Owner reviews

I took Grandis by accident. The equipment is luxurious, 6-seater leather interior, ventilated front seats. For traveling, and there are four of us traveling - this is the layout best option. The second row of seats is not inferior in comfort to the front, and the third row is spacious enough even for adult passengers. As a truck, the car justified itself 100 percent; during a recent move, everything fit in - both beds and cabinets (I didn’t even have to disassemble them).

Great for traveling too lucky car. Thanks to its excellent aerodynamics, it has a very low consumption fuel: 9-10 liters per 100 km with almost full load. In the city it’s about 13-14 liters, although if you constantly drive through traffic jams it’s 15-16 liters. Visibility is very good. The seating position is high, the mirrors are large.

The dynamics are good, you just need to remember that when driving for a long time at a constant speed automatic transmission transmission switches to economy mode and the response to the accelerator pedal becomes dull. The brakes are quite effective. Handling is normal for a minivan, the ride is good, and the suspension is strong.

Among the shortcomings is the not very good profile of the driver’s seat, in long journey my back gets tired, well ground clearance I would like a little more. Also, with a huge cabin, there are very few compartments for small items, and the sound insulation is not very good.

Video review

Engine and automatic transmission. The engine still runs quite quietly and powerfully, and INVEC-II, despite the 4 stages, is soft and fast. I really liked the work of this tandem. I’m definitely not a racer, although I don’t deny myself either speed or overtaking on the highway. Gasoline was first poured at 95 (Lukoil only), then 92 (Lukoil only), then in different ways, then 5 thousand km on the 92nd, then 5 thousand on the 95th, the difference in dynamics is small.

I have been keeping a log of mileage and consumption since the Grandis landed on the shores of Russia. I’ll just say that over the last 30 thousand km I have not reset the consumption readings, and now at 70% city and 30% highway it does not exceed 12 liters per 100 km. This takes into account the mandatory morning warm-ups (regardless of the time of year) and wild traffic jams over the past year.

I continue, the maximum speed of 190 km/h “instrument” (precisely 190 km/h, because the needle goes beyond 180 km/h and is practically pressed against the rod of the odometer switch/reset button), is achieved by a very smooth increase in speed.

Manual shift control is a cool thing. Especially in winter and on mild muddy roads. On the passes on the road to Dzhubga and Sochi, they greatly help to keep the speed in the “torque” range.

Interior and salon. I love. With a height of almost 180 cm, I have no problems with sitting in any of the 3 rows of seats. With the driver's seat raised to maximum, on one of my first trips I felt like the captain of a small shuttle, looking at the triangular front windows at the pillar. The backlight, although with orange illumination of the speedometer edging, is perfectly readable.

The interior is completely white. This is my first car with this color of seats. It looks rich, but a child can very quickly add any other color to the upholstery.

Review of Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 (165 hp) automatic transmission 2004

Family car. Purchased 3 years ago in Switzerland, manual transmission, 2.4 petrol. The interior design is simple. The standard music is excellent. Cross-country ability in snow is excellent - in three years I have never gotten stuck in either mud or snow. The suspension is very strong.

Great dynamics. Excellent handling at any speed. When folded rear seatslarge trunk. Excellent working electronics.

I'll list the disadvantages high consumption fuel and today's modest interior and exterior design.

Review of Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 with manual 2005

It was probably a good car in the period from 2003 to 2005, and then became obsolete! There are almost no electronics, the rear view mirrors are terrible - you need to install a rear view camera, etc.

Of the advantages, I will only note large salon. Among the shortcomings in the presence of zero dynamics, low front bumper, high fuel consumption and expensive spare parts for this class of car.

Alina, review of Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 (165 hp) AT 2007.

A very comfortable family car. Especially good for traveling long distances. Bus boarding, conveniently arranged driver's seat, spacious and roomy interior.

The 2.4 liter engine is quite satisfactory, excellent dynamics progress. The sound insulation is not entirely satisfactory, but this one price segment can't offer anything better. In 2007, its price was 785 thousand rubles.

