A faithful old friend, the “Chinese” Great Wall Hover H5 in a new guise. Great Wall Hover H5 SUV about its technical characteristics, a brief overview, price, as well as photos and videos. The quieter you go, the further you will go.

Hello, dear readers! I decided to add my two cents on Great Wall Hover H5 and post your impressions of this car here. The events described began their reporting in 2013, so many of the statements can already be revised.

So. In the early spring, or late winter of 2013, a seemingly simple task arose: to replace the second family car- Chevrolet Niva for traveling around construction sites (work), villages, nature and destinations where asphalt is not always a priori, so to speak. At the same time, there was a desire to get not just a luxury SUV, but also a certain amount of comfort.

Choice. Initially, they didn’t look at Hover, but looked at used crossovers/SUVs from 08-09. up to 800,000 rub. Everything was sad: Outlanders, X-Trails, Tiguans and others like them disappeared by themselves due to the lack of off-road potential, and they were all too small.

For the same reason, Duster dropped out, and new Niva was not considered at all. The Korean Sorento and Sportage could have been a ride, but there were no normal options on the secondary market, and there was no desire to spend six months on the market.

Pajero Sport I is too archaic, but the wonderful L200 pickup is no longer needed because it is a pickup. Conversations about Hover, I noticed, are accompanied by conversations about UAZ, and I have something to say, I’ll say it now.

Why not UAZ? UAZ Patriot - great SUV, no doubt. My father told me one case: their director bought a short Gelenwagen for hunting/fishing and one day he tried to test it in action in a field covered in snow. A diesel UAZ pulled him out of there.

However, the same UAZ, before becoming cool car, the owner took care of it himself for six months, and what he couldn’t do, he took care of in the service department. Six months and a lot of investments later, he got a car that I wouldn't mind having in my garage.

To suffer for six months making him a normal car! Are you seriously!? Have you seen any crash tests? The body breaks off the frame and flies forward, killing the driver with the steering column, and the passenger simply with the dashboard, and this at a speed of 54 km/h against a deformable barrier.

They say, of course, that both the quality and the level of safety are increasing, but they are reluctant to test it on themselves and their loved ones. Walk through the forest, dear UAZ drivers, be careful, don’t stumble.

I'll continue. I fell victim to advertising. Saw in mall Hover H3, I asked the price, so what! (yes, exactly with exclamation point) you can also take H5. I looked at the website, went into the salon, sat and felt it. During the test drive, the manager didn’t let me drive, it was weird, but then I didn’t regret it) I wouldn’t do that to the car myself.

Don't take cars for a test drive! The salon is in an industrial zone, off-road is just a stone's throw away. And we set out on a painfully familiar route, along which I, in my Astra, when I went to the garage, couldn’t accelerate faster than 5-10 km/h, but the smooth guys in tired Zhigulis fly 20-30 km/h.

The decision to take it came to me when we were quietly and comfortably, trying not to fly out of our seats, flying along this “road”, worn out by generations of dump trucks, at a speed of 75-80 km/h. At home I looked at crash test records: I think I had less chances in the Astra, if anything.

Impression

A couple of weeks later the relationship was formalized. Received: black Great Wall Hover H5, frame, gasoline, 2.4, 136 hp. (this is a murky moment, how many “horses” are there - a philosophical question, someone writes that 126 or 124) Manual transmission-5, rear drive, hard-wired front, lowering, ABS, EBD, front airbags, climate control, CD / DVD / bluetooth, something else, multimedia system(good pleasant sound) with a touchscreen that glares in the sun, on which a picture from a color camera is displayed.

There are also USB, AUX, rain and light sensors, rear parking sensors, multifunction steering wheel with sound and telephone controls, good PTF, and not like some, just for show, leather interior, heated mirrors, electric driver's seat, warmers.

Extras: signaling, black wheels, running boards, crankcase and transfer case protection, fender liners and floor mats for the interior and trunk.

For all 780,000 rubles and the order of the technicians, after 1,800 km (possibly earlier, but not later) to come to the MOT to tighten the head. Then I read a lot of negativity that, they say, the gasket breaks and mixes antifreeze with oil, that the cylinder head was not supplied from the factory. Maybe they were not warned at the time of purchase that they would have to wait?

