The new S54 inline six was developed based on European version BMW engine S50B32. Problems and disadvantages of BMW S54 engines

The S54 engine is the most pressed of all BMW naturally aspirated inline sixes, it would seem much further, but there is still some reserve. The fifth generation BMW M3 F80 (2017-2018) was first shown to the public at the North American Auto Show in 2014. The car went on sale in Europe in the spring of 2014, but it arrived in Russia only in the summer of the same year. The model is available in this moment only in a sedan body, and manufacturers will move coupes and convertibles into separate model and called it, but we will talk about it in another review.

Exterior

Between the headlights there is a branded radiator grille with a chrome trim, which in turn is connected to the headlights. A fairly massive, aerodynamic and aggressive bumper has been installed, which has two huge air intakes at the bottom. The bumper looks really menacing.


The side part of the BMW M3 2017-2018 model has also undergone drastic changes. There is a gill with chrome decoration after the front arch, from which comes the top line of the body, passing through the door handles, it looks cool. The wheel arches are quite swollen, and there is also a small stamping in the lower part, which in turn visually connects the arches with each other. The design of the rear-view mirrors has changed; at first glance it seems that they have two pillars, but this is not the case, there is only one pillar.

After it we see the gearbox selector, to the left of which there are buttons for turning on/off ESP and other things. On the right is a carbon insert on which there is a washer and several buttons for controlling the multimedia system, and to the left of all this is the parking brake handbrake. It is unlikely that anyone will use the trunk in this car. But still, if there are such people, then it will please you, since its volume is 480 liters.