For a large innovative car, this is a very modest price. Among its classmates (except Toyota), this car is the most optimal in its dimensions and the best in workmanship. It's a pity that this car is no longer supplied to the Russian market.

Review of Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 automatic 2007

There were no problems with operation. The engine is high-torque, but I believe that the Japanese could make a choice of engine to complement the two available ones, and, for example, the 3.0 V6. They have something like this. The consumption declared by the manufacturer does not correspond to reality, but on the highway I got 6.8 liters per 100 km a couple of times. In the city the average is 13-14 liters. We pour 95 gasoline, of course.

At fully loaded Only used a few times. At the same time, it behaves cheerfully on the Crimean mountain roads and is drawn to the passes. At the same time, the consumption is corresponding.

Adjustments driver's seat allow you to optimally customize it for yourself. In the third row, two adults up to 180 cm tall can sit quite comfortably; at my height of 185 cm, it’s already uncomfortable. The second row is also flawless - spacious, comfortable, functional.

The halogen light is excellent, although I would use xenon in the fog lights. The landing is symbolic on Grandis, but if the car is used in the city, then you just need to be more attentive and careful with overhangs when parking. Still, our cars are not crossovers or SUVs.

The owner drives a 2009 Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 with manual transmission

"Mitsubishi Grandis" - seven-seater minivan, the presentation of which took place in 2004. In terms of dimensions it more models Opel Zafira, but more compact than the full-size Renault Espace.

Appearance

The car has a non-standard design. Experts and car owners who bought Mitsubishi Grandis are unanimous in this. Photos of the model allow you to evaluate the original appearance, which stands out from other family minivans. Here we must pay tribute to the Mitsubishi design team, led by Olivier Boulet. He was the one who developed the design Lancer models and Outlander, known today all over the world. Swift silhouette, stretched head optics and a row led lights on the aft part make the minivan harmonious and swift. The Japanese present the car more in quality sports station wagon than a minivan.

Options, user opinions

Mitsubishi Grandis gets good reviews. Car enthusiasts are happy with it. The seven-seat version was supplied on domestic market With manual transmission. Basic equipment cost about $30,000. It included a climate control system, central locking, electric windows and heated side mirrors, ABS system, 6 airbags, heated front seats, 16-inch steel wheels, fog lights, CD player.

A more expensive option was the 6-seater Mitsubishi Grandis, which cost $32,500. This package also included leather steering wheel and gear lever, velor seat upholstery, alloy wheel disks R17, automatic transmission and others useful little things, such as a heater for rear passengers.

Most expensive version minivan with leather interior offered for $35,500. It was also complemented by a new radiator grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a DVD player for children's entertainment. Many car owners agreed that the car could use parking sensors, and the top version could be equipped with xenon headlights. Passive and active safety car at a fairly high level.

Interior of "Mitsubishi Grandis": photo, description

Thanks to the high body, the seating position is as comfortable as possible even for tall people. There is enough headroom in the cabin, with plenty to spare. The landing is commanding, like all minivans. If you try to adjust it to suit yourself, most likely your visibility will decrease or the steering wheel will be in an awkward position. The interior trim is made of soft plastic, with aluminum-look inserts in some places. A semicircular center console with a convenient location of the automatic transmission lever, armrests and door handles - everything is as convenient and thought out as possible. The only thing that stands out a little is the radio control buttons.

The picture is complemented by light velor seats and dark mats on the floor and in the luggage compartment. By the way, the rear seat backs are also covered with dark material. During a long trip, the middle row passenger can recline the seat for greater comfort. There are also folding tables on the backs of the front seats.

Compared to its competitors, the model has large trunk even when everyone is involved seats. There is plenty of legroom, but the third row will be uncomfortable for tall passengers.

