Audi q3 2.0 what kind of robot is there. The Audi Q3 is a good investment for those who want more comfort from their car. Still, it will be a little expensive

The sporty compact crossover Audi RS Q3 is, in our opinion, one of the best offers in its segment. This car has a bright and memorable appearance, which differs from the standard Q3 by the presence of alloy wheels of a larger diameter, swollen wheel arches, the presence of a body kit, as well as body parts painted in a different color, such as the radiator grille, lower lip, exterior mirrors, etc.

In terms of technical characteristics, the Audi RS Q3 crossover is equipped with all-wheel drive, a 2.5-liter petrol engine with a capacity of 340 hp. which is paired with a seven-speed robotized transmission. It is noteworthy that the robot has two wet clutches and the DQ500 index; many confuse the transmission with the DQ200, because it also has seven steps. However, while the DQ500 is the most reliable robot available today, the DQ200 dry clutch has unfortunately earned a reputation as the most unreliable drivetrain. The DQ 500, in combination with a 2.5-liter engine and all-wheel drive, allows the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds, and the top speed is 250 km / h.

Often people ask the question whether DSG or S-tronic is installed on Audi? As such, there is no difference, this is the same transmission, it's just that Audi calls it S-Tronic, and Vokswagen's DSG. You can read about which cars this robot is installed on by clicking on.

"K-third" is one of the few Volkswagen models currently on sale that are NOT built on the MQB modular platform, but on more archaic ones. The compact premium crossover Q3 is based on two "carts" at once: PQ35 and PQ46. Actually, they practically do not differ in anything, but the second is slightly larger than the first and is intended for D-class cars. The PQ35 is used by the Audi A3, SEAT Altea, Volkswagen Golf of the fifth generation, Volkswagen Tiguan or Skoda Octavia of the second generation. PQ 46 is /, Passat CC and Skoda Superb II.

From the very start of production, since 2011, the Audi Q 3 was installed, developed by Audi specialists back in 2007. Over the course of several years, they were modernized, but in the end this engine could not become a model of reliability, although more on that later. On our restyled car, of course, there is already a late engine - a two-liter, 220 hp. Box - S-Tronic DQ500 preselective robot.

We will look at the car and find out the prices for work and spare parts in a good multi-brand service Bosch Diesel Service "Exclusive". I note right away: Q 3 is an infrequent guest in this service. Partly due to the fact that while these cars are preferred to be serviced in dealerships. And also not so often they break down to constantly hang around on service lifts. Although there are cases.

Engine

Needless to say, the Q 3 with a two-liter engine drives very vigorously. The only pity is that this happiness does not always last long. Positive displacement EA888 motors do not give rings and chains to God as quickly as, for example, 1.4 TSI, and the latest revisions of these engines are much better than the earlier ones. But be that as it may, this motor also needs to be serviced. And as best as possible: sometimes a good attitude towards him can prolong his life.

Oil change is not a cumbersome procedure. You will have to pay about three and a half thousand for the oil itself, another 570 rubles for the filter. Of course, everyone knows that you cannot save on the oil filter. And it’s not so expensive to try to earn a house in Florida on analogs. The problem lies elsewhere: there are a lot of fake filters for VW engines on the market, so you don't need to buy them in questionable places. And it can't cost two hundred rubles, so it's better to find a good analog than a fake original. This is if the toad is completely strangling.

Oil change cost with filter

about 4 670 rubles

The replacement cost is 600 rubles. This is the average cost of an oil change, if it is cheaper in your city, then I am very happy for you. The main thing is that the procedure is completely standard and therefore inexpensive.

The air filter costs 1,050 rubles. Here, of course, you can look for an analogue. And you can replace it yourself, there is nothing complicated in the operation. If you don't want to turn the screws yourself (and here they hold the case cover, and not the latches), then at the service station they are ready to do this for you for 350 rubles.

A service belt serves its resource honestly, a set costs 2,800 rubles, a replacement costs 1,500 rubles. And now the fun begins.

