UAZ Patriot in the military version. From "goat" to "hunter" New UAZ with military bridges

A machine with wheel gears or an ordinary "goat"?

When developing the terms of reference for the UAZ-469, the military demanded an independent suspension and wheel gears. Such a machine would be very complex. I had to stop at the dependent leaf spring suspension - simple and reliable. All all-terrain vehicles were going to be equipped with gear bridges, and the bridges were supposed to be mastered before the car itself. Alas, the first batch of new UAZs appeared at the end of 1972 with modernized GAZ-69 bridges. This modification received the designation UAZ-469B (in civilian life - UAZ-31512) and became the main one. The diseases that had passed from the old structure manifested themselves here in full - the mileage before repair was about 70 thousand km. But in order to achieve even this result, the condition of the bridge and gearbox had to be regularly monitored. The gear ratio of these bridges was 5.125.

Only in the late 80s did a modernized main pair with a gear ratio of 4.625 appear. The gear teeth have become "more impressive". Tests at the auto-range confirm that now the resource of "non-gear" bridges is not less than 200 thousand km.

The UAZ-469 (now 3151) model with internal gears left the assembly line in 1973. (Due to the design features of the axle and the kinematics of the steering drive and front suspension, they have never been used on the UAZ truck family.) It has no locks or other "miracles" in the transmission.

At first he went only to the army. Unloaded, thanks to wheel reducers, the main gear, a structurally fourfold safety margin (the large-module cutting of teeth is striking) made it possible to bring the mileage up to 300 thousand km. The gear ratio of the main pair is 5.38. Today, such a complete set is available to everyone.

What other advantages does a "UAZ" with final drives have? The increased ground clearance (from 220 to 300 mm) provides even higher flotation, especially on hard ruts and rocky ground. Good traction and dynamic qualities allow towing a trailer (or an implement), to overcome inclines with a steepness of 60%.
Axles with wheel reducers increase not only the ground clearance, but also the overall height of the vehicle by 55 mm, as well as the angles of entry and exit. The track of the gear axles is 8 mm wider.

However, on ordinary roads, a car with gear axles is more voracious (the control fuel consumption at a speed of 90 km / h is 17.2 liters for the UAZ-3151, on average a liter more than that of the "31512"). At a speed of 110 km / h, the engine of a car with conventional axles develops 3680 rpm, with geared axles - 4270 rpm. This is too much for the engine, and noise and vibrations increase in the car. Reducer axles (front weight - 145 kg, rear - 125) are heavier than usual (122 and 100 kg, respectively). Almost half a centner of extra unsprung masses - agree, a lot. With a geared front axle, the distance from the pivot axis to the wheel is almost twice as compared to a conventional axle, and the loads on the steering parts are higher.

One might get the impression that gear axles are only suitable for the military, for whom "the war will write off everything." It turns out that this is not the case. Cars with final drives are in steady "civilian" demand. Moreover, when a spring-loaded front suspension appeared on UAZs - and it "does not fit" with the gear axle, the plant was literally bombarded with reproaches. On the Bars model (ZR, 1998, No. 12), it was possible to combine the gear front axle with a spring suspension by widening the track.

So what should you choose? For many, a more difficult-to-maintain design may not pay off. For those who, regardless of the expense, subject their car to extreme loads, geared axles are an interesting alternative.

The demand for all-terrain vehicles in Russia is unlikely to decrease in the coming decades, therefore, the production in our country of not too expensive off-road vehicles designed for a wide range of off-road motorists is likely to continue - after all, demand always stimulates supply.

Among such domestic all-wheel drive vehicles, the recently updated old Niva BA3-21213, and her younger rival Chevrolet Niva, and, of course, the UAZ super-all-terrain vehicle, which has long been familiar not only to the inhabitants of Russia, but also to many other countries, are still popular. 469 (for some time now - UAZ-3151) nicknamed "goat".

With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, many Moscow enterprises were evacuated to the East. Among them was the Stalin Automobile Plant - ZiS.

In August 1941, in Ulyanovsk, on the banks of the Volga, the construction of ZiS assembly workshops began, and by July 1942 the assembly rate of ZiS-5 trucks was from 20 to 30 vehicles per day.

