Structurally, the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 transmission is not much different from its predecessor. All-wheel drive is left constant. But if on the "weave" the center differential was free and distributed the torque between the axles equally, then the TLC 200 has a Torsen self-locking differential with a torque distribution between the axles with a ratio of 40/60 in favor of the rear wheels.

The manual gearboxes, as well as the transfer case, have practically not undergone any changes. But the "automatic machines" on the "two hundred" received the ability to manually switch.

Three engines are offered for the TLC 200: petrol 4 and 4.7 liters, as well as a 4.5 liter diesel. The four-liter engine is a six-cylinder V-shaped, and the other two are V-shaped "eights".

The largest motor is aggregated only with a five-speed "automatic", and the other two can be both with "mechanics" and with automatic transmission. For the American market, another engine is offered - a V-shaped "eight" with a volume of 5.7 liters. A similar engine is also installed on the Lexus LX570.

Toyota Land Cruiser 100 was also equipped with three engines: a 4.2 liter diesel engine and 4.5 and 4.7 liter petrol engines. The diesel engine had three modifications: atmospheric and turbocharged with one or two turbines. The 4.5-liter inline-six gasoline engine was both injection and carburetor - these machines were supplied to some third world countries.

The flagship modification of the "weave", bearing the designation VX, was equipped with a V-shaped "eight" with a volume of 4.7 liters. This engine was equipped exclusively with a five-speed "automatic". According to the manufacturer's regulations, the owner of a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 must visit a service center every 10 thousand kilometers to undergo maintenance.

The key for Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is a key fob, which is associated with the vehicle access system. This system allows you to open the car door and start the engine without removing the key from your pocket. The new off-road Toyota, alas, does not have a solid front axle. But in the basic configuration, the Land Cruiser 200 GX has an electric winch. Other features of the model include a reinforced suspension, designed for long-term operation on bad roads and off them.

Land Cruiser 200 is a solid car, you feel protected, good visibility, frame. The chassis swallows all the irregularities of the road before you get to the "washing machine". Road performance is lost along with the asphalt. The myth of permeability disappears immediately. Too much for the city, but not enough for the village. Starts slowly, 9 seconds, but hums like a steam locomotive. A lot of noise - little sense.

In general, I expected more. The seat is half leather, the rest is leatherette. For that kind of money, a modest interior trim, no curtains. Squeaks began after a month of operation, starting from the seats and ending with the back cover.

I can’t fully describe the car yet, there’s enough traction and power. I used Cruiser 100 about 5 years ago, so I don't remember how it was there. The suspension on the 200th does not rock the car. City consumption is slightly less than that of Ford Expedition. Ford had a 105 liter tank, 200 - 93 + 45.

The additional tank is located above the spare wheel, because of this, the spare wheel itself hangs a little even lower than the rear axle itself. The box is a good old A750 machine gun, which was installed on hundreds and LX470.

There are no parking sensors in front of the bumper, only on the sides. Heavy steering, but you get used to it quickly, not an option for a girl. Short seats, an additional pull-out section could be made. The quality of materials is noticeably weaker after the premium "German".
