Galvanized body fret grant. Is the body of the Lada Vesta galvanized? Prices and configurations of Lada Granta in various body types

AVTOVAZ has published another video clip from the series "Ladnaya mechanics". In this issue, presenter Stas talks about the thickness of the metal bodies of Vesta and XRAY, as well as the anti-corrosion treatment of AvtoVAZ's new products. In the end, they answer the question whether additional protection of the body of these models is needed.

So, is the Lada body galvanized or not? On the latest Lada models (Vesta and XRAY), the outer body panels are galvanized. Internal cavities that have no impact with the external environment are not galvanized. To protect against corrosion, they are treated with catapharesis primer.

In addition, a new anticorrosive is used on Lada Vesta and XRAY, which spreads best over the surface, into all the cracks of the body and protects the body best of all. The massive use of zinc began on Lada Kalina cars.

External body panels of modern Lada models (Vesta and XRAY) are protected from corrosion by several layers, which are applied to the body metal (its thickness is 0.6-0.8 mm):
- Zinc;
- Cataphoretic soil (primary);
- Cataphoretic soil (secondary, polyester);
- Base layer of enamel;
- Varnish.

An anti-noise mastic is additionally applied to the bottom of the car or the welded seam between the layers of catapheresis soil.

The modern body of the Lada car is covered with a two-component soil, which can withstand in salt fog for about 1500 hours (in 1970, the body of the Lada withstood only 96 hours). As an example of corrosion resistance, Vesta's bonnet was shown with a calibrated cut. After that, the body was in the salt fog for many hours, which is equivalent to 4 years of car operation. As a result, zinc successfully protected Vesta's hood from rust. The presenter also showed the internal cavities of the body, which also successfully passed the test. No rust or corrosion was found.

Galvanized hood of LADA VESTA after salt fog

Next, a stand was demonstrated (a shot blasting machine that emits a trip along the highway, when stones and sand fall on the car body) to check the quality of the paintwork (paintwork). How the quality of the primer evolves, enamel and varnish have been shown with an example. Compared paintwork VAZ 2110, Priora, Kalina, Niva 4x4 and XRAY. You can see the test results in the photo:

Do you need additional anti-corrosion protection Vesta or XRAY? The standard protective complex is sufficient to protect the body from corrosion during average vehicle operation. It makes sense to use additional anticorrosive (2 years after purchase) only if you are going to operate the car for 8-10 years.

Summary. Today's Lada body is a modern high-tech product, sufficiently protected and always ready for use in our harsh road and climatic conditions.

Lada-Vesta is a Russian B-class car, developed jointly with foreign engineers at AvtoVAZ. In fact, this is our first brand that can compete on a par with German and Korean cars. But despite the cooperation with foreigners, there is a lot of controversy around the build quality of Vesta and the level of body protection. One of the most frequent questions concerns whether the Lada-Vesta has a body - galvanized or not. In today's article we will try to figure it out.

Protection methods

Zinc is used to protect the metal from corrosion. It is a non-ferrous metal with a negative potential. What does it mean? During operation, the zinc layer is destroyed first, retains the coating underneath. The element prevents rust from spreading quickly, taking the entire blow. Thus, the thicker the zinc layer, the better the protection. But much also depends on the method of application. Whether the body of "Lada Vesta" is galvanized, we will find out in the course of the story about the methods of metal protection.

Hot method

This is the highest quality, but expensive galvanizing method. What is its essence? The entire body is placed in a zinc bath at a temperature of about 500 degrees. The metal is evenly coated with a protective layer.

Zinc penetrates into all cavities. Experts say that this is the most correct and durable method of protection. But the process is quite complicated and requires a lot of money. Basically, this technology is practiced on premium cars. This "Bentley", "Porsche", "Lamborghini" and so on (there were also Volvo with such a treatment). On a Lada-Vesta car, the body is not processed in this way. This would significantly affect the cost of the car, which would reduce its popularity.

Electroplating

What is the essence of this method? The operation consists in using zinc ions, which are deposited on the body with negative polarity. The method uses the energy of a direct electric current. Zinc ions are positively charged and the body is negatively charged. Thus, the protective particles coat the metal evenly, protecting it from future corrosion. Which vehicles are electroplated on? These are German Mercedes, BMWs, Japanese Hondas, Toyota, and Mitsubishi. The Koreans from the Hyundai concern also practice electroplating. But "Kia" uses zinc-metal technology. This coating consists of two layers. Used mainly on Optima and Serato.

