Restoration of silent blocks with polyurethane. Production of polyurethane silent blocks at home. What is needed for the manufacture of polyurethane silent blocks

Many car owners at one point are faced with the need to replace silent blocks. And it is not only the quality that affects this outcome. original elements, but also the quality of our "European" roads. The algorithm is simple: the worse the roadway, the less silent blocks live. Often, manufacturers provide a one-year warranty for them, but this applies to elements made of rubber. If we talk about polyurethane silent blocks, then the situation here is different and much more positive for motorists. In this case, you will forget about the problem of replacing these elements for a long time.

What are polyurethane bushings?

They are necessary in order to connect the suspension parts and dampen the vibrations that are transmitted between the nodes. In its simplest form, the silent block looks like two metal bushings with a pressed or glued element between them, which is made of rubber. When the suspension makes translational movements, the silent block is deformed, making it possible to move its elements. Therefore, the main function of silent blocks is to ensure the mobility of the suspension elements relative to each other and the body. But this is far from their only functional purpose.

The next possibility of silent blocks is to provide comfort. They protect car body from vibrations and noise during operation. This is achieved due to the presence of polyurethane layers with high elasticity and excellent vibration and noise insulation properties.

The influence of silent blocks on vehicle handling cannot be underestimated. That is why, striving for the best combination of comfort and handling, engineers use silent blocks with various types rubber, various shapes, with a composition of various materials and with reinforcement. Advantages of polyurethane silent blocks:

Strength. This limiting value of this material is significantly higher than that of rubber. Elastic elements made of polyurethane are not subject to destruction and withstand peak loads much better. Polyurethane silent blocks are firmly connected with metal parts with glue, which prevents them from tearing and peeling from each other under extreme loads.

Reliability. When severe deformation occurs, polyurethane retains its elastic properties much longer than rubber. Therefore, elements made of polyurethane, due to their elasticity, remain operational in a huge range of loads.

Durability. Residual deformations in polyurethane silent blocks are much lower than in rubber ones. Thanks to this, elements made of elastic polyurethane greatly prolong their performance.

High wear, moisture, petrol and oil resistance provides a long service life of elastic polyurethane elements even in the worst road and climatic conditions. In addition, the resource of such silent blocks is about 5 times higher than that of rubber ones.

What is needed for the manufacture of polyurethane silent blocks?

The quality of the material is tested before the start of production. For the production of a silent block, high quality steel and polyurethane are taken. The holder for the silent block is made of steel. In this case, powder casting steel is not used at all, and polyurethane must be especially strong and moderately hard. To ensure a high quality product, polyurethane with a hardness of 65 to 70 units is required, according to the Shore hardness method.

Manufacturing process of polyurethane bushings

The manufacturing process of polyurethane silent blocks takes much more time than rubber models. The technology and manufacturing scheme directly depends on the make and model of the car.

It is almost impossible to make a high-quality polyurethane silent block at home without special equipment and compliance with all technological requirements and nuances, as well as ensuring the correct dosage of all components with their further high-quality mixing. For the production of high-quality polyurethane silent blocks, special equipment is needed to ensure the further correct and high-quality dosage of all necessary components followed by their mixing. If all the necessary components are mixed using, for example, a perforator, a number of irreparable problems will arise, one of which is the appearance of bubbles on the product itself.

