We change the oil in the automatic transmission of a Daewoo Matiz ourselves. Daewoo Matiz (Daewoo Matiz) oil change in a manual transmission. Video instructions What kind of oil is in the Daewoo Matiz 0.8 gearbox

Widely in demand automotive market Daewoo Matiz has a number of advantages. The engineers realized not only their wildest fantasies, but also made a lot of efforts to win the love and popularity of the Russian buyer.

Depending on the configuration of the Matiz car, mechanical or automatic transmission. Possessing absolute reliability, the gearbox, however, requires careful and attentive treatment. At the first sign of a problem, immediate action must be taken. The gearbox is a rather complex component of a car; it is easier to eliminate the malfunction in time than to “get” into trouble. expensive repairs. One of the ways to provide “first aid” is to change the oil in the gearbox.

How to change lubricating fluid in the gearbox?

Replacing transmission fluid in a manual transmission

For Daewoo cars With a manual transmission, it is recommended to update the lubricant every 40 thousand km. Although the first shift, according to the schedule, must be done after 20 thousand km. The replacement procedure takes place on a warm car.

Procedure:

How to carry out a shift in an automatic transmission

The design feature of the automatic transmission does not allow interference with its operation. But replacing a substance, without which the entire structure cannot work, is allowed and necessary. Can be produced as full shift transmission fluid, and partial. As in the case of mechanics, the automatic transmission must be warmed up before performing work. Then drive the car onto the lift. For partial replacement just drain the liquid by unscrewing the plug drain hole. The gearbox pan also needs to be removed. It is better to do this with an assistant so that the pallet does not tilt during removal. Drain off any remaining liquid and wipe the parts with a clean rag. Remove and clean the filter. If necessary, replace with a new one. Now, having assembled everything in reverse order, fill in new gear oil. The volume of liquid being poured is exactly as much as was drained.

A complete replacement is a more labor-intensive job and is best done at a service station. To replace it yourself, first of all, disconnect the tubes leading to the automatic transmission radiator. Now you need to attach the tubes, with the help of which the waste will be drained into the prepared container. At the same time, during the draining process, fresh lubricant is added. The engine is running during this operation. When the new substance begins to fill the container, the engine can be turned off. At the end of the procedure, return everything to its place.

When to change

Daewoo Matiz - hatchback with five-speed gearbox gears, when switching which should not be extraneous noise, unreasonable jerks, sharp jolts. If this happens, then it’s time to change the lubricant. And it doesn’t matter automatic or manual transmission.

The condition of the lubricating fluid should be checked regularly once a week. To do this, with the engine running, pull out the gearbox dipstick, wipe it with a rag, and pay attention to the color. If the stain is dark or even black, the lubricating fluid has expired. The level is determined using a mark on the dipstick: exactly the middle between the maximum and minimum values.

Which one to use

First of all, it is worth remembering that oils intended for a manual gearbox cannot be used in automatic transmissions!

All-season synthetic oil has proven itself in Russian conditions. It meets the requirements of VW501.50. The advantages of such a lubricant are obvious:

  • Feels great when low temperatures;
  • Reduces noise levels;
  • The range of use at high and low temperatures is quite wide;
  • Anti-wear properties at a high level;
  • High quality resource;
  • The declared viscosity saves fuel.

SAE 75W-90 viscosity grade is the most favorable. Kinematic viscosity at 400C – cSt 75, and at 1000C – cSt 14.5. The pour point is -450C.

Such substances are applicable not only in automatic transmission gears, but also in the Matiz manual transmission, where it is recommended to use a lubricant API class GL-4. The Mobile brand is perfect. Castrol Multivehicle75w90 for mechanics is also highly preferable. The gearbox is clearer and works better, there are no problems with gear shifting.

Transmission fluid for a small car: practical advice

Why do you need an oil change in a Matiz automatic transmission?

The service life of a lubricant is far from infinite. And, as parts of the car wear out during operation, they form chips that collect in the oil pan. Some of the chips stick to the magnet, and some are spread throughout the automatic transmission. And this contributes increased wear transmissions. The filter installed in the box is also not durable. When clogged, it no longer fully performs its function.