Since 1945, the plant began to assemble "one and a half" GAZ-AA, and then GAZ-MM, at the same time mastering the production of component parts and assemblies for these machines. And since 1950, serious work began on the technical preparation of the automobile plant for the production of a new army four-wheel drive passenger car GAZ-69 / GAZ-69A, designed and mastered in production at the Gorky Automobile Plant. The first serial all-terrain vehicles left the UAZ assembly shop in 1956.

It was assumed that the "sixty-ninths" will be produced by the plant for at least 15 years, but the UAZ design bureau under the leadership of Pyotr Muzyukin almost immediately began to develop an army SUV of the future.

The new car was supposed to be equipped with a 70-horsepower overhead valve engine with a displacement of 2.445 liters, a three-speed gearbox, wheel gears and a dependent leaf spring suspension. When designing, preference was given to geometric parameters that ensure cross-country ability - increased ground clearance, large-diameter wheels, as well as significant entry and exit angles, but at the same time they sometimes forgot about the flexibility of the engine, the optimal tire tread pattern and the traction parameters of the transmission.

The first experimental prototype of the new machine was demonstrated to representatives of the Ministry of Defense in the fall of 1960. The all-terrain vehicle was received by the customer, in general, favorably, but its clearance was recognized as insufficient. The most radical means of increasing it were wheel reducers, which made it possible to increase the ground clearance from 220 to 300 mm. At the same time, it was assumed that the civilian modification of the machine would be produced without wheel gears.

In 1961, tests of the army and civilian versions of the new SUV began, during which the all-terrain vehicles passed through Central Asia to the Pamir, then reached the Caspian Sea and returned to Ulyanovsk along the Volga. Further, in accordance with the remarks of the testers, changes were made to the design of the cars, and only in 1964 the jeeps passed state tests.

Serial production of cars that received the UAZ-469 and UAZ-469B indices began only in 1972. It is interesting that in China, where the documentation for the production of this army jeep was transferred, the Beijing BJ 212 (this name was given to the Chinese version of the "469th") began to be produced already in 1965. The Chinese SUV differed from the domestic one only in the design of the front part of the body.

The Ulyanovsk army off-road vehicles in the series were equipped with the same engine as the UAZ-452 light trucks - it was produced at the Ulyanovsk Engine Plant, and in design it differed little from that used for the GAZ-21 "Volga" cars. By the way, the UAZ-452 truck and the UAZ-469 jeep were unified in many areas - among them were the engine, a four-speed gearbox with synchronizers in the third and fourth gears, a two-speed transfer case and a disconnectable front axle.

When designing the army version of the jeep, non-standard technical solutions were also used - as already mentioned, to increase the ground clearance from 220 mm to 300 mm, wheel reducers with a gear ratio of 1.94 were used, which made it possible to make the main gear housing more compact by reducing its gear ratio with 5.125 to 2.77.

The main customer of the vehicle was the Ministry of Defense, therefore it was it that determined its technical characteristics. In particular, the tarpaulin awning in conjunction with the windshield reclining on the hood made the car suitable for transportation by air - by planes and helicopters. And no one was interested in the fact that because of this it was almost impossible to operate the car in the harsh Russian winters. And such "flying" "UAZs" from the considerable serial production of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant required only a few percent! For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that the prototype of the all-metal body was created by the plant back in 1967, but the forging and pressing equipment of UAZ did not allow molding large body panels. And for service and police "UAZ" cars, artisanal duralumin and steel roofs were riveted by workshops of various enterprises. Interestingly, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant itself was able to master the production of all-metal cars only in 1993 - 21 years after the launch of the UAZ-469 series!

In addition to jeeps, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant produced a number of civil and army low-tonnage off-road vehicles. Among them were a truck with an onboard platform UAZ-451 D and a van UAZ-451, the serial production of which was launched back in 1961.

The Ulyanovsk designers did not forget about the army all-terrain vehicles, developing all new, sometimes very interesting versions of the 469th. The most original of them was the UAZ-3907 floating car. The machine with two propellers, equipped with a 77-horsepower engine, reached speeds of up to 100 km / h on land, and up to 9 km / h on water. The car body, which had two sealed doors, could carry 7 people or 750 kg of cargo. Unfortunately, the amphibian was not mass-produced - such a universal vehicle was not envisaged in the plans of the Ministry of Defense.