The third passenger row can be transformed, and if necessary, removed altogether, forming an analogue of a cargo van. The Mitsubishi Grandis chairs are equipped with the Hide & Seat system, which allows you to fold the seats into a niche located in the trunk floor in a few movements. Therefore, there is no need to pull out massive seats every time. The package also includes a curtain for luggage compartment and a grid for various little things. All places are highlighted.

Characteristics of the Mitsubishi Grandis: engines, fuel consumption

The car was equipped with several power units: 2.4-liter petrol and 2.0-liter diesel engines with a power of 162 and 134 hp. respectively. Both settings provide fairly high acceleration dynamics even with a fully loaded vehicle. Diesel engine It is noisier than gasoline. Gasoline engine Quiet, but consumes more fuel. It works in conjunction with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Diesel option aggregates with mechanics.

The Mitsubishi Grandis gasoline engine will require increased financial costs due to higher fuel consumption. The manufacturer states that mixed cycle When driving with a manual transmission, the minivan consumes about 7.8 l/100 km, and with an automatic transmission the consumption increases to 8.4 l/100 km.

On the road

After pressing the accelerator pedal to the floor, the car starts only after a few seconds. The adaptive 4-speed automatic transmission operates with a slight delay, but it corrects the situation somewhat manual mode, in which you can lock the gear and spin the engine.

In this mode, the minivan starts quite quickly, up to 70 km/h, and confidently reaches 190 km/h. Being behind the wheel leaves an ambiguous feeling: on the one hand, the aggressive appearance sets the mood for sporty driving, on the other hand, children usually travel in such cars, so it also hints at a calm, measured ride. The model has high noise insulation and has well-tuned shock absorbers that effectively handle road irregularities. Vertical swing begins at speeds above 150 km/h.

From family car It’s clearly not worth expecting anything more. Grandis already provided customers with more than many of its competitors. While driving it, you constantly want to press the gas pedal to the floor, for which many thanks to the developers. He became the first model in which they managed to combine family trip enjoying a dynamic ride.

The cost of the minivan fully corresponds to its quality and is within its class. Taking into account taxes and insurance, a used Mitsubishi Grandis will not cost more than its main competitors. It is important to note that the cost service at Mitsubishi dealers it is cheaper than, for example, at Toyota, but higher than at Nissan. At the same time, by contacting an unofficial service, you can save a lot.

Bottom line

Mitsubishi cars are known for their reliability, so failures are extremely rare. Despite the annual increase in consumer satisfaction, owners report a decrease in the quality of the interior, equipment and maintenance. Official dealers significantly increase the cost of maintenance, especially in cases of repairing serious breakdowns.

The car that replaced the Mitsubishi Shariot Grandis is a spacious, well-equipped family minivan. The potential buyer is an adult family man with an above-average income.

