Dimensions of Mitsubishi Outlander. Mitsubishi Outlander: technical specifications. Tough but confident

The XL prefix in the name of the second generation Mitsubishi Outlander emphasizes that this car is larger than its predecessor. Five years of experience in operating the machine in Ukraine will allow you to evaluate how correct the “new size” turned out.

Mitsubishi Outlander XL (2007-2012 model year) from $17,300 to $33,000

Even externally, the Mitsubishi Outlander XL looks larger than its predecessor, and the aggressive cut of the front and rear optics gives its image more dynamism. Almost all models were imported to Ukraine official dealers brands.

These cars are 5-seater, and rarely seen European versions could be 7-seater (a third row of seats is installed in the trunk). At the end of 2010, a restyling was carried out: changes affected the front part, made in the spirit of the Lancer X.

As operating experience has shown, there are no complaints about the corrosion resistance of the Outlander XL. The condition of the body parts does not cause them either. The peculiarity of the rear windshield wiper is the individual design of the “brush”, which is why it is impossible to choose a non-original one (a branded part costs about 300 UAH).

Minced meat and space

Many Outlander XLs are very well equipped. The interior looks modern, and the sportiness is given by two instrument panels facing the driver, a three-spoke steering wheel and decorative inserts on the dashboard, door cards and steering wheel, painted in silver. The interior is comfortable even for tall people, and the sliding design of the rear split seats (they move backwards/forwards on a slide) will help adjust the amount of legroom for gallery passengers. Promotes a comfortable fit and adjustable backrests rear seats. At the same time, some owners complain about a knocking sound in the front passenger seat (when there is no person in it), which is eliminated by adding lubricant.

The predecessor was often criticized for its small trunk. The creators of the Outlander XL took this into account and, due to the increased overall dimensions of the model, allocated much more space for cargo - 774/1691 liters versus 420/1100 liters Outlander first generations. Moreover, to make folding the rear seats easier, they were equipped with a special mechanism that automatically throws the seats forward when you press the corresponding lever.

Only petrol

Officially, only petrol modifications of the Outlander XL were supplied to us. All power units are equipped with the proprietary MIVEC variable valve timing system, individual coils and spark plugs with iridium electrode tips. Experts note that it is undesirable to operate these units on gas, since the MIVEC system is not friendly with it - there have been cases of burnout of the intake and exhaust valve seats.

The 3.0-liter unit is demanding on fuel quality. Due to application bad gasoline Catalysts are the first to suffer. Moreover, this engine has three of them: two front and one rear (1 original - about 10 thousand UAH). You cannot simply remove unusable catalysts - the ECU cannot be “deceived” by installing lambda probe simulators. The top-end engine is perfect for active driving - it confidently accelerates a more than one and a half ton car to the first “hundred” in 9.7 seconds. True, the car owner will have to pay for this with considerable fuel consumption - about 14 liters per 100 km in the urban cycle.

Among the malfunctions of the 2.4-liter unit, we note the loss of tightness front oil seal crankshaft Any other characteristic problems in Mitsubishi units Outlander XL was not detected during operation.

The timing belt of the 3.0-liter engine is equipped with a belt that must be changed along with the rollers every 80 thousand km. All other engines use a durable metal chain that lasts the entire service life of the unit. A feature of the fuel system that increases the cost of servicing all engines is that the filter fine cleaning fuel is made together with a submersible flask, so it is not cheap ( original spare part will cost 1700 UAH). According to factory recommendations, the filter should be changed every 60 thousand km. The “pump” will last about 150 thousand km.

Weak points of the car

Do not heat!

On the Outlander XL, different types of gearboxes were used depending on engine size. “Mechanics” and a continuously variable CVT were coupled with 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter engines, and the top 3.0 liter was only available with a classic torque converter “automatic”.

As a rule, “mechanics” and “automatics” serve without problems. You just need to change the lubricant in a timely manner - every 40-45 thousand km in the manual transmission and after 40 thousand km in the automatic transmission. However, the variator can disturb - in extreme heat during long driving high speeds the oil in it overheats, which will be indicated by a warning light on the instrument panel. IN in this case You must stop immediately, and you can continue driving only after the lubricant has cooled. The lubricant change interval in the variator is every 80 thousand km.

