This suspension element reduces body roll but shortens suspension travel when off-road. Actually, for everyday use, the rear stabilizer is a plus, because the car's handling becomes more predictable.

As for the power units, the buyers of the domestic SUV are offered diesel and gasoline engines. Full-time four-wheel drive and 5-speed manual transmission. There is also an electrically operated 2-speed transfer case. In normal mode, the car is rear-wheel drive; for off-road driving, you can connect front-wheel drive. Next, let's talk in more detail about the characteristics of the Patriot engines.

The gasoline inline 4-cylinder ZMZ-40905 with a timing chain drive, fuel injection and a 16-valve mechanism has a working volume of 2.7 liters. The power unit is 128 hp. with a torque of 210 Nm. Fuel consumption on the highway exceeds 11.5 liters, in urban conditions, fuel consumption is about 20 liters. AI-92 gasoline is used as fuel.

Diesel ZMZ-51432 with a working volume of 2.3 liters produces only 114 hp. however, the torque is already 270 Nm. Bosch Common Rail fuel injection makes the engine more economical and more powerful than its gasoline counterpart. Diesel consumption in mixed mode is only about 9 liters. In the timing drive, there is also a chain.

The goals of the STC of OJSC "UAZ" are to make a car that meets the requirements of the consumer as much as possible, so that in terms of the availability of options and, ultimately, in terms of quality, it will bring it closer to the best examples of automotive technology in its niche. We work in all areas of modernization, from improving technological processes, improving the quality of components and ending with an increase in the level of performing discipline.
In combination with changes in the design, this has made it possible to double the reliability of the car over the past two years, which is a good result. And now about what is planned to be done across the entire model range of "UAZ".

Let's start with the fact that in the near future all cars in accordance with the law will have to meet the requirements Euro 5... STC specialists are successfully working on this in accordance with the schedule.
The main design tasks are practically completed, then the stage of industrialization follows, that is, preparations are underway for the production of the neutralization system at the supplier, and the controllers and software at Bosch.

Currently, cars of the entire model range are completing winter tests at the proving ground in Sweden... There, together with Bosch, the final calibration of the machines takes place.


As for the flagship enterprise model - UAZ Patriot, then the work on it does not end with the release of the updated version, which started in October 2014. They continue in accordance with the adopted project for the near and more distant prospects.

For example, the introduction of new upholstery side doors, which will allow the version - in the "Limited" configuration to install high-frequency speakers in the front and oversized speakers in the rear doors. Thus, instead of four speakers in today's configuration, there will be six-channel audio... Not only will the interior design improve, but also the quality of the speakers themselves, the sound. Moreover, the peculiarity of the new upholstery is that it will hide the inner seals for the windows.

One of the structural changes will be the transition to a more reliable and less noisy main pair with an increased gear ratio - 4,625 instead of 4.11. This will give the car more dynamics and, paradoxically, by improving the elasticity of traction, will reduce gas mileage.

It is also planned to introduce frameless wiper blades, and at the request of consumers, they will return under the hood gas stops.

STC specialists are currently working to reduce the stiffness of the seat padding foam, since the opinions of consumers on this matter are divided. So, we will try to find a compromise in this matter in order to satisfy the needs of both those people who prefer hard seats in German and those who prefer softer seats.

Since the UAZ Patriot is a fairly large SUV designed today for operation not only in off-road conditions, but also in the city, in order to facilitate maneuvering in a metropolis, we decided to equip it, again in a version version, not only with the rear, but also with the front parking sensors.

For various reasons, there will be a significant update dashboard... Its design will change, it will be made of more practical hard plastic, as is customary in this price range. Additional decorative elements will also appear - chrome-plated and titanium-colored inserts. The new instrument panel will contain a number of new systems, including front airbags for both driver and passenger.

It is planned to introduce a new installation of air conditioning, ventilation and heating, which will allow better heating of the passenger compartment without the help of an additional heater, and a real climate control... The control of the climate system will also noticeably improve, a small display will appear.

