The hatchback meets almost all potholes with a soft roll and a complete absence of sound, creating a feeling of comfort. In addition, the pro cee’d stands confidently on a straight line and is not intimidating on longitudinal waves, even at a speed of 130 km/h.

It’s as if the FlexSteer system, which changes the force on the steering wheel, has also been tweaked: at least in the Normal mode, the car reacts to the steering wheel’s deflection without hesitation or delay. True, in “Sport” there is still the same constricted artificiality with a dip at “zero” and a very vague reactive action, which is why driving quickly around turns does not bring any pleasure.

And again, as soon as broken sections of the road begin to form a noticeable part of the road, the Kia shock absorbers can no longer cope with the increasing frequency of compression and rebound. Without having time to “work out” one pothole at speed, the second one encountered is already accompanied by an impact, transmitting shaking to the body. However, we never noticed the looseness that remained in our memory from the Ural test in the car.

Against the backdrop of the five-door version of the 2012 model, the driving characteristics of the Kia pro cee’d from “provoking complaints” turned into “neutral-everyday”, at least in conditions of everyday countryside and city use.