The main difference between the all-wheel drive transmission of this car is the ability to operate only on front-wheel drive (in its predecessor, all-wheel drive was always engaged automatically when the front wheels slipped). The Outlander XL has three modes: 2WD (front-wheel drive only), 4WD (all-wheel drive is automatically connected using the center wheel). electromagnetic coupling, capable of changing the distribution of torque along the axles from 85:15 to 40:60 depending on the adhesion of the wheels to the road) and Lock (the clutch is rigidly locked). By the way, the cheapest 2.0-liter versions with manual transmission are single-wheel drive, although such cars are very rare. Multi-Select 4WD all-wheel drive works in conjunction with MASC dynamic stability control and MATC traction control systems, which simulate inter-wheel locks off-road and also contribute to better vehicle stability when driving on slippery roads and actively cornering.

During operation, problems with all-wheel drive operation Outlander transmissions XL not identified.

Tough but confident

Compared to its predecessor, the Outlander XL suspension has become stiffer, but thanks to these settings, you can drive this car dynamically with more confidence. Although the chassis is structurally similar: in front is an independent McPherson, in the rear is a multi-link. Both axles are equipped with anti-roll bars.

In general, the suspensions are durable, and most often you will have to change the stabilizer bushings (40 thousand km of the front and 60 thousand km of the rear). The racks last much longer - about 150 thousand km, ball joints front levers - approximately 200 thousand km (branded ones are supplied along with the lever), and silent blocks, which are changed separately, - 120 thousand km (front) and 150 thousand km (rear). In the rear “multi-link”, the lower silent blocks of the transverse arms serve the least (about 100 thousand km). The “rubber bands” of the remaining levers “hold” for 150-200 thousand km. During operation, you should check and adjust the installation angles of not only the front ones, but also rear wheels. Otherwise, after 60 thousand km, the bolts of the eccentric bushings of the rear camber arms “boil”, as a result of which, if adjustment is necessary, they have to be cut off with a grinder and new levers installed. Based on operating experience, the front shock absorbers last less than the rear ones, and most often the front left one becomes unusable by 100 thousand km.

Rack and pinion steering Outlander control XL is equipped with hydraulic booster. The weak point of this unit is the hoses, which after 100 thousand km sometimes begin to “sweat” at the junction of the rubber parts and aluminum tips. Steering ends do not last long (60-70 thousand km) on our roads, but the rods can withstand about 150 thousand km.

The Outlander XL brake system must be regularly maintained: at each maintenance, lubricate the caliper guides, otherwise they may jam, which causes uneven wear of the pads.

Worth trying...

The XL size of the second generation Outlander was liked by many Ukrainian buyers, and time has shown that this car is generally practical, comfortable and, very importantly, quite reliable. If all operating rules are followed, it rarely creates problems for its owners, so it is highly recommended for purchase on the secondary market.

Driver - about Mitsubishi Outlander XL

Previously I drove a Mitsubishi Space Star. However, the constant problem was that access to my dacha was difficult, so it became necessary to buy a car with all-wheel drive and better cross-country ability. I considered the Mitsubishi Outlander XL as candidates, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai. Outlander XL is the largest in size, and with my build, it is the most comfortable for me. And the price was the most attractive. Like good equipment and the functionality of the car: the trunk is very roomy, and I often carry various loads in it, the folding design of the trunk lid is convenient in nature - you can sit on the bottom one, and the top one, like a roof, protects from rain. Thanks to the sliding rear seats, even tall people can easily fit in the cabin, and good maneuverability Always helps out when traveling to the countryside or into nature. True, I often got stuck, and the road tires of my car played a significant role in this. During operation, I only replaced the steering tips and sharpened brake discs(they were driven by the temperature difference). There were no other problems with the car, and I have no plans to sell it in the near future.

The Toyota RAV4 costs more than the Outlander XL. The RAV4 is offered in two versions with a standard and long wheelbase. The most common versions are with 2.0 and 2.4 liter petrol engines, automatic transmission and CVT. All-wheel drive RAV4 connectable: rear axle activated by an interaxle electromagnetic clutch when the front wheels slip. The functions of cross-wheel “diffs” are simulated electronically. Unlike Outlander XL and X-Trail transmission does not provide for the possibility of driving only on front-wheel drive.

