Recently, the Mercedes-Benz company has presented a considerable number of interesting new products that have made a lot of noise in the automotive world. Remember at least the new GLC model, which was presented at an event that the company held in its homeland. However, the German brand presented the largest number of new products at the recent Geneva Motor Show. One of the most striking and interesting new products that was presented in Switzerland, the most interesting concept SUV G500 4x4 ?, which was shown in Geneva in acid yellow, which attracted additional attention to it. And although the car was initially presented as a concept, the company decided to launch it into mass production, thereby delighting all connoisseurs of good SUVs with amazing cross-country ability.

By the end of March, the number of new Hyundai Solaris sold by AvtoVAZ increased and became more than the number of Lada Priora sold. Quite a bit was not enough to reach the level of sales of Lada "Kalina", which is the leader in terms of sales. According to the AEB (Association of European Businesses) report, 10 592 new Hyundai Solaris vehicles were sold in Russia in March 2012. Compared to March 2011, this figure increased by 57%. And since the beginning of 2012, 27 072 Hyundai Solaris have already been sold.

The Hyundai Elantra is more than just another compact sedan, coupe and hatchback. This is an example of how quickly South Korean manufacturers are able to learn lessons, and how quickly they have traveled a journey that took decades for Japanese car companies. The Elantra came out of nowhere, but at the same time it was able to become a real bestseller, one of the best compact cars on the US market. It is now better than the Corolla, better than the Civic, and it competes with the Cruze and Focus. What's more, the Elantra has been honored as the 2012 North American Best Sedan.

The size and dimensions of a car are just as important as economy - this thesis is best embodied in the new version of the Hyundai Accent, which appeared in 2012 and underwent some changes in 2013. The car is bigger than before, it is much better equipped, and it pits itself against compact cars like the Fiat 500 and Ford Fiesta. The developers thought more about the financial attractiveness and practicality of the car, so it became closer to the Honda Fit and Nissan Versa, and in constructive terms it has a lot in common with the Kia Rio.

Hyundai Tucson general information (Hyundai Tussan / Tucson)

For the first time, Hyundai Tucson SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), which means "car for outdoor activities" (in Russia, cars of this class are called crossovers), was shown in February 2004 at an exhibition in Chicago, and its official premiere took place in March 2004 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is produced at the Hyundai Motor Company plant located in the city of Ulsan (South Korea). In addition to this, the company plans to start production of the Tucson car in 2008 in the city of Nosovice (Czech Republic). In the European market, Hyundai Tucson cars are offered in GL, GLS and LX trim levels.
Only the GLS configuration with three equipment levels is supplied to Russia. The basic equipment package includes a power window for all doors, velor or leather interior, automatic climate control, central locking, a self-dimming rear-view mirror with a built-in compass, an air quality control system, automatic control of external lighting (automatic headlights on), alloy wheels , electrically heated mirrors and front seats, engine compartment protection. For a surcharge, cruise control, fog lights, roof rails are installed.
The body is of the station wagon type, bearing, all-metal, welded structure with hinged front fenders, doors, hood and tailgate. For the Russian market, Hyundai Tucson cars are equipped with two gasoline engines located across the engine compartment: a four-cylinder in-line DOHC engine with a working volume of 2.0 liters and a six-cylinder V6 with a working volume of 2.7 liters. The 2.0-liter TCI diesel engine provided by the design is supplied only to the American and European markets. In this publication, the design of the engine is described in most detail using the example of the DOHC engine as the most common in Russia, the differences are others. engines are specified separately.

On cars for the Russian market with a DOHC engine, a 5-speed manual transmission is installed, and with a V6 engine, a 4-speed sequential (with the possibility of manual control) automatic transmission SHIFTRONIC. Both gearboxes are interlocked with transfer cases, since cars are supplied to Russia only with permanent front-wheel drives and with automatically connected all-wheel drives of the Torque-on-Demand type, equipped with an electronically controlled interaxle clutch (with the possibility of manual locking) from Borg-Warner for connecting the rear wheels. In addition, not all-wheel drive cars (only with front-wheel drive) are supplied to the European market, but only front-wheel drive ones to the American market. Front suspension of MacPherson type, independent, spring, with anti-roll bar, with hydraulic shock-absorber struts. The rear suspension is independent, spring, multi-link, with anti-roll bar, with hydraulic shock-absorber struts.
The brakes of all wheels are disc with a floating caliper, and the discs of the front brakes are ventilated. Parking brake drum mechanisms are built into the rear wheel brakes. All vehicles are equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS) with optional Traction Control System (TCS) and Dynamic Stability Control (ESP).
The steering is injury-free, with a gear-rack-type steering mechanism with a variable gear ratio, equipped with a hydraulic booster. The steering column is tilt adjustable. A front airbag is installed in the steering wheel hub (as well as in front of the front passenger). Additionally (by order), side airbags are installed for the driver and front passenger, as well as inflatable curtains located on both sides of the ceiling above the front and rear doors. Hyundai Tucson cars are equipped with a centralized control system for door locks with locking of all doors with a key on the driver's door, as well as a button on the key fob. All vehicles are equipped with inertia diagonal seat belts for the driver, front passenger and rear seat passengers.

