Fourth generation LPG electrical installation rules. Gas-petrol switch button LPG connection diagram, 2nd generation

After deciding to transfer your vehicle to gas fuel, and the car owners have the opportunity to recoup the equipment much faster. An excellent way to reduce costs when installing 4th generation HBO is do-it-yourself installation.

In order to qualitatively mount gas equipment on a car, you will need a certain set of equipment and tools:

  • HBO set 4;
  • with clamps 60-80cm long Ø4-5mm and Ø12mm 50-100cm (for 4 cylinder engine); 40-70cm Ø6mm vacuum tube; cooling system hose with two metal tees corresponding to the size of the inlet / outlet on the gearbox - selected individually for the car;
  • thermoplastic gas tube of the required length (copper or aluminum can be used);
  • auto tools;
  • drill and / or screwdriver;
  • drills (Ø4.8mm, crown 30mm);
  • tap 6mm;
  • electrical tape, heat shrink tube, construction hair dryer;
  • soldering iron (materials for soldering wiring);
  • multimeter;
  • metal clamps / brackets with self-tapping screws (for attaching highways under the bottom);
  • spray can of anti-corrosion treatment or auto enamel;
  • internal combustion engine intake manifold gasket.

You will also need a lift / flyover or observation pit.

How to connect all elements of the gas system

Each set of 4 generation LPG equipment must have a connection diagram for an injection car, according to which the system is installed. For different manufacturers, it may differ slightly (for example, an electrical circuit), but the general installation principle for all types of gas equipment is the same.

Schematic diagram of the installation of HBO 4

The installation process begins with the engine compartment. To begin with, it is advisable to protect the paintwork of the car by covering the cladding and fenders with rag material. Remove the battery terminals.

Correct installation of gas injectors

Conclusion

At first glance, self-installation of fourth-generation gas equipment may seem quite complicated, but if you look at it, everything is much easier than it seems. The time spent on installation will be no more than one day. The cost of installing HBO in a specialized center often exceeds the price of the equipment itself, so connecting the equipment with your own hands is not a bad idea at all, but there are certain nuances about it.

- a frequent guest on the roads of modern Russia. Gasoline and diesel prices are growing, and the economy is far from ideal, as a result of which motorists are actively switching to cheap gas. Of course, the costs of installing and registering HBO are considerable, but with the active operation of the machine, they will pay off in an extremely short time. In a number of articles, our resource has already examined in detail the main components of gas equipment, the procedure for its installation and legalization, however, the issue of installing the LPG button has not been covered. Correcting this misunderstanding, we present to you today's material. It is in it that everyone will be able to find answers to questions about what the HBO button is, how to install it and why it is needed in principle. Interesting? Be sure to go down the page.

Features of connecting LPG

Gas equipment of any formation is an equipment that allows you to adapt a gasoline engine to power and work on gas. As a rule, the most popular and used plants are fired with propane or methane. Regardless of the type, LPG is not a replacement for a standard injector or carburetor, but only a convenient and high-quality alternative. That is, having installed gas, any motorist gets the opportunity to use his vehicle both by replenishing with gas fuel and with ordinary gasoline.

Switching between the fuel supply of the motor cannot occur in an automated manner, because this aspect of the machine's operation is set personally by the motorist. To transfer the engine operating mode to gas from gasoline or vice versa, special equipment is used, called the LPG button.

In fact, this element of the equipment design is a device that works in conjunction with both the gas equipment control unit and the electronic "brains" of the engine injector or carburetor. The principle of its operation is based on the fact that with the help of fine electronic tuning, pressing a button blocks the operation of one fuel distribution unit and connects it to the operation of another. Thus, the supply of gasoline is switched over to the supply of gas, or the reverse operation is carried out.

It turns out that the button for switching engine operating modes is one of the most important units in the control of all gas equipment. Moreover, it does not matter whether the second generation LPG machine is running or LPG 4 is installed. In any case, the switch is needed and it performs the most important role, adapting the engine operating mode to the wishes of the motorist.

