Chevrolet Aveo received a residence permit in Nizhny Novgorod not immediately, but only at the beginning of 2013. This happened thanks to the signed contract assembly agreement in February 2012. Initially, the car was launched in a sedan body, and a little later, a hatchback was also launched into production. The production is designed to produce up to 30 thousand cars annually.
At the initial stages of assembly, the following shortcomings were noted:
- On cars, extraneous sounds were detected in the wheel calipers. Later, the malfunction was eliminated.
- Insufficient insulation of the cabin in the area of the wheel arches and doors. The disadvantage manifests itself when the car is operating on damaged road surfaces, but it is eliminated by installing additional materials.
- During running-in, a decrease in the level of coolant was noted, with no signs of leakage outside or inside the cavities of the engine.
- During the warranty period, the failure of the ABS sensors or the wiring to it was noted.
- During the first year of operation, there were extraneous noises in the ventilation and heating system of the passenger compartment.
- With active use of the cigarette lighter socket, the fuse often blows out.
It is worth noting that the automatic transmission is not the most efficient operation, therefore it is the manual transmission that is in demand. But even there leaks of oil seals and filler plugs were noted.
When operating in winter conditions, the engine may warm up slowly, which can cause malfunctions in the cooling and heating systems of the passenger compartment.

The production of Chevrolet cars at one of the factories of this assembly auto giant began in late autumn 2008. Even then it was known that the enterprise was designed to reach the design capacity of up to 150 thousand cars. The first car was then the Chevrolet Lacetti.
The launch of production of the second generation Chevrolet Aveo took place in 2011, when the supply of SKD assemblies began.
General reviews about the build quality of the car of this plant are quite favorable. Objectively, the car is given an unofficial superiority in the class, but many shortcomings are also revealed:
- Cases of power steering rudder release during the warranty period (in the period up to 10 thousand km) were noted.
- Installed stabilizer struts can emit knocks, which is eliminated after the constriction at the service.
- On some cars, negligence was revealed when performing assembly operations of external body parts and internal panels. Uneven clearances between body and front bumpers, trim materials and body panels are noted.
- After operation in various climatic conditions, creaks of plastic panels appear.
- There are problems with closing the doors, which is caused by improper adjustment of the locking mechanism. And the door seals were not firmly fixed.
Chevrolet Aveo has spread its marketing wings over half the world. Soon it will "land" in Russia as well.

1955 was characterized by the fact that the company first introduced a V-shaped 8-cylinder engine, which was equipped with two carburetors and developed an output of almost 165 horsepower. Later, this engine was modified and already had four carburetors, which raised the power to 185 hp.
In 1960, the company began producing its cars in Argentina under the Chevy II brand. However, after 18 years, there was inflation, due to which production had to be curtailed.

The originally South Korean registration of the Aveo model is not accidental: after the official Seoul liquidated the Daewoo company, its division for the production of passenger cars was bought by General Motors. The American corporation has decided to produce budget cars for developing countries at Daewoo production facilities. Since the existing model range of the South Korean company did not suit the new owners, it was decided to develop new models, among which was the Aveo. Initially, the car bore the name Daewoo Kalos, moreover, in other markets it was branded under Holden, Pontiac, Suzuki and Chevrolet.
The first generation was shown in early 2002. And by the end of the same year, the car was delivered to dealerships in 120 countries around the world. By the way, Aveo was collected in eleven countries, including Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
The model that replaced Daewoo Lanos received a new T200 platform (wheelbase 2480 mm), exterior design from Italdesign, and three body modifications - a 3 and 5-door hatchback and a 4-door sedan.
The design of the cars sold in the Asian and American markets was different from that for the models that were sold in Europe. The differences were in the design of the headlights. For the Asian and American markets, Aveo came with separate, located below the headlight unit, direction indicators, and for the European - integrated into a common unit.
The car was equipped with only gasoline engines. Engines of different sizes were offered for different markets. So, on the European market, a line of power units with a volume of 1.2, 1.4 and 1.5 liters was presented. The 1.6-liter petrol unit was installed on cars sold in North America, Asia, Australia and Ukraine. These engines were aggregated with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission.
In 2005, a facelift of the model was carried out, and the manufacturers only updated the sedan.
The dimensions of the car and the wheelbase have slightly increased (by 9 mm). Traditionally, changes have affected the front and rear of the car (the shape of the radiator grille, headlights, rear optics, front and rear bumpers has changed). Also, the Aveo sedan has other door handles. Stylistic changes also affected the interior: a new dashboard was installed here, and the noise insulation of the cabin was improved. Also, the 1.2 and 1.6 liter engines were upgraded, which became more economical.
The updated hatchback, presented in 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, already had the outlines of the next generation Aveo.
The front part of the car was radically redesigned: the radiator grille was divided into upper and lower halves, and the Chevrolet branded "cross" was hoisted on the jumper separating them. The headlights of the head light have changed, which have become broken-rectangular. A different form of the front bumper has become, which has now been clearly divided into three parts - a wide central one, and two narrow rectangular side ones, in which round fog lights are "inlaid".
There was also an update of the rear brake lights, in the center of which were mounted semicircular reversing lights, and above them - semicircular direction indicators. To match the new optics, the shape of the rear bumper was changed, in which a stylized false grille appeared.

