The load-bearing body is spacious enough. The front suspension with McPherson front struts on the wishbones and the semi-dependent torsion bar rear are reinforced. The basic version of the Tiggo is considered to be front-wheel drive, but there is also an all-wheel drive version with an inter-axle electric coupling. All wheel disc brakes with ABS. The Tiggo T11 is equipped with licensed Mitsubishi engines: a 2.0-liter 4G63 with 125 hp. or a 2.4-liter 4G64 with 129 hp. with a manual 5-speed gearbox or "automatic" (on request). The interior of the Tiggo T11 (especially the dashboard) also definitely looks like the "original" RAV4, but the quality of materials and finishes clearly falls short of the original, although decent enough for its price category. The seating position of the driver, despite the possibility of seat height adjustment during long journeys, is not very comfortable. But both rear seats, which make up the rear seat (50:50), can not only be moved longitudinally and folded separately, but also removed from the cabin altogether, which greatly facilitates the transportation of bulky items and, perhaps, is the most practical (even in comparison with more famous classmates). The debut of the compact crossover Chery Tiggo (T11, Tiggo 3) in the Chinese market took place in the spring of 2005, and in December of the same year its sales began in Russia. In our country, the assembly of Tiggo is carried out in Kaliningrad at the Avtotor plant and in Novosibirsk (NAZ plant). The new Tiggo 5 and Tiggo 6 models were unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2007, with serial production scheduled to begin in 2008.

The maximum speed is 160 km / h for the model with a 1.6 liter engine, 175 km / h for the 2 liter and 2.4 liter versions, and 190 km / h (according to the manufacturer) for a car with a 1.8 liter engine. The first two motors are aggregated with both a 5MKPP and a 4-speed automatic; versions with 1.8 l and 1.6 l engines - only a manual transmission. In the Russian market, Tiggo is still only with a mechanical gearbox. The gearbox is done well - the gear shifting is quiet, even and clear, the gear lever is comfortable, little effort is required to change the gear.

Mitsubishi engines provide acceptable tractive effort at all revs, due to this, the dynamics of the Tiggo is quite decent. Their work deserves all praise, apart from some noise, which can be explained by insufficient noise isolation.

Most of the Tiggo modifications are equipped with only front-wheel drive, the full one is installed only with a 2.4 liter engine. In normal mode, the car is front-wheel drive, and when the wheels slip, the rear axle is automatically connected. The absence of locks, as well as of a downshift, limits the use of the machine on serious off-road conditions. Despite the fact that Tiggo is not a full-fledged jeep, most of the small obstacles are overcome without much difficulty. Stiffeners are visible only on the sides of the bonnet.

When looking at the sidewalls, the resemblance to the Japanese SUV no longer seems so obvious. The wheel arches do not protrude much to the sides, but they have a completely dimensional slot. Small disks are installed in them. Because of this, the overall image of the SUV spoils a little. Large wheels could also be used. The front roof pillars are decently overwhelmed. The sub-window level is almost the same everywhere. It is not very high, which means that visibility from the passenger compartment should be good. In this configuration, the Tigo seems to be a pretty decent vehicle. Unfortunately, not all systems are well debugged, so there are failures in their work.

At first glance, it is rather difficult to distinguish the "Chinese Tiggo" from the Toyota RAV4 of the second generation, and it is no secret that this car "borrowed a lot" from the "Japanese" ... but formally it turns out that "this is not a copy of the RAV4, but a completely independent product. “- the fact is that this car, like other representatives of the Chinese brand Chery, has officially earned the right to be considered as such: numerous litigations between the most famous automakers and a company from the PRC could not convince the courts of plagiarism from the Chinese side.

The car, in its "homeland", was presented in 2005 - almost immediately went on sale ... quite quickly reached Russia - where its production was established at the Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor" ... By 2008, along with a minor update of appearance, its production was moved to TagAZ - where it was produced until 2013.

The car in question is a classic five-door crossover with a 2.4-liter 130-horsepower petrol engine, a five-speed manual gearbox and, optionally, all-wheel drive ... all this in a decent package (two front airbags, ABS, EBD, power steering, adjustable steering wheel height, air conditioning , power accessories, heated front seats) and at an attractive price (at one time it was offered at a price of 16 thousand US dollars).