Cold galvanized

Unlike the hot method, the body does not fit in the bathroom. Zinc is applied from a spray bottle.

The surface treatment process is identical to painting. The method is very simple and economical. Used by such manufacturers:

  • Chevrolet.
  • "Kia" (below the C-class).
  • VAZ (including "Lada-Vesta").

After such treatment, the metal of the body is protected from corrosion. But this method has its drawbacks. So, when it is impossible to achieve such a uniform and complete coating, as when hot.

Features of processing "Vesta"

Whether the body of the Lada-Vesta is galvanized or not, we already know. It is cold worked. But it is worth noting that this zinc is not applied to the entire surface. After processing, there is still a lot of hidden cavities, including the interior. To protect such areas, the plant uses an anti-corrosion primer. The manufacturer calls this technology cataphoresis.

According to the AvtoVAZ company, Vesta was treated with this soil in two layers. This allows you to completely exclude the access of air into the cavity between the damaged paintwork and the metal.

Layers of paint

In order to maximally protect Lada-Vesta from corrosion, the manufacturer paints it in five layers. The first is cold applied zinc. The second and third is an anti-corrosion primer. It is applied, as we said earlier, in two layers.

Next comes the base enamel. The finishing layer is clear varnish. Thus, the total layer thickness is 90-100 microns. Among them, ten microns is occupied by zinc. But due to the unevenness of the coating, it can be reduced to eight.

How long will it last?

Along with the question of whether the body of the Lada-Vesta is galvanized or not, many are interested in the duration of this protection. The manufacturer itself provides a six-year warranty. Before entering serial production, such a body was tested in a salt spray box. The body was in this room for about two and a half months. As the result showed, the body of "Lada-Vesta" coped well with the test. But how long will the metal last after the warranty period? The experts give their calculations. If a hundred microns of zinc is enough for 80-100 years, then a factory layer of 8-10 microns will last about seven to ten years. What to do after this period? It is necessary to regularly monitor the condition of the paintwork and take preventive measures. We will talk about them further.

Knowing whether the body of the Lada-Vesta is galvanized or not, one should not neglect preventive measures. First of all, this applies to washing. It should be regular, especially in winter. Many will say, they say, why spend money and wash off the dirt if it protects the paint with an even layer from the same plaque. This belief is fundamentally wrong. The fact is that in winter this mud contains reagents that are sprinkled on the road by public utilities. And the larger the layer, the higher the risk of corrosion. This is especially true for places that are treated with only a primer, without zinc. When washing, we pay special attention to arches and other hidden cavities (thresholds, bottom of the wings). These places start to rot first. Check the drainage holes (at the bottom of the sills and doors) periodically. They should not be clogged. Otherwise, it will significantly accelerate corrosion processes.

You can also protect the body from "sandblasting" by gluing a transparent protective film. It will not only prevent corrosion, but will preserve the color and preservation of the body in its original form.

About primer

Is the body of Lada-Vesta galvanized everywhere or not? It only defends itself along the outer perimeter. The salon remains "naked". But this does not mean that corrosion will occur earlier in such places.

After galvanizing, the entire body is placed in a bath with soil, and in two passes. This eliminates the appearance of rust in the cavities. In addition, the zinc layer does not interact well with the base enamel. To fix it, use soil. It is a kind of connecting link that prevents the paint from falling off at the most unnecessary moment.

Do they only process Vesta?

Many will now ask why the manufacturer began to think about this issue only with the release of Vesta. This is not entirely true. The fact is that other models of VAZs were also galvanized. These are "Priora" (models after 2009), "Kalina" of the second generation and "Lada-Granta". But still the body was not completely processed. So, on "Kalina" galvanizing was absent on the rear and front spars, the roof and on the hood. To eliminate corrosion at least partially, Priora had to be processed almost everywhere, with the exception of the roof and hood. But again, you can't do without lockers here.

"Vesta" is treated with zinc over the entire outer surface (including the rear fenders), except for the roof. Additionally, some areas are treated with anti-gravel. These are sills, bottom and arches.

Yes, AvtoVAZ used cold galvanizing technology before. But it is best of all realized on Vesta.