Design features
On Hyundai Tucson cars intended for the Russian market, transversely located gasoline four-stroke injection engines are installed: a four-cylinder 16-valve in-line model G4GC (DOHC, 142 hp) with a displacement of 2.0 liters and a six-cylinder 24-valve V-shaped mod. G6BA (V6, 175 hp) with a working volume of 2.7 liters. The G4GC engine is equipped with a variable valve timing system for intake valves (CVVT). This section describes in detail the design and repair methods of the engine. The G4GC engine is the most widely installed on cars. The design and some aspects of maintenance and repair of the G6BA engine are given in a separate section "Design features of the G6BA engine".
The G4GC overhead camshaft engine has four valves per cylinder. The exhaust camshaft is driven by a reinforced toothed belt. Belt tension is provided by a tension roller. The intake camshaft is driven by the CVVT sprocket on the exhaust camshaft by a single-row roller chain tensioned by a spring tensioner. The valves are driven directly from the camshafts through cylindrical pushers, in the upper grooves of which calibrated washers are installed, which serve as adjusting elements for the clearances in the drive.

Lubrication system - design features
The lubrication system is combined: the most loaded parts are lubricated under pressure, and the rest are lubricated either by directed splashing, or by splashing oil flowing out of the gaps between the mating parts. The pressure in the lubrication system is generated by a gear oil pump mounted externally at the front of the cylinder block and driven from the front end of the crankshaft. The pump is made with internal trochoidal gearing.
The pump sucks oil from the engine oil sump through an oil receiver with a strainer, and then, through a full-flow oil filter with a porous paper filter element, supplies it to the main oil line located in the cylinder block body. The oil supply channels to the main bearings of the crankshaft depart from the main line. Oil is supplied to the connecting rod bearings through channels made in the crankshaft body. From the main oil line there is a vertical oil supply channel to the camshaft bearings. In addition, oil is supplied under pressure from the main oil line of the engine to the variable valve timing system and to the intake camshaft chain tensioner.
To lubricate the camshaft bearings, oil from the vertical channel enters the central axial channels of the camshafts through a radial hole in the journal of one of the bearings and is distributed along them to the rest of the bearings. The camshaft cams are lubricated with oil coming from the center axle channels through the radial holes in the cams. Excess oil is drained from the block head into the oil sump through vertical drain channels. Changing the engine oil and oil filter is described in "Maintenance", "Changing the engine oil and oil filter", removal and installation of the oil pump are discussed in the next subsection.