Of course, wear of parts does not occur immediately. Initially, during the break-in period, the rubbing pairs rub against each other. During this process, chips accumulate in the oil and it is advisable to drain it. Further, throughout the entire service life of the gearbox, wear is less significant. At the last stage of wear of the assembly parts, help is no longer useful. In order to prevent this last stage from occurring for as long as possible, it is necessary to monitor the level and quality of the lubricant.

And a little about the author’s secrets

My life is not only connected with cars, but with repairs and maintenance.

But I also have hobbies like all men. My hobby is fishing. I started a personal blog in which I share my experience. I try a lot of things various methods

and ways to increase catch. If interested, you can read it. Nothing extra, just my personal experience.

Attention, TODAY only!

Daewoo Matiz - love at first sight. Cars have no prejudices; each car is a set of advantages and a baggage of disadvantages. And the advantages of Matiz are colossal! All cars are the embodiment of engineering. And the people who painstakingly developed component parts and calculated a large number of physical parameters, trying to maintain a balance between reliability and cost, hardly expected that the car would be called a lady's car or brutal, categorized as luxurious or a matter of whims.

With a range of forty thousand kilometers, a Daewoo Matiz is necessary. Experts recommend taking a close look at the automatic gearbox. The engineers have tears in their eyes, but they need to look at it differently. For the driver who is not keen on independent driving technical maintenance

car, automatic transmission is a gear selection lever, it is a selector, on the center console in the cabin. This may be the tip of the iceberg, but from the top you can see a lot. If the car did not show symptoms of malaise, to strengthen your ideas about technical serviceability vehicle

, check the operation of the gearbox.

[Hide]

Test No. 1

  1. We start the engine, confidently press the brake pedal all the way, and release the handbrake.
  2. Then, move the selector lever one by one to all positions.
  3. From mode “P” (parking) to mode “R” (reverse - moving backward), or when switching from mode “N” (neutral - no gear is occupied) to mode “D4” (drive - moving forward with sequential connection).

When the gear is engaged, there should be no shocks; loud, harsh sounds that frighten the timid driver should not be heard from somewhere in the depths of the car. The tachometer needle should swing slightly on the wave new show and freeze at a new value, the engine will increase the tone of a satisfied rumbling, demonstrating the tractability and serviceability of the systems.

A similar check is carried out on a flat surface of the parking space.

ATTENTION:
During road tests, do not take your eyes off the road for more than half a second!

Test No. 2

The second method is designed to check the gearbox:

  1. Let's hit the road in the Daewoo Matiz. Select “D” and move away from the parking area onto a flat road with the least traffic.
  2. At the beginning of the movement, smoothly press the gas pedal, each time by ear, or by the tachometer needle, determining when the gear shift occurs, and try to remember the shift intervals and the position of the needle.
  3. Then stop and start moving again, pressing the pedal so that you approach the moment of shifting more slowly, delaying the engagement of the next gear.

Do we see any jerks or suspicious sounds? On to the next test!

Test No. 3

Let's remember driving school and play manual transmission on an automatic machine.

  1. Press the “OverDrive” button on the selector, the “O/D OFF” sign will light up on the instrument panel.
  2. Let's start driving by moving the lever to the "L" position, gradually raising the engine speed while driving until the car begins to hum diligently and beg next transmission(tachometer value is around 3000 rpm).
  3. Let's move the lever to position 2 and raise the speed, allowing the transmission to shift to “D4”.
  4. And for the last time, having gained a buzzing speed, we press the button on the selector, allowing the Matiz to rush at high speed.

The gears shifted as if someone was holding the car rear bumper and released at the moment when you moved the lever? However, no irritating factors were found. Great, last one left road test!

Test No. 4

It is aimed at testing aggressiveness.

  1. We accelerate the car to 50 km/h, then quickly press the gas pedal all the way, at this moment the automatic transmission will lower the gear, and you will feel a gentle push forward.
  2. Didn't have time to understand what happened? Then, from 50 km/h, start increasing the speed, and then press the “OverDrive” button.

Acceleration obtained - excellent, test passed!