A new light control module will also be used, and the function buttons will acquire a soft smooth ride, like in modern cars. In the configuration, where the dashboard will go without a passenger airbag, another glove compartment will appear in its place. The main glove compartment, at the request of the client, will be made in versions with air conditioning, with cooling function.

Paddles switches will become completely new, and their functionality will expand. It will be possible to adjust the frequency of sweeps of the wipers and it will be possible to control the trip computer from the steering column switch.

Steering column will be replaced with a new modern foreign-made mechanism, which allows it to be adjusted in sufficient ranges not only in height, but also in reach.

Wheel in a luxury design, it will acquire the brand name - "Uazovskaya gull", made in the form of a separate chrome-plated injury-safe part. It will display control buttons for the audio system and telephone, cruise control. In expensive versions, the steering wheel will be leather, with a possible heating function.

The plans to update the UAZ Patriot family include the installation of new seat belts, including with a pretensioner.

The luxury version also provides for the installation of an electronic system directional stability with all the options that today are already quite common in this functionality, including imitation of work differential locks, hill start help.

Will appear Rain sensor and light, that is, the dipped beam will automatically turn on when entering darkened places and the windshield wipers - during rain. The luxury equipment UAZ Patriot will be offered to the consumer with a leather interior. We will also bring back the armrest with integrated cup holders in the rear seat. The design of the handbrake levers and the gear knob will be changed to a more modern design, including with a leather cover. Eighteen-inch light-alloy wheels will receive a more attractive design.

As for the exterior of the Patriot, in 2014, in my opinion, a lot was done in this regard, so we are not planning to change anything else in the near future. Today we focus on improving the quality and consumer properties of the car.

To improve the vibroacoustic comfort, we are engaged in the suspension of the power unit and body panels, we are also working towards increasing the controllability and stability of the car.

Separately, I would like to highlight the topic of integration into UAZ Patriot automatic transmission... STC specialists have done some work in this direction. The supplier of the automatic transmission has already been determined, but, unfortunately, the current situation with the exchange rate has cast doubt on this project, since the gap in the surcharge for a car with an automatic transmission compared to a mechanical one has increased significantly. Now this project is under consideration from the point of view of economic feasibility. If a positive decision is made, there will be no problems with the introduction of automatic transmission from the technical side.


The lineup UAZ Cargo we plan to develop in the direction of increasing the carrying capacity.
It is currently being manufactured on the chassis of a pickup truck, and will later be transferred to new cargo platform... While maintaining the single-row cab, we will lengthen the base, which will allow us to make the cargo platform of decent dimensions. In order to increase the carrying capacity and reliability, the "patriotic" rear axle and suspension will be replaced with new ones, but the same increased ground clearance will remain.
In order to increase the cross-country ability, the rear wheels will shed.
To improve the maneuverability of UAZ Cargo, to reduce the turning circle, we are currently working on a new design steering knuckle, which we plan to introduce with a certain modification also on the UAZ Patriot.

Cabin Today UAZ Cargo is no different from the UAZ Patriot cab. In the future, a more pragmatic design of the cab is planned, as is customary for trucks, but comfort will be preserved. Thus, the consumer will receive a rather comfortable truck with a brutal appearance. The bumper, headlights, mirrors will be replaced with cheaper, more practical ones.

In the interior, while maintaining the comfort elements, a number of innovations are also provided - a different roof upholstery, a ceiling console for storing A4 documents.

The UAZ Cargo truck will be manufactured in 4x2 design, that is, it will mainly mono-drive but there will be four-wheel drive versions as well.

Considering the installation issue gas equipment, if due to the situation on the foreign exchange market, it does not lose its economic feasibility.

Firstly, with the aim of unification, work is underway to transfer the entire model range of "UAZ", including the "loaf", from the "Timken" bridges to " Spicer". New constructive seats and design will become more comfortable, with the functions of heating and longitudinal adjustment of the driver's seat. And with the entry into force of legislation related to the introduction of three-point diagonal seat belts, they will be installed on the SGR.
It is also planned to introduce a number of measures in order to improve the noise insulation of cars.