    INTRODUCTION

Hyundai Tucson is named after a North American city in the state of Arizona. In the language of the indigenous people of the Pima tribe, the word "tucson" means "spring at the foot of the black mountain."
This representative of the SUV class in the best way combines characteristics for daily use with solid off-road qualities. It has a sporty appearance and a reserve of power for active driving.
The swift and eye-catching look gives the car the bold masculine features that buyers traditionally want to see in an SUV. Its main advantages are versatility and practicality. The front view is quite impressive. The Tucson has a relatively large front grille and headlights that blend in with the bonnet lines and fender flares. The front bumper is a large, large molding that starts immediately from the radiator grille downwards, has three large air intakes and two fog lights (on models where they are), and then a spoiler is formed from it. The exterior of the Tucson is noticeably enlivened by alloy wheels, roof rails and protective plastic covers for the body and bumpers. The twin tailpipes of the exhaust system give it a special sporty chic.
Adds confidence 195 mm of ground clearance, which allow in practice to prove that the "off-road look" is not a hoax for future owners.
The car has a permanently connected all-wheel drive and when driving on dry asphalt, up to one hundred percent of the tractive effort is transmitted to the front axle. If necessary (for example, when cornering or in a skid), the rear axle is connected, and on off-road terrain, at the touch of a button, you can switch to the forced symmetric distribution of traction between the axles.
The athletic exterior hides a comfortable, highly functional interior. One of the distinguishing features of the new SUV is the spacious interior, in which the driver and passengers will feel very comfortable. Convenient and functional dashboard, the steering wheel does not cover the instruments, everything is in plain sight. The sensor indication is visible even when the sun hits them. The dashboard contains three elements, with a large speedometer in the center and smaller tachometer and fuel gauge on the sides.
The rear row of seats folds down nicely. Moreover, when you transform the backrest, the pillow moves, allowing you to form an absolutely flat surface - very smart and convenient. The front passenger seat can also be folded down to provide space for long items to be transported or to create a comfortable table for a lone driver. The walls of the luggage compartment are finished with plastic, the net and the socket are not forgotten. The large luggage compartment can be hidden with the solid luggage compartment. Large washable rubber mat covers the hidden storage area under the floor. There are six elements for securing cargo to the side of the vehicle to protect the cargo, as well as three hooks for attaching bags. The rear door glass can be opened, which is very convenient when the car is loaded with a “headband”.
The car is delivered to Russia with a 2.7-liter V6 DOHC engine with 175 hp. and a 2-liter DOHC CVVT four-cylinder with 142 hp. Both engines run on 92m petrol and are mated to a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
Independent McPherson suspension at the front and independent multi-link at the rear create the right mood while driving. On the go, the Tucson is easy to handle and, despite its high seating position, is capable of maneuvering well over a wide range of speeds.
Safety is provided by crumple zones and airbags, both front and side, together with curtains. Plus, the standard equipment includes many electronic systems (ABS, EBD, TCS, TOD), as well as full power accessories, audio preparation and much more. A tire pressure sensor can be installed at an additional cost. In 2006, the vehicle received the highest 5-star rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The simplest configuration includes climate control, ABS, radio, heated front seats and mirrors, roof rails and protection for the engine compartment, as well as fog lights, power windows on all doors, alloy wheels. Installation of additional options is possible.
Hyundai Tucson aims to become a symbol of success, freedom, youth and sporting spirit. A worthy representative of the Hyundai lineup, this car has become its own in the league of light SUVs, while maintaining a small gap in price from its more famous and "promoted" classmates. And this is its peculiarity and advantage.
This manual covers the operation and repair of Hyundai Tucson, both with gasoline and diesel engines, produced since 2003: A prerequisite for the reliable operation of any vehicle and the safety of personnel is strict adherence to the instructions for repair and maintenance. The methods and descriptions given in the Manual provide general principles for performing repair and maintenance work using effective techniques and methods.
The applied methods and techniques of performing work, tools, devices and used spare parts, as well as the degree of skill of the performers are very diverse. It is impossible to give instructions or warnings for every case of performing work in accordance with this manual. Therefore, every time you use spare parts, techniques or tools and devices not recommended by the car manufacturer, you should first firmly make sure that the used spare parts, methods or tools will not compromise the safety of personnel and the serviceability of the car.
The book can be used in the repair and maintenance of Kia Sportage II cars (from 2005 onwards)

Direction indicator warning lamps - flashing direction indicator lamps are made in the form of green arrows. If one of the lamps lights up with a constant light or blinks with an increased frequency or does not light up, this indicates a malfunction in the direction indicator circuits.

ABS malfunction indicator lamp (optional) - The ABS malfunction indicator lamp comes on for a few seconds after the ignition key is in the "ON" ("ignition") position, then goes out. If this lamp does not go out, lights up while driving, or does not light up after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position, this indicates a malfunction of the ABS. In this case, have the ABS checked by your authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. If the ABS fails, the braking system remains functional.

ATTENTION
- If the ABS warning lamp and the parking brake / brake fluid level warning lamp remain on at the same time, this indicates a possible malfunction of the Electronic Brake Force Distribution (E.B.D.).
- In this case, avoid heavy braking and have the vehicle checked by your Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.

Traction control warning lamp (additional equipment) - the lighting of the sectors of this warning lamp depends on the position of the ignition key in the lock and on whether the system is on or not. They should light up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position and go out after three seconds. If the TCS-OFF lamp does not go out, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.

Trajectory stabilization system (ESP) warning lamp (optional equipment) - the illumination of the sectors of this warning lamp depends on the position of the ignition key in the lock and on whether the system is on or off.

The sectors of the test lamp should light up when the ignition key is set to the "ON" ("Ignition") position and go out after three seconds. If the "ESP" or "ESP OFF" lamp does not go out, take the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer to have the system checked.

Control lamp for turning on the high beam headlights - the lamp lights up when the high beam headlights are turned on and the high beam headlights are signaled.