Types of buttons

The LPG button is exactly the element that any gas equipment is equipped with when it is sold. Despite this, the loss and damage of the fuel switch happens quite often, as a result of which the question of choosing new buttons is always relevant among gas motorists. There are no particular difficulties in the selection of a new component of LPG, except for the fact that you need to acquire the form of a button specifically for a specific car.

Based on the last point, it is worth noting the presence of the classification of the HBO buttons, which is carried out according to:

  • The type of equipment available (it is not surprising that completely different types of switches are used for HBO 2 and HBO 4);
  • The type of main fuel system. It should be understood that the LPG buttons are different for carburetors and injectors, because the electronic control of these mechanisms is significantly different. It is also stupid to be surprised at something here, since the injector nozzles and the carburetor valve are completely different mechanisms.

In addition to the basic types of classification, the LPG buttons are also subdivided according to their functional equipment. That is, some devices are aimed only at turning off the gasoline supply to the engine and connecting the gas supply, while others also have an external display, which displays information regarding the operation of the equipment, coming from electronic sensors. Naturally, the buttons of the second formation are much more difficult to install, because the process covers the connection not only of control units for fuel distribution mechanisms, but also third-party electronics.

It is worth noting that today you can find such switch buttons that are capable of organizing the supply of gasoline at one speed in the operation of the engine, and gas at others. However, the use of such devices is not recommended by experienced "automobile gasmen". Experts argue their position by the fact that the LPG button is the fastest breaking LPG unit, so why load it with unnecessary functions?

Regardless of the type of switch selected, it must perform its main function - at the right time, turn off the gas supply from the carburetor, injector and turn on the gas supply, or carry out the reverse operation. All other button functions are a nice addition and should certainly not be the main reference points when choosing a device.

Switch mounting

Considering that the LPG buttons are also different for different generations and formations of the motor, it is impossible to give a specific order of their installation. Fortunately for many motorists, the procedure for installing the switches is necessarily included in the instructions attached to them, therefore, when carrying out this operation, it is enough to study in detail the technical documentation attached to the device. In general, the installation process of the device is as follows:

  1. First of all, the connection of specific wires to the control units of the carburetor or injector and the gas equipment itself is carried out;
  2. Then, if the LPG button assumes the implementation of the output of the indicators of the sensors, the wires intended for this are connected directly with the identifiers. Also, if there is an automatic selection of the fuel used, the switch is connected to the main engine sensors, namely, the nodes that monitor the crankshaft speed and the temperature inside the engine;
  3. After carrying out the above operations, it remains only to mount the button in a convenient place, usually inside the cabin, and start actively using it.

To give more specific information, we repeat, is impossible due to the presence of a large number of types of HBO buttons. In any case, it is rather difficult to make a mistake in their installation, because the detailed installation procedure is attached in a special instruction. An example of this is the following connection diagram.

It is worth noting that there are several options for mounting the LPG button. The differences between them lie either in the placement of the device (located in the cabin, outside the cabin), or in the way of turning off the supply of one or another type of fuel. In addition to addressing the control units of the fuel distribution mechanisms, connecting the LPG button is possible by breaking the fuel lines in specific places (for example, in a gasoline pump). In this regard, any motorist can experiment and choose something at his own discretion.

As you can see in the answer to the question of how to connect the LPG button, there are no difficulties. In the process of installing this unit, it is enough to take into account all the features that your gas equipment and the car's fuel system have, and also strictly adhere to the order of installing the switch from the instructions attached to it. We assure you that by installing the button in this way, the procedure will be completed successfully for you and will not cause much trouble.

This, perhaps, is all for today's question. We hope the above material was useful for you and provided answers to your questions. Good luck on the road!

If you have any questions - leave them in the comments below the article. We or our visitors will be happy to answer them.