Great Wall Hover H5 inside and out. I like him. Somebody says that head optics looks like a Mazda CX-7. I express my reserved agreement on this matter - maybe it’s similar. In general, the Chinese have learned to make cars that you can look at without shuddering.

I understand that now there will be a lot of disagreements, but sometimes I can’t decide for myself what I like more than the H5 or the Prado 150. This Prado is very scary). It is assembled well, the body is galvanized (I am ready to discuss this point later, it was a sad experience), the gaps in some places are not the smallest, but uniform. The only negative is the closure back door, you have to clap, be healthy, and on the hinge of the lock you can see traces of rather diligent hammering.

The inside of the Hover H5 is no frills, but it is made to the envy of many. The gaps are like in the best houses, there are no crickets, the leather seems to be leather, not eco-leatherette, although I am sure that is it).

I touched the plastic, it’s hard, you don’t have to love it for that, but I don’t care. There is more than enough space in all directions, niches, drawers - everything is there. The trunk too, be healthy, but back row folds up to form a small step.

The steering wheel is not adjustable for reach, but with my height of 182 cm, I sat down immediately and comfortably, although I would like this adjustment, of course, and for the pedals to also be adjustable, but for me it’s like with a night camera).

The instruments are easy to read, which cannot be said about the touchscreen; there is glare, although this problem is typical for many cars. Controlling secondary functions in Hover is not an example of ergonomics, but oh well, I set the climate in auto mode to 22 degrees and forgot, I forgot the disks at home, so there’s nothing to control there, and it’s not clear how to set up the radio. It reads and plays everything from the flash drive perfectly, no questions asked.

I must note that this whole facility looks good, but it’s noticeable that the designers didn’t put much effort into it.

Hover H5 in the city and on the highway. First of all, I appreciated the suspension. Of course, I will never take it for a test drive, but it goes great on our rough roads, swallowing everything. The roads immediately became better).

The engine is enough to keep up in city traffic, the gear ratios are chosen well: 65-75 km/h in third gear, if you push it, then in fourth at 95-100 km/h the tachometer shows approximately 2,500 rpm, for this engine - just right .

But it's better to start getting acquainted with dynamic characteristics from the brake pedal - this is not a C-class sedan. It’s the same when cornering: there is roll, but there is no feeling of “fluffiness”; it’s elastic, but the mass of the car makes itself felt.

On the highway, the most comfortable speed for me is 110-130 km/h. Although I noticed that this happens on any machine. It’s quiet in the cabin, the wind doesn’t howl, the tires don’t make noise, you can’t hear the transfer case, sometimes I don’t even turn on the music (I just forget to put the discs in, and I haven’t figured out the radio, although I haven’t figured out the radio in any car yet).

There is a reserve of power for overtaking trucks, although here you have to be honest: the Hover H5 with a 2.4 engine is far from a car, overtaking needs to be calculated, in fifth it can’t always pull out as you want, you have to switch to fourth, and at 4,000 rpm The engine becomes audible, and serenity leaves me.

A diesel engine can solve the problem, but my father’s acquaintance ended up with more than 200,000 rubles in repairs because of our solarium, although he has been riding diesel engines for several years and is experienced.

But let's return to the city. Drive the Hover H5 in the city, in narrow, cramped yards, in parking lots, etc. quite convenient, I thought it would be worse. The mirrors are large and comfortable; without straining or changing the adjustment, I can see where the curbs are below. The camera, of course, helps to prevent you from driving anywhere astern, and together with the parking sensors, you get an abundance of information.

The only thing I want, well, since things like this have started, is a graphical display of information from the parking sensors and a camera with markings and a night mode. Why - I have no idea, all my life I was content with just mirrors and everything is fine, not counting that incident in the parking lot when I scratched the bumper, but you have to want something, so that you have something to strive for).

Great Wall Hover N5 off-road. I had to check it once, but it was pretty serious. It was necessary to pick up the man from the farm and take him in a lying position to the city. It rained for more than a week, the night before the trip too, but the route was simple: a couple of kilometers of concrete, then four kilometers of dirt road through the fields, then go down to the farm and back.

I walked along the concrete road, remembering the test drive, but slower - it was a blast! I stopped before the primer and turned it on four-wheel drive and pop. The dirt road turned into a natural swamp, in some places in the lowlands it flowed from the fields and the native black soil instantly covered the wheels with a thick layer.

