A lot of flattering words have been said about the energy intensity of the "Logan" suspension. The chassis swallows small irregularities and bumps without noticing, and in deep holes only slightly shaking the riders. True, the abuse of the omnivorous suspension directly affects its durability - by the way, it does not differ in excessive vitality anyway. For example, stabilizer struts and bushings can last an average of 20,000 km, although they are inexpensive. In fact, the difference between the cars is not that great. It certainly is, and we will discuss it every time the need arises, but it is not as significant as in the case of two really different generations of the model. In this case, Logan was "new" only in terms of design, several new functions and marketing - after all, the platform did not change, which means, strictly speaking, there was no generational change. And if this statement can be argued in the comments, citing a dozen more fair examples when the car was called "new", having received only a body restyling, then with the fact that driving habits and the lion's share of both Logan's strong and weak points remained the same, arguing, alas, is pointless.

Logan's weak paintwork has been noted by many owners, and indeed, chipping in the front of the bonnet appears on new sedans with a disappointing speed. Hate # 3: expensive bodywork

This reason for hatred has only the fourth line in our rating, because only those who had the misfortune to get into an accident and get repaired at their own expense faced it. In addition, prices for original body parts look impressive only in comparison with domestic brands. One of them is short gears, designed to provide passable dynamics with engines with not the most outstanding characteristics, as well as, again, cross-country ability, if we mean the ultra-short first. In practice, this often results in the fact that the driver is often forced to use the "agitator" during acceleration, and to get under way completely from second gear. On the fifth, Logan (especially with an 8-valve engine) is desperately roaring with an engine already at 110 km / h. But someone sees an advantage in this character as well - the method “turn on the third and drive like on a machine” is used quite often in the city. Here, of course, the merit not only of the box, but also of the motors. However, about them a little later ...

Love # 3: good suspension

First of all, let's debunk the myth: Logan's suspension is not "indestructible" at all. If desired and the necessary degree of disregard for her and road conditions, she is killed with a bang, and the list of victims is usually the same as for the rest, normally "killed" suspensions of other brands: stabilizer struts, ball joints (change with the levers), shock absorbers ... The suspension is certainly reliable, but definitely not eternal. And its good reputation was created by the driving characteristics - the energy intensity is high, which creates a feeling of permissiveness on not too good surfaces. In the restyled Logan, the suspension has become a little stiffer, which some owners complain about, but it has not lost its positive qualities, and the rolls in corners have become noticeably less.


Hate # 2. Weak 8-valve engine

The situation with motors has also changed. Firstly, at the start of the "new generation", there was a rejection of the "youngest" engine - a 1.4-liter 75-horsepower. The remaining 1.6-liter engines, although generally satisfied the majority of users, could not please with special dynamics - the dynamic indicators were 11.9 and 10.7 seconds to one hundred, respectively, for the 8- and 16-valve in combination with the manual gearbox; the first engine developed 82 hp, the second - 102 hp. And therefore, for those who want more, the "older" engine with the K4M index was replaced by the 113-horsepower H4MK, familiar from Renault Duster and Kaptur, Nissan Sentra and Juke. At the same time, the 102-horsepower engine also remained in the lineup - it is combined with a 4-band automatic transmission, which makes Logan a rather gluttonous, albeit somewhat more convenient car. But those who choose the 8-valve version, as before, remain dissatisfied with the dynamics of the car. The manufacturer's desire to fit this well-deserved unit into modern environmental standards turns into obvious disadvantages - or rather, noise instead of overclocking. Perhaps it is time for him to rest.

Love # 2: large trunk volume

Few can surpass Logan in terms of trunk volume - it has 510 liters, and only the Ravon R4 (aka Chevrolet Cobalt) has more. In the early years of the Togliatti assembly, the accuracy of the fit of the body elements floated a lot. Renault Logan of the second generation reached our market a couple of years later than the European one. It took a lot of time to localize production at AVTOVAZ. Unlike the cars of the first generation, the Sandero hatchback appeared simultaneously with the sedan, and a little later its cross-version also appeared on the conveyor.