On a car, it significantly reduces the cost of gasoline. However, is propane or methane a good fuel for all engines? Will it shorten the service life of the internal combustion engine? Experts assure that properly selected and configured equipment will not harm the motor, and the owner will really help to save money.

How much will HBO cost?

The cost of LPG equipment for a car depends on the set. It includes:

  • electronic control unit;
  • reducer;
  • balloon;
  • filling device;
  • multivalve;
  • filter;
  • nozzles;
  • highways;
  • switch button.

For each engine, a set is selected either from one manufacturer, or a prefabricated one. For example: ECU from Stag, and gearbox, cylinder and injector from Lovato.

The price of HBO is influenced not only by its layout, but also by the type of cylinder. It can be cylindrical - installed in the trunk, or toroidal - for installation in a niche instead of a spare wheel. The latter is more expensive.

The more powerful and more complex the engine, the more expensive the LPG will cost. Equipment price - from 11 thousand rubles.

How to choose the right equipment for your car?

It will be difficult for a car owner who has not previously encountered gas equipment to make his choice. To avoid problems with the engine in the future, it is worth entrusting the selection, installation and configuration of LPG equipment to trusted specialists. According to the characteristics of the internal combustion engine, they will select the necessary equipment and advise on operating issues.

It should be noted that the gasoline engine is not designed to work with gas. Therefore, car manufacturers, when installing factory gas equipment, also make changes to the internal combustion engine, adjusting it to work on gas.

Pros and cons of installing HBO

Taking into account the feedback from the drivers, it is possible to formulate the advantages and disadvantages of gas equipment for cars.

Positive sides:

  1. Significant savings on refueling. No matter how fuel prices rise, gas always remains cheaper than both gasoline and diesel. The price of HBO pays off a year after its installation.
  2. Low engine loads. Gas has a higher octane number, therefore, it burns longer, reducing the load on the internal combustion engine. The mixture "gas + air" is more uniform, does not dry the cylinders, does not affect the consistency of the oil, thereby increasing the service life of the motor.
  3. Minimal damage to the environment. The exhaust gas contains two-thirds less harmful substances than the exhaust from gasoline or diesel.
  4. Increase in mileage from refueling to refueling. The car runs on two types of fuel, respectively, when the gas runs out, you can go on gasoline.
  5. Safety. Rumors that the LPG cylinder could explode from temperature extremes or shock were denied by the German car owner protection club ADAC. Under his supervision, they conducted crash tests of cylinders in fire and accident conditions. The results were satisfactory.

Few cons:

  1. Not every gas station has a gas station. HBO repair is carried out only at specialized service stations.
  2. Slight decrease in speed, decrease in engine power by 15%.
  3. Influence of high and low temperatures. If the car warms up in the sun, the gas pressure in the cylinder increases. To lower it, you need to produce several liters. In frosty conditions, the gas liquefies and refuses to enter the system. So in winter you can start the engine only with gasoline.
  4. The increase in the mass of the car. The whole structure of the gas equipment adds 60 kg to the weight of the machine. The cylinder installed in the boot takes up an average of 40 liters of space.
  5. Gas leak. The likelihood of this is small, but it is present in the event of improper operation and untimely maintenance.

Installation of HBO 4th generation

At a specialized station, the car owner will be offered a whole range of turnkey services: from the selection of LPG equipment to installation and full customization. They will give a guarantee and consult. The price of the issue varies from 30,000 to 70,000 rubles.

Experienced experts know where it is better to place the reducer, how to connect the antifreeze line and carefully route the gas supply and filling pipes.

You can install and configure the 4th generation HBO with your own hands.

Where to carry out the work?

Gas equipment is installed on a flyover or in a pit box. It is necessary to have a set of tools, protective gloves and good lighting.

Choosing a place for fixing the gearbox

Required installation conditions:

  • the place where the gearbox is installed must be easily accessible for its removal and replacement of filters;
  • you need to mount the gearbox on the machine frame, and not on the engine, in order to avoid vibrations;
  • the supplied hoses and pipes must not be twisted or kinked.