I was driving slowly in first gear, somewhere sideways, once my fellow travelers said: that’s it, we’ve arrived, and the Hover H5 slowly but surely walked towards the goal. In some places I plunged into the slurry along the thresholds, I don’t know how I didn’t sit on the bottom.

I practically slid into the farmstead on a cushion of mud (slope of 30 degrees), and as soon as I got into a rut, I drove off. While we were packing, while we were loading, I cleaned the tires as best I could and drove out at a reduced speed, a couple of times with a negative (rolled down) speed, until I reached something solid.

The return journey after that was no longer scary, I was sure: Hover H5 would pass! And he passed. With pleasant music, without raising the speed above 2,800 rpm, without howling, roaring, maintaining comfortable temperature in the cabin. Otherwise the person would have died, sure as hell.

Flaws

The Great Wall Hover H5 is a fairly maneuverable car, but there is a complaint about the steering: it feels like almost four turns from lock to lock and it’s not enough feedback. And although you can really turn the steering wheel with one finger, you want more “elasticity”. In general, mixed feelings. The 5-speed manual transmission is well matched gear ratios, but don't like the way it works. I don’t really care that the lever shakes at idle, but the gears actually engage somehow, I don’t know how. When I drove the Passat, I didn’t think about the fact that the operation of the gearbox could cause any feelings (now I’m just enjoying myself on the Golf 7). Then, on Example P12, I noticed that turning on / off the gear is accompanied by a rather straining effort - a slight movement of the hand is no longer enough, in Hover everything is worse. The gears are switched on somehow unclearly, i.e. by desired transmission You won’t miss, but the sensations remain. Switching from first to third generally occurs in two stages, perhaps without re-throttle. Although, perhaps I’m being picky, after the Niva everything is great) But if you tried to drive a good car... Well, you understand me.

Bottom line

This is what it is - a miracle Chinese auto industry. And he will get through where not everyone can. It's fine in the city and on the highway. The Gret Wall Hover H5 is well equipped, and for its price it’s simply great. It would have a normal engine and an overall great car.

Father's car. Bought in March 2013 in Tyumen. Price 785,000 rub. Thresholds 12,000 rubles, trailed with electronics unit (LED lights) 15,000 rubles. Frame SUV 1850 kg curb weight. The first run still without numbers Tyumen - Tobolsk. Before that, my father drove a 5-door Niva. Regarding the comparison, we noticed... it’s very quiet in the cabin, there are no vibrations, hums or noises, and at speeds of 90-120 km/h. Among the nice things... there is air conditioning, ABS, power steering, 4 electric windows, heated electric mirrors, rear view camera, electric drive driver's seat, pseudo leather interior, electrically controlled transfer case, multimedia MP3, usb, bluetooth, steering wheel controls, interior lighting, footlights, thresholds, light and rain sensors, parking sensors.

Definitely one of the minuses: very long transmission gears!!! Already in second gear at 3000 rpm it goes 55 km per hour!! in 3rd gear at 3000 rpm it goes 85 km per hour... First gear is also long... With such stretched gears there is simply no dynamics... When you turn the engine up to 3000 it seems like it will go right now... but no... no pickup... on the contrary, after 3500 the engine turns sour and simply roars and does not spin up... Bottom line... the gearbox shifts are ideal, there is no noise from it... but the gears are selected as if there were 300 hp. Another minus is the engine... it's 2.4 liters with 126 hp. according to PTS.. yes yes.. not 136 in the passport, but 126!! This Chinese copy Mitsubishi engine, which was installed on Outlanders, in Japan there was about 167 hp. The Chinese derated it by reducing the compression ratio and installed a simple intake without changing the geometry. Like because we have here bad gasoline..complete nonsense. As a result, the engine is weak, there is no sharpness and throttle response, the torque already decreases after 3500 rpm... and the power hasn’t even increased... in short, it’s cotton wool... I change to a Priora and feel like racing car. Motor with timing belt- this is also a minus.