In 1985, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of the Automotive Industry, a new system of indexing of cars produced by the plant was introduced at UAZ. So, the army UAZ-469 with final drives turned into the UAZ-3151, and the civilian UAZ-469B - into the UAZ-31512. In accordance with this system, cars equipped with new engines and other large units received additional index numbers that turned them into six-seven-digit ones, reminiscent of telephone numbers, which did not at all clarify the essence of the equipment for a particular car model.

The design of the vehicle UAZ-469 (UAZ-3151)

UAZ-469B and UAZ-469 are frame-type utility vehicles with an open four-door body, a removable tarpaulin awning and a folding tailgate. UAZ-469 differs from UAZ-469B in the presence of wheel gears and shielded electrical equipment.

The car's engine is a four-cylinder, carburetor, with a maximum power of 75 hp. at a crankshaft rotation speed of 4000 rpm. The gearbox is four-speed, with synchronizers in the third and fourth gears.

The transfer case is two-stage, with spur gears.

The steering gear is a pair of a globoid worm and a double ridge roller with a gear ratio of 20.3.

Front and rear suspension - on longitudinal semi-elliptic springs with double-acting hydraulic shock absorbers.

Brakes on all wheels are drum brakes with hydraulic drive. The parking brake is a transmission brake with a mechanical drive.

Electrical equipment - 12-volt.

The maximum speed of the vehicle is 100 km / h, the reference fuel consumption is 10.6 liters per 100 km at a speed of 30 km / h.

In recent years, "Kozlik" has undergone numerous modernizations in accordance with the requests of civilian consumers. The fact is that today the Ministry of Defense no longer acts as the main customer and cannot dictate to the plant its requirements for the design of the jeep. To please the buyer, the designers created a warm all-metal body with an effective heater, comfortable seats, a modern soft suspension with springs (front) and low-leaf springs (rear), and a fine-modular low-noise transfer case, and a power steering, and also hid the one protruding above the panel. devices electric motor of the wiper drive ... The creation of all this was largely facilitated by the development of fundamentally new models SIMBIR and PATRIOT with completely new component units, which eventually migrated to the good old 469th.

The model, called UAZ HUNTER (from English - hunter), outwardly differs little from the "goat", although it was created on a new platform. In addition, the number of imported components in the design of the machine has sharply increased.

The Okhotnik is equipped with new self-produced Spicer continuous axles, modern Birfield CV joints on the front wheels with twice the resource than the previous ones, a new, more convenient in operation, fine-modular helical transfer case - its noise level compared to a classic spur reduced by 8 - 10 decibels, and the connection of the front axle and low gear is now done not with two, but with one lever. The gearbox has also changed - it has become a five-speed one. In addition, HUNTER was equipped with a power steering, a diaphragm-type LUK clutch, front disc brakes and a front spring suspension.

At first, HUNTER was produced with one of two engines - either with a new injection 140-horsepower 16-valve gasoline displacement of 2.7 liters with an exhaust gas neutralizer, or the Polish 86-horsepower Andoria turbodiesel with a displacement of 2.4 liters. Well, for the army, police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the car is equipped with a simpler and more unpretentious carburetor engine.

The engine cooling system has received a new aluminum radiator with increased efficiency.

Outwardly, the "Okhotnik" differs from the "Goat" in safer plastic bumpers, sliding glass in the side windows (by the way, the car doors received a double seal) and a hinged rear door. As for the interior, there are enough differences from the interior of the 469th - more comfortable seats, fabric door trim and a plastic dashboard. UAZ HUNTER has already earned quite a friendly assessment from both off-road extreme lovers and adherents of asphalt tracks. The car behaves perfectly both at the speeds at which the "Kozlik" began to justify its nickname, and in deep ruts when the downshift is engaged. This means that the "Okhotnik" will certainly share its merits with its well-deserved predecessor - the UAZ-469 army all-terrain vehicle, which is still being produced - UAZ-3151.

Starting in 2015, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began the production and release of new Patriot SUVs designed to serve in the military ranks of the Russian army. The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has long shown the effectiveness of its cars, so an order was received from the Russian Ministry of Defense for the production of a modern unit for the military. Ulyanovsk engineers, without hesitation, transformed the modern UAZ-3163 Patriot SUV into a military vehicle.

