Technical characteristics of a Chevrolet Orlando car. New Chevrolet Orlando price, photos, videos, configurations, technical characteristics of Chevrolet Orlando. Options and price of Chevrolet Orlando

In 2008 at Paris Motor Show concept was presented Chevrolet minivan Orlando, and in 2010 it was presented there serial version car. Chevrolet Orlando- five-door seven-seater minivan on a sedan platform C-class Chevrolet Cruze. Orlando dimensions are 4470 mm long, 1780 mm wide, 1650 mm high and 2760 mm wheelbase. It turns out that the minivan is only 12 cm longer than the Cruze, and ground clearance these cars are completely the same. The model is distinguished by such features as convenience, versatility, excellent design and safety. It is noteworthy that for Chevrolet This is the first minivan aimed at Europe rather than the North American market.

The car has an interesting and memorable design. At the same time, it is clearly recognizable as a representative of the Chevrolet family thanks to the split radiator grille with the corporate logo in the center. The front of the car is brutal in American style. The first thing that catches your eye is the high-mounted headlight optics and an impressively sized bumper with a clearly defined air intake. Speakers wheel arches(accommodates 16-18 inch wheels) and the high side window line create the impression of massiveness and security for passengers. The designers brought the rear part of the body as close as possible to the shape of a cube. Overall, no frills: vertical backdoor, strict lanterns. Unique distinctive feature Orlando is rear fog light, installed in the center of the bumper. In a word, the exterior turned out to be quite original and energetic.

The seven-seater cabin can offer unlimited possibilities, which are sometimes so necessary when transporting passengers and cargo, the best part is that there are 30 combinations of how the seats can be installed. Three rows of seats are arranged according to the principle of seating in a theater hall, i.e., each next row is raised. In addition, the second-row outboard seats can not only fold, but also recline forward, creating a convenient passage to the third-row seats. Seats for passengers are surrounded by a large number of convenient niches and containers for storing all kinds of small items. Orlando has plenty of storage compartments different sizes, shape and location. These include: two large cup holders in the center console, a coin holder, and bottle pockets in the doors. The unusual “secret” compartment, which is hidden behind the audio system panel, is the most interesting design solution. To open it, just lift the audio system panel. This compartment is large enough to fit a wallet or sunglasses. Inside this compartment there may be a standard connector or a USB port. It depends on the configuration.

Available as an option a roof with a panoramic view for additional interior lighting. If necessary, the interior space can be transformed into a large luggage compartment with a flat floor. The volume of usable space with the second and third row seats folded reaches 1,487 liters (852 liters to the window line).

The well-organized instrument console is reminiscent of the elongated dual cockpit, complemented by pleasant blue lighting and useful features such as MP3 and iPod ports. The instruments are located in recesses and, due to the visors, create a strict and “sporty” impression, and the design of the gear lever mounted on the control panel is successfully combined with the appearance of the central and floor consoles. Orlando received a multifunctional steering wheel with V-shaped spokes and control buttons for the audio and entertainment systems.

Under the hood of the Orlando there may be one of three engines. Petrol version with a volume of 1.8 liters, power 141 hp. A car equipped with this engine can reach speeds of up to 185 km/h. Diesel options two: 2-liter with 131 hp. and 2-liter with 163 hp. There are two gearboxes for the engines - a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic with manual shifting.

The Orlando is equipped with a MacPherson strut front suspension and a rear semi-independent suspension with a combined transverse beam. Thanks to the use of hydraulic supports in the front suspension, a high level of control over the behavior of the car is ensured and passengers are isolated from vibrations on any road.

Buyers have a choice of three trim levels (Base, LS and LT). Basic version Chevrolet Orlando will have a manual transmission, four airbags, a CD\MP3 audio system, heated seats (front only) and power accessories for the side mirrors.

Safety features at its best high level. Six airbags (2 front, 2 side and 2 window curtains) provide reliable protection passengers. High-strength steel, which is used in the manufacture of most of the power structure body, forms a kind of “protective ring” around passengers, which minimizes deformations of the passenger compartment during lateral and frontal collisions and also in the event of a rear impact. Orlando is also equipped with a system that allows you to automatically unlock door locks in case of an accident.

A family car from a well-known manufacturer that has the body of a compact minivan is the Chevrolet Orlando - a car presented to the public at the Paris Motor Show in 2008, and the launch serial production was started in 2010.

This car was created on the now popular platform and we can say that it turned out well. This model came as a replacement in the company’s line.

Design

Many argue that appearance is the most weak side of this car, since compared to other models in this class it does not look attractive and does not stand out in any way. Nevertheless, you can hardly call him not beautiful, just look at the photos and videos, and you yourself will understand that calling him ugly or not beautiful will not work.