Conclusion

So, we found out whether the body of Lada-Vesta is galvanized or not. With the release of the new model, the manufacturer has paid great attention to this issue. The car must be no less resistant to rust than its competitors Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Solaris. As the reviews themselves note, the car really withstands moisture, salt and temperature extremes well. But there are also downsides. So, on the first Vesta models, the taillights rubbed against the fender. Because of this, the protective layer simply rubbed off. On new models, this drawback is completely eliminated. As practice shows, AvtoVAZ regularly works to eliminate “childhood diseases” from Vesta. This allows her to maintain a leading position in the sales rankings.

Lada Granta body and its features ">

On Lada Granta, the body, produced by modern standards, looks much more fashionable than the previous VAZ models. There is galvanized coating on it, and a good quality coating. According to experts, in terms of the number of galvanized parts, the modern Granta body surpasses even its predecessor on the AvtoVAZ conveyor - Lada Kalina. We learn from the article whether the body of the Lada Grant is galvanized and how much, as well as its other features.

Today, at the plant in Togliatti, the processing of the body and its metal parts implies a standard galvanized layer. True, not the entire area of the car is subjected to this process, but only the most vulnerable areas of the body, such as the bottom, etc. First of all, these areas are located near the road surface, thereby being damaged quite often: chips, scratches and violation of the integrity of the paintwork surface in such places of the body, the phenomenon is common.

Note. What does the galvanized layer give in this case? It effectively protects the body frame from rusting, preventing the process from progressing further rapidly in places of chips and scratches.

Lada Granta body galvanized

On the one hand, the galvanized layer, of course, cannot completely protect the metal from corrosion. On the other hand, if it were not for it, the elements would begin to rust in short periods of time, after some minor accident or the car was thrown off the jack.

Galvanized body Lada Granta

There is a lot of controversy regarding galvanizing. In particular, the question concerns the following: on the Lada Grant, the body is galvanized sufficiently, if we mean the percentage. Here's what I would like to say about this:

  • Lada Granta is considered a budget car, which automatically excludes full processing;
  • Precisely because Granta is a budget car, it has fewer body parts prepared for work in harsh conditions.

On the other hand, all the "vital" body parts of the car are, of course, covered with a galvanized layer at the factory. This happens in the press shop, where zinc is applied to the steel sheet from 2 sides.

Is it worth making additional anticorrosive treatment on Lada Grant, car owners often ask on the forums. The manufacturer does not advise doing this, hinting that he has foreseen everything himself. On the other hand, no matter what kind of corrosion guarantee AvtoVAZ gives for the first 6 years of car operation, we were not born yesterday, and we understand that the manufacturer's warranty is one thing, but the real situation is completely different.

Here are the areas of the domestic autocar at risk in the first place:

  • Wheel arches and rear fenders;
  • Trunk sides;
  • Bottom;
  • Door pillars and cladding;
  • Protective components, etc.

Some car owners claim that some Grants do not have galvanizing at all, which explains the low cost of the car. Is it really? AvtoVAZ categorically denies this information, arguing the opposite. Yes, galvanizing does not take place in full, but the strategy of protecting the most important areas of the body is mandatory.

In general, there have been quite a few myths about domestic car models lately. Some people, supposedly cool specialists, come to various topics, and they begin to flog all sorts of nonsense that soon AvtoVAZ products will crumble before our eyes. It is noteworthy that the majority of "pseudo-experts" are not personally familiar with modern versions, and they judge products by old models of the 90s.

The modern corrosion resistance of VAZ models, even the most budget ones, has improved significantly. The current painting booths, "smart" robots, universalized stamping shops with the appropriate equipment - all this is and works at AvtoVAZ today. And the result does not leave itself waiting long: the body clearances have decreased, the fitting of the parts is carried out perfectly. In addition, all surfaces of the body are treated accordingly, as the body is completely immersed in a bath with a primer. If earlier it was difficult to imagine, then today no one doubts the strength of a robot that can easily lift a heavy body entirely and dip it properly into the composition.

What is the body of the Lada Grant made of?

It is also worth noting that today any car produced by AvtoVAZ undergoes rigorous testing. For example, it is kept in a saline solution for more than 2 days, then it is scratched to metal. And what: corrosion only slightly manifests itself, but the Niva body, painted according to old technologies and not galvanized, also subject to a similar test, is literally eaten away by rust.

The issue has been successfully resolved today and with. The same Lada Granta, despite the budget, is endowed with a reinforcing "bulkhead" in the rear. This is about the sedan, but the liftback, which will be described in detail below, has been worked out in terms of body rigidity even more carefully. The fact is that the 5-door modifications do not provide for a rear end amplifier, which is why rigidity in this case is given to the maximum. Compared to the "chisel", the body rigidity of the Lada Granta (hatchback) is doubled!

