Comparison of crossovers in the middle class - Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. Hyundai Santa Fe versus competitors: a big test of crossovers Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento which is better

In 2018, 7,484 Kia Sorento SUVs were sold, which is 40% more than in 2017. But his competitor worsened his statistics. Last year, 8,577 new Hyundai Santa Fe were purchased, and the year before last - 9,886, that is, sales decreased by 13%. Even with such multidirectional dynamics, the Santa Fe outpaced its rival by 1,093 cars in 2018. Will he be able to maintain his leadership in this pair at the end of the current year? Let's compare these two models and try to understand what fate awaits them in the near future.

Prices and configuration

Kia Sorento 2019 model year is offered to customers in four versions: "Classic", "Comfort", "Luxe" and "Prestige", and Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 - in five: "Family", "Lifestyle", "Premier", " High-Tech "and" Black & Brown ". The most affordable Sorento in the basic configuration "Classic", equipped with a 2.4-liter petrol engine (175 hp), 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive will cost you 1,789,900 rubles, and Santa Fe "Family" 2 , 4 (188 hp) 6АТ 4WD - 2 099 000 rubles, that is, 309 100 rubles more. Both SUVs for this price are well-equipped and already have heated front seats and power side mirrors, ESC, front / side airbags and curtain airbags, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and a six-speaker audio system. At the same time, Kia, unlike its competitor, is equipped with an electric folding side mirrors, and Hyundai is equipped with a heated steering wheel. However, against the background of such a significant difference in price, only the presence of an all-wheel drive and a more powerful motor can speak in favor of Santa Fe.

The above comparison is not entirely correct, because the Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 is equipped with all-wheel drive, and the rival is not. So let's fix this. But first, let's clarify that the all-wheel drive Kia Sorento 2019 can be equipped with a 6-speed "mechanics" or "automatic". Sorento with a 2.4-liter petrol engine (175 hp) and all-wheel drive in the Classic configuration costs 1,839,900 rubles with a 6-speed manual transmission and 1,889,900 rubles with a 6-speed automatic transmission. That is, all the same, Kia turns out to be cheaper than its competitor by 259,100 rubles. or 209,100 p. respectively. It is worth noting that Hyundai, unlike its counterpart, offers several additional option packages (which we will talk about a little later), but all of them are available in all trim levels except “Family”. Therefore, if we talk about the basic versions of Korean SUVs, then there is a total advantage on the side of Sorento due to the best price and variability of modifications.

If we figured out the initial trim levels, let's now take a closer look at the rest. All remaining versions are equipped with an exclusively automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The list of installed equipment of the following comparable trim levels "Luxe" and "Lifestyle" appears: heated rear seats, leather trim, rear view camera, rain sensor, keyless entry to the salon and start the engine with a button. The cost of the Kia Sorento 2.4 (175 hp) 6АТ 4WD "Luxe" is 2,024,900 rubles, and the Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4 (188 hp) 6АТ 4WD "Lifestyle" - 2,259,000 rubles, t .e. for 234,100 rubles. more expensive. It is worth saying that we deliberately skipped the version of Sorento "Comfort" for 1,944,900 rubles, because its list of options is shorter. But back to Santa Fe, which, unlike a competitor for this money, is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen display with the ability to integrate with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphones. In general, starting with Lifestyle, Hyundai is beginning to demonstrate its technological superiority over its rival thanks to the appearance of an additional Smart Sense package for 90,000 rubles. It includes such systems as: automatic braking in front of an obstacle, tracking the driver's condition, keeping the car in the lane, etc. The systems in this package are standard equipment on the High-Tech and Black & Brown trim levels. In general, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 continues to fall significantly in price, but it offers functionality that is not available in the Kia Sorento 2019.

I think it's time to compare the top versions of the models, skipping a couple of intermediate ones. The most expensive SUVs are equipped with diesel engines combined with a six-speed automatic transmission for the Sorento and eight for the Santa Fe. Thus, Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDi (197 hp) 6AT 4WD "Prestige" will cost customers 2,309,900 rubles, and Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 CRDi (200 hp) 8AT "Black & Brown" - in 2,949,000 rubles, i.e. for 639,100 rubles. more expensive! But this difference in price shouldn't surprise you. The further we get from the basic configurations, the greater the technological gap between the models became. The main functional advantages of the Black & Brown version include the projection of the instrument readings onto the windshield, the panoramic sunroof, the 8-inch display with navigation and, of course, the 7-seater saloon. By the way, the third row of seats is already available as an additional option from the Premier package for 50,000 rubles. And so that the difference of more than half a million rubles still does not shock you, let's say that in terms of equipment (ventilation of the front seats, power adjustment of the driver's seat, automatic parking system) Santa Fe 2.2 CRDi (200 hp) 8AT "Premier" for 2,599,000 rubles is in no way inferior to a competitor and has an advantage, for example, in the form of an electric tailgate with an automatic opening system.

