Moscow.

“I bought the car in 2008. I only use it in the city; my wife doesn’t go anywhere far either. The car itself is pretty good. Definitely worth the money. There are many different functions that greatly simplify driving and also make it as comfortable as possible. There is a lot of free space in the cabin, which, unfortunately, we have nowhere to use. In the future, when we have children, we will go somewhere out of town and take a bunch of different travel equipment. Now there is only one minus in the car for me - the engine. It is too weak, but it eats a lot of fuel. I spend up to 15 liters in the city. My wife is a little less – 13, but it’s still a lot. Moreover, we only fill 95, which is quite expensive,” reports Ruslan from St. Petersburg.

“I use this car for business trips. I calmly put all the necessary things into the bottomless trunk and go anywhere in Russia. Fortunately, the interior is designed in such a way that the driver does not get tired even on the longest trips. Various functions allow you to relax as much as possible on the road and enjoy the ride. The engine, although not the strongest, is quite enough to slowly move along a flat road at a speed of under 120. So I am satisfied with the consumption, which does not exceed 6 liters. In the city, of course, it is more, about 12, but, as I understand from the reviews, I am lucky, because for many it reaches 15 liters,” this is a review from Maxim from Kazan.

“I spent a long time choosing which box to get this model with. My wife insisted on an automatic so that it would be easy for her to drive, but I was not very happy with the prospect of spending an average of 2 liters of fuel more. In the end, we chose mechanics. We really like the car. Very often we drive it to visit relatives in another city. It is difficult to find something better for such moves. The salon is spacious and very comfortable. The assembly is also of high quality. You can see what they did for the people. But, in my opinion, they could have stuck the motor in stronger. The car clearly does not have enough power, especially to overcome various off-road obstacles. And the consumption is high even with a manual – as much as 12 liters in the city and 7 on the highway,” these are the words of Pavel from Penza.

“I got the car from my father after he bought himself another car. I didn't particularly like this model, but it's better than walking. Yes, it has an excellent interior, nice design, but the slow acceleration annoys me. I would like to light it from traffic lights, but it’s not fate yet. You have to drive quietly and carefully, but even so the car consumes a huge amount of fuel. With my driving, I spend 13 liters in the city and 6 on the highway. In winter, these figures are slightly higher,” writes Artem from Kaliningrad.

“I bought the car from the dealership in 2010. I chose the version with the largest and most powerful engine, because I wanted to move quickly along the highway, since I often have to go to the village to visit my relatives. As it turned out, such a motor was chosen in vain, because in terms of power it does not differ even from some Priora, and it consumes much more fuel. Yes, the car is good externally and internally, but the engine spoils the whole impression. By the way, I spend up to 15 liters of gasoline,” wrote Dmitry from Khabarovsk.