During the presence of the model in Russia, the manufacturer revised its modifications several times, reshuffling motors and gearboxes. This year, the sedan and hatchback were restyled, and the Logan Stepway also appeared, for which even a variator became available. Apparently, in this way, Renault wants to return some of the customers who were lured away by competitors (Volkswagen and Hyundai / Kia) thanks to a more thought-out policy.

The friendly interior and exterior of the new Logan certainly attracted new customers and are very interested in the owners of cars of the previous generation, who are ready to transfer to a more recent car that has retained the genes of its predecessor. Opinions were divided: some positively assessed the changes, others noted a drop in quality compared to the “first” Logan, including due to the relocation of production from Moscow (Renault Russia plant) to Togliatti, to AVTOVAZ.

FEATURES - ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

In addition to the front part of the body, convex rear arches suffer from "sandblasting". It is advisable to protect weak points in time with a protective film.

The quality of the paintwork is mediocre. The layer thickness is sufficient, but the durability is weak. Chips form quickly, and when abrasive polishing the body, it is very easy to break through the layer.

Occasionally, there were ridiculous assembly flaws on machines manufactured in 2014.
In some cars, the air conditioner drain pipe was incorrectly laid and water accumulated on the floor at the feet of the front passenger, in others, the door trims were installed incorrectly. There is a known case when the assemblers mixed up the brake lines that fit the ABS unit.

Quite often, low beam lamps and daytime running lights burn out. Servicemen have not yet figured out the reasons.

The only serious sore in the suspension is the low resource of the ball joints in the front levers.
Often they do not even cover 50,000 km. Balls cannot be changed separately, so you have to buy complete levers. Fortunately, they cost quite reasonable money.

The sore that migrated from the "first" Logan is weak steering tips. Often they have to be changed when the mileage is up to 50,000 km. Tie rods usually run twice as long. The rest of the steering is not a problem; malfunctions of the power steering pump and the steering mechanism (rack) are very rare.

Front and rear shock absorbers last a long time. Interestingly, on the second generation Logan, shock absorbers and springs from the first generation cars are suitable. These elements are different, but they fit freely into the seats. Some owners resort to such a replacement.

The rear suspension is almost forever. Silent blocks run for a long time, and there is nothing else to break there.

CV joint anthers often fog up and leak. Even if the fogging that appears stops progressing, this does not mean that you can forget about it. If the cause is not eliminated in time and the lubricant is not replenished, it will be necessary to change the corresponding CV joint, and sometimes the drive assembly.

According to servicemen, the original front brake pads have an unnecessarily harsh composition, and they quickly grind discs. Therefore, it is often necessary to change both consumables at the same time.

Door trims often rub the door panels down to metal, causing hot spots of corrosion. This is especially true for machines of the first years of production.

The steering wheel is subject to the greatest wear in the cabin. And this applies to all versions, regardless of modifications. Many owners manage to update it during the warranty period.

The manual transmission lever knob is also quickly overwritten.

If we close our eyes to the rapid abrasion of the steering wheel and gear knob (common sores in many cars, and not only in the budget segment), Logan's interior is doing well. The quality of the finishing materials corresponds to the class of the car, and they retain their presentation for a long time.
The salon is not very quiet. This is the fault of poor noise insulation and highly floating build quality at AVTOVAZ in the first years of production ("crickets"). Logans of the first generation, assembled at Moscow Avtoframos (now Renault Russia), had much fewer questions.

It was necessary to wait for the car for 3 months, but they brought it even earlier for a couple of weeks. When the car came, I found out an interesting moment - the cost of the car increased by 9 thousand. I read the fine print in the contract - it turned out that the price has the right to change. Disgusting, of course, but you won't find fault with it. Total paid 315t.r. Later, seat covers, a radio tape recorder and acoustics in the door were installed (from the factory there was "audio preparation" - wires to the radio tape recorder and in the front doors).
