You can get acquainted with the appearance and interior design of the 2nd generation Fiat Dobla thanks to the photo and video materials posted in the review.

More reviews of new minivans:

  • We begin our acquaintance with the new Fiat Doblo 2012-2013 by indicating the external overall dimensions of the car: 4390 mm long, 1832 mm wide, 1845 mm high (1895 mm with roof rails), 2755 mm wheelbase, 1510 mm front wheel track , 1530 mm rear wheel track.
  • With standard installed tires 195/60 R16 on steel wheels of 16 radius, the ground clearance (clearance) of the minivan when not loaded is 180 mm.
  • The body colors of the new Fiat Doblo can be ordered by choosing from three non-metallic colors - Ambient White (white), Breakcore Red (red), Line Blue (blue) or eight metallic enamels - Indie Ivory (ivory), Minimal Gray (light gray) , Chemical Gray (dark grey), Hilibilly Azzur (cerulean blue), Flamenco Red (red), Neoclassical Bordeaux (burgundy), Cool Jazz Blue (blue) and Rocka billy Black (black).

Italian designers have awarded the large family car with a bright, distinctive appearance. Against the background of the mediocre appearance of the previous generation of the model and the traditional exterior design of its main competitors in the face of, and, the new Fiat Dobla looks like a real respectable gentleman.

A huge vertical plane of the front part of the body with large drops of headlights, a high trapezoidal false radiator grille, which is embraced by a monolithic bumper body, complemented not only by foglights, but also by a stylish and functional aerodynamic skirt at the bottom.

The body profile, despite its box-shaped shape, also looks original and bright: the broken, ascending window sill line gives the utilitarian “heel” a dynamic look, large stampings stylishly expand the wheel arches and the lower part of the car doors. The huge size of the minivan is revealed by 16-inch wheels, which simply get lost against the background of the car’s large body. The flat roof line is adjacent to the vertical surface of the rear body at right angles.

The rear of the Italian car has a gigantic single-leaf door that goes up and provides ideal access to the trunk. The stylistic design of the tailgate is with a large area of glass, continuing with an insert of black glossy plastic, an original solution that gives the rear an airy and light look. High vertical sections of side lights located on the body pillars and a compact bumper emphasize the neat style of the Italian minivan.

The new Fiat Doblo will not get lost in traffic or in the parking lot, but the most important thing is hidden inside the car and hidden from prying eyes; it is a huge and functional interior.

When choosing a family minivan, a potential owner is primarily interested in the size of the car’s interior and trunk, the possibility of installing additional seats to carry a couple more passengers, the presence of compartments for storing small luggage, and the ease of transforming the interior and loading luggage.

Only after making sure that these bonuses are available does the car owner consider the offered engines and the level of content of the equipment with features responsible for comfort. The new Fiat Doblo 2013 with space for five passengers and a trunk is in perfect order. We didn’t make a reservation, exactly 5!!! people, including the driver. You can order two additional seats as an option, but... adult passengers will not be able to sit comfortably on such chairs.

There is plenty of free space above your head and in width, but your knees rest against the backs of the second row seats and the seats themselves are terribly uncomfortable. So you can seat children of primary school age in the third row.

The trunk of the Italian minivan Fiat Doblo is like the bottomless hold of a ship: width - 1200 mm, height to the ceiling - 1150 mm, height to the glass level - 600 mm, length to the backs of the second row seats 900 mm, when folding the seats the length of the compartment increases to 1650 mm. Even with five crew members, the trunk volume is 790 liters; by folding the second row, we can load 3,200 liters of cargo. The load capacity is really not great, only 500 kg.

For the driver and his four companions, there is a huge amount of free space in the cabin, especially overhead. The front seats may seem flat, but the seating position is deep and comfortable. The long cushion and subtle side support bolsters optimally support the hips and back of the driver and front passenger. The seats are installed high, the visibility from the driver's seat is excellent. The front panel and center console do not shine with sophistication; everything is simple, but functional and convenient. The steering wheel is comfortable with tides for the right grip and can be adjusted in height and depth, the ordinary dashboard is complemented by a compact trip computer screen, a modest radio (radio CD 4 speakers) on top of the dashboard, an air conditioning control unit, a gear knob on the ledge of the center console in a convenient place , what is called at hand. The dashboard is complemented by a mass of open shelves; under the ceiling above the heads of the driver and passenger there is a large and convenient shelf, traditional for minivans.

