Renault Koleos 2017 price

Options and prices

After organizing localized production of the Renault Koleos 2017 in a new body (photo), the configurations and prices will pleasantly surprise Russians. If for the model previous generation Korean assembly official dealers Renault in Moscow now asked for a minimum of 1,300,000 rubles, which is above the average level, then for those who moved to a larger class Renault Koleos 2017 the price of 1.7 million rubles no longer looks like an exaggeration. The Nissan X-Trail costs approximately the same (1,724,000 rubles) in a similar configuration, on the basis of which the Koleos with a new body is built. And if you take into account the fact that Renault is slightly larger than Nissan and has more rich equipment, the price of the new Koleos 2017 is one of best offers on the market among competitors with similar technical characteristics.

The favorable ratio of configurations and prices of the Renault Koleos in the new body is confirmed by the interior (photo), borrowed from the flagship Talisman sedan, which has already received a lot of flattering reviews. As a result interior decoration, in addition to high-quality finishing materials, has a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster, which displays a digital speedometer and an analogue tachometer. The classic hands now only have power reserve and coolant temperature indicators. Emphasize the status of the new Renault Koleos 2017 availability of a central touch display with a diagonal of 8.7 inches, panoramic roof, electric and ventilated seats, LED headlights, rear view camera, electric tailgate, remote start power unit, heated steering wheel and windshield.

Owner reviews have also been taken into account: now, for an additional payment to the price of Renault Koleos, an extensive list will be offered electronic assistants, among which are road sign reading systems, automatic braking and blind spot monitoring. In addition, it will be possible to order a premium Bose audio system with 12 speakers and three-dimensional sound. When saving in Russia exclusive configuration Initiale Paris, Koleos in a new body, like flagship sedan Talisman will receive a unique Amethyste Black metallic paint, nappa leather interior trim, pile floor mats and 19-in. wheel disks in original design.

Special mention deserves the presence of the branded Renault Koleos 2017 electronic system Multi-Sense, allowing through central touchscreen choose one of five modes that affect operation adaptive suspension, engine, transmission and steering. The originality of Multi-Sense lies in the fact that the Eco, Comfort, Neutral, Sport and Perso modes, among other things, change the climate control algorithm, engine sound and graphics dashboard. A pleasant bonus from the inclusion of the Multi-Sense electronic system in Renault price Koleos is a choice of several options for ambient interior lighting: red, purple, green, blue and white.

New body

With dimensions 4672 x 1843 x 1673 mm new body Renault Koleos (photo) has significantly exceeded the size of its predecessor, but the comparison with the same platform is even more important Nissan X-Trail, which is 32 mm shorter and 23 mm narrower. Moreover, despite the general modular platform CMF wheelbase The French model is also slightly larger than the Japanese donor - 2710 (+5) mm. Price similar changes at Renault Koleos resulted in a record distance between the front and rear seats, equal to 289 mm. The amount of space in terms of height and width of the cabin of the new body is also at the level best analogues in class. The same can be said about volume luggage compartment. The second generation crossover offers 542 liters with the rear seat folded down, which is one of best performance in the class, and 1690 liters with seats folded - absolute record for this segment.

The previous version of Koleos had a decent ground clearance of 206 mm and won a lot of positive feedback on test-drives outside the asphalt. On the model with the new body, its size has become even better. Technical Renault specifications Koleos 2017 declare 210 mm, which is fully consistent with the performance of the donor X-Trail with 210 mm ground clearance. The engine range and types of transmissions are similar to those used on Nissan. Gasoline engines are represented by units with a volume of 2 liters (144 hp) and 2.5 liters (171 hp). Diesel engine The 2.0 liter develops 177 horsepower. The gearboxes used are 6-speed manual and variator, and to transmit torque to rear axle used multi-plate clutch, equipped forced blocking. Such a high degree of unification with Nissan will significantly reduce the cost of production and, as a result, the final price of the Renault Koleos 2017 in the new body.