Stretching the chain on a two-liter engine is not as common as the "oil burner". And yet it has far from a record resource, and if not the first, then the second owner should be ready to replace it. It is not as expensive as, for example, on some V 8: spare parts will cost 35,000 rubles. Work - back at 22,500. In general, of course, the amount is rather big, so when buying a car with such an engine, it is worth assessing the condition of the chain in advance.

It is more difficult to deal with "maslozhor". Firstly, not everywhere they can accurately establish the cause of this sad phenomenon, and secondly, they cannot eliminate it everywhere.

The photo shows that our car is sweating with a turbine. This is not to say that this is a completely criminal phenomenon, this can be allowed. But don't believe those who say that eating oil by a turbocharged engine is the norm. This is a deviation that needs to be corrected.

Replacing antifreeze

800 rubles

One of the enemies of this motor is overheating, which also leads to an oily appetite. Therefore, we closely monitor not only the oil level, but also the condition of the cooling system. By the way, replacing antifreeze is also not expensive - only 800 rubles (excluding the cost of antifreeze, of course).

To prevent the turbine from stopping ahead of time, the service specialist advises letting the car idle after the end of the trip. As old as the world, but effective. And another breakdown that periodically pops up is the "glitch" of the "start-stop" system. It is better to contact the dealer with this, not every multi-brand service will want to poke around in the Audi electrics.

Transmission

Another problematic unit is the S-tronic "robot". In fact - DSG 7, but not "the same" dry, but with clutches in an oil bath. This box is designed for a torque of up to 600 Nm, so with a relatively quiet Q3 motor she lives quite comfortably. If you don't drive hard, then you hardly have to google up to 120-150 thousand mileage"Repair DQ500 price" and be horrified.

The main thing is not to forget to change the oil in it more often, because the clutch discs are actively dirtying it. Once every 50 thousand - this is the maximum, it is possible and more often, since the procedure is not too expensive by the standards of premium cars: 9,800 rubles for oil, work - 2,500. and 500 rubles will replace the oil in one gearbox, and for the same amount - in the transfer case. For oil, you will have to pay 2 630 for each node.

The rest of the transmission is not to complain about. The all-wheel drive is based on the fifth-generation Haldex clutch (before restyling - the fourth), in general, everything is quite reliable and does not present surprises.

Chassis and brakes

The bottom of the Q 3 is much more boring than you might think. Front - MacPherson, rear - multi-link. Both suspensions are mounted on stretchers. Let's start with the front suspension.

It's hard to say if there are obvious weaknesses here. There are not many complaints about the Q 3's chassis. The rear silent blocks may crack, but in this case it is better to change the levers assembled, there is no point in repressing. There are services and specialists who will undertake such work, but the resource of silent blocks is not so bad to "cut" on this. Lever assembly costs 13,300 rubles, replacing it - 1,600.

But the ball joint can be easily replaced separately, it is bolted. The price of the part is 3,600 rubles, the work will cost 1,500.

The back is even easier. And the only problem can be the breakup bolts, which can be considered an absolutely standard situation for a car with a rear multi-link. There is nothing lethal, it is necessary to carry out their prevention at least once a year and not bring them to the point of having to cut them off.

Particularly thrifty owners of Q 3 can be upset by the price of brake pads and discs. The kit is really not budgetary: 5 180 are front pads and 3,500 - rear. Disks are 12,240 and 10,100 rubles, respectively. Replacing the front pads will cost only 700 rubles, but the rear ones - already 1,580 rubles. The difference in price is due to the need to adapt the electronic parking brake, which is carried out using a scanner. The cost of replacing brake discs differs for the same 880 rubles: 2,000 - for the front and 2,880 - for the rear discs.

Body and interior

Unfortunately, in recent years, such cars with "glitches" of salon electrics are increasingly coming to the service. And this is not always good: the dealer will often be able to find some kind of floating malfunction faster than a multi-brand, albeit good, service. If only because they maintain a common knowledge base on typical breakdowns. For example, a similar car had problems with door handles (we are talking about keyless access handles). They tried to repair them, but this is not enough for long. Better to immediately buy new ones, paint and install.