Lada granta body number

By the way, who cares, the Lada Granta body number can be viewed in the engine compartment right from the edge near the shock absorber strut on the front passenger side.

Features of car bodies

Initially, AvtoVAZ marketers projected that the price of the new Lada Granta, which was released in 2012, would be several times lower than most domestic models. The cost was supposed to be no more than 220 thousand rubles, but fate was not destined for promising hopes to come true. As it turned out in practice, the production of even the most budget car had to meet modern quality and safety criteria. This includes full power accessories, automatic transmission, air conditioning, and all this cannot be cheap.

Lada granta all types of body

If from an economic point of view it is difficult to determine the budget of the Lada Grant, then according to the body design it is quite easy to do this. For some reason, the sedan received a rear end that does not match the optics that resemble human eyebrows. The feeling of unfinished design and "dampness" frightened off buyers. Fortunately, 3 years after the release of the budget sedan of the first series, a liftback was assembled at AvtoVAZ.

This is a completely different matter! Despite the constructive relationship with the sedan, a cursory glance at the liftback is enough to make the positive changes immediately noticeable. Again, the design was the main difference between these 2 modifications. If the sedan of the first series was made boring and left the impression of a pie half-eaten by someone, then the liftback looks like a perfect and dynamic car, matching good foreign cars.

Lada Granta body types

In particular, the changes affected a lot, despite all the same budget class. The bumpers were unified as needed, according to the highest class: lining of unpainted plastic appeared, which organically fit into the design. They do not look like something foreign and do not produce repulsive impressions, although from the experience of a sedan this could be expected. The rear bumper with a fog lamp is also good.

In general, the back of a car is a separate conversation. On the liftback, the work on the errors was carried out very competently. The repulsive browbones have disappeared, which has now made it possible to evaluate the optics in a completely different style: it even looks much better than on Korean and Chinese budget class elevators. The tailgate has also turned out well, which no longer looks like a foreign body.

The rear of the liftback, despite the lack of a wiper in the basic version, is carefully designed. So, the VAZ designers give a tooth that in the rain the rear window will be easily cleaned automatically by air currents, since they specially gave the glass the slope necessary for this. It is for this reason that the liftback in the standard version was deprived of the rear wiper, but it is available in the "Norm" and "Lux" versions just in case, so to speak.

No offense, AvtoVAZ will say that their new litfback looks so that you forget about its belonging to this auto concern. And this only earned the edits of design errors, which immediately affected sales. Potential clients instantly forgave AvtoVAZ past mistakes and rushed to the salons for a new liftback.

Body types Lada Granta

The liftback looks better in profile as well. It looks better due to the sloping roofline and stylish rear doors, which the designers have successfully modernized. Today, many owners of 4-door sedans pensively turn their heads, they say, they would know in advance about the release of such an interesting 5-door novelty, then they would postpone the purchase.

Strengthened the rigidity of the liftback body carefully. As mentioned above, this was done for several reasons, one of which is the lack of proper reinforcement in the rear of the sedan example.

Regarding the rigidity of the body, the following works were carried out:

  • Additional amplifiers were introduced into the structure of the body base: brackets, braces, etc .;
  • The thickness of the middle spars has been changed: now 1.8 mm, instead of the previous 1.5 mm;
  • Changed the thickness of the middle of the bottom: now 1.2 mm, instead of 0.95 mm.

Again, despite the measures taken, the rigidity of the body of the liftback or hatchback, whoever is comfortable, gives in to the rigidity of Grant's sedan.

Note. By the way, many people ask why Lada Granta is positioned in a new body type, as a liftback, and not as a hatchback. The fact is that the "niche" of hatchbacks has already been occupied by the closest relative - Lada Kalina, in almost everything similar to Grant in design.

For other items:

  • Rear-view mirrors began to look more organic, fitting into the look of the car;
  • Wheel rims have grown to 14 inches, which made the car taller and allows you to forget that it is a budget;
  • The doors received restraints, which effectively affected the squeak. When opening the sedan door, a disgusting creak is heard, but now it has disappeared, and when closing, even the work of the closer is heard;
  • The rear doors of the liftback were equipped with new seals. Now, halfway down the doors no longer rattle like a sedan.

Note. The door locks, however, remained the same, but the manufacturer promises to install new ones from July, modified with the latest technology.

  • The "Shumka" of the body has been brought to mind.