From the front you can see that Cherie Tiggo has something of her own (at least definitely not "Toyota"), but if you look for "the external resemblance of this car to the Japanese", then the visual memory hints not even at "RAV4", but rather at Honda CR-V (the hood overlooking the radiator grill, the grille itself with a horizontal stripe, the shape of the head optics is "100% front end of the popular Honda crossover").

But if you go around "Tiggo" around - then yes: I remember "RAV4": the same profile (the only differences are in the form of moldings and stampings), and recognizing the "Chery" in it from the back will be "the most difficult task": on the back door (on the left, under the handle), where the nameplates "Toyota" and "RAV4" should hang, the emblem "Chery" and the inscription "Tiggo" are stuck; the rear door and the spare wheel box are flat (and in Toyota they are embossed) ... That's all the difference!

The interior of this car, at first glance, is almost identical to the Toyota one: a center console in the shape of a light bulb, a similar three-spoke steering wheel, seat design and even a box-armrest. There is not much of its own (Chinese) here ... for example: three air conditioner mode switches are made in the form of gears (and not circles with knobs, as on Toyota), and the same white scales of three round instruments are illuminated by bright blue LEDs.

At first, nothing in the cabin is upsetting. The gaps may not be minimal, but at least the same size. Plastic, of course, is "not impressive" - ​​for the "Chinese" it is still tough and seems fragile.

For the Tiggo under consideration, the rear sofa turned out to be poorly fixed for some reason. It slides easily sideways and back and forth. The second problem is that it will not overtighten. The upholstery is very pleasant to the touch and folds ...

With comfort and ergonomics, Cherie Tiggo is all right. The front seats are very comfortable (they are soft, but in moderation), the dimensions of the cabin allow us to call it spacious - it is not inferior in size to the Toyota cabin: here they are identical. Even a tall driver doesn't have to push the front seat all the way to get comfortable.

But the steering range is tiny: the difference between the upper and lower positions is not particularly noticeable. Parts of the rear (separate) sofa move back and forth, and are also easily dismantled completely, which almost 1.5 times increases the volume of the trunk. Convenient and practical.

“Somewhere Honda, somewhere Toyota” - here you can argue, but under the hood - definitely Mitsubishi! The only thing that the creators of this car did not "copy", but "honestly exchanged for a big bag of yuan" is the 2.4-liter Mitsubishi "4G64" 130 hp engine. with. and a torque of 195 Nm, which left a good impression (unless you pay attention to its sound - at idle speed, the engine is not heard at all, but when you press the gas pedal, "the sound insulation disappears somewhere" - a jerky sawtooth rumble penetrates into the cabin ).

But "Tiggo" with such a unit is quite playful. Even though front-wheel drive would have made it even easier for him to accelerate. But it would not hurt to add a "shorter" steering rack to a good acceleration: turning the steering wheel 90 degrees to the right and left practically does not lead to a deviation from the straight course - you have to touch it with your hands even with an "ordinary" turn.

The gearbox is not bad. The five-speed "mechanics" is well suited to the 130-horsepower engine and is distinguished by high precision of work, as well as well-chosen gear ratios. None of the speeds "fly out", the effort to engage the first two gears does not differ from the others, and the metallic noise when shifting is reduced to a slight smooth knock - a signal of normal transmission operation.

By the way, although this car is considered an "urban SUV", it has been trained in some "off-road tricks": you can jump over a high curb or move onto uneven ground - it has enough clearance for this, as well as engine thrust.

But from the point of view of comfort - Cherie Tiggo still has room to grow - the suspension is quite stiff (which, in principle, does not affect the ride on smooth asphalt, but as soon as gaps appear in the surface, the situation under the wheels becomes audible and tangible). But everything has its advantages: for example, the almost complete absence of diagonal races and rolls.

If we talk about the price, then at one time it was one of the most affordable crossovers on the Russian market (and in a similar level of equipment it was “the most”), and in 2017 (on the secondary market of the Russian Federation) it can be purchased at a price of 200 ~ 350 thousand rubles (depending on the condition of a particular instance).

The updated Cherie Tiggo was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in spring 2012. In Ukraine, motorists were able to see the New Chery Tiggo with their own eyes in May 2012, the novelty was demonstrated as part of the 2012 SIA auto show held in Kiev.