Most often under Nissan hood X-Trail is equipped with 2.0 and 2.5 liter petrol engines with automatic transmission. Thanks to high ground clearance and soft, energy-intensive suspension Nissan model Most suitable for driving off asphalt roads. Nissan's all-wheel drive is also connectable: it is possible to drive only in front-wheel drive, in automatic mode, when the inter-axle electromagnetic clutch engages the rear wheels when the front wheels slip, and also with a rigidly locked clutch.

The technical characteristics of the Mitsubishi Outlander are determined by three options for the power plants used. Two petrol “fours” of 2.0 and 2.4 liters produce 146 and 167 hp. respectively. On the top motor line houses a 3.0-liter V6 engine designed for Mitsubishi versions Outlander Sport. He develops maximum power 230 hp and generates a torque of 292 Nm (at 3750 rpm).

The top modification of Outlander involves installation in pairs with power unit 6-speed automatic transmission transmission Other versions of the crossover are equipped with an eighth-generation Jatco CVT with a torque converter. V6 tandem 230 hp and 6 automatic transmission provides the sports version of Outlander good dynamics– the car accelerates to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The crossover variant, which hides either of a pair of 4-cylinder units under the hood, cannot boast of such agility, spending more than 10 seconds on the dash to “hundreds”.

The average fuel consumption of the Mitsubishi Outlander varies from 7.3 to 8.9 liters. The most “insatiable”, of course, is the 3.0-liter “six”, according to the passport data, consuming about 12.2 liters of fuel in the urban cycle.

The geometric parameters of the car body are interesting primarily due to the equality of the approach and departure angles, each of which does not exceed 21 degrees. The angle of the ramp has the same meaning. The ground clearance (clearance) of the Mitsubishi Outlander is 215 mm.

The Japanese crossover is available in front- and all-wheel drive versions. Front-wheel drive is provided only for versions with the “younger” 2.0-liter engine. All-wheel drive has two possible configurations: All Wheel Control (AWC) and Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC). The second option, which adds stability in high-speed corners and on slippery surfaces, was developed specifically for the Outlander Sport 3.0.

Mitsubishi Outlander all-wheel drive system

All Wheel Control (AWC) is a front-wheel drive configuration that engages the rear axle using an electronically controlled electromagnetic clutch. Up to 50% of the thrust can be directed rearward. There are three operating modes of the AWC drive – ECO, Auto and Lock. In economy mode, all torque is transferred to the front axle by default, and the rear axle is used only when slipping. Auto mode distributes force optimally based on the received electronic unit data (wheel speed, accelerator pedal position). Blocking mode increases the amount of transmission per rear wheels of torque, which guarantees confident acceleration and more stable behavior on unstable surfaces. The main difference between Lock and Auto is that the rear wheels initially receive more traction regardless of whether slip is detected or not.

Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) is an advanced variation of the conventional AWC, in which an active differential (AFD) is installed on the front axle, distributing the force between the wheels. Thus, an additional mechanism for monitoring the behavior of the car appears. The S-AWC involves the stabilization system, ABS, electric power steering and brake system. Yes, the control unit Super system All Wheel Control can, under certain conditions, initiate wheel braking, for example, in the event of drift when cornering.

Selector for selecting the full operating mode S-AWC drive has four positions: Eco, Normal, Snow and Lock. The “Snow” mode optimizes the system settings for driving on slippery surfaces.

It is no secret that the dimensions of a car body are one of the most significant indicators when choosing a vehicle. Previously, it was believed that the larger the dimensions, the more difficult it is to drive a car on the road, especially if it is used in urban conditions. Now, even if the car is large, thanks to the latest developments in the industry, this may not affect the quality and ease of operation at all. But in large urban crossovers, the driver and passengers feel more protected, and the appearance of the vehicle can be confidently called presentable and impressive.

This article will talk about what Mitsubishi has Outlander sizes depending on the generation. A comparative analysis will also be carried out in order to determine what changes were made to the appearance of the car and its technical characteristics during the development of the model. The dimensions of the Outlander are traditionally measured using three parameters - taking into account the length, width and height of the body. It must be remembered that when calculating the height, in order to find out the mitsubishi outlander dimensions, you need to take the distance from the ground to the most extreme point of the body, but you should not pay attention to the roof rails. All generations of Outlander have different dimensions, as well as different vehicle weights - the minimum is 1415 kg, and the maximum is 1900 kg.

