Handling and agility, especially in tight conditions, are simply magical, despite rear-wheel drive in difficult road conditions instills more confidence than many front-wheel drive competitors in this class.

I really like the design of modern “tseshki”; they are like a classic suit that will never go out of style. And everything is great inside. Beige leather, natural wood - stylish, but without unnecessary pathos. Mercedes knows a lot about this. In terms of equipment, everything is very good, 2.1 million were not given in vain. I really like multimedia with a touchpad, I haven’t used such a feature before, but it turned out to be convenient. The menu is clear, the resolution is at the level.
The C 250 drives even better than the 211 “horses”; there is enough power reserve everywhere. The operating modes of the engine and chassis can be changed, and you can really feel it. At “comfort” the car becomes soft and slight rolls appear. In sport modes it's great to take corners. The computer makes sure that I don’t ram anyone. He saved me once when I didn’t react to a ride in the city. The car slowed down on its own, and only then did I understand what had happened... or rather, what hadn’t happened.
There are few fly in the ointment in this barrel of ointment yet, I haven’t even driven tens of thousands yet. In winter, the keyless entry was slow and did not unlock the door the first time. True, this only happened a couple of times, and with the onset of warmer weather the problem went away; the service did not find any damage. The rear view mirrors are too small, it’s good that there is a camera in stock. I don’t like the standard runflat tires, they are noisy and oaky, I will change them. Overall, I’m happy with the car; it’s nice when a dream turns out exactly as expected.

The downside of the “Special Series” is a modest and not optimal set of options, although the necessary living wage is present: dual-zone climate control, full power accessories, heated front seats, parking sensors front and rear. I quickly got used to the automatic transmission selector located on the steering column. The screen of the multimedia system looks like an alien element of the interior, but we must admit that it is very convenient to use.
At the same time, in this configuration you cannot even order heated steering wheel and windshield as an option. Even the budget Hyundai Solaris is better equipped, not to mention business class cars.
It is clear that a lot has been saved here. For example, the driver’s seat has longitudinal adjustment mechanically, and up and down adjustment – electrically. Passengers in the back row are not spoiled for comfort; there is not even a center armrest, not to mention any adjustments or heating.
But the C-Class drives, as befits a thoroughbred Mercedes-Benz. Even despite the modest 2-liter engine and all-wheel drive, the dynamics are not bad. The suspension is a little harsh, but the handling is very good.
Noise insulation is average, you can hear noise from the tires and from the engine when it operates at high speeds. It is felt that when designing the car they struggled with weight; the car weighs only 1.5 tons, so the dynamics are not bad even with weak engines, and fuel consumption is moderate.
On the highway 8-9 liters, in the city about 11 per 100 km. But in pursuit of weight loss, in addition to equipment, they saved a lot here. This car does not have a spare wheel, there is not even provision for re-rolling, and the fuel tank is very small, its volume is only 41 liters.

Of course, it could not be done without many of the most modern safety systems and various electronic assistants, including adaptive cruise control, which automatically keeps the car in the desired lane, a frontal collision avoidance system that operates at speeds of up to 200 km/h, all-round visibility functions, automatic parking, and much more. The updated version has a semi-automatic pilot.
Back in mid-April 2013, spy photos of the new Mercedes C-Class 2018 appeared online, captured during tests in Scandinavia without camouflage, and later Diariomotor published the first pictures of the model, so the appearance of the company’s new product could not be kept secret. The car received a significantly modified design with a sloping roof in the LA style, head optics like the updated E-Class W212, as well as rear lights reminiscent of those on the S-Class W222.
In October, the manufacturer distributed official photos of the interior of the C-Class W205, which in design resembles the younger models. The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class boasts an impressive range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline engines with power from 184 to 335 hp, as well as an upgraded 2.1-liter diesel engine and an initial 180-horsepower unit from Renault. Later, a hybrid modification and a “charged” version appeared. The basic gearbox remained a 7-speed automatic, but some modifications received a 9-speed 9G-Tronic gearbox.
At first, European buyers were offered the C 180 sedan (specifications) with the familiar 150-horsepower 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine, as well as a more powerful modification of the C 200 with a two-liter turbocharged unit with output of 184 hp, as well as the diesel C 220 CDI producing 170 horsepower. Externally, this is a relatively simple car, if you compare it again with the BMW 330i (although how can you compare, for example, a formal business suit and a tracksuit). Many motorists complain that you can’t really relax in this BMW, but in the rather simple Mercedes W204 sedan you can relax both body and soul, because the ride in it is very comfortable. And if you also take into account that the car is half the price of a BMW, then the owner’s joy knows no bounds.
Review of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205
As for the new car of this class, the W205 series, in this case the manufacturer has slightly reduced its dimensions. Of course, the brand did not stray from the style of the flagship S-Class. It should be noted that the image of the sedan is more balanced, and the corner lights look much better.

