The main differences between the diesel engine from the gasoline is the method of fuel ignition. In diesel, this is due to the self-ignition of the diesel fuel that comes into contact with the cylinder is strongly compressed and preheated air.

There are two ways to solve:

  • Increase the degree of compression, thereby accelerating the combustion rate of the gas-air mixture.
  • Displacement angle of advance towards earlier.

The second is easier to implement and less cost. It is achieved by installing a variator of the ignition advance angle connected to the crankshaft position sensor with the subsequent adjustment of its data to a given value. Along the way, the variator is connected to the gas valve and its work starts only when GBO starts, in order not to interfere when the engine works on gasoline. The angle offset will lead to an earlier ignition of the gas-air mixture, which will allow it to be inserted to burn until the opening of the exhaust valves, thereby protecting the same valve and catalyst from excessive thermal exposure.

Ignition problems, regardless of whether it is early or later, the good does not promise anything.