Hello to everyone interested in Grandis cars! I found myself on this site since March 2012, thanks to a friend who has lived in Kamchatka for a long time and is an experienced user of Japanese women. And I became interested in minivans thanks to the acquisition of another friend of the Shariot MMC model. After looking at his photos, I liked this idea, and I started looking at them on the internet. But since I wanted a car no older than 7 years old, I started looking at the latest modifications. I immediately liked the look of Grandis. After reading the reviews on this site for some time, I almost decided on my choice, although I also looked at the reviews of Airtrack at the same time. Having gone to the market and felt them live, I still settled on Grandis and continued to consider a convenient option only among them. My family is growing and the size of Airtrek no longer suits me, although I must admit that he has a pretty appearance. But the richness and comfort of Grandis is still better, and at the same price for a used one. I also saw my Grandis from photographs on a sales website in Armenia, there were photographs of it taken back in Japan, for a couple of months it traveled to Yerevan, by sea to Georgia and then on its own. It so happened that when I entered the market and saw the first Grandis, I got into conversation with the owner, who imports cars from Japan. He had a 4x4 modification with cameras and parking sensors on display on the market, and during the conversation he invited me to his yard to look at another model, which turned out to be mine. When I saw my Grandis live, I immediately decided that this was what I wanted. Having agreed on the price, we decided to go to the workshops the next day and check the car. As you have already noticed in the photo and in the description, my model is called Sports Gear and it is clearly different from everything else model range Grandisov, both in front and along the entire perimeter, has been changed. The wheels are 17 and maybe that’s why it seems a little taller. When checking the car, I noticed the warning sign on the dashboard. The owner admitted that the diagnostics showed that it was possible faulty lambda sensor We began to think about how to make sure of this and how to solve this issue. Fortunately, he had a second Grandis and we tried to remove the working sensor from one car and install it on the second, but then we ran into a problem. We were unable to unscrew the sensor on a warm engine. The top right one was faulty. Unscrew it whole problem, needed special key, since a cable with a chip comes out of the sensor and the sensor itself is deep under the casing. But the craftsmen made such a key from heads with a slot on the side for cable exit. And even with this key it was not possible to unscrew it on a warm engine. The next morning, when the engine was cold, we first unscrewed the casing bolts, moved it away, and only then were we able to get to the lambda sensor. Replacing the sensors confirmed the diagnostic results, and all the warning signs disappeared. Then they carried out customs clearance in my name and immediately registered it in my name. The odometer showed 84,000 miles. And so, after driving for a week, I decided to change the engine oil (4L Castrol Magnatek 5W-40 C3 fully synthetik, cost about $65), when checking the oil in the box, it turned out that there was a smell and slight darkening, and since it is not known when the last time was it was changed, I decided to replace it (Mobil ATF 320 6l cost about $105), and also replaced fuel filter(getting it out is a little tedious), I had to remove the left back seat, open the mat and only there is a lid over the tank and itself fuel pump in one housing with a filter. The fastening bolts were difficult to unscrew and one was even cut off. Got by original filter fuel (or rather, this is the housing itself in which there is a filter, it was necessary to transfer the pump and level sensor from the old one) approximately $92. In one go, I immediately replaced the air filter on the engine ($26) and added a little less than a liter of antifreeze.

Then I just enjoyed the ride and comfort. The plans are still to wash the injectors, check the condition of the spark plugs and possibly replace them. I'm also thinking about buying winter kit tires with new wheels. You also need to replace the filter in the cabin, but when you turn on the air conditioning, first there is the smell of cigarettes, apparently the Japanese was a smoker with the windows closed. I will share information for those who do not know the location of the cabin filter. I found it myself through a book. You need to open the glove compartment and, squeezing the sides, remove the latches from the grooves, then it folds back completely, and behind it there is a lid, unscrewing which we can see cabin filter. About half a month later, the battery suddenly fell off, I had to buy a new one of the same type (small in size). For one thing, I bought wiring with alligator clips to connect the battery from another car (you can’t stay on the road if the battery suddenly runs out again). I also bought a foot pump and installed it inside the dock, in case something happened on a long road outside the city.