Dimensions of 1st generation cars

The Mitsubishi Outlander first went on sale in 2003 in Europe and the United States of America. At that time, a similar model had been actively sold on the Japanese market for more than two years, only it had a different name - Mitsubishi Airtrack. Buyers were offered vehicles with gasoline power plants, and 2004 was marked by the fact that the manufacturer released a version with a turbo engine, which allowed the car to accelerate to 202 hp. With.

The first generation was relatively small in size, if we compare it with other generations that appeared much later. Of course, engineers actively worked to ensure that, by increasing the dimensions of the Mitsubishi Outlander, they provided additional spaciousness and comfort to passengers in the cabin. You can see the characteristics in the table below:

Second generation with XL prefix

The first generation was sold until the beginning of 2006, despite the fact that the manufacturer had announced the release of a new and improved car a year earlier. The production of the second generation was carried out by production facilities in Japan, but already in 2010 it took over production Russian plant in Kaluga, which fully provided the assembly of machines for domestic market. The second generation was larger in size, received the XL prefix and was offered to customers in several modifications.

At first glance at the car, it becomes clear that it has become much larger than its predecessor in length and width. In addition, the shape of the body has changed somewhat, resulting in improved aerodynamic characteristics.

External dimensions (II generation)

Internal dimensions (II generation)

It was this car that became the best-selling of the company’s entire model range, because, despite the increase in size, it was easy to drive and had good road stability, regardless of the quality of the surface and weather conditions.

Third generation in a new body

The third generation seems to have virtually nothing in common with its predecessors. The body size has become an order of magnitude larger, even when compared with the Outlander XL. The manufacturer increased the length by 25 millimeters and made the car squat by 40 millimeters. You can find information online that the vehicle is offered in two versions – with five and seven seats. However, in Russia, you can only find a five-seater Mitsubishi Outlander. This is largely due to the negligible demand for such modifications among our compatriots (due to the fact that five-seater SUVs already cope well with their assigned functions). Thanks to the fact that engineers carefully refined the geometry of the internal space, the model has become much more comfortable and the amount of free space has increased.

In addition, the volume has also changed luggage compartment. The third generation of the car can accommodate up to 1740 liters. cargo is required, which allows us to conclude that the vehicle is adapted for long trips outside the city and traveling long distances. Changes in body height are largely explained by the urgent need to improve aerodynamic performance. The specialists did a great job, because in the 2012 SUV they managed to reduce the drag coefficient by a record seven percent, from 0.36 to 0.33. This contributed to a reduction in fuel consumption compared to its predecessor XL by more than 10%.

Dimensions:

  • Car length (III generation) – 4655 millimeters (15 millimeters more);
  • The body width is the same, 1800 millimeters;
  • The height of the vehicle decreased by 40 millimeters and amounted to 1,680 millimeters;
  • Ground clearance – 215 millimeters.

Drawing conclusions

With each generation of Mitsubishi Outlander, the size of vehicles became larger. The largest representative of the line is the improved third generation car, released in 2012. It is offered to customers in five- and seven-seat versions, has very good aerodynamic performance and looks presentable.

History of Mitsubishi Outlander / Mitsubishi Outlander

The Outlander prototype was a concept Mitsubishi ASX, the European show of which took place in 2001 at the Geneva Salon. Soon, having become a serial product, the car entered the Japanese market under the name Airtrek. The European debut took place in 2003 at the Geneva Motor Show. Outlander translated from English means “stranger”, “foreigner”. The car was designed to take a strong position in the dynamically growing crossover segment.

Outlander is the optimal vehicle for a resident of a modern big city, as it allows you to maintain mobility and safety regardless of road conditions and weather conditions.

A unique combination of elegant style and sporty motifs. Futuristic rear combination lamps, tubular roof rails and a rear spoiler with integrated brake light add sporty features to the Outlander's design. The bright aggressive front end harmoniously combines with the elongated, rapid shape of the body and transparent rear lights. All together these elements form a single image of a high-speed car.

The car has a lot in common with the Mitsubishi Lancer Еvolution, from which it borrowed the design of the suspension and permanent all-wheel drive, which includes a symmetrical center differential with locking using a viscous coupling.