Start of sales in Russia

The initial start of sales of the second-generation model will take place in China, where production will be organized at the Dongfeng-Renault joint plant in Wuhan at the end of the year. Start Renault sales Koleos in Russia is scheduled for June 6, 2017. On French crossover With the new body, the role of Renault's flagship is assigned, so sales will begin in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Australia. In total, the geography of deliveries of the new Koleos will include 80 countries, and in addition Chinese factory, the South Korean enterprise Renault-Samsung is listed and, hopefully, the Russian production site within the framework of the AvtoVAZ alliance Renault-Nissan.

pros: big roomy crossover, low operating costs, long warranty, spacious salon(except for the ceiling height at the rear).

Minuses: CVT in all trim levels, no additional seats (despite its size, Renault Koleos only comes with five seats), relatively stiff suspension, tall passengers sitting in the back will be uncomfortable due to the low roof.

Main competitors: Peugeot 5008, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Qashqai, Toyota Highlander Jeep Renegade Mitsubishi Outlander, VW Tiguan, Mazda CX5, Skoda Kodiaq.

Even before the second generation, a test drive of the Renault Koleos crossover never looked so tempting and desirable for us. The Captur is currently the most popular crossover in its class in Europe and one of the most popular in Russia, and its big brother, the Koleos, has won a number of fans thanks to its low running costs and good warranty, that's all. But is this the only main advantage of this model? Let's find out with a video test drive review new Renault Koleos 2017!

If you need more space in a crossover, then, historically, you'll have to look to other brands, such as Kia with its seven-seat Sorento, Hyundai with its popular Santa Fe and Skoda with its impressively spacious Kodiaq. All this because Renault still hasn't joined the seven-seater fray - even Largus has.

Adopting styling cues from the Talisman and Megane, the Koleos has a more dominant stance than its smaller Captur and, thanks to Nissan's X-Trail underpinnings, the crossover can actually take on real SUVs on a test drive, unlike its direct rivals such as four-wheel drive Peugeot 5008.

Somewhat surprisingly, however, the so-called family-focused Koleos doesn't come with a seven-seat trim. Perhaps it is not enough to forgive him for this and the fact that, according to the results of test drives, Koleos showed itself to be a practical and well-equipped crossover.

Full test of Renault Koleos 2017 from the Big Test Drive

Despite the fact that Koleos is based on the Nissan X-Trail, during the test drive it still showed differences in character from its Japanese cousin. For starters, it feels firmer, so the ride - especially with the 19-inch wheels fitted - is downright unforgiving at times. In the city there are hints of gear crushing over potholes - small and frequent bumps make you a little angry during the test drive, but all this is not so unbearable. Unlike rivals, such as the Kodiaq, Koleos still behaves a little better on uneven surfaces, and if you previously drove the Koleos on a stiffer suspension before test driving, you won’t notice the difference - as the practice of test drives shows, you get used to the stiffness. And at the same time, so that you don’t really calm down, the car is also a little noisy.

The steering of the Renault Koleos on test drive makes it easy to maneuver around the city and perfectly settles into the seat on the motorway, so you can easily concentrate on your thoughts and drive with traffic. However, for a little more confidence along a winding road, an extra added feedback through the wheel rim, as well as more progressive weight control. Still enough for high crossover The weight of the car is relatively well controlled - it does not roll when cornering and does not pull out the steering wheel on bumps. And yet there is no doubt that the Mazda CX-5, for example, feels sharper.

Only three configurations are available for sale in Russia for Koleos, but all of them also come with three engines, respectively:

  • 2-liter petrol L4 with 145 hp;
  • 2.5-liter petrol with 170 hp;
  • 2-liter diesel engine with 177 hp.

Indeed, having test driven the more powerful 177bhp diesel with twin-coupling and CVT, we were a bit dissatisfied. It's lively enough when you're on the gas, but if you're trying to pass someone on the highway, you'll still need a surprisingly large amount of clearance. oncoming lane to make the maneuver safely.

It's all the fault of the variator. Most of the car's vagaries on the road against agility are the indecisiveness of the gearbox and its dullness. We hope that in the next test drive Renault will add a normal automatic as an alternative.

When you accelerate, a slight vibration is felt (note that the test drive was a fairly new Renault Koleos) through the pedals and steering wheel while on the highway road noise is pronounced, combined with the flutter of wind noise from the large outside mirrors.

First test drive of Renault Koleos from the magazine "Behind the Wheel"

Inside the Renault Koleos, everything looks quite smart and interesting. You get the usual materials worthy mid-size crossover with a soft touch on the top of the dash and doors, but these are nice colors, unlike many of Koleos' competitors, including faux leather with stitching, nice lighting and wood inlays that provide excellent internal view cars.