The car comes with spare parts to Russia from China...then it is assembled at some Gzhel plant near Moscow. There was only one complaint about the quality and workmanship, when when my father tried to open the car using the key fob, the key fob remained stupidly silent. He opened it, as he says, with the key. The alarm did not work (built-in). The engine started... but almost all the electrics did not work. He asked me to determine the problem, first of all I checked the fuses, there were few of them and they turned out to be intact, then, without thinking of anything, I decided to reset the battery terminal. After about five minutes we installed the terminal and everything worked. This never happened again.

We tried the car off-road a couple of times. The UAZ and Niv Hover are not included in the rut. Standard tires More highway than off-road, but even on it the car behaves decently. The front is turned on with a button and the electrician connects it in 5-7 seconds. The reduced mode is also activated by the button in 5-7 seconds, but only after a complete stop. And the main disadvantage... reduced without front axle won't turn on!! On the Niva you can turn on the lower gear even with the center differential unlocked... Which is very convenient. And on the Hover, just to drive slowly over dry bumps, you have to engage the front end, only then lower it.

And the overall result: it’s very pleasant to ride so high and in silence. The bumps in the city are not felt at all; I can pass speed bumps at 50 km per hour. The suspension is impenetrable. After a trip behind the wheel to pick mushrooms with my parents, I change into my Priora and drive to my home as if in some kind of basin (everything rattles and knocks). My father calls my Priora a frying pan))) How long ago did you move from Niva?))))

Japanese gasoline engines 4G63S4M, 4G64S4M, 4G69S4N, installed on Mitsubishi, have found their application on Hover. Diesel GW4D20 engine own development, as well as the transmission. The advantages and disadvantages of this machine are quite subjective. “What is good for a German is death for a Russian.” For those who are used to driving with the breeze, the Hover is clearly not suitable. Well, it doesn't accelerate, no sufficient power, rather weak.

But is this characteristic a disadvantage? We will look for the answer in the operating and maintenance instructions, where it is stated that maximum speed for gasoline it is 100 km/h, and for diesel it is 90 km/h. So needless to say, it doesn’t work. He who is forewarned is forearmed. The frame design of an SUV with an engine capacity of 2.0 and 2.4 does not provide for cross-country racing.

The transmission of our own production is designed to work in tandem with the engine. When trying to overclock and ask for more Horse power than it is, the gearbox experiences serious loads, which leads to premature wear, both the box itself and the power unit. During commissioning new Great Wall Hover must comply with the break-in regime, which is 1000 km for gasoline 4G63S4M, 4G64S4M, 4G69S4N, and 1500 km for diesel GW4D20. The same requirement applies to engines that have passed major renovation. When turning on all-wheel drive permissible speed movement is: 4H-40 km/h, 4L-30 km/h. However, the use of 4WD is only allowed on slippery road and in a straight line. Failure to comply and ignorance of these rules leads to problems in the gearbox, axles and transfer case.

The life of the Hover engine and transmission can be increased

To increase service life and resource, it is necessary to follow the maintenance regulations and operating rules:

  • Observe the speed limit.
  • Check the oil level daily.
  • Change the engine oil every 8,000 km. mileage
  • IN winter time start driving after warming up.
  • Do not operate diesel engine Idle for more than 20 minutes, avoid traffic jams.
  • Use only high-quality fuel.
  • After long trips Do not turn off immediately, let it cool with the engine running.
  • Do not use the machine to transport heavy items.

All rules are stated in the instruction manual. And unfortunately, some of them are simply impossible to implement due to subjective and objective reasons.

You can extend your life with tribological compositions RVS Master. Due to its properties and operating principle, which is based on chemical reaction replacing iron atoms with magnesium atoms, they are rightly called repair and restoration compounds. The reaction is possible only if: cast iron block– for the engine from which Hover is made; ferrous metals used in the manufacture of bearings, gears and transmission shafts. As a result of the use of the tribotechnical composition RVS-Master, a metal-ceramic layer is formed on friction surfaces that are subject to wear. And this is not a temporary film, as is the case with oil additives. In addition, it does not require constant presence in the oil. One or two treatments are sufficient, depending on the degree of wear, to increase the service life to 120 thousand km. mileage Repair and restoration compositions allow:

  • Restore compression
  • Reduce oil consumption
  • Increase power and throttle response
  • Stabilize work idle move
  • Restore the contact patch on the gear teeth
  • Protect against wear
  • Make it easier to start in cold weather
  • Reduce noise and vibration levels in both the engine and transmission
  • Easy and smooth gear shifting without “kicks” or bumps

The capabilities of tribological compositions are determined by the characteristics of the newly formed metal-ceramic layer, which has an anomalous low coefficient friction, resistant to shock loads and plastic, protects against oxidation and corrosion. As the layer wears out, it can be restored by repeated treatments.