In all the appearance of the liftback, only one thing is noticed: the VAZ engineers worked hard on this modification, trying to fix the obvious bloopers that annoy the owners of the previous sedans. And, in particular, this also applies to sound insulation. The 5-door Grenade is perceived as a quieter car than the Granta with a "traditional" body. The modification with automatic transmission is especially good in this regard, but the version with "mechanics" did not get rid of the characteristic "grant" noise.

As for the dimensions of the new liftback:

  • The length decreased by 13 mm, becoming equal to 4234 mm;
  • The height is 1500 mm and the width is 1700 mm.

As for the curb weight, it is 1150 kg. This is slightly more than the weight of the sedan, but the extra door and other liftback differences are a clear reason for this.

The manufacturer was also pleased with the number of various colors and the quality of the materials used for painting. Now for paintwork at AvtoVAZ they use only high-quality materials that meet European standards. Such formulations are less susceptible to aggressive environments than those that were previously used.

In addition, the painting technology itself is carried out using modern German equipment supplied to Russia by Eisenmann. It is known in Europe for its high quality painting, is valued for its manufacturability and is in great demand.

Prices and configurations of Lada Granta in various body types

Granta liftback red

Let's say right away that the price for the 5-door version of Grants liftback, depending on the configuration, will be in the range of 314-477 thousand rubles. Grant sedan starts at 294 thousand rubles.

The most budgetary version of the hatchback is the "Standard". Everything here is done, so to speak, cheap and cheerful. The buyer will have to pay 314 thousand rubles for this model, which will be more expensive than the sedan version by 20 thousand rubles. But the owner has all the cards in his hands: there is a stylish design, and a good motor, and 14-inch wheels, and much that was described in detail above.

If we compare at this cost of the model among new cars, then this is ZAZ Chance, which costs about 295 thousand rubles in the basic version and 308 thousand rubles in a more advanced configuration with power steering and heated front seats.

The "Chinese" Lifan Smiley, estimated at 309 thousand rubles, can also compete with our liftback.

Now about the "Norm" version. Dealers ask about 345 thousand rubles for it, but on it everything is practically the same as on the "Standard", except for the presence of an unnecessary rear wiper, EUR, ABS, headrests and better audio preparation.

In addition, the "normal" Grant liftback can be distinguished from the "standard" one by the door moldings and B-pillar trims. In the expensive version, the moldings are painted in body color, and the linings are black.

Let's take a quick look at the competitors. The players here are the same as those of the "Standard", with only one addition in the form of Cherie Veri 2013 release for 355 thousand rubles.

Luxury Grant

The Lux package is the most expensive version of Grant's liftback. For such an AvtoVAZ asks for at least 420 thousand rubles. But there are much more additional systems here: climate, cool multimedia, a more thought-out security system, 15-inch wheels and much more.

Note. "Luxury" Grant with automatic transmission will cost 57 thousand rubles more than a similar version with "mechanics". Wow, you might say, but it’s worth it because it adds parking sensors, useful sensors and a stability control system.

What can you buy for the same money? Renault Sandero costs about 374 thousand rubles in the basic version, and for its "luxury" will have to pay at least 474 thousand.

Not a bad version of the Skoda Fabia assembled in Russia. True, orders for this car are no longer accepted, but dealers are still selling the models remaining in stock. You can buy a car for 439 thousand rubles.

As for the "Koreans", they also have a model for such a price. This is Hyundai Solaris hatchback for 453 thousand rubles.

And finally, the popular Renault Duster can be purchased for 489 thousand rubles.

Finally, let's say that Granta looks much better in terms of buying than its competitors. The evidence of this is its body, brought to mind, and distinguished by good performance. To find out more about body types on Lada Granta will allow photo and video materials. If you are interested in DIY body repair, then read the detailed instructions posted on our website.

Kalina or Granta? Which is better, the first proven Kalina or the new improved Granta? We will know the answer only after a while. In the meantime, on the Internet, everyone is arguing about what is better to buy, we decided to clarify one ambiguity.

Metal thickness

There is a general consensus that it is so cheap not only because fewer parts were used, but also because of the thin layer of metal on the body. Some advise you to check the thickness by feeling the trunk lid of Kalina and Grants, but this is not true. But why, then, is Lada Granta heavier in weight than its predecessor? What's the catch?

For a more accurate comparison, you need a micrometer - a special device for accurately measuring the thickness of parts.