From January 1, 2017, all vehicles put into circulation on the territory of the countries of the Customs Union must be equipped with transport terminals " ERA-GLONASS". It is an emergency response system in case of accidents based on the European standard eCall / E112. It was developed for joint use with the GLONASS global satellite navigation system on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation. "ERA GLONASS" is a satellite vehicle monitoring system and is designed to automatically alert emergency response services in case of accidents and other emergencies, which will reduce the rate of deaths and injuries on the roads. Many were looking for a big rogue, on which it is not scary to drive even on the most difficult off-road sections and not fall into any hole. An old UAZ is irrevocably outdated, and therefore consumers needed something new and interesting. This is how the first Patriot appeared.

And now the automaker has presented the first global restyling. The world premiere will take place just the other day. But now we can offer you a more than a detailed review of the novelty, which retained its name UAZ Patriot 2015 2016 model year, but at the same time received a number of innovations compared to the pre-styling version.

Therefore, sit down more comfortably, as you will find an excursion into the exterior, interior, technical characteristics and equipment of a very interesting and potentially demanded Russian SUV.

Exterior

Already from the photo and video materials it is clear that the restyling has benefited the Patriot. The car began to look modern, stylish, even more impressive and interesting. The Ulyanovsk specialists did not work in vain on the project. There is a result, and it cannot but rejoice.

Even in spite of the fact that there were no global changes in appearance, point changes made it possible to give the Patriot a certain zest, the right to claim the title of the most stylish domestic SUV.

The front end is distinguished primarily by the new head optics and daytime running lights. In the top-end configuration, you can even get LED running lights. The radiator grill has also changed, which now has three arcs and a small manufacturer's nameplate. The car also received a new bumper, which is not attached to the frame at all, as it was before, but directly to the body. As a result, the car lost the huge slots that were present on the pre-styling version. Front fog lights, a new bumper did not negatively affect cross-country ability. The SUV both had a huge ground clearance and kept it.

The side view is equally brutal both in a regular body and in a pickup modification. The flat roofline, large doors, solid trunk, modern exterior mirrors with built-in repeaters provide a very interesting profile of the UAZ Patriot 2015-2016.

At the back, the bumper has changed, which, like the front, is attached to the body, and not to the frame. This eliminated unnecessary gaps and gaps between the elements. The manufacturer also changed the shape of the dimensions, installed an LED brake light at the very top of the tailgate.

It should be added that now all the glass on the car is glued, and an industrial robot is fully responsible for this task. There are fewer complaints about the build quality of the car as a whole than before. If the manufacturer had called the updated SUV not restyled, but attributed it to a new generation, no one would be particularly against it.

Despite the fact that UAZ Patriot 2016 got new bumpers, got modern rear-view mirrors, the dimensions have not changed anyway. Therefore, the indicators remained as follows:

Interior

It often happens that the manufacturer makes adjustments to the exterior, but leaves the interior practically intact, believing that everything is fine there. Fortunately, UAZ did not decide to do this with its SUV, but continued modernization even in the cabin.

Despite the fact that the front seats are of domestic production, their quality turned out to be at a high level, just like comfort. As a result, the comfortable backrest profile, pronounced lateral support, as well as the ability to adjust the chairs in different boards make them very desirable and comfortable. But if earlier, to adjust the height, it was required to get up, open the door, and with the door open to get access to the necessary handle, now the settings are carried out without these procedures. The hand easily reaches the handle when the driver is sitting on the seat.

As soon as the driver settles comfortably in his rightful place, modern devices, a trip computer, and an outside air temperature sensor appear before his eyes. The only upsetting thing is the presence of an old, insanely outdated steering wheel and a completely inexpressive gear knob. Fortunately, the manufacturer promised to correct this oversight in the near future and offer not just a multifunctional steering wheel, but also a heating system for it. The new gear knob will not appear, so you will have to wait for the next restyling, or already a new generation of the domestic SUV.

