Panel dismantling steps

Before you start tuning the dashboard on a VAZ, cover the seats with a blanket or an unnecessary cloth so as not to damage or stain them during disassembly. And so, we proceed to remove the panel. We dismantle the dashboard, for this we will perform the following actions:

• We remove the readings of the devices.
• We remove the shelf of the glove compartment.
• We unscrew the 4 nuts securing the panel to the engine compartment.
• We unscrew the screws.
• We remove the cable that regulates the position of the damper.

We remove the steering column, for this you need:

• Give four nuts that secure the column.
• Loosen the screw that secures the shaft to the gearbox.

Heating system assembly procedure

To assemble the case, we use a sealant and snap on the brackets. It is also better to assemble the air duct for blowing the glass using a sealant. Also a common problem when assembling the panel is the strong bending of the cables to control the damper. To solve this little nuisance, you can resort to changing the cable connection diagram.

1. The upper lever is the faucet of the heating system.

3. The lower lever is the oven air damper.

Then, for the next straightening of the cable, it is necessary to drill a hole in the air duct for heating the windshield, and pull the cable through it. After successfully connecting all the cables to the heater and the control unit, install the side air ducts. Usually, in this case, the right air duct is installed without much effort, but to install the left one will have to dismantle the steering column and pedal assembly. For deflectors, you need to buy seals or take from the VAZ-2101. After installing the air ducts, we return the pedal assembly and the column to their original position.

Installation

Before starting work, it is necessary to remove all unnecessary from the panel. If you have chosen the "five" dashboard for installation, then only one of the four main mounts will fit into place. Using metal strips, the center fasteners must be attached to the bracket.

For fastening on the right side, you need to drill holes in the bulkhead of the engine compartment and weld the stud, if it is not at hand, then a bolt of the corresponding diameter will do. Then you can use the mount left over from the VAZ-2101. This completes the tuning of the dashboard with your own hands, you just have to install the standard parts and devices in their place.