For gasoline engines 4G63S4M, 4G64S4M, 4G69S4N, a composition designed for 4 liters of oil is suitable.

For diesel GW4D20 - a composition designed for 6 liters of oil.

Despite the fact that the volume transmission oil in the gearbox - 3.0 l., front axle - 1.8 l., in the rear axle - 2.7 l., we recommend using the above compounds.

Great Wall Hover fuel and consumption.

It is recommended to use gasoline not lower than AI-93 and diesel fuel only good quality. Such requirements are specified in technical specifications car. Using low octane fuel and cetane number leads to detonation, the power of already low-torque engines is reduced, and consumption increases. In addition, the content of impurities in low-quality fuel speeds up the process mechanical wear power unit parts. The GW4D20, which is equipped with a common rail injection system, is especially sensitive.

Using diesel fuel Low quality leads to incomplete combustion, which in turn makes it difficult to start a diesel engine in cold weather, the formation of carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, on rings and injectors, and as a result the appearance of black smoke from exhaust pipe. The high sulfur content in diesel fuel, together with condensate, forms sulfuric acid, which causes chemical corrosion of the cylinder walls Hover engine and pistons. Ultimately, the above reasons lead to failure fuel pump, fittings, and himself power unit.

For gasoline 4G63S4M, 4G64S4M, 4G69S4N

For diesel GW4D20

Their use allows:

  • Restore spray pattern
  • Normalize idle speed
  • Eliminate dips and jerks during acceleration
  • Normalize acceleration dynamics
  • Reduce consumption
  • Compensate for absence lubricants in fuel
  • Clean carbon deposits from the injector
  • Restore pressure in the line

The compositions do not contain chemical solvents and do not lift dirt from the tank, do not change the composition and properties of the fuel.

Gur on Hover H3 and H5

The operating principle and maintenance are no different from hydraulic boosters of other car brands. But the quality of the assembly and seals leaves much to be desired. In case of leakage and fluid leakage through seals and oil seals, which can occur on a new car, it may be enough to cause the power steering pump to whistle and hum. What to do if warranty repairs refused? Timely use to restore the power steering pump will allow you to restore the linear dimensions of the parts, reduce the gaps on the friction pairs, as a result, eliminate the hum and howl, and make the steering light.

Repair and restoration compounds – new technology under repair, reliable protection from wear and increase the service life of units and machines.

The car can be equipped with either a gasoline or diesel power unit. In the first case, the engine has a volume of 2.4 liters and a power of 136 hp. (at 5000 rpm). The maximum torque is 205 N.m (at 2500-3000 rpm). Diesel engine - 2 liters with a power of 150 hp. (at 4000 rpm). The maximum torque is 310 N.m (with 1800-2800 rpm). The gasoline power unit is equipped with manual transmission gear shift, diesel - manual or automatic.

Great Wall Hover H5 looks great on city roads thanks to modern design. Its chrome parts and cast wheel disks they sparkle effectively in the sun, and the slightly rough lines of the body give the car’s appearance masculinity and solidity. If you get out of the asphalt, the hard one comes into play. frame body, able to withstand any load, reliable suspension and a permanent all-wheel drive system with reduction gearing.

The SUV is equipped with options such as: leather seat upholstery, seventeen-inch alloy wheels, driver's front airbags and front passenger, anti-lock braking system with distribution function braking forces, climate control, electric driver's seat adjustment mechanisms, power steering, electric drive and heated rear view mirrors, multimedia system with support for CD/MP3/MP4/DVD formats.