And one more body problem is also typical for many cars: too large cells of the radiator grill easily let pebbles and other rubbish from the road to it. The air conditioner radiator will die first (because it is the first in the course), and dirt can do a poor service to the engine cooling system and the box radiator. The photo shows that there are already defects on the radiator of the air conditioner. The solution is also obvious: to put a grid. And it is advisable to do it on time.

What's the bottom line?

If the car is relatively fresh, with a confirmed mileage, and it was not "collective farm" with additional electrical equipment or chip tuning, then there is nothing wrong with it. As already mentioned, the EA888 motors of the latest revision are no longer "horror-horror", you just need to monitor the oil consumption and evaluate the chain tension before buying. Box DQ500 subject to changing the oil in it (and at the same time in other transmission units) will also not cause big problems. So if you like Q3 and looking for the option "slightly used", you can be calm: the car will not ruin.

For help in preparing the material, we express our gratitude to the workshop Bosch Diesel Service "Exclusive" (St. Petersburg, Bolshevikov Ave., 42) and personally to the head of the service station Dmitry Donin

The agony of choice, as such, was not. I just wanted a reliable, eminent German crossover. Moreover, a compact car was needed. At first I was inclined towards the BMW X1, but the Q3 hooked me more externally, but inside it is somehow more interesting than the “Bavarian”.

The front of the crossover looks especially stylish, of course. Stylish headlights, LED "eyeliner" DRL. In general, the Audi looks thoroughbred.

As soon as you get inside the car, you immediately understand that this is, although an initial, but still a premium class. This is confirmed by the edging made of real metal. Pleased with the quality of the leather and Alcantara.

The full-fledged monitor crawling out "from the bowels" of the torpedo is also pleasing, and all manipulations are performed using a metal joystick. At first it seemed to me not very comfortable, but gradually I got used to it. The main thing is that the menu is clear and simple.

In my opinion, the steering wheel is too burdened with a huge number of buttons with which you can control the on-board computer, music, and cruise. Everything seems simple, but I'm still confused.

Now, with regard to the technical stuffing. The Audi Q3 is equipped with a preselective robotic gearbox, the one with two clutches. And it is called S-tronic. Oh, and I read a lot of all sorts of nasty things about this transmission. Indeed, in fact, the S-tronic is the same scary and terrible "Foltz" DSG. This “robot” is, firstly, a 7-speed, and secondly, it is equipped with a “wet” clutch (discs “bathe in an oil bath). So, I think, he will not give me any problems, you just need to change the oil in a timely manner, according to the regulations. And all the horror stories were told about another, "dry" box DQ200. There really were big problems with her. But this transmission was used for budgetary "Vagovskie" cars.

If we compare the "robot" with a conventional "automatic", then it accelerates the car much faster, and clicks the gears are completely unnoticeable. It happens very quickly and smoothly.

Now about the all-wheel drive. From the very beginning, the loud QUATTRO nameplate did not mislead me. It is clear that the Q3 is just an urban crossover. Therefore, the all-wheel drive system is appropriate. It is realized by means of a multi-plate clutch called HALDEX. The rear axle constantly receives 10% of the moment, and if necessary, the percentage rises to 50. But this happens very gently, so it is difficult to notice by connecting the rear axle. The crossover just drives and drives where it needs to be. Still, it's not just that HALDEX is considered almost the most optimal solution in all-wheel drive. In general, the QUATTRO system works, the main thing is not to get carried away. In addition, the ground clearance of 17 centimeters is not very conducive to the conquest of off-road.

A serious plus of the car is its handling. The steering wheel is very sensitive, instantly responds to manipulation. The suspension is comfortable, especially if the road surface is of the right quality. For the summer I put wheels of the 18th radius, the car immediately became much tougher. The smallest imperfections of the asphalt are felt.

