Especially for fans of automotive technology.

When it comes to the largest vehicles that can travel on public roads, the imagination involuntarily draws. But for many it will be a real discovery that motorcycles that are real giants can compete for this title.

Tank cycle

Among the largest motorcycles that move under their own power, a giant heavyweight has appeared, with a total weight of 4740 kg. This miracle of technology was seen by millions of motorcycle enthusiasts, and all thanks to the colossal efforts of the team from the Bike Shmiede club. These guys, living in East Germany, in the village of Zilla, spent a lot of time hand-assembling this metal giant. Their actions were directed by Thilo Niebel. As soon as all the work was completed, Guinness representatives began to study the characteristics of the unusual tank bike, which has a five-meter base and almost a ton of weight per meter. In addition to its threatening appearance, the two-wheeled vehicle received an unusual engine taken from the T-55 tank. The “heart” of the German motorcycle is capable of producing from 620 to 800 hp. With. and without much difficulty move the colossus assembled from old Soviet cars. The story of where the German guys got the engine from the Soviet tank is shrouded in mystery to this day. We managed to find out only the year of manufacture - 1986.

This model has an impressively sized steering wheel. The two-meter control levers are difficult for an untrained person to handle. To fit into a turn, you need not only dexterity, but also good physical preparation. A passenger who also has a steering wheel can help in driving a large motorcycle. The passenger will be able to steer the wheel attached to the cradle.

The PanzerBike is a clear contender for the title of one of the heaviest bikes, but to claim that it is the largest motorcycle in the world is incorrect. Its general parameters are impressive, its appearance delights, and its name only enhances the emotions of what it sees. But there are specimens that are superior to their German counterpart.

Monster Motorbike from Hell

Despite the name of the motorcycle (“Monster Bike from Hell”), its creator never ceases to insist that this miracle of technology is the safest among its two-wheeled counterparts. The motorcycle with large wheels, which were borrowed from an American mining dump truck, amazes with its characteristics. The wheel, 3 meters high and 9 meters long, exceeded the weight of 13 tons! With such dimensions, you can easily crush a passenger car, which, in fact, is what this colossus does when performing at various exhibition shows.

Ray Bauman, a lifelong Perth resident and professional stuntman, put his heart and soul into the incredibly large motorcycle. According to the master himself, it took him three years to create the unique technique.

A truck engine from the Detroit Diesel corporation, paired with a six-speed transmission, is capable of making this monster go.

As Ray said, during the work on “Monster” many difficulties arose; it was necessary to restore health, which was undermined after two fractures of the spine.

Dream Big

This bike was born thanks to Greg Dunham. The Californian spent three years to create a brainchild that was included in the Guinness Book of Records. The length of the device was 6.2 m, and the height was 3.4 m - impressive, isn’t it? Despite its enormous size and weight of 3 tons, the motorcycle is capable of traveling at a speed of 100 km/h. with a volume of 8.2 liters it is capable of delivering up to 500 liters. s.. The gearbox has only three speeds, one of which is reverse. But this is quite enough to set Dream Big in motion. The work on creating this unique motorcycle not only took a huge amount of time and effort, but also emptied Greg's wallet to the tune of about $300,000.

Regio Design XXL Chopper

The creation of the famous Italian master was shown to the general public in 2012 at one of the exhibitions. The huge chopper, made with taste and skill, was officially recognized by Guinness representatives and received a certificate indicating that it is the largest motorcycle in the world capable of moving independently. It was possible to register a new record only after the bike covered 150 meters out of the required 100.

It took about seven months to create this monster, using a team of eight professionals. The result was a bike with a length of 9.75 m and a height of 4.9 m. The total weight of the unique motorcycle was 5.5 tons. The Italian giant received a gasoline heart with a volume of 5.7 liters and a maximum power of 280 hp. With. The Chevrolet engine is paired with a three-speed gearbox that was removed from the old Buick.

Change of leader

Naturally, riding such a huge motorcycle is quite difficult. The creators were forced to equip their creation with additional wheels that hold the device and prevent it from falling on its side. Having become a record holder, the unit, called Regio Design XXL Chopper, took the place of Dream Big.