After assessing the length of the hoses and the accessibility, you can attach the reducer.

Features of connecting hoses for antifreeze:

  • they are connected strictly parallel to the system;
  • it is important to determine where the "entrance" and "exit" of the antifreeze are located in the stove;
  • the hoses are connected (cut) to the shut-off valve using a tee.

Equipment for a place for a cylinder

If a toroidal (spare) cylinder is chosen, it is important to position it so that the gas supply and refueling pipes are located correctly: they should not come into contact with a hot muffler or vibrating body parts.

The LPG cylinder is rigidly attached, the multivalve is located in its upper part.

Laying the main pipe

The main pipe is necessary in order for the gas to flow from the cylinder into the reducer. Installation should be started from the gearbox, along the bottom of the car (preferably along the gasoline wire) and then connected to the multivalve.

Installation of injectors

First, it is necessary to embed the fittings as close as possible to the gasoline injector, after which the gas injectors are installed. Then the hoses for the gas supply are connected. They should be the same length, but not more than 18 cm.

Placement of the control unit and sensors

All electronics are installed under the hood. For the correct connection, an instruction is included with the HBO, which describes all the wires and contacts.

After completing the installation, we start the car. The first three times we turn the key in the ignition lock without starting the engine. This is necessary in order for the fuel pump to create the necessary pressure in the rail. After that, the car can be started. If everything is done correctly, then the next step will be to set up the 4th generation HBO with your own hands.

How to set up?

To adjust the parameters of freshly installed gas equipment, you will need a laptop, a 4th generation HBO configuration program and a special cable.

There are many programs like Zenit JZ, KME NEVO or STAG. They are similar in appearance (interface), any can be downloaded from the official site and installed. Let's consider the program for tuning HBO of the 4th generation STAG.

Its interface is quite functional. Instructions for setting up HBO 4 generations are simple and straightforward. The meaning of each parameter is deciphered in additional footnotes that pop-up on hover.

The values set at the LPG manufacturing plant are immediately displayed. If the gas equipment is not new, then the information from the controller will be displayed in the program. It will indicate how often gas was used, how many times diagnostics and adjustments were made.

If there is a new controller firmware, the program will immediately offer to install it.

You can buy a 4th generation HBO configuration cable, or you can make it yourself on the basis of the PL2303 board.

Setting options

The main window of the program contains the main indicators by which the ECU works:

  • the conditions under which the switch from petrol to gas or vice versa will occur (temperature, engine speed, pressure);
  • gas fraction (gas pressure after the reducer);
  • discharge in the collector;
  • injection period of gas and petrol injectors.

The "map" tab displays the graph of petrol (blue curve), gas injectors (green curve) and the conversion factor of petrol injection to gas injection (orange line).

On gas equipment not adjusted in time, the control unit will completely simulate the operation of gasoline injectors, which will generate an error on the on-board computer. The reason is that the mixture formation of gasoline and gas injectors will be the same, and the fuel octane number will be different: what is good for gasoline is incorrect for gas.

Calibration

At idle, the ECU measures and memorizes the operating parameters of the petrol injectors. Then the operation of one petrol injector is replaced by the operation of a gas one. All gas injectors are gradually switched on.

By alternately increasing and decreasing the injection time of gas injectors, it is necessary to bring the exhaust indicator to normal (conversion factor). To obtain the gas injection time, this factor is multiplied by the petrol injection time.

After calibration, the machine automatically switches to petrol. You need to drive it to check the settings.

Adjusting charts

After self-tuning of the 4th generation HBO, it is better not to remove the petrol card. After the check, the car will run on gas. If the card is removed, then you will have to travel temporarily on gasoline, changing the engine load and speed, until the system draws up a new map.

If the operating schedules of the petrol and gas injectors diverge, then it is necessary to adjust the 4 generation LPG card. To do this, fix the points of divergence and maximum convergence of the green and blue lines on the orange line - the settings at these points are considered optimal and should not be changed. Then, on the orange line, mark the point of maximum divergence of the gas and gasoline lines and lower it to the distance of the divergence of the lines down.