Let's start with the front part, it contains a large head optics, which succinctly fits into the design of the model. The face also acquired a signature radiator grille with a huge logo. All this gives the car solidity. The large bumper has air intakes and fog lights, as well as a lip that improves aerodynamics.

When looking at the profile, you understand that the model has good off-road performance and can perform well in this element. There are linings along the bottom that are designed to protect the body from damage when driving off-road. The rear view mirror is mounted on a leg, which is an attribute sports cars and that's why it doesn't look right here. Rear end It has vertical drains and a huge tailgate. The pentagonal headlights also look good.

Technical characteristics of Chevrolet Orlando

Nothing surprising or super-fast is offered to the buyer of this car, since this is not at all necessary for a family car, it is an ordinary engine with ordinary characteristics. There are only two types of engines in the line, a gasoline and a diesel power unit. Gasoline engine has a volume of 1.8 liters and a power of 141 horsepower, and a diesel engine has a volume of 2 liters and a power of 163 horsepower. These internal combustion engines operate in tandem with either a 5-speed or 6-speed gearbox.

The buyer can choose the type of drive, it will be either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive in cases where a trip out of town to the country is possible.

It cannot be said that Chevrolet Orlando engines can boast of dynamic performance; acceleration is weak, but it is more than enough for city driving. Also, the units do not show much high performance fuel consumption, the regular version of the engine consumes 7 liters of gasoline and a little more if installed automatic transmission transmission The diesel engine has approximately the same figure.

Interior

Since this family car The main attention here is paid to the interior, as evidenced by the presence of 3 rows of seats for passengers. It was also thought out that the family would be transporting something, and if we fold the third row of seats in the car, we would get a luggage compartment of almost 1000 liters, and if we also fold the second row of seats, then the volume luggage compartment will increase to 1594 liters.

The model received 5 safety stars and percentage received a high percentage of child safety because the manufacturer really thought about this when creating the car. The center console and in general everything that surrounds the driver is very similar to Chevrolet Cruze, so we won’t tell you everything, but you can just look at the photo or read the article about Cruise. The interior is of high quality and you can’t argue with that.

The interior of the Chevrolet Orlando is already his strong point, everything here looks beautiful and tasteful. Many people see great similarities with the Cruze in the interior, and this is true; many interior details are taken from the Cruze. The center console has an impressive display multimedia system, under which there are keys to control this system. Below, as on many cars, there are selectors for controlling the air conditioning and heater, and then there is the gearbox selector.

The steering wheel is 3-spoke and it was taken from Cruise, but dashboard the other, it has in-depth analog instruments with blue backlighting and a large on-board computer, there are of course similarities, but there are also differences. By the way, the steering wheel is adjustable both in height and reach. It will be comfortable to sit in the front; the seats are comfortable and heated.

Rear passengers can also be accommodated comfortably; three people can fit there without any problems. They have the ability to adjust the backrest angle. There is more than enough headroom and plenty of legroom too. For back row Airflow deflectors are provided. There is also a third row of seats, which is quite easy to sit on; you just need to fold down one seat of the second row and that’s all. The third row has only two seats, and in terms of space it can accommodate even adult passengers.

Options and price of Chevrolet Orlando

The model had a total of 4 configurations, each of which was supplemented with something. Present LTZ configuration, LT, LT+ and base LS.

  • heated electric mirrors;
  • audio system

The LT and LT+ versions, in addition to everything previous, received:

There were also paid options that required the presence of displays for rear passengers, accordingly with this DVD system. A navigation system and leather interior were also offered. When the model was still on sale for basic equipment it was necessary to pay 760,000 rubles, and the top version would cost 910,000 rubles. Based on these numbers, you can roughly guess how much it will cost you this model on secondary market. By the way, diesel version it was more expensive; for the most expensive one you had to pay a little more than 1 million rubles.

There is nothing surprising about it and we are talking about it only for those people who want to buy it and need information about this car. This is an excellent option for a family, so purchasing a Chevrolet Orlando will be successful.

Video

New Chevrolet Orlando first appeared on the market back in 2010, although the minivan was shown as a concept back in 2008. Chevrolet Orlando is notable for the fact that it has a 7-seater interior in all trim levels.

Chevrolet Orlando is based on the Chevrolet Cruze. The Orlando minivan is slightly shorter than the Cruze station wagon, but longer than the Chevrolet Cruze sedan and hatchback. However, the wheelbase of the Chevrolet Orlando is increased by 7.5 centimeters relative to the Cruze family.

Enough simple shapes body, high roof, vertical rear door makes the Chevrolet Orlando very roomy inside. By the way, the design of the minivan was created by the Korean Shongwu Kim. The third row of seats is located in the trunk. Moreover, when folded, the trunk floor is completely flat. If you fold the second row of seats, you end up with a huge flat loading platform. Quite a convenient interior transformation scheme.