Expensive European versions of Fiat Doblo are equipped with richer versions than those supplied to Ukraine, they have climate control with air ducts for second-row passengers, cruise control, parking sensors, Blue&M touch screen (navigator, phone control), advanced audio system with voice control (CD MP3 Bluetooth USB ).

Passengers in the second row are provided with a comfortable sofa, plenty of space in all directions, those sitting in the back do not crowd each other, their knees do not reach the backs of the front seats, and there is 30 centimeters of free space above their heads. It is not clear why the split seat back is not able to change the angle of inclination, and the sofa itself is unable to move along the interior. Sliding doors provide ease of entry for rear passengers; when opened, they form a large rectangular opening.

The quality of materials (soft plastic, fabric, carpet) used for interior decoration, and the level of assembly of interior elements, makes a pleasant impression.

Specifications The new generation Fiat Doblo 2013 is also distinguished by the use of solutions that are unconventional for most of its classmates. First of all, this concerns the independent suspension, with MacPherson struts at the front, but a double-wishbone design (Dual-Link) at the rear. The fully independent suspension has a positive effect on handling and comfort; the high energy intensity of the suspension elements allows you to confidently move on rough and even dirt roads. The chassis painlessly digests medium and large potholes, transmitting only dull pokes into the cabin. The power steering is hydraulic, the brakes are disc at the front and drum at the rear. ABS with EBD and ESP with Hill Start Assist are responsible for the safety of the driver and passengers.
Four engines are offered for the new Italian minivan produced in Turkey (Bursa), all four-cylinder: one petrol and three diesel.

  • The petrol Fiat Doblo 1.4 liter (95 hp) paired with a 5 manual transmission accelerates a car weighing from 1340 kg to 100 mph in a long 15.4 seconds, with a top speed of about 160 mph.

Fuel consumption according to the manufacturer ranges from 5.9 liters on the highway to 9.3 liters in the city, with average fuel consumption at 7.2 liters. Reviews from owners suggest that in real operating conditions, fuel consumption varies from 8 to 11 liters, depending on the degree of vehicle load.
Diesel engines:

  • Diesel Fiat Doblo 1.3 liter Multijet II (90 hp) with 5 manual transmission, acceleration to hundreds in 15 seconds and a top speed of 156 mph. The rated fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 4.9 liters.
  • A 1.6 liter Multijet (105 hp) paired with a 6-speed manual transmission is capable of accelerating a car weighing from 1410 kg to the first hundred in 13.4 seconds and reaching a maximum of 164 mph. The declared fuel consumption in the combined cycle is about 5.2 liters.
  • A 2.0 liter Multijet (135 hp) in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission provides a minivan weighing from 1450 kg with dynamics to 100 mph in 11.3 seconds and a top speed of about 180 mph. Diesel fuel consumption averages 5.7 liters.

Diesel engines are equipped with a start-stop system, which allows for such low fuel consumption.

Test Drive Fiat Dobla 2013: the new generation of cars will cope well with broken domestic roads thanks to a comfortable and soft suspension, but you shouldn’t even think about aggressive driving with fast starts and high-speed cornering behind the wheel of a large minivan. The dynamics are sluggish, the car rolls noticeably when cornering, the optimal speed on the highway is 100-110 mph. The owner needs to be especially vigilant in strong side winds and when driving around with trucks (the Fiat Doblo has a large body windage). The car is designed for smooth movement and comfortable movement of a large family with all their belongings.

How much does it cost to buy: the price of the new Fiat Doblo 2nd generation 2013 in Ukraine starts from 144,900 UAH. (about 580 thousand rubles) for a minivan with a 95 horsepower gasoline engine. The 7-seater version can be purchased for a minimum cost of 149,500 UAH. (about 600 thousand rubles).