Specifications

The length / width / height of the Kia Sorento 2019 is 4685/1885/1710 mm, and the dimensions of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 are 4770/1890/1680 mm. The wheelbase of Santa Fe is, of course, more - 2765 against 2700 mm from a competitor. The ground clearance is the same - 185 mm. But the Sorento's fuel tank is smaller - 64 versus 71 liters. The volume of the Hyundai luggage compartment with folded / unfolded rear seats of the rear rows is 2019/1036 liters for the 5-seater version and 2002/1016/328 liters for the 7-seater. For some reason, the size of the rival's trunk is not specified either on the official website of Kia or in the brochure for the model. But taking into account the size of the SUV, it is obviously smaller than that of a competitor.

Both models offer the buyer a choice of only two engines: gasoline and diesel. Petrol engines with a volume of 2.4 liters in the Kia Sorento 2019 and Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 with a capacity of 175 hp. and 188 hp, as well as with a torque of 225 Nm and 241 Nm, respectively. And the 2.2-liter diesels have the following characteristics Sorento vs Santa Fe: 197 hp. vs 200 hp and 436 Nm vs 440 Nm. In general, the performance of Hyundai is always slightly better than that of its counterpart. As for the transmissions, both SUVs have again only two versions. But Kia offers a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, while Hyundai offers a six- or eight-speed automatic.

Now let's take a look at the driving dynamics and fuel efficiency of these two rivals. To do this, let's compare comparable modifications of SUVs. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h (consumption in city / highway / mixed modes) for Kia Sorento vs Hyundai Santa Fe is: 2.4 (175 hp) 6AT 4WD vs 2.4 (188 hp). ) 6AT 4WD - 11.5 s (12.3 / 6.9 / 8.8 l) vs 10.4 s (12.6 / 7.3 / 9.3 l); 2.2 CRDi (197 hp) 6AT 4WD vs 2.2 CRDi (200 hp) 8AT 4WD - 9.9 (8.8 / 5.4 / 6.7 l) with vs 9.4 s (9.9 / 6.2 / 7.5), respectively. There was no sensation here. More powerful Hyundai engines demonstrate better dynamics and higher fuel consumption. This is why the Kia has a smaller fuel tank.

Summary

Kia Sorento 2019 and Hyundai Santa Fe 2019, despite the similar overall dimensions, are completely different SUVs in essence. Sorento offers a wide range of modifications with different combinations of engines, transmissions and drives. At the same time, the price of the model looks very attractive in comparison, which cannot be said about its competitor. But Santa Fe, in turn, provides its customers with the opportunity to equip the car with the most advanced technical systems, more powerful engines, as well as purchase a functional 7-seater version of the model. It is difficult to predict how much demand these SUVs will be in 2019, but in the first quarter of this year 3,598 Santa Fe were sold and almost 2 times less than Sorento - 1,611 vehicles. However, it should be said that the closest competitor to Santa Fe is still Kia Sorento Prime with the possibility of 7-seater accommodation and costing from 2,004,900 to 2,531,900 rubles. But this is already!

Santa Fe somehow didn’t come in right away: I absolutely liked the quality of workmanship and the approach to organizing the interior space, but the combination of an atmospheric engine with an “eco-friendly” six-speed automatic on the go could only please the 68-year-old grandfather of three grandchildren.

Sorento, all other things being equal, conquered: it did not become more dynamic than its brother, but the suspension settings, coupled with a lower price, have always been seen as a significant advantage. Maybe everything will be a little different with heavy fuel? We took both cars and drove off into the fields.

The contrast is striking. As with the ix35, the diesel crossover is not the same as the petrol one. Claims to the shaking of the suspension, to the unresponsive atmospheric engine, to which the machine, suffering from ecology, does not allow to spin up to acceptable revs, almost completely disappear. With a turbine, it is somehow faster and more elastic. And the suspension calibrations for a heavy diesel engine are different, so there is an elasticity and density of the chassis, inaccessible to Santa Fe with gasoline in its blood.