Before resorting to the production of a military off-road vehicle, a number of tests were carried out in which our hero of the program did not fall on his face in the mud, and did not disappoint his founders. Let's take a closer look at what types of testing the UAZ Patriot was subjected to in order to get approval for the production of a military vehicle.

The first test option is to test the vehicle for off-road speed. The thirteen-ton APC and the UAZ Patriot Sport SUV were taken to the ring, which was presented as a training ground with terrible off-road conditions. For an APC, this kind of off-road is not a novelty, and it overcomes it with a bang, but here's how the UAZ-3163 will behave in such conditions and will it be able to overtake the APC? Many participants of the race simply did not believe in success for the Patriot, but everything turned out well.

In off-road conditions, there is no equal rival for the armored personnel carrier, except for the GAZ-66 car. The distance, which was planned to overcome the two heavy units, was 200 meters of terrible off-road. The start was announced, and the APC and the UAZ Patriot started dusting from under the wheels. Of course, the UAZ-3163 bypassed the military armored vehicle, but the time difference was no more than 2 seconds. If the track were 0.5 km longer, the UAZ Patriot SUV could have been left behind, but in this test the UAZ is at its best. He coped with the obstacles quite aesthetically and did not give a chance that he would not be able to act as a military vehicle in the ranks of the Russian troops.

The second version of the test was due to the possibility of towing a 13-ton armored personnel carrier. Such a test cast into doubt even the manufacturers of this unit themselves, but the Patriot coped with the armored personnel carrier perfectly.

Not only was the armored personnel carrier moved from its place, but the SUV also dragged it a certain number of meters. This added another plus to the advantages of the domestic unit.

More details about how the tests of the UAZ-3163 SUV took place can be seen from the video below.

Technical features

The military modification is based on the all-wheel drive vehicle UAZ Patriot. This vehicle is equipped with an all-metal body with a frame and is designed primarily for use in harsh off-road conditions.

Such a car is equipped with a ZMZ-409 engine from the Zavolzhsky plant, and is also equipped with Spicer bridges, which give 100% cross-country ability to an SUV. Among other things, this is the first military vehicle in which you can experience comfort and pleasant sensations from movement. The car easily overcomes off-road, copes well with obstacles and, with additional uniforms, can be fully used as a military or police officer of the law.

Special version modifications

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant presented 4 modifications of the SUV in a new look:

  • An army cargo-and-passenger version of the UAZ-3163.
  • A patrol car for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia called UAZ-3163-015 AP.
  • Armored vehicles based on UAZ-3163 vehicles.
  • Emergency rescue vehicles for the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Traveling on UAZ off-road vehicles have long been popular. And for good reason! Such trips allow you to independently choose the route, travel speed and stop times, and also significantly save the family budget.

Ulyanovsk cars have a lot of advantages over their competitors, among which are:

  • Roominess. All UAZ SUVs have a spacious interior and trunk, in which you can successfully accommodate everything you need.
  • Self-repair capability and easy parts purchase. When traveling across Russia, you will always find a store that sells spare parts for the repair of your vehicle. Any auto repair shop will be happy to meet you, and the repair of your combat UAZ will not keep you waiting long.
  • Passability. UAZ SUVs are famous for their cross-country ability, which becomes even greater when replacing the collective farm bridge with military bridge(the spicer can be replaced with gear axles from UAZ Bars).

Benefits of a military bridge for long journeys

Among the advantages of SUVs with are:

  • Increased ground clearance. It makes the car more passable, pits and bumps become less terrible for it.
  • Passability. The SUV easily overcomes obstacles, any angles become "on the shoulder". Even if one wheel enters the pit with one wheel, the car will not have any problems with leaving.

Preparatory moments for UAZ

Do not forget to undergo technical inspection of the vehicle before driving. Professionals will be able to identify weak points and refine the flaws. If you wish, you can fix the damage yourself.

For a long trip, be sure to prepare an emergency kit, possible spare parts (a set of parts for replacing a wheel bearing and a fungus, it is advisable to take reinforced fungi).

Technical preparation of the UAZ vehicle

To travel by car with military bridges, you should think in advance about the possible difficulties of the route and overcoming off-road. It is better to prepare for such surprises in advance.