Test No. 5

And now the last of the proposed tests:

  1. Let's park the car on a level surface and open the hood, leaving the engine on.
  2. It's time to look at transmission fluid(gearbox oil). All you need: a clean white cloth.
  3. Remove the gearbox dipstick (in engine compartment, two dipsticks and the one you need is not the one used to check the oil in the engine) and wipe it with a cloth.
    Notice the color the liquid left on the fabric. The lighter and more pronounced the red tint of the oil, the more resource There is fluid left to lubricate and preserve automatic transmission elements.
    If there are still small particles in the stain on the rag, if the stain is dark brown or black, it means that the fluid life is short and further use can lead to an accident in the unit.
  4. Let's insert the dipstick back into the guide tube and change to driver's seat and with an interval of 3 seconds from gear “L” we will alternately move the selector to the “P” value, and then remove the dipstick for control measurements of the oil level.
    The lower part of the dipstick should be wetted with transmission fluid, the wetting limit indicates the current level, which is between the “min” and “max” values (ideally, not lower than the middle of the segment between the marks).

If the level is abnormal, add oil or get rid of excess.

If, based on the test results, you think that the car behaved uncharacteristically, the gear shift was accompanied by unpleasant sounds and constant sharp jolts, or the automatic delays the engagement of gears, sorting through the gears which gear will go next - the box needs help.

Effective help is to replace the transmission fluid. The manufacturer claims that the automatic transmission oil does not require replacement and is designed for the entire life of the vehicle, but who should you believe more, the facts or the words of the manufacturer?

Fluid replacement

This problem can be solved simply: believe in yourself, be patient and don’t give in to circumstances, your Daewoo Matiz needs you , and you won’t let him down!

Choice

On the dipstick, besides the level marks, were there any other symbols? If there were, then this is the type of oil recommended by the manufacturer, or your dipstick is scratched. On the manufacturer's website about ATF ( Automatic Transmission Fluid) does not say anything, the instruction manual says “esso jws 3314”, but we recommend:

  • DEXRON II or III from any manufacturer;
  • MERCON M;
  • CASTROL TLX 988D;
  • RAVENOL.

Let's tell you a secret: all oils are good, choose according to your taste! Be guided by oil tolerances, cost and popularity of the brand; the most advertised oils are often counterfeited by scammers. We recommend purchasing “Dextron III”, in a volume of 5 liters, from a trusted seller and inspecting the purchase before paying.

Tools and accessories

To change the gearbox oil you will need:

  • ring wrenches or ratchet wrenches with 8 and 10 mm heads, as well as an adapter with a square section (square slot, Robertson slot) with a side of 3/8 inch (9.5 mm);
  • a funnel with a narrow neck, a guide for the tube;
  • two canisters with a capacity of 5 liters each;
  • transmission fluid 5 liters (automatic transmission oil we purchased);
  • fabric, lint-free cleaning cloths and work clothes;
  • automatic transmission filter - must be purchased in advance;
  • Automatic transmission pan gasket - also purchased in advance.

Replacement process

  1. We drive the car after a five-kilometer trip onto the overpass, inspection hole or jack up the car yourself, using everything possible measures precautions.
  2. Unscrew the crankcase protection.
  3. Using a ratchet wrench with an adapter, unscrew the drain plug and immediately place a five-liter bottle under a dark stream of oil.
  4. We wait until all the liquid has drained.
  5. Carefully remove the automatic transmission pan (everything is covered in oil), when unscrewing the bolts, trying to choose their diametrically opposite location to avoid skewing the pan.
  6. We wipe the edges to which the tray was screwed, maintaining the sterile cleanliness of all internal parts Automatic transmission. We carefully wipe the pan, the magnets attached to it, and the drain plug, which at the base contains a magnet that collects the products of the gearbox.
  7. Dismantling old filter boxes and install a new one.
  8. Then we return the pan to its place with a new gasket, clean magnets in their places and bolt it around the perimeter through opposite threads.
  9. We tighten the cap and pour so much into an empty five-liter bottle new fluid, how much old poured out.
  10. We insert a funnel into the guide tube and pour oil from the bottle into the automatic transmission.
  11. Warm up the car for Idling engine for 20 minutes and check the level. Replacement completed successfully! Let's perform the above tests and evaluate the changes.

Super mechanics advise performing a so-called complete or 100% oil change in an automatic transmission, replacing the old oil with fresh oil. For this it is necessary from oil cooler disconnect two pipes, one for new oil, the other for used oil.

Then apply new oil under pressure, draining the old one from another pipe; the operation is carried out with the engine running, and therefore oil pump Automatic transmission. Two people work, one controls the oil flow, the other starts the engine.