Diesel Sorento does not lag behind and does not overtake, keeps head to head. The 2.2-liter engine is traction and elastic, the transmission often falls into the desired gear due to a wider operating range. Vibrations and flutter of the heavy fuel engine are reduced to naught. And both of them.

Silence is the parameter with which both rival brothers conquer for good. If anyone else has a prejudice about heavy fuel engines, listen to the Sorento / Santa Fe. Even Koreans have now learned to make such cars quiet and smooth.

In terms of smooth gait, the Sorento is subjectively slightly ahead of the Santa. This difference will be noticeable on large potholes of hard, rocky primers. Where the Santa Fe runs rough, the Sorento is softer and more fluffy.

On the country roads dug by deep pits, it's hard for both: crossovers are not designed for off-road, the emphasis is still more on asphalt driving. Therefore, the suspensions are short-travel, and this short travel is chosen quite quickly. That is why I simply do not recommend driving in deep pits, and I strongly advise against hanging them diagonally: the wheels will very quickly come off the ground and no longer reach it. In such situations, a bunch of ESP with ABS helps out a little, which blocks the spinning wheel, and adds traction to those wheels that are in contact with the surface.

In terms of efficiency, both brakes are at about the same level, but the cars are upset in different ways. Santa Fe slows down steadily and evenly, Sorento nods harder.

The driver's position in both cases is not similar to the standard of convenience: the seat is designed for overly solid XXXL men. Hence that flat back, wide-spaced side bolsters, rather soft padding. Young and slender places here with an overabundance, bumpiness in the corners is provided.

The strongest differences between the rivals lie, in my opinion, not even in driving performance or appearance, but in the method of organizing the internal space and its design. Sorento tries to look like a thoroughbred European in everything: hence the highest quality plastic, and strict rows of function keys, and ubiquitous symmetry combined with straightforward logic.

There are no old-fashioned watches in Santa Fe. In general, he hints to everyone that he is a little hi-tech, contemporary and loves trends. The parking brake is activated by a button, the controls of the radio and climate are more intricate and fanciful than those of the strict Sorento, the illumination of the instrument scales is more playful and mannered.

And in terms of ergonomics, the Santa Fe seems to me to be more successful than the Sorento. The logic is simple: fewer buttons are better and easier. 9 buttons and 1 knob is more convenient than 12 buttons and 2 knobs. There is no need to produce essences where there is no need for it.

The rear sofa for both is of the highest category for crossovers: heating, a panoramic roof, optional curtains on the windows, a supply of air in all dimensions - it is difficult to think of something better for a company of three passengers.

If the interior spaces really care, then I strongly recommend abandoning the panoramic roof: the starry sky above us - the picture is certainly beautiful, but this window eats up the space reserve pretty much.

But in general, with the exception of a number of little things, both cars are equally friendly for passengers. And if you consider that both are seven-seater, and there is a shortage of full-fledged minivans on the market, then the Sorento and Santa Fe can quite act as an alternative to them. What to choose in the end is more a question of aesthetic taste and wallet: with a bunch of other things being equal, Sorento is a good hundred thousand cheaper. And I don't see any good reason to overpay this hundred for a Hyundai.

Outcomes:

Parameter Kia sorento Score Score
Ergonomics, driver's workplace Less design, but more buttons than the rival. The lion's share of them duplicates what is accessible from the screen of the media system 4 Laconic and with a claim to high-tech. For ease of use, this approach is a blessing. There are no pronounced failures in ergonomics 5
Salon transformation, passenger seats The roof from the head is higher than that of the Hyundai, which is visible to the naked eye. Heating is, alas, not a competitive advantage. But tall passengers are more comfortable here 5 A more sloping roof makes tall riders hostage to the crown design. The difference is at the level of millimeters, but there is 4
Dynamics "To the floor" go head to head. Passport advantage of 0.2 sec. in spurt up to 100 km / h, KIA has an ephemeral advantage. But there is 5 Unlike petrol versions, diesel "Santa" accelerates smoothly and without dips in a wide range of revolutions. Ave turbine! 4.8
Braking Nose pecks during braking are noticeable and unpleasant - they lubricate the passenger sensations from control 3 On a loose surface, the ABS turns on relatively early, releasing the wheels. The deceleration is generally effective, but the two-ton car wants a more confident and assertive deceleration. 4
Controllability For a passenger car, in fact, but an SUV in terms of size and weight, the handling is vatnenko. I would like more feedback from the steering wheel. And she's not there, whatever mode you set 3 The same claim: the steering wheel is on its own, the wheels somewhere below are on their own. Between them - emptiness, amorphous recoil 3
Smooth running As with the petrol versions, the Sorento is again ahead. It is less sensitive to large potholes. 5 Santa Fe with diesel is a different car! Gone are the shaking, rattling of short-travel suspensions for little things. Compared to itself, but gasoline - two steps forward. But the Sorento is more resilient 4
Auxiliary electronics The car parker works great: in the light of the lack of space, it is an irreplaceable thing. He shoves even into those gaps where he himself - no way! The interface of the media system is newer, more convenient, more beautiful and more responsive. For this extra point 5 Developers need to finalize the interface of the media system and the speed of response to pressing on the touch screen. KIA has gone ahead in terms of media 4