We drive the car in different modes and see if the schedules coincide. If not, then repeat the map settings until the graphs match.

Fuel injection adjustment

Adjusting the injection is the second most important phase in setting up the 4th generation HBO with your own hands.

First, we warm up the car to the operating temperature of the gearbox. We switch to petrol and observe the injection rates of petrol injectors for five minutes. We turn on the gas again, but continue to observe the gasoline indicators. If the number has increased, it means a lean mixture, if it has decreased, it means a rich mixture.

You can change this state by adjusting the orange line of the graph: if - raise the line by two clicks, if the mixture is excessively enriched - lower it.

The configuration of LPG equipment for the car is completed. If the LPG system works without interruptions: switching between injectors occurs on time and smoothly, the engine does not troit, it has good dynamics - this means that the settings have been made correctly. After some time of operation, you can re-diagnose.

Setting up the LPG gas reducer

The reducer is an essential element in the construction of gas equipment. With its help, the pressure of the gas entering the cylinder is regulated. With a stable, the reducer keeps the pressure at the same level, although with a sharp increase in flow, the pressure may decrease, but only slightly.

LPG reducer adjustment is necessary when installing new equipment. And after 100,000 km it is worth re-diagnosing and correcting it.

The correct operation of HBO depends not only on the quality of its electronic settings. After a certain period of operation (3 or 4 years), valves and diaphragms can wear out, which will lead to excessive gas consumption.

This moment can be postponed by the correct operation of the LPG (gearbox in particular): the engine should be started on the native fuel of the car (gasoline or diesel). Only after the engine temperature reaches at least 30 ° C, you can switch to gas. At low temperatures, the gearbox diaphragm can freeze. That is why the gearbox is connected to the antifreeze lines.

The 4th generation HBO reducer in setting up with your own hands is not entirely simple. There are two correction methods: adjusting the sensitivity and adjusting the amount of gas in the idle channel.

Before starting the tuning, you need to let the engine warm up, and then turn off the gas supply, allowing the engine to process the remaining fuel in it.

Idle speed adjustment:

  1. We set the power register to maximum.
  2. We turn the idle screw completely, and then unscrew it five turns.
  3. We bring the sensitivity regulator to the middle position.
  4. We start the car on gas and by suction we increase the speed to 2000.
  5. At the same time, we remove the suction (very slowly) and with the idle speed regulator we are looking for the moment when the starter reaches its maximum speed.
  6. We remove the suction completely. You should get a stable idle.
  7. We smoothly turn the sensitivity regulator.
  8. We raise the floating speed to the maximum with the idle speed regulator.
  9. The regulator did not help - we tighten the sensitivity screw a couple of turns and repeat it all over again.
  10. We achieve 1200 rpm at idle, and then smoothly reduce the idle speed regulator to 950.

Setting the gearbox sensitivity:

  1. Very slowly unscrew the sensitivity control until the idle value changes.
  2. As soon as the number of revolutions has changed, we turn the regulator back a little.
  3. We check the setting: sharply press the accelerator pedal. The engine should react immediately - without jerking or lagging.

Power register adjustment:

  1. We bring the starter speed to 3500 by turning the power regulator.
  2. As soon as the turnover starts to fall, we stop the procedure.

Checking the quality of the setting:

  1. We sharply press the accelerator pedal.
  2. We twist the sensitivity regulator by a quarter until the starter speed begins to decrease sharply.
  3. Turn off the regulator half a turn and let the engine idle.

If the 4th generation HBO setup with your own hands is done correctly, the internal combustion engine will work smoothly and stably.

The gas can be used on both gasoline and diesel engines. Gasoline engines will not surprise anyone, but diesel is a rather interesting design. It has a very high compression ratio, and a conventional gasoline engine would detonate. But for gas, everything is fine, because it has a high octane number, which means it easily ignites without detonation at a high compression ratio.