This method really allows you to spill a lot of oil through the gearbox and expel a decent amount of waste, combustion products and other nasty things that come from nowhere. You've already run to do complete replacement? We have to disappoint you, Daewoo Matiz does not have an oil cooler for automatic transmission supplied by the manufacturer from the factory.

Another news is that it is impossible to drain all the used oil and waste products from the box at one time due to the extensive and deep network of oil lines, the torque converter and the design features of the automatic transmission! The mechanism will hold from 300 ml to 1 liter of transmission fluid with the most powerful compressor installation.

If the transmission fluid was thick and dirty before replacement, but the gearbox worked, even with minor flaws, then when replacing using the displacement method, there is a risk of clogging these same oil lines, which will lead to a serious accident. Without any additional effort, 3.5 liters of waste fluid is drained from the gearbox out of a total volume of 4.7 liters. This means you can drain 74% dirty oil, and dilute the remaining 26% fresh.

Thus, the operating conditions of the automatic transmission will gently but significantly improve. Updating the state by 66% working fluid and having tested the behavior of the automatic transmission, upon subsequent replacement (say, after 1000 km) the oil will be completely in excellent condition. The likelihood that even before the replacement was present mechanical failure is also large, and by replacing most of the oil, we will dispel doubts about the nature of the malfunction and save money.

To replace it in two stages, we will need 7 liters of liquid. About the same amount will need to be used in a car service, but you will have to pay for the service and guess about the quality of the work performed.

Even if our Jatco JF405E is not capricious to replacement with displacement, if the condition of the gearbox is unsatisfactory, we independently check how effective this procedure will be. And if the condition is satisfactory, we carry out preventive maintenance and increase the service life of the mechanism.

Video “Changing the oil in a Daewoo manual transmission”

Change of oil mechanical box transmission of Daewoo Matiz is a standard periodic maintenance procedure. This means that the oil must be changed regularly, which, however, can be done.

What you will need:

    container for old oil;

    a syringe or blower for filling in new oil;

    ratchet with a 24mm and 4-point head.

When to change and how much oil to fill in a Matiz manual transmission

The frequency of oil changes in the Matiz gearbox is quite interesting. If the car is new, just from the showroom, it makes sense to change it factory oil already after running in at zero maintenance (1-2 thousand kilometers). Or change it at 20,000 km, when the production of new rubbing parts is especially intense. After this, the replacement interval transmission oil increases slightly, and will then be every 40,000 km.

To change the oil on a Matiz with a 0.8 engine you will need 2.1 liters of new oil oh, and the 1.0 engine will require 2.4 liters of oil. It is recommended not to save by rounding up to 2 liters, but to add even the missing 100 grams.

How to change the oil in a Matiz box

As a rule, the oil should be changed on a pit, lift or overpass, otherwise you should be prepared for additional difficulties and inconveniences. For the same purpose, it is worth using a syringe or an oil blower, rather than resorting to sophisticated methods of pouring oil using a hose and a funnel from under the hood.

First you need to unscrew filler plug using a 24mm wrench. Then place a container for old oil and unscrew the drain plug with a 4-pointer. While the oil is draining, remove the shavings collected by the magnet drain plug . After this, when the oil stops flowing out, you can tighten the plug back.

Hello, dear Kadabra readers.
So I decided to cover the topic of changing the oil in the gearbox on a Daewoo Matiz 0.8 (manual transmission) 2009.
Many, not knowing where and what to fill, go to the bydlomasters (I am silent about the professionals in their field), and the master at random begins to look and think what and how..... and this is oil after 100 km. starts to leak.
The oil change process lasts 10 minutes. plus preparation 20 min.
Those. In the end, it took me 30 minutes to change the oil in the box.

Well, let me start with what I needed for this:
1. Oil in a box;
We will need 2.4 liters of oil. I bought two of these cans. (I had to roll up for the third one)

2. Syringe for pouring oil;
The cost of the syringe is 110 rubles. at the local car market.

3. Sealant;
I found it... I don’t remember how much it cost.

4. 12 and 24 mm wrench + 10 mm square socket wrench;

5. Acetone;

When everything is purchased, we go to the ditch.

Let me make a reservation: you only need to change the oil when the car is warm.
The documents say that you need to drive 10 km before changing the oil.

Now where the box itself is located.