The center console may contain various equipment, depending on the configuration. But most of all, I would like to pay attention to the top-end configuration, since in it you will receive a full-fledged multimedia center with a 7-inch screen with Full HD resolution.

Tell me, could you even have imagined even a few years ago that such a simple domestic SUV as the UAZ Patriot 2015 2016 will receive a seven-inch touchscreen? Unlikely. And what about the rear view camera? Absolutely not. But they are still present. Even in the most expensive configuration, they are present.

Rear passengers also have a lot to rejoice in, as the seats are now new, plus they are complemented by special mountings for child seats. Legroom is noticeably larger as the rear row mounts have been pushed back. As a result - plus 80 millimeters of free space compared to the pre-styling version. Unfortunately, now it will not be possible to adjust the backrest by the angle of inclination. But it’s not that bad.

If the rear row is folded down, you get 1200 liters of free space for loading luggage. Since the width of the luggage opening has also been increased, loading has become even easier. There are no special complaints about the materials of the interior and trunk trim. Plus, the presence of a 12-volt outlet in the luggage compartment is pleasantly surprising.

So far, UAZ has not clearly formed the configuration options for its updated SUV, but we can list some equipment that will be included in the basic and optional equipment:

If we talk about prices, then, paradoxically, there is something to talk about. And all because the price tags have already been announced for the restyled UAZ Patriot.

For version with gasoline engine and with different levels of equipment you will have to give from 650 to 750 thousand rubles... Diesel Patriot will cost a little more. Its starting cost is 750 thousand rubles, and in maximum equipment such a domestic SUV will cost the buyer 870 thousand rubles.

Since the UAZ was bought by the family not the first (and not the second) car, I will involuntarily compare it with another car I have: "MMC Pajero 4" 2012, which, in general, is, in my opinion, fair. Having similar configurations, dimensions, weight and engine volume (2.7 vs 3.0), they can be called classmates without a stretch, despite the different transmissions and price category.

What can you do? Well, I love auto tourism! But since our region is remote, and does not have a developed road network, then, accordingly, all travels in Kamchatka are closely connected with off-road transport. In recent years, on the streets of our towns you can see a lot of prepared vehicles from compact SUVs such as "Suzuki Jimny" to rotational vehicles based on GAZ-66, Uralov, Kamaz. There really is something to see in Kamchatka, therefore, especially in the summer months, this all-terrain community is sharply activated. Someone carries tourists, someone is looking for entertainment himself. Carried away a few years ago by ATVs, I, with a company of like-minded people, visited many beautiful places in the Kamchatka Territory. But the ATV, in addition to its amazing cross-country ability, has one very big drawback. This is a problem in overcoming fords on mountain rivers! In addition, it is problematic to go to a quad train with a family, especially along an extreme route. Gradually "kvadrobanda" dried up to two people, and the ride became boring. But new familiar jeepers appeared ...

In general, the question arose about purchasing a jeep within 600 thousand rubles, for trips to nature in the summer and for a trouble-free ride on snowy winter days for my son, since his front-wheel drive Teana 2 is not the best means of transportation on the snow-covered hills of P-Kamchatsky. In the fall of 2014, I started a leisurely search. The emphasis in search was on the Prado and TLC 80s of the late 90s. The Kamchatka market, although it has the highest density of jeeps per capita in the country, but finding a good car in a small region turned out to be another challenge ... Within the planned amount, there were zero copies "squeezed out". And the price for "live" ones started from 1 million rubles. (Yes! Do not be surprised! This is for almost twenty years old cars!) In addition, the complicated economic situation in November reduced the possibility of a successful purchase to almost nothing! Just at this time, I came across an article from the magazine "Behind the Wheel" about the restyling of the car "UAZ Patriot". After reading reviews on the Internet, I realized that by the manufacturer's efforts the car was almost cured of serious ailments, leaving, however, a bunch of "childhood" illnesses!