Full-scale assembly began in 2011 Great SUVs Wall Hover H5 at the plant in the city of Gzhel. We will talk about them

The first public appearance of Great Wall Hover took place in 2005. Assembled in the image and likeness of Isuzu Axiom and with licensed Mitsubishi units, the SUV looked attractive enough to find its admirers not only in its homeland. In Russia, in fact, it was Hover that at one time was able to provide some competition Russian SUVs, being also noticeably better equipped. The only thing that upset Great Wall customers was the unstable quality of assembly and components, disgusting service and the lack of a spare parts warehouse. In addition to China, Hover was assembled for some time in Cherkessk at Derways factory, in the Far East and, after a slight hitch during the 2008 crisis, in Gzhel. During this time, Hover simply changed to Hover H3 and on October 5, 2011 it was supplemented by our hero - Hover H5. This year there was a slight restyling, so we will talk about, so to speak, the pre-restyling H5.

NOT EVERYTHING IS GOLD THAT RUMRS

Great Wall Hover H5 buyers are a fairly monolithic contingent. Men, as a rule, are middle-aged and older, strong-armed, educated, have families and love to relax outside the city. Women, of whom there are a surprising number of H5 drivers, appreciate the Hover for its solidity, sense of security and good comfort. To all this it is worth adding that the Hover H5 is often the first SUV in the family after cars. The sales geography is also wide. Both in the Caucasus and Karelia you can find a characteristic streamlined silhouette.

During the entire production period, the Hover H5 was equipped with two engines - gasoline and diesel. Basic, basic and most suitable motor should be called a licensed copy of the Mitsubishi 4G64 Sirius series, which produced 128 hp. With. with a volume of 2.4 liters, it consumed AI-92 and did not have any serious problems.

The 2.0 liter diesel engine was developed by Chinese mechanics in collaboration with foreign ones. Turbodiesel with fuel circuit common rail develops 150 hp. With. and 310 Nm of torque. The engine is unique... It pulls well only with an “open” turbine, but it can easily consume 13–14 liters of fuel per hundred. At cruising highway speeds it is quite economical and fits into 8 liters.

Diesel cars, by the way, are imported from China, from the plant in Baoding, the birthplace of Great Wall. It is this diesel engine that can become a real headache, toothache and other pain for the owner. The problem lies in the fuel. No matter how much you install filters, no matter how you choose gas stations, you may still be unlucky. Then by 60,000–70,000 km diesel Hover starts reluctantly in the morning. Instead of 1–1.5 seconds of rotation of the starter, it takes 3–4... And more than once... This is the first symptom that the injectors are not operating normally. Flushing doesn't help, it needs replacement, but they haven't learned how to do repairs yet. Now, pay attention! New injector for diesel Great engine Wall Hover H5 costs... RUB 26,000! One!

On this, in fact, we can finish the story about diesel version, but since they still take them, let’s add a little more tar. There is a stream of cars coming to the services to replace the block head. Moreover, for one gasoline engine there are 10 diesel engines. It all starts with deterioration in cooling, then the stove stops producing heat, then the head starts to operate. Symptoms indicate airing of the system. Cause? Disgusting quality of gasket. The head costs 70,000 rubles. out of employment.

Petrol. The licensed version of the Sirius motor from MMC is already two hundred years old.
It fits Hover perfectly and should be taken

But that's not all. The cooling system is made in such a way that it is almost impossible to expel air from it. Previously, the owner was given one and a half liters of antifreeze and told: go home, add it yourself... If the poor fellow does not come for the next head replacement within a month or two, he is lucky: he was careful. Repairing the heads is practically useless. When overheated, microcracks appear in them, which can cause antifreeze to get into the oil, into the cylinders, anywhere. The fourth cylinder is the first to suffer...

Ancient against the backdrop of diesel gasoline engine looks like Belgium against the backdrop of Chechnya. Quietly, without pathos, democratically, economically and sensibly. There are also overheats, and oil rushes out from under the filter, but, you see, these are such charming little things! By the way, unlike a diesel engine, a gasoline engine can be serviced and repaired yourself or at any more or less decent service center.

Owner's opinion:Anton, GW Hover H5 2.4 MT 2012
Changed mine Hyundai Sonata on a 2012 Hover H5 last summer, paying only
200,000 rub. I immediately lifted it, threw the spare tire onto the roof, and put the gas under the bumper. Now I have one and a half thousand kilometers of autonomous range. I traveled halfway across the country in a year, which is why I bought the car. Serious damage there weren’t any, they only took out burnt-out light bulbs, until they taught me how to start the engine by turning off the lights. The power surge at startup kills even Bosch. I regret that my car doesn’t have an automatic transmission; they say it’s reliable.