The transmission gives the car special advantages. The viscous coupling allows you to vary the distribution of torque between the axles, which improves cross-country ability and active safety on the road. slippery roads.

The use of a McPherson-type suspension at the front in combination with a multi-link at the rear made it possible to achieve almost “passenger-like” handling characteristics and high stability in behavior at high speeds, despite the fairly high ground clearance.

There are configurations with a 2-liter 136-horsepower or 2.4-liter 160-horsepower engine. The 2.4-liter engine is equipped with a proprietary electronic system changes in valve timing and valve lift MIVEC (Mitsubishi Valve timing and lift Electronic Control system), which provides a combination of high torque over a wide speed range and high efficiency. On models with a 2.4 MIVEC engine, a 5-speed gearbox is installed manual transmission gears or the well-proven sequential adaptive “automatic” INVECS-IISports Mode.

Outlander has a very strong and rigid body, created according to Mitsubishi technology RISE, and equipped with the most advanced systems active safety, helping to prevent an accident, such as: Full Time 4WD (permanent all-wheel drive), providing better control traction and high directional stability on slippery roads, anti-lock braking system brakes (ABS), integrated with electronic distribution system braking forces(EBD). But if an accident does occur, then a powerful body safety cage made of high-strength steel will provide protection for passengers.

High level passive safety This is also achieved through airbags and 3-point seat belts, as well as head restraints for the driver and all passengers. For the safety of the youngest passengers, the Outlander features locking rear door locks, as well as ISO-FIX mountings for child seat, which allow you to be calm about your children on the go.

The Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is the optimal car for a resident of a modern, big city. It has excellent handling, cross-country ability and, thanks to its high seating position, good forward visibility, and also provides increased comfort and plenty of space for driver and passengers.

The second generation model was released in 2006 and received the XL prefix, which clearly indicated the increased dimensions of the car.

The third generation was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012. This generation lost the XL console. Externally, the car has changed radically. There is no trace left of the Jet Fighter style that adorned the XL. In company Mitsubishi Motors They talk about the implementation of the “three C” concept in the Outlander design. SSS (Solid, Safe, Simple) – solid, safe and simple. The exterior acquired simple, clear forms, clear lines, laconic surfaces, soft and flexible outlines. According to the developers, the car has become more courageous and brutal. The front part (especially the false radiator grille) has something in common with its older brothers Pajero Sport and Pajero Wagon. Outlander 2012 retained the dimensions of its predecessor, becoming only 1 cm shorter in length (4655 mm).

The 2012 Outlander is now officially an SUV. The car went through the so-called homologation process, improving geometric characteristics and receiving the honorary status of “All-terrain vehicle category M1G”. Now the departure and approach angles, as well as the ramp angle (the angle of entry into an obstacle) meet “all-passing standards”. Ground clearance is 215 mm.

Inside, the third-generation Mitsubishi Outlander crossover has become more mature and of better quality. The interior of the cabin turned out to be discreet and cozy with thoughtful ergonomics. Sound insulation has been noticeably improved and vibrations have been reduced. The front dashboard has acquired a more massive shape, and a touch screen. Screen dashboard became bigger. The screen resolution has also improved - 800x480 dpi versus the former 480x234 dpi. The steering wheel replaced the hydraulic booster with an electric booster, its weight decreased by 300 grams, which made driving more comfortable. Adjustment is now both for reach and height. The interior design can be two-tone. The front seats have a wide range of adjustments, an acceptable shape and good lateral support. With the same wheelbase dimensions, there is a noticeable increase in space in the second row, the seats are adjustable longitudinally and the backrest changes its angle. As an option, the 3rd generation Mitsubishi Outlander can have a third full row of seats, which can easily be folded to form a flat platform. Leather trim is available for an extra charge.

Among the usual necessities that make life easier for the driver and passengers, dual-zone climate control, new headlights with Super-HiD “Wide Vision” xenon, active cruise control, lane control system, heated seats, steering wheel and mirrors, and a start-stop system are available. The list of safety features included an airbag protecting the driver’s knees, and “curtains” for rear passengers also appeared. In addition, the car received an electric trunk lid. By the way, the rear door, consisting of two parts, has now given way to the usual whole trunk lid.

