In addition, the updated Captiva is equipped with ABS with electronic brake force distribution EBV, dynamic stability control ESC, HBA hydraulic brake booster, DCS hill descent control and ARP active rollover protection. The standard equipment includes six airbags - two front and two side, designed to protect the driver and front passenger - and in addition - two curtain airbags to protect against side impact and passengers in the second row of seats. The restyling of the Chevrolet Captiva is intended to return the model's position in the urban SUV segment in Russia. Not to say that there was no demand for Captiva, the model has always enjoyed a stable, but not overwhelming demand. In addition to its impressive size, the car now boasts a new false radiator grille, with a large horizontal bar that divides it into two parts. The new "face" carries the "corporate" design of the brand, without distinguishing it from other Chevrolet models.

Salon Captiva has always been famous for its interior space, therefore, by and large, the designers did not change or alter something, focusing on enhancing the sound insulation of the cabin. For this purpose, a new windshield appeared, a more durable soundproof headliner appeared, the door seals were changed, and more powerful wheel arches appeared in the fender niches.

Apparently, when preparing the car, all the miscalculations and shortcomings of the previous version were taken into account. And it seems that this is really so, because the car received not only new noise insulation, but also the chassis of the car was reconfigured in the most serious way: the stiffness of the springs was increased, the shock absorber struts were reconfigured for a more rigid mode of operation, and the anti-roll bars became more powerful. The choice of power units has also been expanded: if earlier the Russian car enthusiast felt deprived of the opportunity to choose a diesel engine, now he is offered a choice of a three-liter V-shaped six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 249 horsepower, a turbocharged diesel engine with a working volume of 2.2 liters and with a capacity of 184 horsepower and the already familiar gasoline engine with a working volume of 2.4 liters with an increased power of up to 167 hp. Changes also affected the transmission: both automatic and manual gearboxes received six steps.

The changes made were beneficial to the car: when driving, you can not hear aerodynamic noise, thanks to the enhanced sound insulation of the cabin, and the car does not notice pits and all kinds of irregularities, "swallowing" them due to its energy-intensive suspension. The car goes through turns more confidently, which is expressed in the absence of rolls when passing at high speed. The new high-torque turbodiesel "takes out" the car from the very "bottom". The speed characteristics are impressive: the car accelerates to "hundreds" in 9.6 seconds, and the maximum speed of the turbodiesel Captiva is 200 km / h.

There are also nice little things like an electromechanical parking brake, which allows you to lock the wheels of the car at the touch of a button, a wireless connection via Bluetooth, as well as a downhill assist system, when the electronics prevents spontaneous "rolling" of the wheels.

Equipped with a diesel version of the Chevrolet Captiva is quite worthy. In addition to various options such as full power accessories, leather trim for the steering wheel, all kinds of factory tinting, parking sensors and roof rails, frontal, side and ceiling airbags (only six pieces), a system of course stabilization, climate control system and cruise control, fog lights.
