The G23D gasoline engine, with a volume of 2.3 liters, has an atmospheric layout and fuel injection with electronic control. Its power is 150 hp. s., but only in the upper range – at 5,500 rpm. The thrust reaches 214 Nm of torque in the range from 3,500 to 4,600 rpm.
The volume of the diesel engine type D20DTR is slightly smaller - 2 liters. It is equipped with common rail fuel injection technology (under pressure), as well as an electronically controlled variable geometry turbine of the E-VGT type. Diesel power is almost the same as gasoline - 149 hp. s., but already from 3,400 to 4,000 rpm. But the thrust is noticeably higher - 360 Nm of torque, and its peak is reached much earlier (from 1,500 to 2,800 rpm).
Transmission
There are 3 transmission options for SsangYong Actyon Sports.
The pickup truck has two manual transmissions – a 5-speed and a 6-speed. The first is intended exclusively for petrol modification, and the second - for diesel. The design of the manual transmission ensures a short lever stroke and smooth shifts, and background noise and vibrations are leveled out by a dual-mass flywheel.
The 6-speed E-Tronic automatic transmission not only guarantees brisk acceleration of the pickup truck, but also confident operation when the kick-down mode is activated. Its efficiency is excellent. This transmission includes a manual gear shift mode - a standard option today.
The SsangYong Actyon Sports has plug-in all-wheel drive. This was implemented in order to improve efficiency indicators. In normal mode, the pickup remains rear-wheel drive. But if necessary, you can activate the all-wheel drive system, and while driving. In this case, the thrust will be distributed in a 50/50 ratio.

The Aktion Sports chassis is made traditionally for modern pickup trucks.
Its front suspension is independent, wishbone, spring type, equipped with an anti-roll bar and telescopic shock absorbers. Guarantees good handling. The rear axle is a 5-link spring-type suspension, also equipped with a stabilizer bar and telescopic shock absorbers. The steering is represented by rack and pinion and hydraulic booster.
But the design of the brake system varies depending on the equipment. For modifications that do not have ABS, ventilated disc mechanisms are installed in front, and drum mechanisms are installed in the rear. If ABS is available, disc brakes are mounted on the rear axle.
In 2011, the Korean company showed the public a concept car, on the basis of which the SsangYong Actyon Sports 2016 frame pickup truck was released in 2012. This is the second generation, which is produced and sold to this day. By the way, as we already said, this is a frame car, and this is rare on the modern market. Let's discuss all the new car parts.
Design
The car received a different appearance; it began to look more aggressive and modern. A high relief hood is used, the relief of which works for aerodynamics. Other headlights with halogen filling are installed; they are quite massive in size. In between we can see a hexagonal black radiator grille. The car's bumper has stylish, accentuating shapes, it houses large fog lights and there is a large plastic protection.
The side of the truck has stylish, narrow recesses inward at both the top and bottom. Look at the photo, it looks really stylish. The wheel arches have a slight flare, and between us there is a chrome molding. The rear view mirrors also have a relief shape.
The rear optics of the Sanyeng Aktion Sport are simple for this body type; they are emphasized by stamping on the side. The trunk lid is large, textured and quite comfortable. A classic rear bumper is also used, which has a recess for easy loading. There are reflectors at the back and nothing else.

Salon
Looking inside you realize that this is a completely different car. The upholstery materials are also simple, but leather is present in expensive trim levels. The front seats can be upholstered in leather, they have slight lateral support and even electrical adjustment. There is a sofa at the back that can accommodate three people. There are nets and an armrest. In principle, there is quite enough free space both in front and behind.
They tried to make the center console a little unusual, but its equipment itself is not the most premium. In the upper part between the air deflectors there is an electronic clock. Below is a simple standard radio with two washers, buttons and a monitor. To the left of this are buttons in a circular design, there is a button for the alarm, heated windows and rear wiper. Below is essentially a simple climate control unit for the SsangYong Actyon Sports 2016 with washers and a display. On the left vertically there are 4 washers that control the seat heating and the rest, it looks unusual and cool.
The driver will get a large 3-spoke steering wheel with leather trim and a bunch of buttons to control the radio. The dashboard is as simple as possible, but it has beautiful backlighting. Only analog sensors are installed, the tachometer has a red backlight, and all the others have a blue backlight. There is also a not very informative on-board computer.
The tunnel has a recess in the dashboard panel, which contains a simple niche for small items. Then we see the cigarette lighter, next to which there is a large gearbox selector, which has a chrome edging on the base. Under the door there are cup holders, and to the left of all this is a large mechanical handbrake.
Technical characteristics of Sanyeng Aktion Sport
The model received only two units in the line, and one of them is present on the crossover version. These engines are not particularly powerful and therefore you should not expect good dynamics from a car weighing 2740 kilograms.
So, as a base, the model will receive a 2-liter D20DTF diesel engine. It produces 149 horsepower and 360 H*m of torque. The dynamics are terrible - 15 seconds to hundreds and 163 km/h maximum speed. This is a turbocharged unit with electronic control function. Consumption is around 10 liters in city mode and 7 liters on the highway.
There is also a 2.3 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. This is a 16-valve engine with direct injection. It has 150 horses and 214 H*m of torque. The maximum speed is 161 km/h, and it consumes as much as 15 liters of AI-95 in the city and 10 liters of gasoline on the highway.
The model is paired with a 6- and 5-speed manual transmission, and it will also be possible to install a 6-speed automatic. The automatic transmission's firmware has been updated and it has become a little better. All versions have all-wheel drive and hydraulic booster.
The model has an independent spring suspension at the front with 2 levers, and at the rear there is a dependent system with trailing arms. The model has disc brakes both front and rear, and only the front ones are ventilated.
Price
The car is quite cheap, the basic equipment will cost you 779,000 rubles, but its equipment will be extremely weak:
