7 seater Santa Fe. New SANTA FE. Options and prices Santa Fe IV

Hyundai Grand Santa Fe belongs to the segment of large 7-seater crossovers. This is the same Hyundai Santa Fe, to which 10 cm of length have been added. It has been sold in Russia since 2013. In general, this is not so much an SUV as a large family car for comfortable and dynamic driving on the highway.

Interior

The car interior fully corresponds to the premium segment. There are no traces of cheap finishing materials - only expensive plastic is used, everything is done stylishly and with restraint, the ergonomics are thought out thoroughly.

The dashboard is visually divided into several parts, the driver’s “workplace” is organized impeccably, the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel fits comfortably in the hands, the instrument panel is instantly readable, and the center console is not overloaded with keys, as in other models. Some of them are taken out and are located near the gearbox selector.

The 7-seat cabin guarantees maximum comfort. The 3rd row of seats is not the most spacious, but teenagers will ride there without problems, and the split seats in the 2nd row will provide the highest comfort.

Characteristics

Options

The Hyundai Grand Santa Fe has very rich equipment. Only possible configuration High-Tech has a “full stuffing” in terms of safety, a panoramic roof, leather interior, dual-zone climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, navigation, bi-xenon and many other options.

Hi all. So, a review of the 2nd generation Hyundai Santa Fe. Immediately in terms of consumption: Moscow city from 15 to 18, highway 11-13.5, depending on how you heat it. I purchased my tank at the beginning of 2018 on February 5 in Moscow. My brother has a second Lada Vesta, so, actually, initially the choice was between new Vesta and used Santa Fe.

Santa Fe won. Firstly, because I like him better. Secondly, if you look into the future, I bought a new Vesta for 650 thousand, you won’t sell it for the same amount later. In the case of Santa Fe, there is an opportunity to sell for even more.

By the way, I paid either 650 or 660 for it, but no more. Thirdly, all-wheel drive, leather, sunroof, xenon. Accordingly, before purchasing I read reviews that it is not very susceptible to corrosion.

Impression

Most importantly, I was worried whether I would feed him or not; I read in reviews that he eats no more than 15 liters. In my case, 15-18 liters per hundred, yes, Moscow has traffic jams. I myself am from Omsk, and so, in Omsk the figure has decreased to 13 liters in the city.

I drove it from February to August and covered 16,000 km, not bad, yes. This is around Moscow, then a trip home to Omsk, then to Kazakhstan and back to Omsk. During this time, he never let me down; in fact, he started me up at any time of the day or night and went even to the ends of the earth.

I am very pleased and proud of this tank. From a story on vacation in Kazakhstan. In front of the lake, everyone leaves their cars by the road, then walks about 250 meters to the beach. There is sand near the beach, and closer to the middle there is crushed stone with sand.

That year, my brother tried to drive an Audi A4 all the way to the beach and got stuck. With grief, the Mitsubishi Pajero pulled it out. It was difficult to pull it out, since there is a slope towards the beach, we also helped push it with our hands. This year they didn’t take any risks, but stood by the road like all normal people.

Then we see this picture: Kia Sorento(classmate of Santa Fe) class of 2013, or 14 got stuck in the middle between the lake and the road (250 meters) on sand mixed with rubble, did not fall through and could not go uphill. In general, they pushed me out in my arms. Then I thought, if Sorento couldn’t get through here, then there’s no point in bothering me. On the Sorento I noticed the inscription is not 4WD, but AWD. And yet I decided to take a risk.

The brother says: “In any case, you will also climb and you will have to suffer to pull it out.” And imagine our surprise when my tank easily made circles there, scattered sand and drove along calmly. Yes, I was very happy about this test, and that the tank did not disappoint. But I can’t understand why Sorento couldn’t do it.

Afterwards we began to pull out and tow everyone who was stuck. The tank may be rushing, but while fishing, it got into the mud, got stuck, and then got out on its own. Of course, this is not an SUV, but still all-wheel drive.

I rode from Moscow to Omsk with pleasure, and long distances were a pleasure. It happened that you were driving along the highway, there was a truck in front, followed by 3-4 cars. They can’t overtake a truck, they get out one at a time, it’s difficult to overtake, but on Santa you can easily do both cars and trucks at the same time. Of course, everything is in accordance with traffic regulations, and when overtaking, you notify your downstream neighbors with a signal, without interfering with oncoming traffic.

Driving experience is, of course, also necessary. I don’t encourage you to be fools like me (laughter). Santa Fe accelerates very quickly in the city, and on the highway it is quite sufficient. Parking is easy, high up, everything is visible, the rear mirrors are large, plus parking sensors, although I don’t really need them, I just feel the dimensions well. I calmly park on the Gazelle using the mirrors (I brag).

I wrote above about xenon. Of course, it is not factory, one of the previous owners stirred it up. It shines beautifully. Xenon in fog lights and low beam. The rear seats fold flat and create a lot of space. Somehow I was transporting tools in drawers, a heated towel rail, a toilet and a washing machine, and there was still a lot of space left; I could easily squeeze in another washing machine.

One thing irritated me, or rather the door position locks. When opening you have to hold the door; it does not lock in one position. Compared to Audi, there was no such problem there. I opened the door even on a slope, and it didn’t slam shut until you closed it yourself. Maybe it’s just me that they got caught up in the Santa Fe. I didn’t study this topic because I had no time.

I didn’t hang out on the forums much, since the car didn’t break down and there were no questions. Gasoline 2.7 automatic 4 speed 4WD fully equipped. I recommend it, but don't forget to check the flaps in the intake manifold. Even if you already have Santafe 2.7, urgently, don’t be lazy, don’t spare money, check, disassemble, put the bolts on the thread lock and, even better, screw up the threads so that they don’t come out at all.

Oh, more about the configuration. My brother also has a Santa, a 2012 fabric interior. Sound insulation is not very good, the interior creaks, there is no cruise. I'm okay with these.

Before purchasing, I first checked for thefts and liens, and, of course, inspected the car first. We took it for diagnostics. Result: one door was tinted and the technician’s recommendation was to change the front ones brake discs. Well, I myself, in principle, saw this. The main thing is that the engine, automatic transmission and body were in good condition.

I only changed the oil, filter and pads. I installed the pads and bought them in front for 2500. I bought 1300 for the rear ones, some Japanese ones.

Paradox in Omsk: it’s time to change marker lamps front and xenon, so I had a hard time finding the side ones. One small one costs 290 rubles, while a xenon one costs 250 rubles. Now I own the car younger brother, but this is for now (he had an Audi A4 2 liter 2006, the car is good, but the engine is a mess, then the belt breaks, then the teeth jump. And one more time the brakes just disappeared, thank God, I didn’t crash anywhere, I just stunned, to put it mildly).

Presence of problems

Now I will tell you about a marketing conspiracy. It consists in selling spare parts or a new car due to the breakdown of the old one. There are dampers in the intake manifold, six of them for each cylinder, and each damper is held in place by two small bolts with a grommet. So, over time, due to vibration, these bolts unscrew and fall into the cylinders, and a very terrible, heartbreaking knock appears, and panic, you think that’s it, the end has come for the engine. But no. Where it all started. We are returning from fishing in the dark. I was walking at approximately 130 km/h and, seeing a wave on the road ahead, I slowed down, but still the rear part tossed up, and a strange noise and knock immediately appeared. I thought there was something wrong with the chassis, I stopped, opened the door, and there was a knocking noise from the engine. I don’t understand what happened. After about 70 km, my brother pulled me into the city on Vesta, although one of the cables was broken. When I got home, I started researching on the Internet to see who had something similar happen to them. And yes, these are the same bolts from the dampers. One person writes that he drove 40 thousand with such a knock, then he decided to repair it, and they found these bolts on him, and replaced the piston one. Someone, having learned about such a problem, disassembled the intake manifold, and saw such a picture that the dampers were unscrewed, but there were no bolts at all. Well, let's get back to our problem. Having disassembled the collector, we discovered that two bolts and groovers were missing. I didn’t want to disassemble the heads at all to find the bolts. To begin with, we decided to buy a Chinese endoscope for 1,200 rubles, complete with nozzle, hook and magnet. So, with this small camera they climbed into the cylinders, having first removed the spark plugs. We found the bolts and groovers all broken. It took a long time to get it out using the magnet on the camera, but, thank God, we got it all out and everything turned out okay. We collected everything in place. I screwed these unfortunate bolts onto the thread lock, and with reverse side I spoiled the threads so that they wouldn’t come out at all. Afterwards we assembled the engine and there were no problems: no sound, no knocking - everything was as before. I went to the highway, accelerated to 180 - it runs fine, everything is as before. This is what I call a marketing conspiracy, what do you think these engineers screwed up like that? No, I highly doubt it. This problem can be classified as a disadvantage. But it is solvable and even, I would say, easily solvable. There were no scratches - everything was normal.

Bottom line

I sold it to my brother Santa Fe because I urgently needed money. The main thing is that everyone in our family likes the car. Even the West driver rides it to the village through the mud with a happy face. I miss my tank, in the future we plan to install a modern gas pump on it (Vesta already has a gas pump, it fills it with 1,000 rubles a week and goes for a ride). Good roads and good cars to everyone.

Price: from 2,049,000 rub.

Hyundai Santa Fe is a popular crossover in Russia and all over the world, so in order to maintain sales levels, the Koreans decided to change it to the fourth. The first performance took place in 2018 in February in the city of Goyang. The show for the global market took place in March in Geneva.

There are a lot of changes, the review will take a long time. The car has already appeared on the Russian market, so a review of the crossover is simply necessary.

Appearance

The design of the car has changed dramatically, it is adjusted to the new style of the company, for example, the muzzle is very similar to.

The front end attracts the eye with a new radiator grille framed by a thick chrome insert at the top. Above the chrome there is a narrow LED optics installed in the database. These are not headlights, but only daytime running lights, the headlights are located on the bumper. On the bumper, to the left and to the right of the radiator grille, we see three lights - these are the low beam, high beam and turn signal. At the very bottom of the bumper you can already see the fog lights.

The profile of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2018-2019 has changed its silhouette, becoming faster. There are many sharp transitions along the lines, there are expansions and bevels, this is especially noticeable in the upper part at the back. There, the relief line connects with the rear headlights, thereby forming between the C-pillar a double extension of the wheel arch. Chrome is fashionable, it’s everywhere, even on the sides: door handles, glass trim and roof rails.

Looking at the photo, it seems that the back has not changed much, but after watching the video at the bottom of the page, all the innovations are immediately visible. The rear is equated with Infinity style, while the headlights are associated with. New narrow diode headlights are installed at the rear; diode headlights are optional. At the top there is a huge anti-wing, plus a decorative one is located above the optics. The headlights are connected by a chrome line, and the trunk lid is electrically operated.

The 5-door crossover Hyundai Santa Fe has significantly increased in size:

  • length – 4770 mm;
  • width – 1890 mm;
  • height – 1680 mm;
  • wheelbase – 2765 mm;
  • ground clearance - 185 mm.

It is impossible to personalize the appearance of a future purchase; you can only choose colors, each costing 15,000 rubles. Color options:

  • white – basic;
  • red-orange;
  • red;
  • Navy blue;
  • black;
  • metallic gray;
  • dark gray metallic;
  • gray-green metallic;
  • dark green metallic;
  • silver bronze metallic.

New salon

The interior of the crossover has been greatly changed; of course, it immediately betrays the manufacturer’s style, but there is nothing wrong with that. The upholstery material in the base is fabric, but in the next configuration leather appears, the color of which can be chosen: black, beige, gray.

The front seats are upholstered in leather, electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated in the top. The detailing of the upholstery and the entire interior is enclosed in diamonds, they are also visible on the speaker grilles, floor mats, etc. Electric adjustment is complemented by a retractable pillow.

The back row of the Santa Fe 2018-2019 received the same trim; there was more space due to the lengthening of the crossover size. There is a button for 2-level seat heating on the armrests, and there are curtains for the windows. In the center there are two USB ports for charging a smartphone, plus a 220V socket has been added.

The buttons on the side of the front passenger seat look unusual for this class. With these buttons, the rear passenger can move front seat forward or fold it. This solution is usually used in premium sedans.

The Asian style of the dashboard won't appeal to everyone, plus it's a little ahead of its time. The upper part of the dashboard is 2-level, covered with leather, unlike the lower part. The connection between the dashboard and the door trim looks stylish. The center console evokes different impressions, yes, the manufacturer installed an 8-inch multimedia touch display separately - something that Mercedes does, but it also had buttons on it and it looks dubious. Multimedia Hyundai Santa Fe 2018-2019 supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interface.

The climate controls are highlighted by a chrome insert, these are buttons, two washers and a monitor that displays data. At the transition to the tunnel there is a port for charging a smartphone and a place with wireless charging. The tunnel has a large gear selector, behind which there are buttons for driving modes, electronic parking brake and all-round visibility. There are two cup holders on the right side of the tunnels.

An optional Krell audio system with 9 speakers, a subwoofer and an amplifier is installed.

Driver's seat

The pilot gets a thick, leather, 3-spoke steering wheel with one chrome-plated spoke and car control buttons. The column is adjustable in height and reach, and is heated.

Before your eyes is the dashboard - a 7-inch display and analogue gauges on the left and right. The display is square and, unfortunately, its frames are visible, despite the fact that the entire instrument panel is black. The display will show a lot of useful information; you can customize the behavior of the Hyundai Santa Fe through it, etc.

There is a projection on the windshield that works with the traffic sign recognition system. The system shows the current speed and the last speed limit sign.

Trunk

If you don't order a third row of seats, the boot will be 630-litres, which is larger than its predecessor. In the 7-seater version it is 328 liters. Under the floor there are foam organizers and a standard set of tools.

A full-size spare tire is hidden under the bottom.

With the seats folded down, the total volume increases to 2002 liters. The seats are folded using a servo drive, resulting in a flat floor 2 meters long.

Engine and gearbox

The new crossover is powered by old engines, but technical part has not remained completely unchanged, there are innovations, but more on them later.

4-cylinder engines of the new Hyundai Santa Fe:

  • Basic – Theta-II 2.4GDI with a volume of 2.4 liters, producing 188 Horse power at 6000 rpm and 241 H*m of torque at 4000 rpm;
  • Diesel R2.2 CRDi VGT 2.2 liters with 200 horses at 3800 tachometer revolutions and 440 units of torque almost at idle - 1750 rpm.

The pair has different gearboxes: for the gasoline engine there is a 6-speed automatic transmission, and for the diesel engine there is an 8-speed automatic transmission. The dynamics are weak by modern standards - 10.4 seconds for Theta-II 2.4GDI and 9.4 seconds for R2.2 CRDi VGT.

The car has all-wheel drive, but front-wheel drive by default. If necessary electronic system all-wheel drive HTRAC will transmit up to 50% of the torque to the rear axle through an electric clutch. The system is needed for driving in winter, that is, for the stability of the car, this is an innovation.

Suspension, brakes and steering

The Santa Fe crossover is built on a redesigned third-generation platform. Both axles are on an independent circuit, a McPherson circuit with a stabilizer is installed in front lateral stability and telescopic shock absorbers. The rear axle is mounted on a multi-link with a transverse stabilizer.

Cars with air suspension exist, but they have not yet arrived in Russia. Such crossovers were given to journalists.

Stopping occurs with disc brakes with a wear indicator. There is nothing new in the brakes; they are still complemented by ABS, EBD, etc. Steering supplemented with electric power steering, steering speed – 2.71.

Security systems

Many systems have been installed, as this is required by European countries. Systems:

  • safe exit from the parking lot, notifying about the car on the side;
  • Blind spot monitoring, which works not only while driving, but also while stopping. If a car is driving behind you, rear passengers will not be able to open the doors;
  • system for keeping the car in the lane for 5 seconds if your hands are not on the steering wheel;
  • automatic high beam switching;
  • automatic braking before an obstacle;
  • adaptive cruise control;
  • all-round view.

The minimum Family version for 2,049,000 rubles will have:

  • climate control;
  • electric power steering;
  • Cruise control;
  • rear parking sensors;
  • fabric interior upholstery;
  • heated steering wheel;
  • heated front seats;
  • tire pressure sensor;
  • instrument panel with 3.5-inch display;
  • ESC stabilization system;
  • 5-inch multimedia with 6 speakers audio system.

The most expensive High-Tech package will have a lot of things: electrical adjustments, a 7-inch instrument panel, 8-inch multimedia, Krell audio system, all-round visibility, keyless entry, automatic parking, etc.

Conclusion: The new Hyundai Santa Fe is an excellent replacement, changed in many aspects. The car has become better - this is a fact, it will become popular, like its predecessor, perhaps even more popular due to its design. The only questionable part is the price.

There was a time when the Hyundai Santa Fe was able to “pave the way” for the Hyundai company Motor Company" in the crossover division. In addition, the South Korean company has achieved real success in the global market. Hyundai Santa Fe is a “mid-size SUV” with a 5- or 7-seat interior layout that has front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The car has good driving qualities, moderate cross-country ability, and great practicality. There are 4 generations of this vehicle in total. The latest family of the new Hyundai Santa Fe 4 was officially presented in March 2018 at Geneva car showroom. The entire Hyundai lineup.

Car history

Your debut this car, built on the basis of the Sonata sedan, was seen in 2000. Almost instantly, the car became a bestseller for the South Korean company in the United States market. After 2012, when the next “reincarnation” took place, the car received a seven-seater version with the prefix “Grand” in the name. IN this moment cars have strong demand, mainly in North America - more than 120,000 vehicles are sold every year.

I wonder what this car is the first crossover in the history of the company, which was developed by its own specialists.

Santa Fe Classic (2000-2006, TagAZ 2007-2014)

The Korean company officially showed its new Hyundai Santa Fe for the first time in 1999. Starting next year, the car began to be assembled in serial order. Despite the fact that the new car was released along with such models as the Mazda Tribute and Pontiac Aztek, as well as criticism for its vague appearance, the new product won the respect of US car enthusiasts.

There were times when the plant did not have time to meet demand and meet the demand for cars. After the appearance of the 2nd generation of this crossover in 2006, the release of the debut version was moved to a domestic automobile company. Therefore, the car began to be produced by Taganrog automobile plant(TagAZ).

The 1st generation Hyundai Santa Fe was produced when cars from Korea were simple in design, but reliable and fully met the goals of a crossover. A unusual appearance many forgave due to the low cost. It was precisely this simple and reliable approach that allowed the “Korean” to win universal respect. It’s interesting, but even today you can find crossovers in good condition.

The company’s specialists were not tasked with luring buyers with chrome, bumpers, moldings, bright colors, unusual lines and other modern technological gadgets. Therefore, the Koreans saved on the work of the design team. It is unlikely that anyone will say anything bad about the eternal classic, which always remains in fashion.

Similar associations appear when examining the appearance of the Santa Fe Classic. There are huge sizes, smoothed corners, cast “rollers”, tinted glass. All this causes a certain stability, disposition, and a sense of trust. The exterior of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2000 has large dimensions and a streamlined shape.

This car was named after the resort town of Santa Fe, which is the administrative center of the American state of New Mexico.

After a calm appearance, getting into Hyundai salon Santa Fe I generation does not experience a sharp drop, for which the plant workers should be especially praised. Here you can find high-quality and high-quality interior decoration, comfortable chairs and armrests, high sound insulation, smooth ride, good traction.

We decided to choose leather or velor as the interior finishing material. The designers have thought through the issue of ergonomics well, so everything you need is always nearby. Don't forget about the high seating and adjustable height steering wheel. The driver is not distracted from driving the vehicle. There is a rack and pinion steering mechanism.

“Tidying” turned out to be simple, but informative at any time of the day. The driver's seat can be adjusted in height mechanically, and it also has lumbar support and lateral support. Absolutely all chairs are equipped with an adjustable backrest angle.

There is a 2-section armrest in front, as well as a pair of sockets. There is a pull-out drawer under the front passenger. There's enough inside free space for all passengers, so the issue of spaciousness disappears. You can install a specific temperature regime, applying modern system climate control.

The luggage compartment received 469 liters. However, if necessary, it can be increased by folding the rear seats, which will already provide 2,100 liters. usable space.

Moreover, a flat floor is formed. There is a 12V socket in the trunk niche under the instrument mat. It’s also nice that you can open the rear window separately, which is very helpful in tight parking spaces.

From the very start of sales (2000) until 2012, this car was sold to many countries in two generations in the amount of more than 2,500,000 copies.

In the first year of production, this vehicle was equipped with a couple of power units operating on gasoline. It was an economical and low-power 2.4-liter engine that produced 150 horsepower. It worked with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.

The drive was only on the front wheels. Next came a V-shaped six-cylinder 2.7-liter unit with 173 horsepower, which received an automatic transmission with an all-wheel drive system. Starting in 2001, they began to produce a two-liter version of a turbodiesel engine that produced 112 horsepower. At the end of the first generation, its power increased to 125 hp.

Speaking of the suspension, it received a non-standard solution, as for off-road versions of that time. The first generation Hyundai Santa Fe has a completely independent suspension, with McPherson struts in front and double wishbones in the rear, which has a large margin of safety even taking into account the quality of domestic roads.

The advantages of the “Korean” include its good smoothness. The permanent all-wheel drive system can distribute torque forces in a proportion of 60 percent to the front and 40 percent to the rear. As soon as slippage begins, the viscous coupling blocks the center differential.

The car of the first family has a “licensed copy” in the form Chinese crossover JAC Rein.

The 2002 version of the car already has an increased fuel tank up to 71 l. (previously there was a 64-liter tank) and minor changes inside and out. I liked the introduction of two-tone interior colors. After 2003, the crossover had a 200-horsepower V6 engine with a volume of 3.5 liters, as well as a five-speed automatic transmission.

With the advent of 2005, the model underwent a small facelift, which affected the shape of the radiator grille, rear bumper and dashboard.

II generation (2006-2012) The next family of Santa Fe cars was officially shown in 2006 during the Detroit international exhibition

Serial production of the crossover from Korea continued until 2012, giving way to the next third generation. The second version of the Korean car seriously stands out from the first. The debut models were assembled only on the production line in Montgomery (USA). After 2009, the company established production in the Czech Republic. And since 2007 Hyundai of the Year Santa Fe II appeared in a number of European countries with some changes. The new product occupied an intermediate niche between the ix35 (Tucson) and ix55 (Veracruz) crossovers.

Korean crossover looks massive, solid and powerful for its time. There are smooth lines and body shapes that are familiar to many crossovers. The strength is eloquently evidenced by the massive side parts, large radiator grille, expressive wheel arches, Asian head optics and two trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

If you cover the company nameplate at the front of the car, then the “Korean” can be mistaken for a more prestigious car. Large wheel disks only emphasize the respectability of a comfortable crossover. Height ground clearance for the 2nd generation Hyundai Santa Fe it was 203 millimeters, which is very good.

The update provided the five-door with a new bumper, a false radiator grille in body color, fog light surrounds and new roof rails. Got the wheels new design

and diameter 18 inches.

Interestingly, in 2006, the second generation Santa Fe set a world record for fuel efficiency among mid-size crossovers. Hyundai Santa Fe 2 off-road vehicles have a fairly standard, attractive and comfortable interior. The dashboard looks nice, with three round indicator windows. In the top configuration interior decoration

made of leather, the box in the driver's armrest has a cooling function, and also has a light sensor.

The “steering wheel” itself turned out to be beautiful and has a metallic decor. The dark wood panel trim manages to emphasize the overall style of the vehicle. The second family received new dial fonts and a backlight shade that became more pleasant compared to the first generation. They didn’t forget to equip the car with a wireless Bluetooth headset, which makes control more convenient.

Car owners talk about the good quality of the seat heating function - the function is actually comfortable and can be easily adjusted. Hyundai Santa Fe 2 received an immobilizer, central locking and a power unit start button, as well as the ability to safely keyless entry in the salon. There is plenty of free space for passengers sitting in the back.

The driver and front passenger seats received lateral support and electrical adjustments. The second row has a wide armrest with cup holders, and the backrest can be adjusted to the angle of inclination. The luggage compartment now has an increased volume - 774 liters, and can be removed if necessary rear backrests on a flat floor, which will provide 1,582 liters of useful volume.

The Russians received two power units for the “second” Santa Fe. The standard version is a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated, 2.4-liter power plant with distributed fuel injection. As a result, the “engine” develops 174 horsepower and 226 Nm.

Next comes a diesel, in-line, four-cylinder, 2.2-liter turbocharged engine. All this allows the engine to produce 197 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque. For any motor you can choose mechanical or automatic transmission(both have 6 speeds). Already in the base, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2 crossover has an all-wheel drive system, which, under normal conditions, transfers all forces to the front wheels.

But if one of the wheels starts to slip, rear wheels passes up to 50 percent of the rotating forces. This process is monitored by an electronically controlled multi-plate friction clutch. The gasoline power plant accelerates to the first hundred in 10.7-11.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is 186-190 kilometers per hour.

The combined cycle of a 174-horsepower unit requires 8.7-8.8 liters, and the diesel version - 6.8-7.2 liters per 100 km. As a basis for Santa Fe 2, they decided to use the front-wheel drive architecture from the Hyundai Sonata sedan. The front suspension structure has shock absorber struts McPherson, and the rear axle is independent multi-link suspension. The steering has a hydraulic power steering, and the brake system has disc brake mechanism“in a circle” (the front ones received ventilation), as well as electronic assistants ABS and ESC.

The safety of the 2nd generation Hyundai Santa Fe is not in last place. The first generation car passed crash tests, which showed a high level of safety. But the performance of the second Santa Fe family has only improved. The car has front and side airbags, seat belt pretensioners and curtain airbags.

For high-quality passenger safety, experts have provided active head restraints.

III generation (2012-2015)

Exterior

The next 3rd generation of the mid-size Korean 5-seater crossover was released in the summer of 2012. The new product became the first model to embody the new design concept of the brand “Storm Edge”. IN European countries the vehicle is called Santa Fe Sport, and in our country simply Santa Fe.

Korean specialists were able to combine a high level of safety, comfort and advanced workmanship with modern features. All this allows the car to easily compete with the more “famous” European giants.

In 2012, the car of the 3rd division passed the Euro NCAP tests and showed excellent results - a maximum of 5 stars.

The appearance of the 3rd generation Hyundai Santa Fe was created in the concept of “flowing lines”. In fact, everything looks great. The appearance is both attractive and smooth, but devoid of anything flashy or eccentric. The front part received a large, chrome-plated radiator grille, a two-tone front bumper, sharpened optics and fog lights, as well as a sloping hood.

There are LED-filled optics with an interesting shape. When looking at the front of the Hyundai Santa Fe III, it is simply impossible to confuse the car with another brand. The side part is intriguing - there are proportional and harmonious lines. There are massive doors that have been stamped at the bottom and top, which capture everything rear wing and a little bit in front.

The gas tank is equipped with a round hatch. Not without some small rear windows doors and a slightly littered roof. The entire silhouette of the Korean crossover Hyundai Santa Fe 3 indicates aggressiveness and a sporty attitude. The ground clearance on the third generation was 185 millimeters.

The rear end looks thoroughbred, has a dual exhaust, an effective wing and elongated stops. There are also LED elements. The spoiler has a duplicated brake light. You can recognize the vehicle by the plastic body kit around the entire perimeter of the car, which successfully harmonizes with the large light alloy “rollers”. Rear bumper also received protection and reflectors.

List of “regalia” Hyundai Santa Fe 3 has “Top Safety Pick”, which is the highest award for safety from the American IIHS.

Interior

The interior of the Hyundai Santa Fe III was made with high quality, sound quality and in the corporate style of the company. There is a wave-shaped dashboard, decorated with uniquely shaped openings for the ventilation system, as well as a nice and informative “tidy”. The instrument panel itself has a soft blue backlight and deep wells in which sensors for the speed mode and the number of revolutions of the power unit are hidden.

The center console has a large screen under a special visor that improves visibility and prevents glare. Inside, the beautiful 3-spoke steering wheel, reminiscent of the letter “V” and equipped with controls for controlling the multimedia system, immediately catches your eye.

Below the display is the options control department. Visually, this area is distinguished by 2 “twists”, strewn with keys on all sides. Ergonomics are top notch - everything is at hand and the driver does not need to reach any controls. The gearshift lever is comfortable, and the keys around it fit well into the overall picture of the interior.

During finishing, we used only materials High Quality. There is plenty of free space for all passengers in both rows. The chairs themselves turned out to be comfortable, they have excellent lateral support and a lot of adjustments. The second row is made for two adult passengers and is equipped with an armrest and other pleasant little things.

Hyundai Santa Fe III introduces the first car designed under the latest "Storm Edge" design concept.

The luggage compartment has 585 liters, but it can be increased by folding the rear seats. After this, the volume will increase to 1,680 liters of usable space.

Owners note a good level of sound insulation of the crossover. To achieve this, a team of engineers decided to use thicker glass and special insulation mats to reliably protect passengers from external noise, wind whistling and the sound of the engine.

Generally speaking, the interior was adjusted to the “standards” of premium cars. There is plastic, but it is expensive and nice. There are no backlashes, crooked seams or problems with front panel inconsistencies. To Korean engineers managed to take into account all the flaws of past generations and make it realistic a cozy car With high level comfort.

Specifications Santa Fe III

Power unit III generation

The technical part of the “third” Santa Fe received two power units. The basic version is considered to be the improved Theta II petrol power plant, which has a displacement of 2.4 liters and develops 175 horsepower. The engine received a new distributed gasoline supply system with adjustable injector geometry and meets Euro-4 environmental standards.

The maximum speed is 190 kilometers per hour, and the first hundred is reached by the Hyundai Santa Fe III in 11.4 seconds. with a manual transmission and 11.6 sec. with automatic transmission. This “engine” consumes about 8.9 liters. fuel in combined mode, 11.7/12.3 liters in the city (with manual and automatic transmission

), and on the highway - 7.3 and 6.9 liters. respectively. In the role of the second, they decided to use a 2.2-liter diesel power unit. The engine is called R 2.2 VHT and produces 197 horsepower. There is an injection system Common Rail 3rd family, electronic turbocharger, recirculation cooler exhaust gases

EGR and piezo injectors with pressures up to 1,800 bar.

The diesel engine has 436 Nm. The first hundred is reached in 9.8 seconds, and the maximum speed does not exceed 190 kilometers per hour. The diesel version works exclusively with an automatic transmission. Average consumption in the combined cycle is 6.6 liters per 100 km, in the city 8.8, and outside the city only 5.3 liters of diesel fuel.

Suspension

The suspension settings of the new car have been significantly changed, which is why the ride height and center of gravity of the car have changed. As a result, the car is much easier to control on a flat road section, confidently holds its course and easily copes with turns at speed, ensuring peace and the proper level of comfort for passengers.

However, when some bumps, holes, etc. appear, real shaking is felt, the noise inside the car increases and the stability of the vehicle decreases. Not everything is so sad, since this happens in almost all crossovers of this division. The suspension itself has the same independent structure, there are McPherson struts in front, and the rear has a multi-link system.

Brake system "Brakes" have disc braking devices

on all wheels (front ventilated) and have wear sensors with a parking brake and electronic control. The steering wheel now has an electric power amplifier and three switchable operating modes: “Comfort”, “Normal” and “Sport”.

Safety Based on tests NCAP, Hyundai Santa Fe 3 received 5 stars. The safety rate for adults was 96 percent, and the safety rate for pedestrians during a collision was 71 percent. It is also pleasant that the Euro NCAP association decided to award this car the title of “most safe car"in its niche.

Cost and equipment

For our country, the Koreans have provided an abundance of performances. There are 6 complete sets in total. The cheapest version was the “Base” version, which comes only with a gasoline engine, front-wheel drive transmission and manual gearbox. This car has:

  • front airbags,
  • electrical systems EBA, EBD and ABS,
  • 17-inch “skating rinks”,
  • fabric interior with heated front seats,
  • cruise control,
  • air conditioning,

It received an automatic body level adjustment system, front and rear parking sensors, lighting when getting into the car, a heating function for the second row of seats, music with eight speakers, Bluetooth, a navigation system and a voice control function. Such a crossover costs 1,629,000 Russian rubles.

The “Sport” package is distinguished by a driver’s knee pad, automatic switching on an emergency signal during emergency braking, 18-inch rollers, headlight washers, an engine start button with a keyless entry option and a heated steering wheel. This set of options costs from 1,629,000 rubles.

The top-end “High-Tech” car already has a tire pressure monitoring system, 19-inch titanium rollers, a panoramic roof, an automatic parking system and a memory function for the driver’s seat settings. With a 2.2-liter engine, you will have to pay at least 1,889,000 rubles for such a crossover.

Third generation restyling (2015-2018)

With the onset of September 2015 Russian market started selling updated version off-road model of the third family, which received a prefix to the name – Premium. The new car differs from the pre-restyling car due to its slightly retouched exterior, modernized finishing materials, chassis and price, which is not surprising. The new product was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Restyling had a positive effect on the overall assessment of the crossover. Aggression and solidity appeared, which the designers achieved thanks to a new radiator grille with horizontal and massive chrome slats. Sports bumpers, “bold” front optics that extend far onto the wings, as well as “redrawn” rear lights also had a positive effect. The image of innovations was completed by unique “skating rinks”, which can be 17- or 19-inch.

Restyling III generation

Inside the updated Hyundai Santa Fe III Premium there are only slightly perceptible changes from the “simple” third generation. The new product has an infotainment system with an 8-inch display. In addition, Korean specialists were able to improve the finishing materials in a targeted manner. In all respects, the cars are the same (the luggage compartment has 585 liters, but it can be increased to 1,680).

The range of power plants and transmissions remains the same. Hyundai Santa Fe Premium was built on an improved “trolley” of the third family. The amount of high-strength steel in the body structure has increased noticeably, which has a positive effect on body rigidity. All other parameters remained the same. The basic “Start” package costs at least RUB 1,956,000. For the top version “High-Tech” you will have to pay from 2,301,000 rubles.

Seven-seater Santa Fe III generation (2012-2018)

There is also a seven-seater Hyundai Santa Fe III, released at the end of 2012. Russians were able to see the model on their market only in the first months of 2014. During 2016, the “Korean seven-seater model” received a restyling based on “spot adjustments to the exterior.”

The exterior of the large crossover is made in the design version of the concept of the Hyundai model list. If you pay attention to the shape of the body, it turns out to be slightly “elongated”. On top of that, the stampings on the side of the car visually lengthen the car. The front part of the 7-seater Hyundai Santa Fe 3 turned out to be stern and focused.

Front lighting and notches look nice fog lights. Unlike the 5-seater crossover, the “family version” has a different side glazing profile, different tail lights and a modified form of fog lights. It is clear that the Hyundai Santa Fe 7 has different, increased dimensions.

Such changes made it possible to increase the spaciousness of the luggage compartment. With a five-seater capacity, the car has 634 liters, and the maximum volume is 1,842 liters (with the two rear rows of seats folded. With maximum quantity The seats have only 176 liters of usable space.

Although the interior of the crossover is the same as that of a simple 5-seater car, there is more free legroom for passengers in the 2nd row. As for the third row, it is cut down in terms of comfort and is better suited for children.

Besides diesel engine, a 3.0-liter V-type gasoline “engine” with six “boilers” is provided. The engine has a new generation direct injection system and produces 249 horsepower. The suspension structure is identical to the five-seater version of the Hyundai Santa Fe 3. The minimum cost of a seven-seater model in 2017 is 2,424,000 rubles.

IV generation (2018-present)

Mid-size South Korean SUV fourth generation was officially presented in the spring (March) of 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. The new product received an elegant appearance, the most modern and spacious interior, a wide range of power units and very rich equipment.

Hyundai Santa Fe 4 was created initially focusing on family people who value a car’s stylish appearance, practical qualities, excellent level of comfort and safety, as well as quality-to-cost ratio. The first family was first shown during a special event in Goyang City, which is located in northern Seoul.

Appearance IV generation

The appearance of the new Hyundai Santa Fe model has changed in every way. The new product has been brought in line with the new style of the Korean company, for example, the front part is similar to the front area of the Hyundai Kona. The nose area has a new grille framed by a thick chrome insert at the top. The radiator grill itself is made in the shape of a trapezoid and has large cells.

Above the chrome there was a place for narrow LED optics, which are already installed in the basic configuration, which is very nice. But these are not considered headlights - these are just DRLs, and the headlights themselves are located on the side of the bumper. The front bumper received 3 lights at the corners of the radiator grill - low beam, high beam and turn signals. The lowest part of the bumper has fog lights.

Hyundai Santa Fe IV generation

The side part of the IV generation Hyundai Santa Fe has changed, acquiring rapid qualities. The new crossover has sharp transitions along the lines, extensions and beveled elements. This is mainly noticeable on the upper rear part. There is a raised line connecting to the stern lights. It turns out that a kind of double expansion of the wheel arch is formed between the rear pillar.

Since it is very fashionable to use chrome these days, Korean experts have used it on many external elements of the car: it is on door handles, glass edging and roof rails. The ground clearance of the new Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 is 185 millimeters. Despite its massive parameters, the profile of the five-door does not feel heavy.

Rather, on the contrary, there is balance and quite dynamic proportions. There are raised “folds” on the sidewalls, a smoothly rising window sill line and external mirrors mounted on legs. Looking at the back of the 2018-2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, you get the feeling that it has not undergone major changes. However, when watching a video review of the stern, all the innovations become noticeable.

Some give the rear end an Infinity style and the headlights are similar to the lighting. The stern in the more expensive version has new narrow LED headlights, available optionally. They didn’t forget to install a large wing at the top. There is also a small wing located above the optics. The headlights themselves were connected by a line of chrome, and the tailgate received electric drive.

Color options include:

  • White-basic;
  • Red-orange;
  • Red;
  • Dark blue;
  • Black;
  • Metallic gray;
  • Dark gray metallic;
  • Gray-green metallic;
  • Dark green metallic;
  • Silver bronze metallic.

IV generation salon

The interior of the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe 2018-2019 received a completely new architecture of the front panel and center console. There are horizontal lines with smooth transitions from level to level. Thanks to this, the front panel looks stylish and airy, but powerful and expensive.

Many automakers are trying their best to improve the animated animated center screen. The Koreans made it in green, soothing color. The multimedia system itself migrated unchanged from the 3rd family. Leather steering wheel Got finger rests. Top-end Krell “music” is used, equipped with 9 speakers, a subwoofer and an amplifier.

Unusually for this class, the keys are located on the side of the front passenger seat. Using these buttons, a passenger sitting in the 2nd row will be able to move the front seat forward or fold it down altogether. Such functions are used only in premium sedans.

It is clear that the photographs showed an expensive interior, which received a digital dashboard, a compact and comfortable multifunction steering wheel, an advanced multimedia system with a separate color display that supports touch input, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with voice control. This system was developed by Hyundai specialists and the Korean company Kakao. In addition, there is:

  • dual-zone climate control;
  • leather seat trim;
  • front seats with electric drive, heating and ventilation functions;
  • 8 airbags;
  • 19-inch “rollers”;
  • full LED optics;
  • quality music";
  • head-up display;
  • a system that monitors blind spots and other modern equipment.

The climate system controls are distinguished by a chrome insert. The passage from the tunnel has a port for charging a smartphone and a niche for wireless charging. The tunnel received a large gearbox selector. Behind it are the driving mode keys, the electronic parking brake and the all-round visibility system. Right part The tunnel has two large cup holders.

According to the manufacturers, the interior of the Hyundai Santa Fe 4 has only high-quality finishing materials - genuine leather and rare varieties of trees.

The front seats received expensive materials and high-quality orthopedic padding. The first row of seats was made quite comfortable, and the second row was prepared for 3 adults. But it is important to note that only 2 chairs received clear contours. You can definitely see that there is only enough free space for 2 people, since it will be a little cramped for the person sitting in the center.

The rear seats can be retracted almost to a reclining position. The salon itself was done simply, but presentably. Pleasant innovations include a 220V socket and 2 USB connectors. There are no frills or unnecessary details. According to the engineering staff, the Korean crossover will have a five-seater and a seven-seater version. It became freer inside. Dashboard partly digital, partly analog – many will appreciate this.

Availability panoramic roof will only add its own zest, and with it, a sense of space, visually blurring the line between the cabin and the sky. The third row of seats almost rests on the rear tailgate, but has its own air conditioning, air duct and ventilation.

Without the third row of seats, the luggage compartment received 630 liters, which is slightly higher than the previous generation of crossover. When purchasing a 7-seater version, the volume will be 328 liters. Under the floor there are foam organizers and a standard set of tools.

If you fold all the seats, the total volume increases to an impressive 2,002 liters of usable space. The seats can be folded using a servo drive, which forms a flat surface 2 m long.

Technical characteristics of the IV generation

IV generation power unit

The fourth family of Hyundai Santa Fi has a solid list of engines, but the Russian market has only a couple of them. The base engine is a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter GDI power plant of the Theta-II series. The “engine” has four vertically arranged cylinders, distributed gasoline injection, a 16-valve gas distribution mechanism and adjustable valve timing.

All this allows you to develop 188 “horses” and 241 Nm. Such a power unit requires an average of 9.3 liters. for every hundred km in the combined cycle.

They also provided an alternative option - a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel CRDi VGT, which received a turbocharger, battery fuel injection, and a 16-valve DOHC gas distribution mechanism. As a result, the engine produces 200 horsepower and 440 Nm. Diesel consumes about 7.5 liters per 100 km.

Other countries have a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated GDI, which received direct injection, developing 185 “horses” and 241 Nm, a turbocharged GDI 2.0-liter “four”, producing 240 horsepower and 353 Nm, and a diesel engine, which received 186 horsepower and 402 Nm with a volume of 2.0 l. They all work with both automatic and 6-speed transmissions. mechanical boxes transmission

Turbocharged engine

Generation IV transmission

The petrol power plant is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel version has an 8-speed gearbox. Regardless of which version you buy, the machine has all-wheel drive transmission HTRAC. In a normal position, all torque will be transmitted to the front wheels, but as soon as the wheels begin to slip, up to 50 percent of the force will be transmitted to the rear axle. An electric coupling is responsible for this “division”.

Acceleration to a speed mark of 100 kilometers per hour takes 9.4-10.4 seconds. The maximum speed does not exceed 195-203 kilometers per hour.

IV generation chassis

The fourth version of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 is based on a seriously modernized “trolley” of the previous generation, which has a transversely mounted power unit and the widespread use of high-strength steel in the body structure (57%). The Korean crossover received full independent suspension, as well as hydraulic shock absorbers and transverse stabilizers.

The front has McPherson struts, and the rear has a multi-link architecture. As a separate option you can install rear suspension With pneumatic elements, which helps keep the ride height at the same height despite the degree of load.

The electric power steering, installed on the rack itself, helps to steer the car. The braking system of the Hyundai Santa Fe 4 has disc mechanisms (ventilated in front) with electronic assistants ABS, EBD and other current gadgets.

Safety Santa Fe IV

The company decided to use innovative safety solutions for its new crossover. To meet the highest safety standards, the 2018-2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has one of the best safety packages in its class with solutions unusual for the industry. An abundance of such elements are included in the Hyundai SmartSense group of active driver safety technologies.

For example, there is an innovative function for monitoring rear passengers (Rear Occupant Alert), which has been taught to recognize people from behind and warn the driver of the car when they intend to leave the vehicle.

Innovative rear seat monitoring function

Not without a system that can prevent collisions with side traffic from behind. When the car is moving in reverse at bad review the technology can not only warn the owner about the approach of other cars from the side and behind, but also automatically apply the braking system.

There is a safety exit system that prevents accidents with cars approaching from behind. In other words, the system does not allow you to unlock the rear doors in case of danger. Engineers developed the system automatic braking facing obstacles ahead. This technology can warn the owner about dangerous situations and when necessary it performs braking automatically.

The FCA system uses a front-facing radar and camera, and also has 3 operating modes. Initially, the system informs the driver visually and with an audible warning. After this control braking system switches to this system and, depending on the difference in distance to the obstacle, uses the necessary braking force to avoid an impact or reduce its consequences.

Next comes the lane keeping assistant. This assistant monitors the position of the car and informs the owner during dangerous maneuvers at speeds of more than 60 kilometers per hour. Audible and visual warnings are provided, and then the crossover begins to return to its previous safe position.

There is technology to prevent collisions with cars in the blind spot. It uses radar to monitor traffic on either side of the rear and if it detects another vehicle, it will display a visual alert on the outside mirrors. The new crossover is equipped with a high level passive safety. The car has an exceptionally rigid body structure thanks to the use of high-strength steel.

The body perfectly absorbs impact energy during a collision and has minimal deformation. Using numerous elements created using hot stamping and increased diameter welds, specialists reduced the weight of the car and ensured a good level of safety in a collision. Inside, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe 4 has 6 airbags, including 2 front, 2 side and 2 curtain airbags for the first and second row of seats.

Comparison with competitors

It’s still too early to talk about obvious advantages; the car must show itself in operation in order to give the new product a more objective assessment. It is clear that the new Hyundai Santa Fe 4 crossover has received new rivals, since the bar has been raised high, the project is very ambitious.

The Korean car is actually already stepping on the heels of the German and, as well as the “Japanese”, represented by the Nissan Rouge and. Moreover, the 4th generation has its own advantages, so some will be inclined to purchase this particular car. If you compare the quality, level of equipment and cost, then service European car more expensive, and fuel consumption is higher.

The Korean crossover Hyundai Santa Fe is ready to enter the Russian market. Earlier it was reported that the public premiere of the new product for Russians would be held as part of the international Moscow Motor Show, which will take place in late August 2018. But there is still no information with what “filling” the cross will enter the market of our country. So, what has become known from the latest news about the Hyundai Santa Fe we will talk about today.

In particular, it became reliably known that for sale new Hyundai Santa Fe will be equipped with 4-cylinder engines with a displacement of 2.4 litres. The first engine, the G4KJ-5 with direct injection, is capable of generating 188 horsepower with a torque of 241 Nm. A six-speed automatic transmission will be offered as a transmission.

The power output of the second G4KE-5 unit with multipoint injection is 171 hp. (225Nm). In addition to the automatic transmission, they also provided a six-speed manual transmission. Only AI-95 is suitable as fuel for the latter; the former is capable of operating without failures on AI-92.

Besides, in motor range The fourth generation Hyundai Santa Fe will also include a 2.2-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 200 hp, which has proven itself in the previous generation. If in the previous generation there was a non-alternative 6-speed automatic transmission, then with the change of generations other gearboxes were also provided for it. Thus, the OTTS, which is registered in the Rosstandart database, says that the 2.2-liter diesel engine can work in conjunction with both a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission. By the way, we can also evaluate the latter on the restyled Hyundai Taxon.

Currently, the Korean company Hyundai offers its crossover in our country only in a five-seater version. With the change of generations, the Santa Fe’s wheelbase increased by 65 millimeters, so “family” modifications with a seven-seater cabin are expected to appear. At least, such modifications are stated in the OTTS. What fate awaits the Grand Santa Fe in this case is still unknown. Most likely, the model will simply be removed from sales in Russia, and the Palisade will become the company’s flagship.

It should be noted that in the first six months of this year, dealers sold 3,319 Hyundai Santa Fe. More than half of all sales (52%) were diesel versions. We offer the current crossover with a diesel engine for at least 2 million 209 thousand rubles. Basic version with a gasoline engine costs 1 million 964 thousand rubles today.
