The Bavarians are one of the most successful German automakers, they live according to the laws of marketing and, no matter how successful the sales of E90 sedans (fifth generation) were going, the sixth “coming of the concern's sales locomotive” was supposed to happen “on schedule” and took place in the fall of 2011 of the year. And on the whole, it is noticeable that they worked on the "sixth three" with an eye to the older model of the concern. The design turned out to be wonderful and not as bland as in the E90. All elements of the body were blown in a wind tunnel for more than one hour, which ultimately had a positive effect on the drag coefficient Cx-0.26.
BMW F30, in comparison with its predecessor, slightly increased in size: length + 93 mm (4624 mm), height +8 mm (1429 mm), width on mirrors + 42 mm (2031 mm), base + 50 mm (2810 mm) , the ground clearance decreased to 140 mm. Not without the widening of the track by 37 mm (1543 mm) of the front axle, and 47 mm (1583 mm) of the distance between the wheels at the rear, which will certainly have a positive effect on the already refined handling of the bestseller from BMW.
Let's take a look inside the sedan. The interior of the F30 uses the familiar elements of the 1st series (multimedia unit and climate control). But the materials used are a cut higher than in the "one". The plastics are pliable, soft and tactilely pleasant. The console is traditionally turned towards the driver, the central tunnel with its configuration immodestly hints who is the owner of the car. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in leather clothing fits perfectly into the hands. Behind it, on the dashboard, there are ascetic instruments, for all their simplicity - informative and easy to read (why should the pilot be distracted from the road). The front dashboard is crowned with the display of the multimedia system, but its disadvantage is that it does not retrace into the dashboard.
The driver and front passenger have ideal seats, there are plenty of seat adjustments in all directions, the seats themselves are a masterpiece (whoever drove a BMW would agree - there are no better seats). Passengers of the second row, although they got more space than in the previous "three", but it is uncomfortable to sit behind a tall driver. Three passengers will also be cramped, just two of them.
The luggage compartment has 480 liters of volume. For this, the BMW 3-Series offers three interior design lines: "Modern Line", "Luxury Line" and "Sport Line". How exactly they will differ from each other, we will find out at the beginning of February 2012, when sales start.
The level of equipment of the 3-Series, as always, will be high - the most interesting thing is the installation of an integrated ConnectedDrive system, which combines service and entertainment functions. We will not list everything, only the brightest: displaying information on the windshield, a night vision camera and blind spots, adaptive cruise control, reading road signs and much more. The steering is electrically powered, but the steering is very clear. it changes the severity depending on the increase in speed, and if the car stands still, then from lock to lock the steering wheel makes one revolution less than it would be at speed. The basic version is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, but the customer can choose an eight-speed automatic transmission. All motors are very powerful.