I will say right away: of course there were fears, but I was not very afraid to buy a Russian car. From my own experience, I know that an almost nameless ATV from the Rybinsk plant (after skillfully performed after-sales preparation) is capable of delivering less problems in two years of tough operation than a branded Kawasaki in six months. In addition, a huge number of "Pariots" on the roads indirectly indicated that the car in the region is popular, despite being spoiled by reliable Japanese.

In general, I went to meet him at a car dealership. There were still pre-styling cars there, but they were all already sold. The manager offered a choice of only two free (already restyled) cars at a price of 815 thousand rubles, but with delivery in January 2015. Everything, in connection with the beginning of the excitement, has already been bought out. After sitting in the car, looking into all the cracks, he noted for himself that the impression was better than expected. Sit comfortably and spaciously. The design as a whole is competent. He did not dare to conclude an agreement right away, but called his son so that he would also come and see if, with his tall stature, it would be convenient for him to manage the Patriot. When the next day I arrived at the salon with the money, all the cars had already been sold, and the next delivery was expected in March-April at an unknown price so far. That's how I ended up, in the blink of an eye, managed to lose several tens of thousands of rubles ...

The manager called a couple of weeks later and made me happy with the news that you can come to make an advance payment for the car if I agree to pay for it ... 870 thousand! They promised to release it in February and deliver it to Kamchatka in April. Since the deferred amount, in dollar terms, had already dropped below the plinth by that time, in mid-December, cursing, I went and signed a contract for a petrol, yellow-silver Patrick in the "Limited" configuration. For the remaining pennies, even at the old prices, I bought a Come Up 12000 winch and Nokian Hakkapelitta LT 265 / 75-16 studded tires on R16 disks with ET 15 offset. So strangely I have never completed my cars before - a year before the possible use having acquired dopas for a car that does not exist in nature)))

Months of waiting flew by… In the evenings I was poking around on the Internet, smoking the UAZ forums.

I'll start with the look.

Exterior: (my mark is 4 points on a five-point system).

As they say about tastes, there is no dispute, but I like its appearance, like the vast majority, the moss of my acquaintances. In a word - a classic that never gets old! The view is spoiled only by disproportionately small wheels. Convenient wide footrest (more comfortable than Pajero's) allows you to stand up with your entire foot. Although I would have preferred the pre-styling version of the footpegs (it was possible to back up behind them in the mud). The quality of the painting is, to put it mildly, lousy! A clean car in the sun, if you look closely, looks spotty. This problem is only with silver cars and is seen not only on my copy. Rather, the problem is in low-quality painting equipment or in the curvature of factory painters. If you look at the light along the side, you can see that the entire tin is wavy. The lines of the body embossings are uneven and do not line up with the lines of the doors. The gaps (except for 4 doors) seem to be even. I draw a conclusion: You cannot take a car assembled after the New Year holidays! (the plant did not work throughout January and in February, the workers clearly left with a headache ...)

Interior: (solid four)

This is what I have a minimum of complaints about, because it is about the interior. It is really made quite high quality and with good materials (of course, adjusted for the price category of the car!) The instrument panel and the front panel as a whole look quite modern and do not cause rejection. The seats are comfortable, with fairly dense padding, moderate lateral support and adjustable lumbar support (driver's). The lumbar support either does not work at all, or it works in such a way that I don’t notice the difference by turning the wheel. Sitting with medium to tall height is comfortable. There is a lot of space. The ease of landing spoils the narrow doorway and the lack of additional handles on the A-pillars. Well, if you have to put up with the first inconvenience, then I have already solved the second problem. On disassembly, I bought used rear handles from Toyota Surf and installed them on the windshield pillars. It has become more convenient to get into a rather tall car! Landing behind the wheel is high, so to speak "stool". I could not find a comfortable steering position for me. The steering wheel is adjustable in tilt angle in a fairly wide range, but this is not enough. On departure, the steering wheel is not regulated! If I move forward, so that it would be convenient to press the pedals, the steering wheel is too close. I had to fold back a little back of the seat in the "passenger" manner. Personally, though, I would have preferred a more vertical fit. Visibility forward and to the sides is excellent! Backward visibility is worse here, but the rear view camera helps out. Moving back, I find the royal space for rear passengers. There is simply an indecent amount of space (in Padzherik it is closer and the feet do not climb under the seat). True, the fit again suffers from the lack of additional handles. Over time, I will deliver from the Prado or eighties. The ride comfort in the back seat, in contrast to the spaciousness, is far from royal. Affected by the presence of a rather shaking spring suspension. In the front seats you feel more comfortable and as a passenger you quite feel like in a foreign car. The rear seats recline forward, but, alas, a flat area in the luggage compartment does not work! To top it off, with the rear seats folded down, it is difficult to close the side doors. The door trim rests against the folded back backrest - a clear ergonomic miscalculation! Under the seat there are small boxes for small things. The trunk is spacious and comfortable.