You still can’t count on the softness and comfort of the new W205 “tseshka”, since “drive” is its strong point. The engineers themselves working on the release of this new C-class product speak of it as a driver’s model. The following can be said about the comfort of passengers in the cabin: “Driving in such a car is identical to driving in a car with conventional spring suspensions.” The developers equipped this Mercedes with a single air suspension, the purpose of which is to provide the sedan with more sporty characteristics.
The appearance of the Mercedes-Benz C250 attracts with its individual original details, but the overall image lacks integrity. There is even less space inside the car. If you look at the raised window sill, you will get the illusion of a deep landing. However, the massive central tunnel will not allow the driver to sit comfortably in the seat, as he will rest his knees on the tunnel. At the same time, the driver or passenger will involuntarily slam the door hard, since they are not yet accustomed to the fact that it is very light. Let us immediately note that the Germans have not forgotten about Russian roads, and especially for this country they produce “tseshki” with a raised ground clearance.
Compared to the previous model, this sedan is less comfortable. Air suspension, for which you can pay extra, does not particularly affect the smooth ride. Of course, there will be less pumping, but on uneven surfaces it will shock you even more. I would like to see much greater results from “pneumo”.
If your car doesn’t have air suspension, because you didn’t pay extra for it, you shouldn’t despair. This car will find something to please you with, as it still has many trump cards in its arsenal. If the ride is softer in the Mercedes W204, then otherwise the new driving car is superior to its predecessor in literally everything.
Mercedes-Benz W205 interior
The first thing I want to talk about is the salon. His rich, literally, inner world is visible to the naked eye. The Germans were extremely sophisticated in interior finishing materials. The change in configurations is also striking. If previously three lines were used: Elegance, Classic and Avantgarde, now the new product has Avantgarde with a star and Luxury with a branded classic grille and the presence of a “sight” on the hood. As for the basic version, it became nameless.
The seats have become better shaped, with the driver's seat lowering. You can pump up a special hard roller under your lower back. And although the car has quite developed lateral support, the main load still falls on the upper back. The transmission selector was moved to the steering column, but the Command system controller remained on the central tunnel. The electromechanical brake replaced the foot parking brake. Rear seat passengers can ensure their comfort with their own climate control.
And of course, it is worth noting that otherworldly sounds are practically not heard inside the cabin when the windows are closed. If a car moves on a road with perfect surface, passengers may have the illusion of flying. Therefore, the Mercedes W205 can be considered the quietest car in this class.
Test drive of the new "tseshka"
Having driven a Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 series from 2014, you realize that the car is so controllable that you stop paying attention to its rigidity. “Tseshka” reacts so quickly to the steering wheel, although, in fairness, I must add that the electric power steering could be better. The Mercedes drives reliably, safely and easily, even when entering a turn at high speed, the car glides smoothly without much resistance, shifting the whole body to a wider radius. At high speeds, the “205” remains obedient and confident, which of course cannot help but please. And if we add to this the silence in the cabin, then we can safely say that this model is superior to the previous Mercedes model. Especially for Russia, the Germans will release a version of the C 180 with a reinforced turbo engine. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to drive this particular car, since it was not on the test drive. The 2.1 turbodiesel four contains a small-displacement Mercedes engine. Such cars will come to the Russian Federation later, but it is worth mentioning now. So the diesel C 250 CDI worked well with the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission. This car already has air suspension, and accordingly the Agility Select system, which improves communication with the accelerator, although it somewhat spoils the smooth ride.
But the petrol version of the C 250 made the best impression on us. Let us immediately note that in Russia you will have to pay an additional 150 thousand rubles for it. However, it's worth it. Although this sedan is not the most powerful and expensive, it is the most balanced car in the C-class. The new chassis is faster than the previous version. It is paired with a V6 engine or a V8 turbo engine.
It’s just a pity that the most powerful version of the car, the Mercedes-Benz C 300, has not yet arrived on our market.