Another feature of such an engine is that the diesel engine has no sparks, and the gas must somehow ignite. We solved this problem by injecting a small amount of solarium. As a result, such an engine turns out to be dual-fuel - it runs on gas, but the ignition occurs due to the injection of diesel fuel.

Equipment classification

Gas types

Gas equipment differs in the type of gas used - it can be compressed methane gas in a cylinder under high pressure, and it can be liquefied propane / butane gas, which is in a liquid state in a cylinder. Gas becomes liquid when it reaches a certain pressure and is constantly in this state.

Equipment development

It is also customary to distinguish gas equipment by generations - from 1st to 6th. That's right, because gasoline supply systems have been constantly evolving all this time, from a simple carburetor to direct injection into the cylinder. Accordingly, gas for such engines must be injected in the same way so that the engine does not lose its characteristics.

When connecting gas equipment, it is important both to connect the gas itself and the gas supply control system.

Gas supply. HBO connection diagram.

This diagram shows the following components of LPG:

  1. Gas bottle
  2. Multivalve
  3. Filling device
  4. Gas reducer
  5. Filter
  6. Gas injectors on the ramp
  7. Gas control unit
  8. Gas / petrol switch

We install gas equipment.

Gas injectors are installed on the engine. The fittings are cut and screwed into the intake manifold, and gas pipes from the nozzles go to the fittings, through which a metered portion of gas flows. The ramp with gas injectors is usually mounted not far, 15-20 centimeters from the fittings, the injectors are located on the ramp. The train must be supplied with gas from the reducer, cleaned through a filter.

Gas from the reducer flows to the gas injectors, after the reducer the gas passes through the filter and is cleaned of impurities.

The reducer must be warmed up, because when a gas changes from a liquid to a gaseous state, it cools down, and the reducer will be covered with frost. Therefore, it is connected to the engine cooling system and the transition to gas is carried out only when the engine warms up to 30 degrees. This was before the 4th generation of LPG. In 5th generation LPG systems, gas enters in a liquid state, and the transition to a gaseous state occurs after the injection of the nozzle, therefore, heating of the reducer is not required and the engine can be started on gas.

LPG electronics wiring diagram

Now that the gas is connected, you need to connect the control electronics.

The main control unit here, of course, controls this entire system.

It receives an input signal from sensors and a signal about opening / closing of injectors.

The input signal comes from the following sensors:

  • Engine speed sensor (crankshaft sensor)
  • Oxygen sensor (λ probe)
  • Signal from petrol injectors
  • Reducer temperature sensor (helps you know when to switch to gas)
  • Gas / petrol switch
  • Fuel level sensor.

The gas itself turns on when the reducer warms up to a certain temperature, it cannot be forcibly turned on, if HBO of 4 generations or higher is used, you can only switch it to forced operation on gasoline, or to automatic mode, then the computer itself will choose which fuel to operate on. When the gas runs out, the system automatically switches to gasoline.

Gas, as you know, is cheaper than gasoline. Therefore, installing LPG equipment will significantly reduce your costs. Most of the cars that drive on the roads of the CIS belong to the VAZ brand. Therefore, those who have such a car brand will find this information useful and interesting. In this article, we will look at how you can connect LPG to your carburetor and which type is better to choose.

Which HBO is better to choose

Any HBO 1 or 2 generation is suitable for a car carburetor. Yes, at the moment there are already 3rd and 4th generations, but for this type of engine it will be useless. Since they differ from older models by the presence of electronics, and there are no corresponding sensors on the carburetor engine, and therefore it is not worth installing the latest models. They will automatically turn into 1-2 generations.

There are practically no differences between the first generation and second generation HBO. The gas hose is connected to the carburetor via spacer mixer or through the carburetor insert. Under the influence of vacuum in the intake manifold, the gas from the reducer enters the carburetor through the metering unit. The only difference is the gas dispenser.