Spaces for those who travel and like to be in company.
The minivan premiered in the fall of 2000 at the Paris Motor Show. The second generation of the model already exists. The car was presented in mid-November 2009. Official sales on the Russian market started in 2006. The price for purchasing a new Fiat Doblo is from 547 to 621 thousand rubles.
This is a completely new car. Very rational, incredibly flexible in operation. On the one hand, it is a minivan, on the other, a commercial van.

The developers of the Doblo model have met the most demanding requirements for functionality and comfort. To achieve this, the interior space of the car is used in the most rational way possible. It can accommodate up to seven people. This is a real “family” space, which provides a high level of safety, efficiency and environmental friendliness.

A distinctive feature of the body is the presence of two rear sliding doors. Even in the 5-seater version, the useful volume of the cargo compartment of the car is an impressive 0.75 m3, and with the rear seats folded it reaches 3.0 m3.
Power units include two gasoline engines and two diesel engines with manual transmissions. Petrol 1.2- and 1.6-liter “fours” develop 65 and 103 hp, and the 1.9-liter diesel engine comes in two versions. The regular version of the pre-chamber engine develops 63 hp, and the turbocharged version with direct injection of the JTD type develops 101 hp.

Thanks to the convenient ceiling lighting system, easy access to things in the luggage compartment is provided at any time of the day.

Fiat Doblo is a multifunctional 5- or 7-seater M class van, which is suitable for transporting goods for commercial purposes and for large families. Production of the model began in 2000 and continues to this day. The machine was assembled in Turkey, Vietnam, Brazil and Russia.

Fiat Doblo is not very common on the Russian market. The car is offered to domestic consumers in two variations: the Panorama minivan and the Cargo cargo version. The model is distinguished by flexibility in operation and rationality of all elements, which is especially valued in the commercial segment.

Model history and purpose

The premiere of the first generation Fiat Doblo took place in 2000. The car immediately received passenger and cargo modifications and several engine options (petrol, diesel, gas). The appearance of the first generation cannot be called flashy. The ancestors of the car were Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner. It was after their appearance in the early 1990s that interest in cars of this class began to grow among commercial clients and ordinary citizens. Fiat Doblo appeared quite late, but this had a tangible advantage. Italian developers could study the advantages and disadvantages of competitors, making their model cheaper and of higher quality.

The first generation Fiat Doblo did not last long. In the spring of 2004, the car underwent restyling. Moreover, the modernized version received new engines, exterior and modifications. It retains the best features of the debut version: easy access to the interior, a large trunk size and the ability to carry significant weight. At the same time, the appearance of the restyled model has become more harmonious. The design of the front area of the body has noticeably changed, the rear and front headlight units have been replaced. The work of Italian designers was also noticed on the world market. In 2005, Fiat Doblo received an award at the RAI 2005 commercial vehicles exhibition. The competition jury noted not only the interesting appearance of the car, but also its great functionality.

The main production of the restyled Fiat Doblo was located in Turkey, but assembly was also carried out in Vietnam, Brazil and Russia (at facilities in Naberezhnye Chelny). Since 2011, the production of domestic Fiat Doblos has been discontinued, and Turkish-made cars are supplied to Russia. It is noteworthy that until 2016, only restyled cars with a 1.4-liter unit (77 hp) and a manual transmission were sold on the domestic market, although by that time the Italian brand had already introduced the new generation Fiat Doblo.

The premiere of the second generation of the model took place in 2009. The car is based on the new Fiat Small Wide platform. The car was offered in 4 versions: a small truck, a passenger minivan, a cargo van and a cargo-passenger “combi” version. The Fiat Doblo has received a completely new design, which makes it more individual. Among other representatives of the M segment, the “Italian” immediately stands out. A powerful front end with a large V-shaped radiator grille in the shape of a honeycomb, voluminous headlights and niches for fog lights make it very brutal. The rear is also full of innovative features: a redesigned bumper with wide side stripes and 2-tone headlight lenses.

