History of the enterprise.

April 1966 marks the beginning of the famous car brand IZH, because it was then that a serious decision was made to produce cars on the Izhmash factory conveyors. In general, the official date of birth of the enterprise is October 21, 1965, because it was then that the preparation of the production itself began, and accordingly it gave birth to the company itself.

First the legend was put on the assembly line domestic auto industry- "Moskvich-408". The Moscow Lenin Komsomol Plant provided components for production. The Renault Corporation, which was the general contractor of the company, increasingly expanded the scope of equipment supplies, attracting the interests of other companies. The company started working in full force after the main workshops were put into operation, because then about 500 units of various equipment were involved. Conveyor lines lasted for tens of kilometers, and robots and auto lines helped paint cars, which had a positive result.

Already in December 1967 it was released next model- Moskvich-412, and after 10 years from the assembly line Izhevsk plant The millionth car of this brand came off the market. After some time, the company put two new models to testing by the state, these were: famous brands, like 2125 “Combi”, as well as 2715, designed for transporting goods.

The company was forced to pledge a controlling stake in IzhAvto.

On April 29, 2009, the company ceased operations and car production stopped. Next there are discussions about the future of IzhAvto. After the appointment of new management, it should again become state-owned, but many analysts interested in the future fate of the enterprise say that most likely it will be sold to someone for a certain amount.