Those who closely follow the global auto market should have noticed that in the early 2000s, Asian companies began supplying crossovers that could successfully compete with European and American models. The South Korean concerns Hyundai and Kia especially distinguished themselves in this, which even began to fight for the championship among themselves. Today we will compare Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, mark their differences and find out which of the companies is more successful.

Hyundai Santa Fe is deservedly considered a legendary crossover. The model was named in honor of the American city of the same name, which once again confirmed the fact that the United States was to become the main market for the car. The crossover is built on the basis of its eminent predecessor - Hyundai Sonata, this very fact foreshadowed a successful career for the car.

Santa Fe was first introduced to the public in 2000. At the same time, serial production of the model began at the plant in Ulsan. Every year the crossover was restyled, which undoubtedly delighted the fans of the model. In 2006, as part of the Detroit auto show, the Santa Fe 2 debuted, the assembly of which was partially moved to Montgomery, Alabama.

In 2012, Santa Fe 3 was presented in New York. For the first time, developers presented a 7-seater version of the car's interior. At the end of 2013, Santa Fe was recognized as the safest in the segment.

Kia Sorento, another popular Korean crossover, named after the Italian resort town, debuted in 2002 in Chicago. By American and European standards, the debut version of the model was considered an SUV. And only the second-generation Sorento, presented in 2009, was recognized as a full-fledged crossover.

In 2013, the car underwent restyling, as a result of which it received an updated design and an improved engine line. In 2014, as part of the Paris Motor Show, the Sorento 3 was put on public display, which, in 2016, was recognized as the best in terms of safety.

Which is better to choose - Kia Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe? Due to the fact that the careers of both models proceeded approximately in the same direction, the most fair result should be a draw.

Appearance

It should be noted right away that the appearance of both cars is made in completely different stylistic directions. For example, in the exterior of Santa Fe, there are generally very few moments inherent in Asian crossovers. As noted by many experts, the model looks more European than even some German or French competitors.

Severity and progressiveness should be noted in the exterior of the car, which are perfectly combined with elements of sportiness. But Sorento, outwardly, is a typical crossover robotic, with a fairly simple and practical exterior.

The front of the Santa Fe is equipped with a wide windshield and a smooth drop-down hood. The front end of the opponent can offer the same structure of "lobe" and an elongated smooth hood. The nose of the cars has many things in common. First of all, it should be noted a similar layout of the false radiator grille, although each model has its own internal structure. Also, both Sorento and Santa Fe are equipped with high-positioned LED headlights, shaped like human eyes.

But as for the lower part of the bumper, a number of differences immediately catch the eye. Firstly, the Santa Fe air intake looks very compact and is edged with chrome elements, which contrasts strongly with the wide, monolithic element of the opponent. Secondly, both models have completely different fog lights. At Sorento, they are very neat and have a trapezoidal shape. And at Santa Fe - narrow, rather oblong and, moreover, trimmed with chrome.

From the side it is immediately noticeable that the Sorento is indeed longer than Santa Fe. However, for both cars, the usual moments for modern crossovers are inherent, such as a sloping roof, voluminous wheel arches. Serious differences can be observed only in the lower contour of the windows, which in Santa Fe is sharply directed upwards. This also includes the fact that Sorento's profile is smooth and smooth, while Santa Fe's is very voluminous and, moreover, longitudinal ribs are visible on it, enhancing the effect of the crossover's sportiness.