For a relaxing trip, you should pay attention to such details as:

  1. Bumper... Decide what is best for you: the installation that protects the regular bumper. Most UAZ vehicles are equipped with plastic bumpers as standard. They are very fragile and can be damaged by a minor collision. It can be a small scratch or a large crack or chip. Replacing the standard version with a strengthened model will save you from such problems, but will make the car heavier and reduce its maneuverability.
  2. Wheels... When the factory model of the SUV is sold, they are equipped with wheels of 31 diameters, this size is suitable only for driving on city roads, and it does not paint the exterior of the car at all. For driving on difficult tracks and the possibility of crossing water obstacles, you should pay attention to the wheel diameter slightly larger (36-38).
  3. Snorkel... Such a device will make it safe to overcome deep water obstacles. It protects the vehicle engine from water and dirt ingress. The air intake is a pipe that runs along the body of the vehicle to the top of its windshield.
  4. Suspension... If you need to overcome serious obstacles, it is recommended to pay attention to the suspension. By strengthening the rear, you will increase the off-road vehicle's cargo handling capabilities. You can additionally install springs and replace the shock absorbers with reinforced models.
  5. Differential lock... Traveling over rough terrain in an SUV, sometimes you have to overcome difficult obstacles. To facilitate this process, you can additionally install an automatic differential lock on the rear axle, and an independent one on the front axle (forced lock). This will increase your chances of climbing a steep incline and handle one wheel spin.
  6. Additional lighting chandelier... Night trips, as well as stops in the forest, require good lighting. But at the same time, do not forget to calculate the power of the generator with the capacity of the battery.
  7. Winch will help out when falling into a pit or bog. You can choose both a model with an iron cable and a fabric one (synthetic, Kevlar). Synthetics, of course, are much better, lighter.
  8. Roof rack and ladder will increase the capacity of the car, as well as make it possible to transport bulky goods (boats, bicycles, spare wheel). A pleasant bonus will be the ability to install an awning near the car to relax in the shade.

Possible changes to the UAZ interior

For a long journey by car with a military bridge, it is not only necessary to refine the appearance of the vehicle, it is worth paying attention to, making it more comfortable for travel, given the not very high speed on the tracks. A more comfortable ride will be made by changing the following details:

  1. Tinted glass will make long-distance travel much more pleasant.
  2. If you are planning a trip to an area with a harsh cold climate, then you should take care of installing an additional heater.
  3. The navigator will facilitate the trip and take over all the duties of the navigator.
  4. Sleeping place. If you plan to spend the night in the car, then don't forget.

Instead of an afterword

Thus, a trip by an SUV can become much more pleasant and comfortable if you approach the issue of tuning a UAZ car thoughtfully and seriously. Even small improvements can save you a lot of problems. The entire range presented is available in the online store SpetsTuningUAZ.rf

Before talking about specific models of UAZ vehicles, developed or modified specifically for the army, it is worth saying that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, in general, in its activities was aimed at meeting the needs of the Ministry of Defense. UAZ civilian vehicles are, roughly speaking, a side effect, especially in Soviet times. In the conditions of a free market, the automaker had no choice but to rebuild capacities to meet the needs of "peaceful" customers. But even now, UAZ is actively cooperating with the state, supplying all-terrain vehicles for the army.

The history of the military UAZ began in the middle of the 20th century. First of all, the UAZ-469 and UAZ-3151 should be attributed to the army models of this car brand.

It was the UAZ-469 that, by the 70s of the 20th century, became the main car for the command in the countries of Eastern Europe that were part of the Warsaw Pact bloc. Before that, its predecessor in the mentioned role was GAZ-69.

In 1964, several experimental models were produced, on the basis of which the serial production of the UAZ-469 and UAZ-469B began in 1972. In 1985, they began to produce UAZ-3151. And since 2003, the UAZ-315195 Hunter has been produced, which in 2010, for the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was modernized and released in a limited series under the index 315196.

The history of the development of a military UAZ

It was noted above that the first prototypes of the UAZ-469 were produced in 1964. However, development began back in the 50s of the 20th century. The first sample, named UAZ-460, was designed in 1958. The American Jeep was apparently taken as a basis. The Soviet car turned out to be powerful, capable of transporting people and goods on off-road, as well as pulling trailers and light weapons. But the car could not boast of convenience and comfort.

In 1964, a trial batch of modified cars was released, named UAZ-469. By the way, in the automotive press, already next year, one could find an image of this car and learn about some of the technical characteristics. This is surprising, given the fact that the serial production of machines will begin only after 8 years.