Engine: (Four Plus)

I will not evaluate the potential reliability - time will tell! Despite its 128 liters. With. the engine is quite good luck. In the city, it allows you to quite confidently start from traffic lights and has good elasticity. You don't have to switch often. Confident acceleration starts after 1600-1800 rpm. On the track, there is still a little lack of relics. The three-liter Padzherik carries more vigorously, which is natural!

Checkpoint (Four)

The switches are pretty crisp. The picture is slightly spoiled by the location of the shift lever: When you turn on the third gear, your fingers stick to the climate panel, and when you turn on the fifth gear, you have to fully extend your hand. The gear ratio of the fourth and fifth gear does not differ much. When driving over 100 km / h, you always want to turn on the sixth gear, which is not there.

Controllability: (Three points).

Whatever the advertisement says, but, in my opinion, driving a UAZ in the city is a dubious pleasure. The steering wheel is heavy. The handbrake is tight. The turning radius is more than expected. At first, parking in the evenings in the cramped courtyard, after Pajero, the first time I could not park in the right place. But the most unpleasant sensations are given by driving on the highway. The car prowls. At speed, it is simply dangerous to go around a sudden obstacle! The Patriot does not want to return to the original trajectory. You get the impression that you have a heavy trailer hanging on your tail. Perhaps, after checking the vanishing angles, the situation can be improved, but it will probably not be possible to completely get rid of the shortcomings! The only positive thing I can say is that you get used to the features of management very quickly and begin to take it for granted.

There is nothing special to say about the brakes. At least bad ...

Comfort: (Four minus)

In terms of ride comfort, the rear leaf spring suspension is not conducive to comfortable travel. The goat effect and all that ... The contents of the trunk, when moving the "speed bumps", tends to jump up to the ceiling. Pits and potholes are quite comfortable. On the intersection, I have not tested it yet, but I am afraid that on serious off-road it will shake my whole soul out of me ... Otherwise, I will have to remake the spring suspension for a spring suspension (which is clearly not part of my plans).

As for the salon attributes to ensure comfort, everything is quite normal here. The air conditioner works, the windows function. Multimedia center with a rear view camera, bluetooth and navigation "Navitell". It is annoying that it must be remembered to turn it off and on, since there is no key position in the ACC in the ignition lock. The sound of the head, however, I did not like. There are no low frequencies at all. The speakers in the doors are very tiny. But changing them to good ones simply won't work, since the axis of the speakers does not coincide with the axis of the grill in the door trim. We'll have to get confused with the manufacture of podiums, or the displacement of the speakers in the door with all the ensuing difficulties ...

Noise isolation suited me. At speed, you can talk without raising your voice. It seemed to me that the main noise comes from the engine and exhaust system from the trunk side.

Another awesome little thing is in Patrick's arsenal, which you will not find in every foreign car! This is glass with heating filaments over the entire area. Very convenient even in summer! Pajero nervously smokes on the sidelines ...

Fuel consumption: (???)