At the back there are no surprises at all. The feed of each of the cars has a familiar set of components and elements, which are assembled in a very similar style. Unless Santa Fe has a bigger back door.

Considering the above, I would like to give the advantage to the more progressive exterior of Santa Fe.

Salon

As well as externally, the inside of the cars is also very different. The interior of Santa Fe is made in a very simple, minimalist style with noticeable notes of futurism and progressiveness (here you can draw an analogy with the exterior). In turn, the interior decoration of Sorento goes a little beyond the usual framework for Korean cars, which is not to the liking of many fans of the company. For example, there is a certain accuracy and incompleteness of elements, which cannot be said about other models of the concern.

In order to understand everything, it is worth comparing only car dashboards. For Santa Fe, it is very compact, but at the same time very readable and informative. For Sorento, as mentioned above, the panel looks unfinished.

In terms of roominess, Sorento is the clear favorite here. But the quality of finishing work is higher for his opponent.

Obviously, the Hyundai Santa Fe salon deserves a victory at this point.

Specifications

Due to the fact that 2017 we were pleased with the release of the next modifications of cars, for comparison, we chose the variants of Santa Fe and Sorento with 2.2-liter diesel units. It is easy to guess that both crossovers are built on the basis of an all-wheel drive bogie. Among other common points, I would like to note the same transmission box - 6АКПП.

Now let's go a little deeper into the topic of powertrains. As mentioned above, both models are powered by 2L diesels, and it is not surprising that they produce the same power - 200 horsepower. Accordingly, the dynamics indicators are not very different. For example, the acceleration time from zero to hundred in Santa Fe is the same as in Sorento - 9.6 s. And this is taking into account the fact that Santa Fe is 58 kg heavier than its counterpart. However, due to the fact that the Sorento has more maximum torque, the Santa Fe is more economical - 7.7 liters on average, versus 7.8 liters for the opponent.

As for dimensions, the Sorento body is 80 mm longer than Santa Fe and 15 mm higher. A similar trend is observed in the size of the wheelbase - 2780 mm versus 2700 mm. But the clearance height for both crossovers is the same - 185 mm. Also note that each of the cars is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.

Price

Today in Russia the average cost of Santa Fe 2017 is 2,150,000 rubles. Over the years, you will have to pay 200 thousand rubles more. In terms of cost, of course, the first option is more attractive, but judging by the reviews - Sorento. Be that as it may, all the dots on the "e" will dot the test drive of cars.

Or ?

To compare the technical characteristics and driving characteristics of and, vehicles with approximately the same equipment, equipped with diesel engines, were used. the diesel version is more dynamic on the road than the petrol version. There are no complaints about the quality of the suspension and insufficient engine power. Since the diesel engine weighs more, the developers have changed the car's suspension, adding elasticity to it. When testing cars on the road, it is clear that the Sorento and Santa are on the same level. Even with diesel engines, cars run quietly and smoothly. Subjectively, the Sorento moves more smoothly. The difference is especially noticeable on large holes and dirt roads.

On country roads with deep pits, both the Sorento and Santa drive a bit hard. It is immediately noticeable that these off-road crossovers are not designed, but are more suitable for driving on asphalt. Car suspensions are short-travel and the course is selected quickly enough. These car models cannot cope with deep pits, so it is better not to drive them on a bad road. With the swamp, cars are helped by a bunch of ESP + ABS, which blocks the spinning wheel and adds traction to the wheels remaining in contact with the road surface. The Sorento and Santa have roughly the same braking performance. At the same time, Santa brakes evenly and stably, and Sorento noticeably "sniffs".

Landing in cars leaves much to be desired, since the seat is designed for respectable men. The seats have a flat back with widely spaced side bolsters and a fairly soft padding. There is plenty of room for slender drivers on such a seat, and there is not enough support when cornering. Sorento and Santa Fe differ most of all not in driving performance or appearance, but in the principle of organizing and decorating the interior space. The interior of the Sorento looks more like a European car, with high-quality plastic used in the finish. On the dashboard, you can see a symmetrical row of function keys, located logically and easily.

Salon Santa Fe is reminiscent of high-tech style. The handbrake of the car is activated using a button; radio and climate control are controlled more bizarrely; the illumination of the instrument scales attracts attention with its mannerism and playfulness. In ergonomics, Santa Fe outperforms Sorento, because it is easier to operate nine buttons and one knob than twelve buttons and two knobs.