Control lamp of insufficient oil pressure.

ATTENTION
- If the oil pressure warning lamp illuminates while the engine is running, this indicates a risk of serious damage to the engine. The control lamp lights up when there is insufficient oil pressure in the engine lubrication system. If the oil pressure is normal, the lamp comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes out after starting the engine.
- If the lamp remains on when the engine is running, then this indicates a serious malfunction of the lubrication system.
- In this case, stop driving as soon as possible, stop the engine and check the oil level. If the level is insufficient, add oil to the standard, then start the engine.
If the lamp remains on after this, stop the engine immediately. In all cases when the lamp is on with the engine running, further operation of the vehicle is possible only after having the engine checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.

Control lamp for activating the parking brake and insufficient brake fluid level.

ATTENTION
If in doubt that the braking system is working properly, have it checked by your Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. Operating your vehicle with faulty electrical components and hydraulic brake systems is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death.

The parking brake and brake fluid level warning light comes on when the parking brake is on and the ignition key is in the "ON" or "START" position. After starting the engine and disengaging the parking brake, the lamp should go out. When the parking brake is not engaged, the lamp lights up when the ignition key is set to the "ON" or "START" position, and goes out after starting the engine. If the lamp comes on, in any other case, it is necessary to reduce the speed of movement and stop the car in a safe place on the road. In this case, the warning lamp lighting up indicates an emergency decrease in the level of brake fluid in the brake system and the need to restore it to normal by adding brake fluid that meets the DOT 3 and DOT 4 specifications.

If, after re-establishing the brake fluid level, no other malfunctions are found, you must immediately, using caution, bring the vehicle to a Hyundai dealer for inspection. If other malfunctions of the braking system are found, further movement must be stopped and the car must be taken to a Hyundai dealer using the evacuation service or by some other means.

Your vehicle is equipped with a diagonally split braking system. This means that in the event of failure of one of the circuits, the brakes of the other two wheels of the car continue to work. If one of the hydraulic brake circuits fails, the brake pedal travel increases, and more pedal effort is required to stop the vehicle. This increases the braking distance of the vehicle. If the brake system malfunctions while driving, use engine braking in a low gear and bring the vehicle to a safe place as soon as possible.

ATTENTION
Diesel vehicles:
- The control lamp for activating the parking brake and insufficient brake fluid level lights up when the vacuum in the vacuum brake booster reaches a value not exceeding 274 mm Hg. The vacuum brake booster acts on the vacuum reserve when the brake pedal is depressed, which is significantly reduced each time the pedal is released. When the vacuum reserve is completely used up, the car can be braked by increasing the effort on the brake pedal, but in this case the braking distance can be significantly increased. If the warning lamp lights up in any other case, stop the car in a safe place off the road.
- After starting the engine, do not start driving until the vacuum reaches a value no higher than about 275 mm Hg. and the control lamp will not go out. If any other malfunctions of the braking system appear, the movement should be stopped and the evacuation service should be contacted to deliver the car to the dealer.

Control lamp for charging the battery - the lamp should light up when the ignition is turned on and go out after starting the engine. If the lamp does not extinguish when the engine is running, this does not indicate a malfunction of the battery charging system. If the lamp comes on while the car is moving, stop driving, stop the engine, open the hood and first of all check if the alternator drive belt is in place. If it is in place, check its tension. Then have your Hyundai dealer perform a system check.

ATTENTION
Poor tension, separation or loss of the alternator drive belt while the vehicle is moving will cause serious engine malfunction, and the engine will overheat. this belt also drives the water pump.

Indicator lamp and sound signaling device for unclosed side doors - the lamp lights up until the doors are tightly closed, and the sound signaling device works if the driver's door is not tightly closed.

Note:
To prevent the driver from forgetting to leave the key in the locked car, the control lamp comes on when the ignition key is set to the “LOCK” position, if one of the doors is not closed. The buzzer is activated only if the key is in the "LOCK" position and the driver's door is not closed. The buzzer is working and the lamp is on until the key is removed from the ignition.

Fuel reserve indicator lamp - the lamp lights up when the fuel level in the tank drops to the reserve quantity level. When it lights up, you need to refuel as soon as possible. If you continue to drive with the fuel reserve indicator lamp lit or when the fuel level is below the “E” mark, the engine will experience misfires of the working mixture, which will damage the catalytic converter.

Tailgate open warning lamp - the lamp remains on until the tailgate is tightly closed and locked.