2. If you have 4WD, then you have wet clutches.
3. If you have a DSG and a motor "along", then you have an Audi :-)
4. Apparently, the age of the legendary all-wheel drive Audi Quattro with the famous Torsen differential is coming to an end.
Question 002:
Q: How do I know which box is installed on my car?
A: Option 1: Connect the diagnostic device to the vehicle, enter block 02 - Gearbox electronics and read the identification data. The first three characters of the box ID and mechatronics designate your box.
For example: 0AM 300049H is a seven-speed DSG with dry clutches of the 0AM type. Or 02E 300051R - six-speed DSG with wet clutches type 02E, etc.
Option 2: Look by the VIN-code of the vehicle in the electronic spare parts catalog ETKA.
Option 3: Send the VIN-code of the car to our address, we will check and send you an answer.

Question 003:

Question 005:
Q:What is mechatronics?
A:Mechatronic (mechatronic, mechatron, valve body, brain) is an electronic-hydraulic gearbox control unit. Perhaps the most important, but at the same time, the most unreliable component in the entire transmission.

Question 006:
Q:What is the difference between mechatronics?
A:
Each type of DSG has its own type of mechatronics. Mechatronics from different DSG types are not interchangeable. Moreover, for some types of DSG, there are several generations of mechatronics that also differ from each other. And for each type and generation of mechatronics, there are many software versions designed for different engines and different gear ratios in the gearbox. In some cases, mechatronics of the same type can be reprogrammed (reflash) for installation on different vehicles. You can read more about the firmware.

Question 007:
Q:Which DSG is better / more reliable?
A:
There is no definite answer to this question. Each type of DSG has its own advantages and disadvantages. And the duration of the "life" of any DSG largely depends on the conditions of its operation, such as:
- Ambient temperature. All DSGs do not like overheating, especially DSGs with "dry" clutches, in which the mechatronic has a separate oil circuit and there is no cooling
;
- Driving mode. Those who spend several hours every day in traffic jams have more chances to come to replace mechatronics than those who mainly travel long distances along the highway;
- Driving style. Those who like to "give a corner" and "light up at a traffic light" have a much higher probability of getting a replacement clutch and differential than those who prefer a quiet ride.

Question 008:
Q: I have DSG7 0AM.Do I need to switch the selector to neutral when standing at a traffic light or in a traffic jam?
A: No need.
Unlike conventional manual gearboxes, the clutch on the DSG7 0AM is normally open. And it closes only when the mechatronic starts to extend the clutch release rods. When you (or autohold) hold the car in place by pressing the brake, the mechatronics clutch rods are retracted and the clutches are open. Accordingly, no load is transferred to the gearbox or clutch. In what position the selector knob is in this case - it does not matter.

Question 009:
Q: Over time, there were jerks when changing gears. Previously, the car was running fine, shifting was smooth, but recentlyjerks and shocks appeared when shifting gears. Can this be fixed by reprogramming the box ECU (software update)?
A: No, you can't. The software cannot "deteriorate" over time and cause the CP to malfunction. If the car previously drove correctly, and then stopped, then the problem lies in the hardware, and not in the software.
Reprogramming the mechatronics can only help if the mechatronics was changed and the unit with the wrong software was installed. You can read more about reprogramming.

Question 010:
Q:How to find out the software version in mechatronics?
Question 011:
Q: DSG7 shift knob is locked in position P, how to unlock it in order to shiftbox to neutral?
A: Brief instructions for unlocking the DSG7 0AM selector.

Question 012:
Q: Will changing the oil in mechatronics DSG7 0AM (0CW) help to remove the "kicks" on gear changes?
A: No, it won't help. Such malfunctions are eliminated by repairing the hydraulic part of the mechatronics. In the initial stages, adaptation (basic setting) can help, but rather as an exception than a rule.

Question 014:
Q: After replacing the DSG7 0AM mechatronics, errors "06247 P1867 - Drive data bus no messages from the steering column electronics - J527" and "06227 P1853 Drive data bus implausible message from the ABS control unit" are displayed in the event recorder. How do I remove them?
A:It is necessary to reset the information about the installed components (steering column switches, electric parking brake, etc.). To do this, you need to make a basic installation on channel 69. After the basic installation has been completed, errors will change from "permanent" to "sporadically" and you can delete them.

When using VCDS software (VAG-COM, VASYA-Diagnost, etc.):
"02-Gearbox electronics" -> "Basic parameters - 04" -> In the "Group" field enter the value 69 -> Press "Read".