BETWEEN THE LINES

About half Great owners Wall Hover H5 regularly drive off the asphalt. About every fourth person “makes his car look beautiful,” in the sense of lifting it. Moreover, even with an authorized service it will not be expensive at all and will have almost no effect on the warranty. By the way, since we are talking about the manufacturer’s obligations, it should be noted that, firstly, Great Wall is represented by the Irito company, with which you will be suing. And secondly, serious problems It’s impossible to decide without a trial - the warranty is so tightly wound that the only case covered by the warranty is when the car’s frame breaks in half right in the showroom. Failure of the power window control unit is not covered by warranty, and breakdown of the wiper mechanism is also not covered. The crosspieces, the all-wheel drive connection mechanism, the catalyst, the clutch are themselves to blame. Fuel system- bad gasoline... There were cars with a hole in internal CV joint. Yes, you guessed it right. Dealers change at their own expense if the client is persistent. Is the chrome peeling? Not to us! Moreover, buyers, as a rule, are not lawyers, and in general are more often romantics and gullible, otherwise they would not have looked at the “Chinese”. Obligations are not read, relying on Chinese honesty. Well, yes, they shoot for corruption! But there are not fewer corrupt officials...

Baggage. “Chinese” is suitable if you don’t need to carry a long one,
fragile and heavy – the seats recline with a step

But let's not talk about sad things. In the end, everyone has problems, but the Great Wall Hover H5 is still quite reliable car. Let's say the chassis calmly takes care of any of our roads, up to 60,000–70,000 km without bothering the owner. Then the lower ball joints may require replacement - 9,000 rubles. for a couple with work. Expensive because you have to take it apart rounded fist. Then the crosspieces may begin to tap. For some reason, out of the three, only one is equipped with an oiler. During heavy use in mud, it is important to pay attention to the condition of the joint covers of the front axle axle shafts. They are made from not the most durable material. Somewhere around 100,000 km the clutch “runs out”. This mileage is very approximate, since in reality it depends solely on the owner. Very reliable automatic boxes transmission There was a case when the box arrived for service without any oil at all - and nothing survived.

Passengers. There is a lot of space in the second row of seats, but the floor is high

ELEVATOR UP

The standard version of the Hover H5 does not shine with cross-country ability. The low front suspension subframe and the cross member to which the transmission is attached spoil everything. After the lift, it is possible to install 31/10.5 wheels, which allows Hover to compete with, say, UAZ Patriot. For wheels larger than 32 inches, it is necessary not only to lift the suspension, but also to cut the body with arches. In principle, the chassis is strong enough, and even if the main pairs are replaced, the transmission can withstand it.

A basic 40 mm lift can be made for 40,000 rubles. with a job at a dealership. It includes long-stroke shock absorbers, reinforced stabilizer links, longer rear springs. The torsion bars are tightened at the front, and to ensure normal operating angles of the CV joints, the subframe with the gearbox is lowered on washers. Ground clearance becomes 240 mm taking into account big wheels, which makes it possible to use the car as a tourist. At least the GWHover club is very actively involved in all sorts of rides.

Off-road, in addition to the usual troubles with the clutch, bodywork and CV joint boots, the owner may have trouble connecting the front end. Actuating mechanism not too sealed and, as a rule, does not survive the ingress of water and dirt. In addition, if you skid without engaging all-wheel drive in advance, it will not turn on, since the front wheels also need to turn in order to avoid shock loads. What if the car doesn't move? Sometimes they put a button for forced operation of the mechanism, which helps out in such a situation.

You may be under the impression that the Great Wall Hover H5 is only suitable for trips to the market for spare parts... This is, of course, not the case. The entire line of Great Wall SUVs are good expeditioners. I myself have traveled the length and breadth of the Russian North-West and Scandinavia on Wingle, Hover H3 and H5. These cars did not bring me any other emotions than positive ones. Well, except that the driver's seat in SUVs is a bit short and the airbag is set too low. Otherwise everything is fine. In the end, the Hover H5 is one of those cars that is completely dependent on its owner, and if you treat it carefully, it will last a long time. No wonder Confucius said: “A restrained person has fewer mistakes!”