Airbag warning lamp (optional equipment) - The airbag warning lamp remains on for about 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" ("ignition") position or when the engine is started, then goes out.

This lamp also illuminates when the optional restraint system is malfunctioning. If the airbag warning lamp does not illuminate or extinguish after turning the ignition key to the "ON" (IGNITION) position or after starting the engine, or illuminates while the vehicle is moving, have the optional SRS restraint system checked by your authorized Hyundai dealer.

Engine malfunction indicator lamp (additional equipment) - the lamp lights up when the elements related to the exhaust gas emission control system are malfunctioning, and when the system malfunctions, causing the exhaust gas toxicity standards to be exceeded. The lamp also comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position and goes out after starting the engine. If it lights up while driving or does not light up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position, take the vehicle to your nearest Hyundai Dealer to have the system checked.

Four-wheel drive indicator lamp (optional equipment) - the four-wheel drive indicator lamp lights up when the ignition key is set to the "ON" position and goes out after a few seconds.

ATTENTION
If the four-wheel drive warning lamp flashes while driving, this indicates a malfunction of the four-wheel drive system. In this case, take the car to an authorized Hyundai dealer for inspection as soon as possible.

Center differential lock warning lamp (optional equipment) - the center differential lock warning lamp in the instrument cluster lights up when the lock switch is pressed. Locking is designed to increase traction on the wheels when driving on dry roads, wet hard surfaces, on snow or off-road. When the lock switch is pressed again, the lamp goes out.

ATTENTION
Do not use the center differential lock on dry hard surfaces or on freeways. This will cause noise, increased vibration and damage to the AWD system.

Seat Belt Not Fastened Warning Lamp (Optional Equipment) - The lamp blinks for approximately 6 seconds when the ignition key is turned from the OFF position to the ON or START position ).

Immobilizer warning lamp (optional equipment) - when the ignition key is in the "ON" position, the lamp is on for a few seconds, during which you can start the engine. After starting the engine, the lamp goes out. If the lamp goes out before you start the engine, set the key to the "LOCK" position and start again. If the lamp blinks for 5 seconds when the ignition key is set to "ON", this indicates that the immobilizer is out of order. In this case, use the Emergency Engine Start Procedure (see pages 1-5) or contact your Authorized Hyundai Dealer.

Cruise control indicator lamp (optional) - The cruise control indicator lamp in the instrument cluster lights up when you press the main system switch located at the end of the drum switch. When the main switch is pressed again, the lamp should go out.

Control lamp for preheating (vehicles with a diesel engine) - the lamp lights up yellow when the ignition key is set to the "ON" position. As soon as the preheating lamp goes out, you can start the engine. The duration of the lamp burning varies depending on the coolant temperature, the air temperature and the condition of the battery.

Note:
If within 10 seconds after the end of the preheating (after the control lamp goes out) the engine does not start, turn the ignition key back to the “LOCK” position, then to the “ON” position to repeat the preheating cycle.

Control lamp for the presence of water in the fuel filter (vehicles with a diesel engine) - the lamp comes on when the ignition key is set to the "ON" position and goes out after starting the engine. If the lamp is on while the engine is running, this indicates the presence of water in the fuel filter.

EXTERIOR LIGHT NON-SWITCHED BEEP (OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT)

The buzzer comes on when the driver's door is opened and the outside lighting is not turned off to prevent the battery from discharging when the car is left with the lights on. When the lighting is turned off, the signaling stops.

AUDIBLE BRAKE PAD WEAR SIGNAL (OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT)

Front disc brake pads have wear indicators that emit a squealing or squeaking sound that indicates the need to replace the brake pads. When the vehicle is in motion, this sound may appear and disappear, or be constant. It can also be heard when the brake pedal is pressed firmly. Worn pads cause accelerated wear on the brake discs. Contact your Hyundai dealer immediately.

PARKING BRAKE NOT RELEASED BEEP (OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT)

The warning lamp comes on if the car with the parking brake on is moving for more than 2-3 seconds at a speed of 3 km / h.

BEEP BELT BEEP SIGNALING (OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT)

The alarm sounds for 6 seconds if the driver starts driving without fastening the seat belt.

COMBINATION OF INSTRUMENTS

When the switch lever is moved from the middle position downwards, the left turn indicators are turned on, and when the lever is moved up, the right turn indicators are turned on. When the turn is complete, the switch lever automatically returns to the center position and the direction indicators turn off. If one of the indicator lamps of the direction indicators flashes with an increased frequency or lights up, but does not flash, or does not light up at all, this indicates a malfunction in the circuits of the direction indicators.