The rear sofa in both cars is made according to the classic principle for crossovers. Heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, additional curtains on the windows and an air guidance system in all dimensions are enough to ensure the comfort of the rear passengers. Santa Fe's roof is a little bit blocked up, so taller passengers in the Sorento will be more comfortable. Except for a few little things, both cars are comfortable for front and rear passengers.

One of the most popular auto maker companies is the South Korean giant Hyundai Motors. For all its time, the concern has released a large number of different car models. Over the past two decades, the main focus has been on crossover production. Therefore, it is not surprising that Hyundai SUVs literally flooded the world market. The main reason for this was their reliability and relatively low cost.

In today's article we will try to compare Santa Fe and Tussan, and as a result we will be able to determine which is better Hyundai Santa Fe or Tussan.

The production of which started in 2000, is considered the first full-fledged crossover of the company. The car was named after the city of the same name in the United States, as it was originally planned that it would be sold only in the North American market. Journalists and analysts harshly criticized the debut version of the crossover for its indistinct appearance, but this did not prevent the model from becoming the bestseller in the United States. The main feature of the Santa Fe lineup is that the car has been restyled every year.

In 2006, the second generation SUV was introduced. In its design, a new body module was used, which made it possible to position the model as a mid-size crossover, and not as compact as before. In 2012, the third generation Santa Fe made its debut. The developers have offered two options for the salon - 5 and 7-seater.

Debuted in 2004, by analogy with its competitor, it was also named after an American town located in the state of Arizona. The audience did not immediately accept the novelty, which affected the low level of sales. In 2009, the second generation car was presented, which is now renamed ix35.

In the spring of 2015, at the Geneva Motor Show, the third generation Tussan was presented to the public. It should be noted that the car is one of the three most popular crossovers in Russia.

Since Santa Fe boasts a lot of modifications, let's give him the advantage in this aspect.

Appearance

The debut version of Santa Fe, as mentioned above, received a lot of negative criticism for its appearance. Experts and critics were surprised by the fact that using a modular platform, the developers managed to design the exterior so ridiculously. Fortunately, in subsequent restyling, a number of shortcomings were corrected, and the second generation model appeared before motorists in a completely new guise.

The third generation of Santa Fe received an even more modernized exterior, which became much more dynamic and aggressive, but at the same time the designers managed to preserve the main features of the lineup.

Sometimes it seems that Korean developers deliberately make the first modification of their crossovers unattractive in order to fix it in subsequent versions. Because Tussan has exactly the same situation. The car, built on the basis of the Sportage, did not receive the most stylish exterior, and few people believed in a good future for the model. But after the release of the second generation Tussan in 2009 with a completely updated appearance, the number of optimistic motorists increased.

Today, Tussan is considered one of the most stylish in the class. As the developers themselves note, the main secret of such success is the application of the design concept "liquid sculpture".

Due to the fact that both models have passed a very similar path of formation of their exterior, we will award a draw at this point, and this will become the most logical result of the confrontation.

Salon

It is very difficult to compare the interiors of Tucson and Santa Fe cars, which are representatives of the same company. This is especially true of the Korean concern Hyundai, whose developers use the same stylistic concepts in the interior design of models. In order not to go far, it is enough to look inside the latest car modifications.

It is noticeable that the dashboard, and especially its upper part, is decorated in exactly the same way, the same can be said about the layout of the steering wheel. However, for the interior of Santa Fe, premium materials are used. This does not mean at all that the Tussan interior is made poorly, just the quality of the materials is slightly inferior. It is worth noting that both cars are roomy enough, but Santa Fe also boasts a 7-seater version, which is undoubtedly a big plus for a crossover.

Proceeding from the fact that the interior of Santa Fe is finished with more expensive materials and has a 7-seater modification, we will give preference to this particular car.

Specifications

The main advantage of Santa Fe has always been heavy-duty power units. The debut version was equipped with gasoline engines with a volume of 2.7 and 3.5 liters, as well as a two-liter diesel engine. In subsequent modifications, 2.2 and 2.4-liter engines also appeared, and the older gas engine was replaced with a 3.3-liter one.

The Tussan engine line has every reason to be complex, in the case of such a comparison. The developers took as a basis a two-liter diesel engine, a similar gasoline engine, as well as another 2.7-liter unit, and equipped them with all modifications of the crossover. By the way, the senior gasoline unit was no longer used in the latest generation model.