As for power units, until recently only a 1.8-liter gasoline engine was offered in Russia. But recently a 2-liter diesel engine has appeared and perhaps a gasoline turbo engine with a volume of only 1.4 liters will appear. Where is Chevrolet Orlando assembled? For Russia? Chevrolet Orlando is produced in Kaliningrad at the Avtotor plant. It’s difficult to call it a full-fledged production, since they only carry out large-scale assembly; the car itself is made in Korea.

The exterior of the car is made in the general style of the manufacturer’s corporate style. Below we offer photos appearance Chevrolet Orlando. And of course photos of the salon and Chevrolet trunk Orlando. It is the trunk and the size of the interior that buyers of this minivan are primarily concerned about. Plus, of course, the possibility of transforming the cabin to transport different numbers of passengers and large and small cargo. Next in the photo you will see how the seats in the Chevrolet Orlando are fully or partially folded. In total, the car has 16 different combinations of interior transformation.

Technical characteristics of Chevrolet Orlando

Let's start describing the characteristics with Chevrolet sizes Orlando, which are not that big compared to classic American minivans. This is understandable; the car was primarily made for Europe. So the length is 4,652 mm, which corresponds to the length of a C-class car. Wheelbase the defining salon is of course increased and amounts to 2,760 mm. But the main thing is of course Chevrolet Orlando trunk volumes. If you fold both the second and third rows of seats, the length of the cargo space will be about 2.6 meters, and the total volume of loading space will be 1584 liters. If you fold only the third row of seats, the luggage compartment will be 466 liters. When traveling, with three rows of seats in use, only 89 liters remain in the trunk. Chevrolet clearance Orlando about 160 mm. Further detailed dimensions Chevrolet Orlando dimensions.

As for power Chevrolet units Orlando, today buyers have access to a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with a power of 141 hp. and a diesel engine with a volume of 2 liters and a capacity of 163 liters. It is quite possible that buyers will soon be offered a 1.4-liter petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 140 hp. With seemingly comparable power in horsepower With a naturally aspirated 1.8 liter, the 1.4 turbo engine is more economical and produces more torque, which is useful for a family car with a decent payload.

The Chevrolet Orlando has two transmissions: a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The minivan itself is exclusively front-wheel drive; there are no 4x4 versions. I wonder what manual transmission and automatic transmission are inherited from the Chevrolet Cruze. Wherein modern machine gun quite economical, especially with a diesel engine. By the way diesel engine Orlando is compatible exclusively with an automatic rifle. Further parameters of power units, fuel consumption, engine dynamics.

Video Chevrolet Orlando

Test drive Chevrolet Orlando, where they talk about the many disadvantages of a compact van.

Another test drive video Chevrolet Orlando, which is interesting to see. More positive review than the previous video.

Chevrolet Orlando crash test video. According to EuroNKAP, the car received its 5 stars for safety. Let's see what happens to the car in the event of an accident.

IN general Chevrolet The Orlando is a spacious family car at a relatively low price when compared with its closest competitors, which are practically non-existent in our country, since cars of this class are not in mass demand. American-Korean Chevrolet Orlando with diesel engine, automatic and cruise control are generally an ideal combination for trips to the sea, for example. But the diesel Chevrolet Orlando is more expensive than its gasoline counterpart and is offered only in the richest configuration.

I’ve been reading reviews for a long time, and I decided to write about my current device myself. Chevrolet Orlando was purchased in 2014, it was needed roomy car for every day, as well as for transporting various dimensional “junk” for work needs.

Seven places were desirable, since we often go with friends to neighboring cities. A situation arises when literally 1-2 people cannot fit in and you have to drive an extra car because of this.

Before Orlando there was a 2005 Corolla hatchback in the 120 body with a 1.6 engine and a 4-speed automatic, before it there was a three-door Niva. I won’t describe the process of visiting showrooms, test drives and other things.

Let me just say that as a result of everything, I purchased a Chevrolet Orlando in the LTZ configuration with a rag interior. I chose the rag interior on purpose because I don’t like leather, and if I suddenly decide to like it, I can always order eco-leather covers.

Impression

What did you get? The 1.8 engine is paired with a GM 6T40 6-speed gearbox. Starting from 2013, they put on the box additional radiator, which should have had a positive effect on its reliability, with which cars of 2011-2012 had problems. The car drives quite decently with this combination, even with fully loaded 7 people with things.

But here it should be noted that heating and putting down the switch in order to save a few minutes on long-distance hauls is not in my habits. Therefore, we usually drive a maximum of +10-15 km/h to the speed limit allowed by the signs.