I confess I did not make exact measurements! The first hundreds of kilometers, Patrick consumed gasoline in some obscene quantities! Now everything seems to be normalized and subjectively, fuel consumption does not differ from Padzherik. Separately, I would like to say about the tanks: there are two (not lockable) small volumes. Until I started refueling myself, I didn’t feel how inconvenient it was. Instead of filling up with 2.5-3 thousands at once, you have to visit the gas station twice as often, or drag the hose from side to side. Moreover, compassionate neighbors at the gas station tell you smiling: "You have a tank on the other side!"

Production culture, shoals and malfunctions: (Two points)

This is the Patriot's Achilles heel! Well, perhaps I'll start in order: The Jackie Chan light came on for the first time after a couple of kilometers after leaving the car dealership. A day later, it was joined by a “Check 4wd” light. After a couple of days, I noticed that fuel was not being pumped from the left tank to the right one. I drove my son to the officials. They extinguished only the first, since the second went out on its own. Servicemen chased something about the rich mixture. The fuel pumping was also repaired. Since then “Check 4wd” has been on and off several times, but it has not yet been possible to catch this moment for diagnostics!

A little later, it began to wedge the passenger door when opening - closing. I looked at the castle, and there was peeled paint. It turns out that on the pillar, the central bolt securing the lock bracket was unscrewed. I started checking all the doors - all the bolts were not tightened!

Climbed under the car with the keys - there are all the rules!

After some time, a creak appeared in the rear of the cabin, which began to progress rapidly. The car began to creak like an unlubricated cart, and so much that it was a shame to drive up to the house. Since the officials are not very close to me, I climbed to look for the source of the squeak myself. And along the way I found another blooper! I am surprised that I did not immediately notice that the rear door support plate is not held on two bolts as it should, but on one. Moreover, it is clearly installed with a bias. I unscrewed this bolt, and there ... WOW! In the second hole, there is a fragment of either a tap or a drill! Most likely, the plate did not fit into its place, and the "caring" hand of the Ulyanovsk worker, aligned this place with a sledgehammer! So much so that the metal was deformed, and all the paint in the area cracked. At the present time, this place is already covered with rust. Back to the creak: here the forum of the site http://uazpatriot.ru helped me. The reason is the creak of the breakaway stops. Unscrewed to see. Indeed, it rubs metal on metal. The riveting to which the rubber stop is riveted, for some reason ??? sticks out more gum. He grinded it down with a grinder, glued it with rubber - only twenty minutes and the squeak was gone.

The car, despite the crude design, is still worth the money. The closest brand competitor (in my opinion, this is "MMC Pajero Sport") costs twice as much. But be prepared to roll up your sleeves and do something yourself sometimes. I strongly advise against white collars and lazy people to buy!

My future plans:

Snorkel and fender came. I will install one of these days.

Also in more distant plans:

1. Replacing bumpers with power ones, since the current shells are no good.

2. Replacement of the main pairs from 4.2 to 4.6.

3. Installing a lock in the rear axle.

4. Winch (already in stock, but waiting for item 1)

5. Installation of hand-out protection.

6. Body lift 5 cm.

7.33 wheels (a set of Federal Kuragiya MT tires has already been purchased)

UAZ Patriot is a mid-size one. It was launched at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in 2005. The basis was taken by another popular car of the same plant - UAZ Simbir (UAZ-3162). UAZ Patriot code designation - UAZ-3163.

In addition to these two engines, an Italian-made IVECO F1A engine was installed on the previous configurations of the UAZ Patriot.

  • at 3900 rpm, a maximum power of 116 horsepower is achieved;
  • Max. cool. moment - 270 N / m at 2500 rpm.

The updated UAZ 2015 will not be equipped with this engine.

A five-speed gearbox will act as a transmission in conjunction with these engines.

The car comes with all-wheel drive Part-Time, that is:

The distribution of forces on the axle can be controlled using a two-stage transfer case with an electric drive.

Dynamic characteristics

It is clear that one should not expect any special speed records from a two-ton SUV, but the engine power is quite enough for the driver to feel confident both on difficult sections without a normal asphalt pavement, and in dense streams of expressways.