We unscrew the bolts circled and see where we have to pour the oil.

Before draining the oil, thoroughly wipe the area around the bolts. So that dirt does not get into the unscrewed holes. It’s clear how to drain the oil. I unscrewed the oil and filler bolts and that was it.

Afterwards, the bolt and the hole from which the oil has already been drained must be degreased. I did this with acetone. Then we coat the bolt with sealant and screw it into place. We twist it carefully, because... the bolt has a tapered thread. Next, through the upper hole, pour oil along the lower edge of this hole. (just fill until the oil flows over the top). Next, twist it and voila. All is ready.

P.s. oil change instructions

Daewoo Matiz is available in several trim levels, including a version with automatic transmission. Independent operation is significantly complicated by the peculiarities of its design. The only possible intervention is an oil change.

There are ways to completely and partially change the oil.

Automatic transmission Daewoo Matiz in dismantled condition

In total, the automatic transmission contains from 2.7 liters to 3.2 liters of oil, depending on what engine the car is equipped with. Changing the oil in an automatic transmission is quite simple operation, however, it requires the work of several people, one of whom will be engaged direct replacement oil, another will start and stop the engine, and the third will be responsible for the position of the container with new oil.

Beginning of work

The oil, especially in cold weather, has a high degree of viscosity, so it will be quite difficult to drain it. It’s good if the machine sits for several hours before starting work. warm garage. However the best option will drive 5-10 kilometers so that the existing oil warms up sufficiently. After this, you can drive the car into a pit or lift it on a lift. The first option is preferable, since the container with fresh oil will need to be installed above the automatic transmission level.

Partial replacement

Having first turned off the engine, unscrew the plug of the transmission pan. About a third of the total oil will leak out from there. To drain a little more, you need to carefully unscrew the pan.

The main thing is not to do sudden movements, since by tilting the pan a little, we can spill the existing oil.

Next you will need to remove the filter, from under which some more oil may leak, so be careful! Quite a lot of “dirt” collects inside the filter, so it makes sense to wash it. To do this, you can use solvent or even gasoline. It is also recommended to blow out the filter. In addition, it will be possible, at the same time, to clean the pan, which we previously removed, from deposits. After that, we install everything in place - the filter, gasket (if there is one) and the pan.

In the hole in which the dipstick is located, you need to pour exactly the same amount of oil as you drained the old one. However, even if you haven’t measured it, you can simply top it up to the maximum level.

Video about changing Matiz oil

Complete replacement

All previous actions allowed us to drain no more than half of the oil, so this can only be called a partial replacement. Now we will need to replace the resulting mixture of old and new oil with completely new one. Preliminary “dilution” must be done in order to “thin out” the liquid a little, as this will help us in the future.

We disconnect the oil drain pipes leading to the cooling radiator and put hoses on the channels through which the oil will flow. They will drain the old oil into the appropriate canister or bottle. Prepare a container in advance where the used mixture will be poured. Keep in mind that The volume of drained oil may be greater than what fits in the entire box.

Simultaneously with draining the old oil, you will need to fill in new oil. So, after everything is connected, one of the assistants should hold the fluid with new oil slightly above the level of the neck, and the other should start the car. In just a second, old oil will pour into the prepared container. It has dark color. But new oil will displace it. And, after 5-10 seconds, you will see that the canister is already drained pure oil. It is at this moment that you need to give the command to your partner to turn off the engine.

That's all. You can remove the hoses and reconnect the oil drain pipes to the cooling radiator. Next, you will need to add oil through the appropriate hole to the maximum mark. Later check this indicator on a cold and warm engine.

Too much high level may damage the operation of the automatic transmission.

With this method, a little more than 10 liters of oil can be wasted. If you want to use the services of a specialized service, then keep in mind that even the presence of equipment that will push out oil will still not allow you to spend less oil.

Fast partial replacement

If you change your oil earlier required period, then only a quick partial replacement is possible. To do this, you will need to unscrew the cap and drain the oil, of which no more than a third will drain. Next, simply add new oil to the appropriate mark. This procedure is repeated several times until the drained oil becomes noticeably lighter. However, in case of partial replacement, you need to add oil of the same brand that is already there. Otherwise you risk getting serious problems with automatic transmission.

Break-in after replacement rarely exceeds 100 km. This period is best to avoid rapid acceleration.