In the first generation, the gas dispenser is manual, it is set to the desired position once and practically does not require adjustment. And in the second generation, the dispenser is electronic, with a valve that interacts with the engine depending on the readings of the oxygen sensor and the position of the carburetor throttle valve.

This second generation system does not quite fit classic cars. But from it you can easily make HBO of the 1st generation. To do this, it is enough to replace the electronic pipette with a mechanical one. For the carburetor, it will be the best option for the first generation HBO.

Do-it-yourself HBO installation: instruction

When installing HBO with our own hands, we will use the following sequence:

  • Mixer and valves installation;
  • Installation of the reducer and dispenser, control panel.

Read only on the website Do-it-yourself car upholstery

When we have determined the plan and sequence of work, you can proceed with the installation itself. So let's get started.

Cylinders are produced in two types: cylindrical and toroidal (popularly known as tablets). For cars with a classic layout, a cylindrical tank is best suited, since such cars have a large capacity. The best option would be to install the tank in the trunk, where there is a lot of free space.

For cars with a hatchback body, the trunk is located in the passenger compartment. Therefore, installing a cylindrical cylinder will not be the best option, it will take up a lot of space. Basically, these cars have a spare wheel niche. This is where the balloon should be placed, not cylindrical, but toroidal (tablet).

The cylinder must be securely fastened. Otherwise, when driving, it will roll and may damage the parts that are located on it. This can be done using a special stand and bolted metal strips.

After the cylinder is installed, it is necessary to remove the filling valve. Basically, the valve is mounted just below the rear bumper, securing it to the mounting plate. It is also possible to remove the valve on one of the rear fenders. But for this you have to drill a hole with the required diameter in the place you need.

After the cylinder has been installed, we are engaged in the installation of the gas pipeline. To do this, we drill a hole from the cylinder multivalve to the engine compartment. The gas pipeline should not run in the passenger compartment; it is better to run it along the bottom of the car.

It is better to drill a hole of a slightly larger diameter, insert a small piece of plastic pipe into it and secure it. This will provide additional ventilation for the multivalve.

We process anti-corrosion pipes inserted with mastic. Then you need to lay the gas pipeline itself. It must be well secured and located as far away from the moving parts of the vehicle as possible.

Installation of a mixer and LPG valves

Now it's time to look under the hood of the car and determine the location for the rest of the LPG parts.

Mixer installation

First, let's install the mixer. In carburetor engines, the mixer is the spacer between the carburetor and the intake manifold.

Between the three elements: the manifold, the mixer and the carburetor, gaskets must be present or you can use a sealant. The main thing is that during the operation of these elements, there is no air leak between them.

We install the gasoline valve. It must be installed on the side from which the fuel line is connected to the gas pump. Install the valve in the pipeline. We cut the pipeline and install the valve in the cut, then clamp it with clamps "iron".

It should be noted that the valve is not located in front of the fuel pump, but in the fuel line going from the fuel pump to the carburetor. Otherwise, when overlapping and supplying gasoline, the gasoline pump will not be able to supply gasoline to the carburetor.

And the last one will be the gas valve. If possible, it is best to install it further from the gasoline valve. A large distance between them will ensure you complete safety in the event of an accident. It must be fixed in an accessible place so that, if possible, it would be easy to get to it.

The gas pipeline is connected to the gas valve, which was previously laid from the cylinder to the engine compartment.

Mounting the reducer, dispenser and control panel

The next step is to install the gas reducer. It is best to install it near the carburetor. The gas pressure regulator should be installed vertically, since in a different position its diaphragm will not be able to fully provide the gas supply. The best option would be to connect the gearbox to the pipes that go to the stove.

To do this, you will need to cut into the inlet and outlet pipes of the stove using two tees. Moreover, the serial connection of the reducer to one of the nozzles can disrupt the operation of the system under certain conditions, therefore the inlet of the reducer cuts into the supply pipe of the stove, and the branch pipe of the outlet - into the outlet pipeline.