When using softwareVAS-PC:
"Self-diagnosis" ->
"02-Gearbox electronics" -> "006-Basic setting"-> In the "Group" field enter the value 69 -> Press "Q".

When using softwareODIS:
"Self-diagnosis" ->"02-Electronics KP" ->"Basic Installation" ->Enter value 69 -> Press "Channel selection".

After the basic installation, the event recorder must be cleaned.

Question 015:
Q:Structurally, DSG7 0AM and DSG7 0CW are practically the same transmissions (DQ200 family), is there any difference between the mechatronics installed on them?
A:
The main difference is the physical and software changes to the electronic control board. In particular, 0CW boards are tied to the vehicle immobilizer system. You can read more about the differences in mechatronics 0AM and 0CW.

Nozzles ?! Where is it? Electrician? Nope, didn't hear. Is DSG weak? Come on, make fun of you! Many owners of even already experienced Q3 crossovers speak about this on Internet forums. However, it is not without its drawbacks. More precisely, delicate places, which will not hurt to examine before buying this transport.

Strange, the Audi Q3 is not a cheap car, but the cost of consumables for it remains humane. Unless, of course, we are talking about the turbine of the TFSI engine or the repair of the S-Tronic robotic box - in fact, the same DSG-7 with two clutches floating in an oil bath. Immediately after its appearance, the crossover quickly gained popularity, although it was one of the most expensive in the segment. Perhaps, the positive reputation affected, on whose platform PQ35 it was created.

After 50 thousand km, claims for interior trim may appear. For example, the steering column lining plastic can creak. In addition, the plastic panels in the leg area are quickly scratched and rubbed off. In terms of interior ergonomics, the only complaint about the poorly located MMI selector on the center console

At first, the car was equipped with four turbocharged 2-liter engines - a pair of TFSI petrol engines (170 and 211 hp) and a pair of diesels (140 and 177 hp). A little later, they were joined by the 1.4 TFSI, which was installed on the base version with front-wheel drive. There were two boxes: 6-speed mechanics and 7-speed "robot" S-Tronic.

In 2014, Audi introduced, and in 2015 began selling a restyled version of the crossover. The appearance has not changed much. Changes affected optics, front and rear bumpers and traditionally a radiator grill. But the main innovation was the line of more economical gasoline and diesel engines. In addition, the basic equipment is now available with front-wheel drive.

Still, it will be a little expensive

Gasoline engines are economical and environmentally friendly, but not without inherent problems. The main one is “maslozhor”. How else to call oil consumption up to 1.5 liters per 1000 km? They sin mainly on flat pistons and thin rings. But there are suspicions that VW has saved on cylinder wall material. After 100 thousand km you can find scratches there. Well, soot on the pistons, on the valves. Failures of knock sensors, catalyst and oxygen sensors are not uncommon.

Don't look for the spaciousness of the Tiguan in the Q3's cabin. Only two riders can comfortably sit on the back sofa. The trunk is also not gigantic, although the folding seats somehow save the situation. Yes, and you shouldn't think that you are buying an SUV. It is better to stay away from the real "off-road" on this car with a ground clearance of 170 mm

The timing chain on the 2-liter TFSI makes service visits not as frequent as the "oil grinder". But at the same time, the chain has a moderate resource, and the second or third owner will still have to change it. The budget for the procedure (with work) can reach 60,000 rubles. Not so little, so it's definitely worth touching the chain tension when buying a car. You can also get your "charms" when replacing the turbine. This story is at least one hundred thousand rubles. So diesel units, which are also more economical, look preferable to gasoline ones in terms of reliability. Although diesel is a little more expensive to maintain.

2015 Audi RS Q3. The difference between the RS Q3 and the "civilian" version is not in the increased body length by 25 mm and extra pounds. The main thing is the 2.5-liter five-cylinder petrol turbo engine, known from the TT RS sports car. On the RS Q3, it produced 310 "horses" and produced 420 Nm of torque. Acceleration to hundreds - 5.5 seconds. In the secondary market, such a purchase does not look very promising.