The basis for the UAZ-469 of the 1972 model was the reliable and advanced 21st Volga for those years. The capabilities of UAZ amaze and surprise. For example, in 1974, several machines in the basic configuration, that is, without traction chains, winches and other things, were able to climb one of the Elbrus glaciers, to a height of 4.2 kilometers.

In 1985, an army SUV from the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began to be produced under the name UAZ-3151.

The history of the UAZ-469 ends at the beginning of the 21st century. In 2010, a limited batch of UAZ-315196 is produced, which has a power steering, spring suspension, disc front brakes, a 112-horsepower engine, Timken split axles. And already in 2011, this model disappears from the market, due to the fact that the specified batch of 5,000 cars is completely sold out. UAZ, in terms of army vehicles, begins to specialize in the Hunter Classic model.

Model 469 Specifications

The UAZ-469 model has a five-seater open body. In fact, it is a convertible. A soft tarpaulin awning is used as a roof, and 4 side doors have glazed extensions. The fifth rear door is used for loading luggage. In addition, there are folding seats in the rear compartment of the car, which can accommodate two more passengers. The windshield folds back onto the bonnet. Here you can remember the American "Willys", which, as well, can be folded back on the hood, in order to increase the camouflage of the car on the ground.

The frame of the model is very strong, not subject to twisting. The engine is a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter engine capable of delivering 75 horsepower and runs on gasoline. The clutch is single-plate. Gearbox - mechanical, 4-speed. There is a 2-step transfer case.

Since the car is designed for the army, 2 fuel tanks with a volume of 39 liters each are installed on it. If we take into account that the fuel consumption, on average, is 16 liters per 100 kilometers, then we can conclude that the manufacturer does not provide such a large fuel reserve. However, when carrying 7 passengers, the car can take on board 100 kilograms of luggage. That is, a few more cans will fit well. UAZ-469 can "drag along" a trailer weighing 850 kilograms.

Tests of UAZ 469

The ground clearance of the military model is 300 millimeters. To create such a clearance, the following was developed and implemented:

  • double final drive on driving axles. The engine crankcase is wide, but the vertical dimension is reduced.
  • reduction final drives.

The front axle hubs in this car model can be disabled to reduce fuel consumption if the car is driving on a good road. However, the decrease in consumption was insignificant, and to disconnect the hubs, it was necessary to perform several, albeit simple, but time-consuming manipulations.

By 1982, the car's power had increased by 2 horsepower, thanks to the installation of a new engine.

UAZ-3151

In 1985, the model 469 was modernized, the new car was named UAZ-3151.

The changes affected most components and assemblies. The clutch has received a hydraulic cut-off drive. Radial mechanical bearing seals appeared in cardan shafts. Lighting devices have been improved and supplemented. The windshield washer drive became electric. In addition, the following equipment appeared in the car:

  • two suspended pedals - clutch and brakes;
  • dual-circuit brakes;
  • safe steering column;

Engine power began to be 80 horsepower, which increased the maximum speed to 120 kilometers per hour.

Model modifications

In addition to those mentioned, there were other modifications of the domestic military UAZ off-road vehicles.

UAZ-469BI with shielded equipment and radio station. UAZ-469BG (UAZ-3152) - was used for military medical needs. UAZ-469РРХ - radio-chemical reconnaissance vehicle.

There were also non-serial modifications. For example, the UAZ-3907 Jaguar is an amphibious vehicle with installed propellers. The export version of the UAZ is Martorelli, on which, among other things, diesel engines from Fiat and Peugeot were installed.

Records

It is no secret that the Soviet auto industry, for its time, was at a very high level. And when it came to military development, here the factories of the Soviet Union were unsurpassed leaders.

So, the UAZ-469 model set a world record, indirectly confirming the high level of the car:

32 people with a total weight of 1.9 tons were able to fit into the UAZ-469. This event is included in the Guinness Book of Records. Prior to that, 23 people were able to fit into the Kia Spectra car.

  1. Among the people, UAZ-469 and its followers were nicknamed Kozlik and Bobik.
  2. In China, without cooperating with the USSR, they developed and released the Beijing car, which combines the chassis of the GAZ-69 and the body of the UAZ-469.