With a gasoline engine, the top speed will be 150 kilometers per hour. Acceleration to the first hundred will take approximately 20 seconds.

Fuel consumption ZMZ 409.10 has the following:

  • 12.5 liters of AI-92 gasoline in the combined cycle;
  • 14.5 - in the city;
  • 10.5 - outside the city.

At the same time, at a speed of 90 km / h, the average consumption will be 11-12 liters, and at a speed of 120 km / h - 15-16 liters.

ZMZ 51432 shows the following characteristics:

  • maximum speed - 135 kilometers per hour;
  • acceleration to one hundred kilometers per hour - about 22 seconds.

Diesel consumption on the highway averages 9.5 liters at a speed of 90 km / h.

If you want to convert the petrol version to gas, then get ready to spend about 16 liters of "blue fuel" per 100 kilometers.

Mass and dimensions of UAZ Patriot 2015

According to its parameters, the Patriot just falls into the category of mid-size SUVs.

For the three available trim levels, the following parameters are indicated:

  • Classic - 4750/2760/1900/1910 (length / / width / height);
  • Comfort & Limited - 4785/2760/1900/2005.

I would also like to say that although according to the documents, the carrying capacity is 525 kilograms, we have repeatedly been convinced that the weight of 600 kg the Patriot can easily pull.

In all trim levels it is 210 millimeters. The car can overcome a ford up to half a meter deep, which is also important when driving off-road. The ramp angle is 35 degrees - that is, the car will not sit "on its belly" when driving over rather steep irregularities, but it will be able to move over curbs in city conditions without any problems.

Chassis, suspension, braking system

You will not find any special innovative solutions in the running gear of the updated SUV.

But an important update for the new Patriot has appeared in the suspension system - an anti-roll bar on the rear axle is used.

In all other respects, the suspension and damping system remained unchanged:

  • front - dependent spring, anti-roll bar;
  • the rear is also dependent, on springs.

The brakes for the front wheels are disc, ventilated, a conventional drum system is installed at the rear.

The main differences between the specified configurations are not in technical characteristics, but in additional options. If we talk about changes in appearance, then you can easily notice that the car has gone through a significant facelift:

In more expensive configurations, an information panel of the multimedia center with a navigator appeared, the diagonal of the touch screen is 7 inches.

The rear passengers were given more space by as much as 8 centimeters, due to the displacement of the rear row of seats back. If desired, one more sofa can be placed in the luggage compartment and the car will accommodate 7 passengers (or 9 if with children).

By the way, the trunk volume is 700 liters.

Tests and reviews

We have already tested the UAZ Patriot many times and in a variety of conditions.

If the sensations are broken down by points, then we will highlight the following, in our opinion, the main points:

  • fuel consumption is very high - if you go somewhere in the distance to the sea in summer, then an 87-liter tank will be enough for 400-500 kilometers;
  • the engines are frankly weak for a two-ton car; in order to drive at high speed, you need to maintain high revs;
  • the gearbox is classic, but all gear ratios are clearly measured, there are no problems with shifting;
  • the stove can fail - warm air from the deflectors in summer;
  • short stroke of the gas pedal, tight brake pedal, by the way, the braking distance is not the shortest.

Of the positive aspects, first of all, reliability is striking, which is not very typical.

So, when maneuvering on mountain roads or off-road, you constantly have to move the transfer lever - it can even be broken, but you will not find any significant breakdowns in the transmission and suspension.

Serious breakdowns, depending on the manner of driving and operation, can begin somewhere closer to the turn of 35-40 thousand kilometers: broken hub bearings, replacement of stabilizers, head gaskets. Some drivers complain about extraneous sounds from the transfer case, the cooling system needs constant monitoring - cracks in the hoses, leaking taps.

If you do not monitor the body, then corrosion will quickly corrode the body and bottom.

In short, you can find a lot of reviews about this car, both positive and not so much. We advise you to simply follow all the manufacturer's recommendations, do not overload the car and use it as directed.