In front of you during your test drive will be a configurable digital instrument panel, standard on all models. For the most part, the bulk of the dashboard is well laid out, with most switches easy to reach, but the climate control functions controlled via the infotainment screen can be a little difficult to reach when constantly changing them.

For drivers of most body types, all adjustments have the ability to comfortably adjust the position.

Visibility is excellent, but the thick A-pillars can obscure small sections of the road. Wide rear pillars and the small windows in the rear third of the body also make it difficult to clearly see the surrounding area from the rear. Fortunately, all versions come with electronics to alleviate these shortcomings, including front and rear sensors parking, camera rear view and blind spot monitoring.

You'll also find that the navigation and media systems in the Sorento, Santa Fe and Kodiaq are much more intuitive, with some Renault functions Koleos isn't easy to find in the many menu navigations, and it can be a little difficult to pick out commands.

Whatever screen size you have on Renault test drive Koleos, he will be well equipped. Each version comes with Tom Tom sat nav, DAB radio and Bluetooth, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone pairing - allowing you to control selected apps from your phone via the home screen.

Upgraded 13-speaker Bose sound system available in top-end configuration Renault Koleos. We found the sound to be a bit flat and one-dimensional, so it's not worth spending the extra money just for that.

Winter test drive of Renault Koleos and an overheated CVT from Clinkocar

There is a lot of space in Koleos and you have to be extremely tall to find a problem above your head or in front of your feet. The test drive showed that Koleos has a fairly wide interior, so you don’t need to have an intimate relationship with your partner sitting next to you on the back seat, unless, of course, you want to.

Storage options in the cabin are also plentiful, including a useful large glove box, trunk and two cup holders. central armrest. The door pockets are very convenient and spacious.

The rear leg feels great, so even if you're very tall and sitting directly behind an equally tall driver, you'll both be quite comfortable. But the ceiling height in the rear, unfortunately, is not so generous. The culprit here lies in the panoramic roof, which is standard on all versions, which reduces the space from head to roof to such an extent that if you are taller than two meters, then long test drive Koleosa off-road You may go a little bald from constant rubbing of your head against the fabric of the ceiling. Perhaps you will be reassured by the fact that if the passenger sitting next to you in the middle is equally tall, then he is even worse off, thanks to the raised middle seat, which is a shame for such a car, of course.

What does a car manufacturer do if the new model turns out to be frankly unsuccessful and shows disappointing sales results? In most cases, it quietly shuts down the project. But Reno decided to take a different path. The Koleos crossover, which had been in production since 2008 and was not in demand, decided to radically remake it rather than change it to new model. Let’s try to understand what came of this by taking a closer look at the 2017-2018 Renault Koleos.

Dimensions of the new Renault Koleos

The new Koleos is built on the same platform as the Nissan X-Trail - CMF. However, in size it surpassed both its Korean “brother” and its predecessor, produced until 2016. Car dimensions – 4672 x 1673 x 1873 mm, wheelbase length – 2705 mm, ground clearance – 210 mm.

The crossover's interior is quite spacious - its width at the widest point (at the level of the front passengers' elbows) reaches 1483 mm, and the height to the ceiling in the front row of seats in the middle position is 953 mm. The Koleos does not have a third row of seats, which is why it, of course, will not become a full-fledged competitor to the Skoda Kodiak and other 7-seater SUVs.

The trunk of the 2nd generation Koleos holds 538 liters. If you fold the backs rear seats, then its volume will increase to 1690 liters.

Design: Exterior and Interior

New Koleos 2017-2018 model year– flagship in model range Renault. Unlike its predecessor, which scared off potential buyers with its pronounced budget design, this car looks really interesting. It is made in a traditional European style, which compares favorably with the overly original Asian products that have flooded the market. Straight, simple lines, interesting visual solutions from Laurens van den Acker’s team (for example, non-standard design rear lights) And general impression power and reliability – that’s what Koleos looks like in 2017. Now no one will call him “scoliosis” or “hunchbacked,” as his predecessor was insultingly called on the Internet.