The machine is equipped remote control, as well as the buttons under door handles front doors and trunk. Without removing the remote control from your pocket, you can simply press the appropriate buttons to lock and unlock the car, which I will say is a very convenient thing, even opening and closing back door and fold the side mirrors. Locking and unlocking, as well as turning a special handle on the ignition switch, is possible when the remote control itself is within a radius of 1-1.5 m, i.e. while the remote control is in your pocket, you are recognized as the owner of the car and you do not need either keys or pressing the remote control buttons . Apparently the previous owner had strong fingers and he pressed the buttons of the left door so that the housing mount fell inside the door completely with my next press. You'll have to disassemble the door trim and figure out how to replace the button housing. At first I tried to unlock the panel myself, but since I had never had to do this before, I didn’t know where exactly the buttons were hidden, so I didn’t take the risk. I’ll find a normal craftsman with experience, and there we’ll think about solving this problem. In the meantime, the case was secured with tape from the outside. Moreover, the same fate awaits the housing of the buttons on the trunk. It is often used here. Left with with full hands groceries from the store, press the button with one finger and use it to open the trunk without using the remote control, very convenient!
I began to understand the display and the books in Japanese that were in the glove compartment. The books had a well-depicted multifunctional remote control, but the car didn’t have one. Then I contacted the guy from whom I rented the car. As a result, a couple of months later, this remote control was brought to me with another car from Japan. And now I’ll figure out how to use it. Judging by it, it can also be used as a phone. I'll post a photo of the remote control. The radio picks up only one of our channels on the FM frequency, the difference in standards affects it, well, in principle, this is enough for me, I’m not a fan of running through channels. I bought a couple of audio CDs and listen to them periodically. There is a 6-disc changer in the same housing as the standard audio system. I like the standard acoustics, I'm not complaining. True, for some reason the mp3 doesn’t want to be read, we’ll look into it later. I haven’t fully figured out DVD yet, I’m still in the process of learning how to operate it. The disadvantage of the display immediately becomes apparent during the day in bright sunshine; it is difficult to view information on the display.

As for fuel consumption. Judging by the readings on the display, it turns out in city mode about 14 liters per 100 km, accelerating in the city is not realistic, there are cameras all around), but I haven’t left the city yet. I'll try it outside the city soon. Initially, when I was looking at minivans, I imagined approximately this fuel consumption. The car consumes 95 gasoline, according to the instructions. I've seen some owners put gas cylinder in order to save on fuel. This thought also touched me, and when selecting a car, I simultaneously studied gas options. After reading a lot about gas equipment, I came to the conclusion that it makes no sense to install gas. Firstly, it takes up space in the trunk, does not allow the third row of seats to be folded, making it impossible to use the huge luggage compartment if necessary, and for family car it, this need, will arise often. Secondly, when traveling out of town, you can arrange a bedroom in the cabin by folding the chairs. But the presence of HBO in a single salon is still dangerous and inconvenient. Since I expected frequent trips out of town and to resorts with the whole family, the question of sufficient space in the trunk arose. My model has special racks for roof rails with boxes. On the next car that the former owner was going to bring from Japan, I noticed already installed roof rails from THULE. And we, having agreed on the price, transferred them upon the arrival of that car to mine. Now I'm choosing the box itself. But you need to select it, because the distance between the fastening of the roof rails has an insufficient tolerance of 71-79 cm. You can see it in the photo.

About the features of driving with right-hand drive. I’ll say right away that I didn’t have such experience, and for some time right-hand drive worried me, even when choosing among the Japanese. But when I got behind the wheel of my car for the first time, for a test drive, after a few kilometers I began to get used to it and the tension from right-hand drive gradually disappeared. The automatic transmission and comfort in the car do not bother you when driving with the right hand drive. On the third day I already began to forget how I drove for 18 years on the left hand drive) It was unusual to look to the left at first Side mirror If before it was enough to turn your eyes, now you have to turn your head. And when you look at both the left side and inside mirrors, the pictures change dramatically. The target sizes differ greatly and you get confused about the distance. When viewed through the inside mirror, the picture is dark due to the tinting of the rear windows and trunk, and the lighting in the left mirror is very different. For now this is only a minus, but over time I think I’ll get used to it. Well, the overtaking maneuver is annoying, especially if you drive behind roomy car on a narrow mountain road, where there is no time to emerge to look ahead and even have time to overtake. In one of the reviews, Grandisov noted how the owner installed a mirror under the windshield from the inside on the left to look ahead when overtaking big cars. I think I will do the same, I will select a convenient mirror...

Moreover, what I immediately did was order a book from Moscow about the Grandis, “The Device, Maintenance and repairs. Models since 2004 with a 4G69 (2.4L) engine” Legion-Avtodata publishing house. There are a lot of interesting and useful things there. And of course I read reviews from other Grandis owners. Over time I will add more reviews, but for now I’ll stop here...