At the same time, Fiat Doblo II has unique functionality. The car can fit up to 7 seats, and the trunk volume can reach 790 liters (with folded seats - up to 3000 liters), which is the maximum in this segment. The developers did not forget about security. Fiat Doblo has excellent handling (due to the Bi-link suspension) and already has ABS and ESP as standard.

In 2015, the car underwent restyling. The main changes affected the exterior, which became more modern. The model is assembled at the Turkish Tofas plant, where special attention is paid to build quality.

Fiat Doblo is very versatile. The model is perfect for the role of a cozy and reliable family car. It will be no less effective in commerce due to its spaciousness and excellent functional qualities. The main area of application of the machine is transportation over short and medium distances.

Engine

Fiat Doblo is equipped with 4 types of power plants: a 95-horsepower gasoline unit or Multijet turbodiesels with a capacity of 90, 105 and 135 hp.

Diesel units are highly reliable and have worldwide recognition. In 2005, Multijet engines received the title “Engine of the Year”. The design of the installation includes technology patented by the Italian brand (high-pressure multi-phase injection). Due to this, the level of vibration and noise during fuel combustion is reduced. It also reduces harmful emissions and improves overall performance. The number of injection stages is adjusted based on the pressure and temperature inside the combustion chamber and the nature of the unit’s operation (cold start, warm engine, intensive acceleration). This ensures economical operation of the system. Another advantage of Multijet units is their compact size and low weight. All engines comply with Euro-4 standards.

Characteristics of the basic Multijet unit:

  • type – turbodiesel with intermediate air cooling with variable or constant charge geometry;
  • working volume – 1.4 l;
  • rated power - 90 hp;

  • number of cylinders – 4 (in-line arrangement);
  • cylinder diameter – 72 mm;
  • compression ratio – 11.

Video reviews of Fiat Doblo

Device

Fiat Doblo is made according to the classic design for the Italian brand. At the front there is a monocoque body with a subframe, MacPherson struts, lower wishbones, shock absorber struts, and a stabilizer bar. All loads on the body are transmitted through 3 separate points. The rear suspension of the latest version of the Fiat Doblo has undergone changes. Instead of the previous dependent beam, a 2-link suspension was installed. The innovation improved the smoothness of the car.

The brake system was selected with an eye to the best quality/price combination. Ventilated disc brakes are installed at the front, drum brakes at the rear. The picture is completed by a classic mechanical handbrake and the presence of two safety systems as standard: ABS and ESP.

Fiat Doblo is offered in front-wheel drive. On the Russian market there are only versions with a 5-speed manual transmission. In the latest generation of the car, the transmission received significant changes that improved response time.

Fiat Doblo is one of the leaders in the segment in terms of functionality and spaciousness. The car's interior is impressive with the amount of space for luggage and passengers. At the same time, the interior looks very original. The front panel, available in 2 colors (dark gray and light), has many compartments that allow you to store various items. The trunk of the car is gigantic, and the seats are comfortable and pleasant to the touch. The upholstery of the door panels almost completely covers the metal surfaces. The Fiat Doblo has a lot of large windows, and the sliding side doors are great for getting in (out) in tight spaces.

The car also has disadvantages:

  1. The electrical and ignition system often fails.
  2. The Fiat Doblo's suspension is quite strong. However, it does not always cope with Russian roads. Knocked out ball joints and broken struts are expensive. It is especially not recommended to overload the car, since in this case the likelihood of breakdown increases sharply.
  3. In the rear, leaf springs are used to withstand significant loads. But if the weight is constantly exceeded, they wear out quickly. The average replacement cost here is about 6,000 rubles per nib.
  4. Quite often problems arise with sliding side doors due to wear and tear on the mechanism.
  5. Corrosion of the exhaust system often occurs, and in later versions, rust also extends to the body.
  6. Despite the good interior appearance, the plastics inside the car are hard and cheap. Creaking and crackling noises constantly accompany the driver during the trip.

Despite a number of shortcomings, Fiat Doblo is considered one of the most reliable cars in its class.