Photos of Renault Koleos 2017

The interior of the second generation Koleos immediately identifies it as a flagship. The French did not skimp on finishing materials: semi-matte chrome, high-quality plastic, leather upholstery - it looks quite solid. The crossover interior has everything you need for comfort - from 2-zone climate control to an 8.7-inch infotainment system screen and premium Bose audio systems® Surround.

Photos of salon and interior

To choose from Russian buyers Renault offers 8 color options for the Koleos body. Among them there are a couple of bright ones - blue and red chestnut. Leather interior can be made in 3 color options: black TITAN BLACK, gray PLATINIUM GRAY or brown SIENNA BROWN. Concerning rims, then they are 18 inches.

Engines and driving characteristics

In Russia, Renault Koleos 2017 is available with 3 engine options:

  • 2.0 l, gasoline, 144 hp. with an electronically controlled fuel injection system.
  • 2.5 l, gasoline, 171 hp. with the system direct injection fuel.
  • 2.0 l DCI, diesel, 177 hp with common rail direct fuel injection system.

All engines run on Euro5 fuel.

To our country Renault supplies only all-wheel drive version crossover (4x4), although in Europe it is also available with front-wheel drive. For all engines, only one transmission version is available - the CVT X-Tronic variator with an adaptive control algorithm.

Concerning dynamic characteristics, then the fastest diesel engine allows Koleos to reach 100 km/h when starting from a standstill in 9.5 seconds. Maximum speed crossover with the same engine – 201 km/h. For a car weighing more than 1,700 kg with not the most powerful power units, the performance is not that bad.

According to the manufacturer, Renault Koleos 2017-2018 in mixed mode consumes from 5.8 to 8.5 fuel, depending on the type and power of the engine.

Renault Koleos – classic modern crossover class above budget. It is unlikely to surprise a sophisticated car enthusiast with its equipment, but it also has everything necessary for the comfort of the driver and passengers. Here are just some of the equipment and functions of the French novelty:

Renault Koleos specifications and prices in Russia

In Russia, the new Koleos has been on sale since July 2017. The car is delivered to us from South Korea. Its localization is hardly worth expecting - this is not a mass model and it should be occupied production capacity, which are needed for the much more popular Logan, Duster or Kaptur, makes no sense.

Koleos 2nd generation costs from 1,699,000 to 2,169,000 rubles. The crossover is sold in only 2 trim levels: Executive and Premium. In Europe it is also more available in the luxurious Initial Paris version, but they are not going to sell it here.

The new Renault Koleos 2017 was tested like a handsome guy you meet “by his clothes”. The design is really good. I immediately want to walk around this crossover and sit inside. And we also traveled. Specifications Renault Koleos 2017 at the end of the article.

The new Renault Koleos 2017 is beautiful!

The design of the new Renault Koleos is fundamentally different from its predecessor and, in general, from other models of the brand in Russia. It is not controversial - it is definitely beautiful.

Renault has gone premium with the new Koleos.

Renault Koleos can be bought for its design. Or rather, want to buy. Desire will most likely stumble over price. At the minimum level of equipment, Koleos is priced at 1,749,000 rubles, and the tested car is offered for purchase for 2,059,000 rubles. The most expensive modification- diesel for 2,219,000 rubles.

On Russian market Renault Koleos is available with three engines: a 2.0 naturally aspirated petrol with 144 horsepower and 200 Nm or a 2.5-liter, also petrol, power unit at 171 hp and 233 Nm, or a two-liter turbodiesel with 177 horsepower and 380 Nm. Each of the engines is tailored for environmental standards Euro-5. Moreover, all new Koleos for Russia are all-wheel drive and have continuously variable transmission. CVT variator. In general, the units are already known from other cars. Not surprising, because Koleos is based on the Nissan X-trail.

Renault-Koleos: On the outside, the focus is on optics.

The Nissan X-Trail only vaguely resembles the sidewall, especially in the door area. Although there are some intricate touches here too: decorative molding with a false grille on the side wall in the style of a Range Rover.

The new Renault Koleos 2017 is a distinctive product, especially by Russian standards. We have Renault brand is perceived not even as middle class, but as economy class. Not surprising, since most of the brand’s sales are made by the simple Logan, Sandero and Duster.

The new Koleos is a car of a different order. The French themselves even present it as a premium project. In the Russian Renault model range, the new product looks especially interesting. Although in Europe they are executed in a similar style new Megane, Scenic and Latitude.

