At the end of August 2017, Dacia declassified a photo of the exterior of the second generation Duster, and in September, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, features of the new interior and some technical information. The main changes affected the interior, and the consumer will certainly appreciate them. The Russian version will look similar, traditionally only the nameplate will change from Dacia to Renault.

The dimensions of the car remained virtually unchanged during the generation change:
- Length: 4340 mm. (+2 mm)
- Width: 1800 mm.
- Ground clearance: 210 mm.
The ground clearance (as before 210 mm) and the approach angle (30°) did not change, while the departure angle decreased by 3° (it became 33°). The off-road capabilities of the new 2019 Duster are unlikely to suffer.
Despite the recognizable appearance, the designers did their best, creating a completely new image for the new product. Interesting nuances not only in small external details, but also large elements: a relief hood, a decorative insert on the wings, diode running lights divided into sections, as well as a high side line (see photo below).
Differences between Renault and Dacia
A few months after the presentation Dacia Duster the photos appeared Renault Duster, which will be sold in Russia. The French version is distinguished by a slightly different shape of the radiator grille, a modified shape front bumper, and a slightly different interior. So, in comparison with the analogue from Dacia, it has changed steering wheel, and round ventilation deflectors were replaced by rectangular ones.

Considering that the release of the new Duster will take place no earlier than in a year, it is too early to talk about specific numbers. But “thanks to” the established tradition, the cost of a car in a new body will definitely increase, by approximately 40-50 thousand rubles. If you follow this information, then the price for the 2020 Renault Duster will be from 680 thousand rubles in the “base” with front-wheel drive and 1 million 70 thousand for maximum configuration. It is she who is present on most official photos. Although, of course, everything may change significantly by the release date.

Inside the top version of the second generation crossover to replace simple air conditioner climate control came, systems appeared keyless entry, monitoring dead spots and automatically switching lights, airbags in the form of side curtains, as well as push-button engine start. Particular attention is paid inside the car to the overall feel of quality materials and surface textures. The seats now have a new frame and upholstery, there is lumbar adjustment, headrests and height, the cushion has become 20 mm longer, and a new shape of the armrest has been provided for the driver’s seat.
The instrument panel has a slightly curved appearance, making it more convenient for the driver to use the central screen; there is room for a compass and inclinometer. The steering wheel has not only horizontal adjustment of 50 mm, but vertical adjustment of 40 mm. Placed above has become more spacious glove box shelf. As mentioned above, the crossover in the new body will not differ much in size and characteristics from the current values, but the trunk of the new Duster has become 30 liters smaller: in the front-wheel drive version its volume has become 445 liters, and in the all-wheel drive version - 376 liters, but in the cabin, the volume of small compartments has increased to almost 29 liters.
Those present at previous generation Off-road performance has not been cut, but there are noticeably more amenities in the car. For example, an assistant for descending from significant heights, as well as starting on a steep climb, can be optionally installed.
For the European model (both 2WD and 4WD) will be offered paired with manual transmission petrol power units TCe 125 and SCe 115. In addition, no one has canceled diesel engines: available for 2WD and 4WD dCi engine 110, and only for 2WD – dCi 90. Diesels are also equipped with “mechanics”, but in the 2WD version 110 hp. EDC "robot" can be installed. In Russia, they will most likely offer a choice of 1.6 and 2.0 engines with manual transmission, automatic transmission and CVT; their characteristics are well known to domestic buyers as in Duster current generation, and according to the new Kaptur.

On domestic market new Duster will appear no earlier than 2020 and will be sold under the Renault brand and a different range of engines, but, for the most part, the car will be the same as the one presented at frankfurt auto show. The list of innovations was supplemented by new seats and an expanded list of optional equipment, which included an all-round visibility system, blind spot sensors, a keyless entry system and push-button engine start, climate control, side curtain airbags and automatic switching from "far" to "near".
No miracle happened with the engines: in Europe, cars with the badges of the Romanian brand Dacia will continue to be equipped with a 1.5-liter dCi turbodiesel (90 and 110 hp) and a 1.2 liter gasoline turbo engine (125 hp). The 1.6-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with a power of 115 hp will also remain in the range. Drive - front or full, rear suspension— semi-independent (on front-wheel drive) or independent (on all-wheel drive).
In France, the new Dacia Duster will go on sale at the beginning of 2018. When will a similar crossover appear under Renault brand, the French have not yet specified.