As a result - 0.6mm on Grant against 0.8mm Lada Kalina. But this is not an indicator, since not only the thickness of the metal plays a major role in the strength of the body, there are also the properties of this metal (brand, processing).

Paint layers

Despite the fact that on Grant, the thickness of the metal is less, but as much as 6! In Kalina for comparison - 3. The fact is that the production of Grants is carried out on a new paint line and the number of layers is 6 as on foreign cars.

How this will affect the operation of the car is still a question. For now, we can only observe.

What do YOU think about this? We look forward to your advice, answers and greetings! =)

Potential buyers and car owners are concerned about the question: does Grant's model have a galvanized body or not? The concern is easy to understand: the cost of the body makes up a significant part of the price of a budget car Lada Granta, galvanizing protects the structure from the influence of unfavorable external factors.

Different sources provide conflicting information. Official representatives of the AvtoVAZ concern claim: Lada Grant has a galvanized body, some dealers refute the statement.

How to take care of an expensive car body, regardless of whether the Lada Granta body is galvanized or not?

Information from the official representatives of "AvtoVAZ"

At the factories of the concern, metal body elements are processed with a galvanized layer. The low cost of the car does not allow covering the entire area of the metal; it protects the most vulnerable places prone to corrosion:

Doors;
rear fenders;
rear wheel niches;
luggage compartment lid;
protective screen of the body;
floor;
protective cover;
frame details;
the groove of the hind wing.

The main vital structural elements are treated with a coating, you can remove the question - the body of the Lada Granta is galvanized or not.

Factory Galvanized Methods

Discussions about domestically produced cars do not subside. They argue about Lada Granta, whether the body is galvanized, how much the price corresponds to the quality, meanwhile, the giant AvtoVAZ continues its strategy to improve the cars produced and improve galvanizing as well.

The factories use the following coating methods:

Thermal galvanizing is the most reliable;

Galvanization, when, under the action of an electric current, zinc is deposited from a solution on the surface of parts;

Coating with a primer with preliminary application of manganese, zinc and iron salts to the metal surface.

Breakthrough in body stiffness and protection - liftback

Compared to the sedan, the liftback model has serious advantages - a more rigid body, a presentable appearance, the Lada Grant version of the liftback has a higher quality galvanized body.

If some sources claim that the sedan version of the body is not galvanized at all, then the question of whether the Lada Grant's liftback body is galvanized or not does not arise today.

And if so, you need to answer positively whether the body of Grants is galvanized.

Debunking myths

1. Does the galvanized bodywork rust?

Even if when buying a car to the question - Grant is galvanized or not, the dealer gives you a positive answer, it's too early to calm down. Due to the very thin coating layer, its partial nature, a quick reduction of the zinc layer is guaranteed.

Without additional processing, the body will still rust.

2. Does the new car need additional bodywork?

Factory protection is imperfect. Even a new car needs a preventive anti-corrosion treatment. The coating of the body during operation is subjected to strong mechanical stress, causing cracking of the coating, ingress of moisture into the cavities and corrosion of body elements.

3. Does the aluminum bodywork rust?

In fact, the entire body of stainless aluminum cannot be made, steel is used, it is subject to corrosion. Aluminum, on the other hand, oxidizes over time and turns into powder.

4. Will the factory rust protection last for many years?

The corrosion rate of the metal largely depends on the operating conditions, climatic features. A 0.6 mm thick metal layer can rust through in six years! It is imperative to process the body.

5. Are mudguards and wheel arch liners, plastic linings useless?

Not true. The equipment reduces the abrasive effect of dirt and sand on the body.

The elements are installed with self-tapping screws, the external joints are treated with anti-corrosion coatings. The mudguards are attached to the fenders and body as closely as possible.

Regardless of whether the body of the Grants is galvanized or not, preventive treatment of the body must be carried out.

Anti-corrosion treatment of the car

The most favorable period for work is in dry warm weather. Frequency - once every one or two years.

At home, for anti-corrosion treatment of external unprotected parts of the metal, anti-noise mastics on a bitumen basis are used. They are drying and non-drying, the latter retain high elasticity, but do not have high mechanical strength. The mastics are applied in a thick layer of up to 0.4 mm. Thanks to this, a good soundproofing effect is obtained.

For the treatment of hidden body cavities, either oil-based preparations are used, which can fill them during the formation of microcracks, or elastic preparations that displace moisture well on a paraffin or wax base.

Careful car care will help to increase its service life in any case, regardless of whether your Lada Grant has a galvanized body or not.