The car measures 4672 mm in length, 1673 in height, and 1843 in width. The stated ground clearance is an impressive 210 mm.

Compared to the exterior, the interior is rustic.

The finishing materials are mediocre - they don’t reach the premium feeling. For example, the “start-stop” button seems to have migrated here from the past. Its plastic is not hard enough...

It's already boring.

The most premium part of the cabin is the seats. They are incredibly aesthetic. How much does one headrest cost? And it’s comfortable to sit in them. Unless tall drivers may blame the short seat cushion.

Panel architecture is built around a central screen multimedia system, How on new Volvo XC90. But at Renault everything is made simpler.

The display is smaller than that of the Volvo XC90, the resolution is lower, and the menu layout is mediocre. Interface logic is a different story. Everything is collected here: setting the design of the instrument panel (it’s also electronic), setting the color decorative lighting salon, on-board computer, parking and driving assistance systems, tire pressure data, trip economy statistics, a multimedia block with sub-items of photos, videos, etc.... Phew... It’s easy to get confused, and changing something on the go is simply dangerous. Changing the volume of music is quite a task. For this purpose, the multimedia unit has touch buttons that are not easy to find.

The keys on the steering wheel are responsible for controlling sub-configurations of the instrument panel. Control of the volume, and indeed the audio system in general, is duplicated only on the remote control located under the steering wheel, and its implementation is in the Renault style: the buttons do not need to be pressed, but pushed away.

It is not clear how to forcefully change the direction of air. It was raining on the day of the test and I really wanted to warm my wet feet. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.

Climate control is also not obvious. It would seem that for this there are four natural buttons and two knobs, but all they offer is to direct air to the glass, direct air to the glass with maximum power, arrange recirculation throughout the cabin or turn on auto mode. The temperature is set by rotating the edges. But it is not clear how to forcefully change the direction of the air. It was raining on the day of the test and I really wanted to warm my wet feet. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.

You can find a comfortable driving position. But for tall people it will not be ideal.

The seat lowers, the angle of the backrest changes smoothly, but I would like more range of adjustment in the longitudinal direction. The range of movement of the steering column is not enough. It moves in both directions, but does so within a limited range. The visibility behind the wheel is slightly clouded. The most obvious complaint is the wide A-pillars, and the mirrors are also somewhat small, but once you roll into the car, you can definitely feel the dimensions, although there is no way anyone will be hiding behind the pillar.

All amenities for bespectacled people.

There is enough space in the second row to sit comfortably behind yourself if you are 195 cm tall.

An interesting ergonomic solution is the ceiling lining raised above the heads of the rear riders. As a result, you can’t touch the roof with your head, but the trim sticking out in front of your eyes doesn’t add space. Although in general it’s comfortable to ride on the back seat of Koleos. There is even a heated rear seat. True, for some reason its buttons are hidden at the end of the armrest.

The trunk in the minimum configuration is 538 liters.

Dynamics

2.5-liter gasoline engine with 171 hp. and 233 Nm does not have killer dynamics, and the chassis is tuned for comfort.

The new Koleos has an unusual character - melancholic. Although it would be more correct to expand on this definition.

The crossover drives calmly, slowly, relaxed. If you don't lean on the accelerator on smooth asphalt, an atmosphere of peace reigns in the cabin. Quiet, smooth, comfortable. On a broken surface, the sound from the suspension operation penetrates into the cabin, while the ride remains smooth, it is the acoustic accompaniment of the suspension operation that causes discomfort, and the smooth ride is still relaxing. Speed bumps simply disappear into the chassis.

Renault-Koleos-2017 absorbs bumps perfectly.

The whole image is destroyed if you drive actively. Gas to the floor, engine speed to the sky, but acceleration is minimal. But there was a sound - the vacuum cleaner was choking on some object. Dynamic driving is clearly not about Koleos.

Correlating moderate dynamics with the level of comfort, let's see what the portrait of the Koleos buyer is.

The new Renault Koleos 2017 will be bought by a person who is already indifferent to rollicking acceleration, but at the same time demanding of comfort, and also wants to drive rare car not like everyone else, without much loss in practicality. Yes, he still has to be a little in love with her not to notice the inflated price tag.