The engine is enough for overtaking at these speeds, the transmission shifts adequately. Needs to switch to manual mode I haven’t tested it in two years and 20,000 km. In general, for calm ride- everything is as it should be.

The suspension is quite stiff, large potholes are well felt by all passengers and the driver. Small irregularities, however, are “swallowed” quite normally.

In general, for the sensations experienced by those sitting in the back, it’s a “three” plus. In winter, in this sense, it becomes better due to the tires, because the summer wheels are standard, 17" 215/50 Kumho. For the winter I took the 16th cast and Nordman 4 215/65.

Ground clearance on summer ones is ~15.5 cm, on winter ones - a centimeter more. There is enough to conquer cities, factories and villages, but I didn’t initially count on more. By the way, as I understand it, the 2011-2012 cars came with “Korean” chassis settings and their ground clearance was lower than that of later batches.

My consumption in the city is about 11.5-12.5 liters, on the highway about 8.0. I run 95. I think the consumption is normal. 64 liter tank.

For two years there were no problems with the engine, chassis, or transmission. There is nothing to complain about here, I don’t remember any incidents either. I only changed the bulbs in the foglights (one burned out, I had long wanted to put yellow bulbs in the PTF, I took advantage of the opportunity).

Just a month ago, the light bulb in the neighbor also burned out. I installed Osram Night Breaker. The standard light after the Corolla was more than satisfactory, but after replacing the bulbs I realized that there was still room for improvement.

Over the course of two years, we visited Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Perm, Tyumen, Karabash, Kamensk, Krasnouralsk and a number of other cities in our and nearby regions for work and not so work needs.

After 300-500 km I didn’t feel particularly tired behind the wheel, the driver’s position was quite comfortable, the seat and steering wheel adjustments were more than enough for me personally. The passengers, for the most part, were also quite satisfied. Moreover, even the passengers in the third row on the way to Ufa somehow managed to get comfortable (while being buckled up) and endure more than 500 km of travel, maintaining the ability to walk and enjoy life.

Actually, since I already started about the seating and interior of the Chevrolet Orlando, I’ll continue. All seats, except the driver's, fold flat. From front panel to trunk door at the same time ~3.2 meters, so you can quite easily transport various skirting boards and panels. It came in handy when we purchased this stuff for repairs. At the same time, we still have 3 seats left, in addition to the driver’s (2/3 of the second row + 1 seat of the third).

In general, the transformation of Orlando's interior is not the richest. Nothing rotates around its axis, doesn’t roll back and forth (except for the first row), and so on. However, this does not create problems.

The second row folds in a 2:1 ratio, and the third row also consists of two separate seats that can be folded separately. With the third row folded down, the trunk remains a pitiful parody and can fit a maximum of three medium-sized backpacks. In this regard, I have been planning to buy a roof rack for a year now. Yes, we should...

People up to 180 cm tall (together) were able to sit in the gallery with relative comfort, but ideally, of course, they would seat someone shorter there. For passengers in the luggage compartment there is a 12V socket and a pair of cup holders. The second row comfortably accommodates three people. They were also not deprived of a socket and pockets.

Well, the driver has a pair of large cup holders and a wonderful niche hidden behind the radio control panel, and a large glove compartment, and pockets in the doors. There is just no eyeglass case. It was filmed by greedy Koreans using a 2014 model.

Among the amenities: there is heating of the second row of seats (on/off) and heating of the first row with three power levels, heated side mirrors, turned on together with heating rear window. There is also a panoramic mirror that allows you to see everything that is happening in 2-3 rows.

The “head” is my own. Simple, with a monochrome display. Can play music from USB / AUX / Bluetooth, display time and outside temperature. In essence, nothing more is required from her. For navigation I use a phone, the holder for which is inserted into the slot of the CD player. The sound quality is sufficient to not wince from horror and unbearable suffering.

Visibility in the Chevrolet Orlando does not raise any questions, except that I would like the pillars to be a little narrower. The mirrors are large and comfortable, the parking sensors do their job. I don’t have a camera and don’t feel the need for one.

You can, of course, also say that “the plastic in the interior is simple and rough, the rag interior could have been more pretentious in general”... But after 20,000 km and two years, I have no complaints about the quality of the interior. Except that the glossy inserts are annoying. They collect too much dust.

In frosts down to -33 it started without problems; I don’t remember any lower temperatures recently. The interior warms up quite quickly, and in the summer the air conditioner also copes with its duties. Nothing rattles, doesn't fall off, doesn't knock.

Bottom line

In general, this is such a car. It runs and doesn't break down unnecessary sounds does not publish. For your money (at the time of purchase - 930,000 rubles), in my opinion, quite worthy solution. I will continue to travel.