The mechanical “internals” have undergone minimal changes. The car is offered with the same 2.0 (150 hp) and 2.4 liter (170 hp) engines and a 2.2 liter diesel engine. (150 hp) with a low compression ratio of 14.9:1. The gearbox is a new INVECS III CVT. Elementary gasoline engine will only be available on single-wheel drive versions of the Outlander; more powerful engines work with all-wheel drive.

By using lightweight, high-strength materials, Mitsubishi engineers managed to reduce the weight of the new car. In addition to this, by improving aerodynamics and refining the engines, it was possible to increase the maximum speed, improve acceleration to 100 km/h and reduce fuel consumption by 10%. For example, the all-wheel drive Outlander 2.4 consumes 8.1 liters. per 100 km. instead of 9 l (in a mixed cycle).

The manufacturer said that a hybrid will also see the light Outlander version, where the gasoline engine is 2.0 liters. (94 hp) will be paired with two electric motors with 80 hp each. every. Interestingly, the batteries can be charged from a regular household network. The Outlander Hybrid will be able to travel 50 kilometers using electric motors alone.

As before, the Outlander is more focused on light off-roading than on steep off-road sections. Don't forget that even in 4WD mode mechanical interlocks There are no differentials and everything is controlled electronically.

The updated Mitsubishi Outlander debuted at the 2015 New York Auto Show. In Russia, sales of the restyled version started on April 6, production was established at the PSMA plant in Kaluga.

The design of the front of the car has been almost completely changed. Due to the new bumper, a different false radiator grille and headlights, the blocks of which now, regardless of the version, have LED running lights, and on top variants there is also a low beam assembled from LED elements. The linings on the lower parts of the doors are not only a protective element, but also a design one: they “unloaded” the silhouette of the crossover, because previously there was quite a lot on the sides free space. Rear is also new led lights, slightly modified trunk lid and new bumper. Plus, for the crossover they have prepared a line of new rims. In short, Outlander 2016 model year received a more aggressive and rapid exterior design.

Due to the new bumpers, the crossover is slightly longer and wider than the pre-reform car. The overall length of the Outlander 2016 is 4,693 mm (+ 38), width – 1,811 (+ 11), but the height (1,680) and wheelbase size (2,670) remain the same.

There are few changes in the interior. Only new things have appeared in the interior steering wheel with a lacquered trim in the lower part, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, the finishing materials have become a little better, new decorative elements have appeared, the visor above the instruments is now trimmed in leather, and on versions without a sunroof there is an eyeglass case on the ceiling. At the bottom left of the front panel there is a heating button windshield, it is now available in the database.

Outlander has become quieter: sound insulation has improved in 27 points. Replaced door seals, improved insulation engine compartment, installed a thicker windshield and rear glass. Additionally, special dynamic dampers are used on the transmission units and rear subframe: with them, vibrations and engine sound are felt less when adding and releasing gas.

In terms of technology, it is important to note the retuned suspension and steering, which, coupled with increased body rigidity, ensured improved handling.

The engines for the car remained the same - this gasoline units volumes of 2.0 (146 hp) and 2.4 (167 hp) liters, as well as a 230-horsepower V6 of 3.0 liters. The top variant is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the other two are equipped with Jatco's eighth-generation continuously variable transmission, the new oil pump of which requires less energy and the oil has a lower viscosity index. As a result, friction losses are reduced by 40%.

With the new CVT, the crossover has improved dynamics and reduced fuel consumption. So the 2.4-liter engine accelerates the car to the test mark in 10.2 seconds, which is three tenths faster than the pre-restyling version. The basic 2-liter Bert "one hundred" in 11.1 and 11.7 in the 4WD version (the previous achievement was 11.5 and 12.0 seconds). The “maximum speed” for both engines increased from 195 to 198 and from 190 to 193 (185 and 188 for a car with all-wheel drive) kilometers per hour, respectively.

It was possible to increase the dynamics and somewhat moderate the “appetite” thanks to the use of lightweight high-strength steels in the Outlander design. The car got rid of almost a hundredweight excess weight. Even the rims have become lighter: 18-inch ones have lost 1.6 kg, and 16-inch ones have lost 1 kilogram.

The base 2016 Outlander is offered with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while all others come exclusively with 4WD.

In the three years since the third generation Outlander entered the market, this update is the most extensive. And it turned out to be so successful that the all-terrain vehicle will not need any changes for another two or three years.