The presentation of a conceptual sample of a new generation of this car took place in 2010 at the Paris Motor Show. The second generation will not be assembled in a number of countries where the previous generation was assembled before. In the same Ukraine, the assembly of the first generation of the model, which was named ZAZ Vida, will be established. The novelty will be produced in South Korea, USA, Venezuela and China.
The updated Aveo is built on a fundamentally new platform from the Gamma II concern, the base of which is 45 mm longer than that of the previous T200. The model has changed in size. The body length of the sedan has grown by 81 mm (from 4318 to 4399 mm), and that of the hatchback - by 160 mm (from 3880 to 4040 mm). The car "sounded" in width by 25 mm (from 1710 to 1735 mm). And the car added 12 mm in height (from 1505 to 1517 mm).
The exterior design has also changed - it has become more aggressive, primarily due to the sullen-looking new embossed bonnet of headlights with separate optics and a frowning radiator grille. It is divided, like the 2007 hatchback, into two halves - an upper and a lower one. The bumper has become a different shape, as well as the niches for the fog lights located in it. The wheel arches have become more convex, athletic. The design of the trunk lid, rear optics and bumper has been completely changed. The exterior of the hatchback at the front is no different from the sedan.
At the rear, in comparison with the 2007 hatchback, there have been noticeable changes: the tailgate and rear optics have become a different form.
Cardinal changes have taken place in the interior of the model. First of all, the space in the cabin and the luggage compartment has increased (due to the increased dimensions) (by 100 liters for the sedan, and by 70 for the hatchback). The materials of interior trim and seat upholstery have been significantly improved. The cockpit design has changed significantly.
The analogue dashboard was replaced by an electronic analogue (analogue tachometer + digital odometer), a new steering wheel appeared.
The center console with plastic edging on the sides "under chrome" has been solidly transformed. A niche for small things appeared on top, and a new audio system was located in the center. The control levers for the climate system have also changed, with a double-leaf glove box with an iPod connector in the upper compartment.
In addition, a niche appeared under the front passenger seat, where it is convenient to fold documents. Already in the basic version, the model is equipped with airbags for the driver and front passenger, immobilizer, central locking with remote control, air conditioning, audio system with steering wheel controls.
The new Aveo is equipped with modern economical engines, including a 1.3-liter diesel engine manufactured by Fiat (supplied to all markets, except for the markets of the CIS countries). Moreover, the diesel is available in two modifications - developing 74 and 94 horsepower, respectively. A more powerful motor is aggregated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a less powerful one - with a 5-range "automatic".
Among the gasoline engines there are 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines. Models with 1.4 liter turbocharged and 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engines are available for the US market only.
On the market of the CIS countries, the model is available with a 1.6 liter engine, which is aggregated either with a 5-speed "mechanics" or with a 6-speed "automatic".