I'll throw my 5 cents on the topic. Once in winter at a temperature of -3, I decided to turn on the air conditioner as a preventive measure. After a few minutes of work from under the hood, the sound of a bleed compressed air. I opened it and smelled it was freon. Well, I thought it didn’t matter, it squeezed out somewhere, in the spring when it gets warmer I’ll vacuum it up, find a leak, eliminate it and fill it up ... It got warmer. The air conditioner blew, but very weakly. The upper tube was cool, and the lower one was hot, which the hand could not stand. Bypasses were heard in the evaporator in the cabin. It means that there is definitely not enough gas and all of it did not come out. I learned that there is a valve that relieves pressure and concluded that in winter, freon apparently did not evaporate well, it was created overpressure, which the valve threw off, throwing part of the freon out into the street. I came to a specialist in kondeya, he connected his pressure gauges and the first thing he said was that the freon pressure was very high. I looked at the engine cooling fan, it did not spin. Said he was the problem. I touched the impeller with my hand - there was no play, there was no jamming during rotation either. He pushed it with his hand - the fan turned, the freon pressure dropped. I tried turning off and restarting the engine - the fan was on. I experimented more: it happened that at start-up I tried to start rotation, but did not gain the necessary effort and stopped. In general, the conclusion was made that in winter the freon was discharged due to insufficient cooling air conditioning radiator and the fault is Carlson! I began to study the topic and was horrified: a) that it is hydraulic, b) that it costs inhumane money. Then I went the following way. I threw off the terminal from the temperature sensor - the propeller waved so that the car almost went like a snowmobile)))) Conclusion: it means that it is fundamentally working. By the way, after he worked like this for about 5 minutes and the terminal was again hoisted to its former place, when the engine was started, Carlson began to start up from time to time. If it didn’t start, then you could push it with your hand and it would start working. I made the following conclusions: the reasons can be either in the solenoid that controls the fan (wiring, plug, valve itself), or in the GURA system, from which the hydraulic module is powered. I sniffed the goo - it smelled of burning. Decided to change / flush. I bought Hi-Gear G7042R universal fluid for flushing and FEBI 08972 fluid for power steering refueling. Merged almost shoe polish. After such a replacement "Bingo"!!! The fan has been running smoothly! A/C is now filled and freezing. P.S. He pumped, adding liquid to the tank to the full, removed the terminal from the temperature sensor and started the engine, turning the steering wheel from lock to lock to pump both the power steering and the fan valve body.

I decided to raise this topic, which will be of interest to many ... I'll start with the fact that I have rest, mileage 70tkm, egr was in work, no chips. On a run of 55tkm, an inactive error on swirls 201 popped up ... And now, on a run of 70tkm, I decided to programmatically disable the egr, put plugs on the egr, clean the intake manifold and install an oil washer. And no chips! Withdrawal intake manifold more fun! But he removed it without touching the turbine, only unscrewed the upper metal pipe of the turbine. But for this I had to remove the wipers, frill and screen engine compartment, remove the low fuel pipes, return line and high pressure from the left ramp and two injectors, then we remove the entire wiring harness. Remove the left fuel rail. We unscrew all the bolts of the intake manifold and remove it. It took 3 liters of diesel and 4 cylinders of carb cleaner to clean the soot. Of the special tools, only a puller was needed to disconnect the low pressure fuel pipes. Of the pitfalls .... I was surprised that in the fuel line along low pressure there are plastic tees, and very thin! During this time, they dried up and turned to stone... just touched it and it all fell apart in my hands... Thanks to Andrey (Up6), as always he helped me out and sent me new pipes! I am attaching my photos to understand the “before” and “after” ... There was almost no dirt and slag on the valve stems. With the EGR disabled, the car drove a little better, according to the sensations ... but there is no direct wild difference, the black smoke practically disappeared during intensive acceleration. EGR disconnected from partners of the club. Sent the block, disconnected and sent back. The guys are working hard!

Chassis of most vehicles coming out of series production, for many years it has been equipped with silent blocks made of rubber or polyurethane. Usually, performance characteristics of these materials, a foregone conclusion. They inevitably wear out, leaving a niche for manufacturers to reproduce spare parts. Turning to a service restoration of levers, car owners come to the conclusion that most often restoration work comes down to replacing heavily worn silent blocks. We offer to make these parts in our production to order from rubber or polyurethane, whichever you prefer.

Benefits of switching to restoration

Today it is really a progressive trend in automotive mechanics. By ordering polyurethane silent blocks, or made of reinforced rubber You will receive a number of benefits that seriously affect quality characteristics pendants:

  • Soft suspension elements will last longer. The practice of using manufactured polyurethane or rubber parts allows you to operate the car up to next repair 3-4 times longer than on elements of store origin;
  • Extended term service silent blocks ensures the preservation of the geometric properties of the suspension as a whole. Driving safety directly depends on this. Restoration of silent blocks due to the manufacture of new, more reliable analogs in our production, it will give the car owner true driving comfort.
  • The use of polymers in vehicle connectors increases resistance to aggressive environments. Ordinary rubber liquids such as gasoline, road reagents, they simply corrode, the rubber that we use will not accept any reagent;
  • allows significant savings due to the reliable strengthening of significant vehicle components.

What types of polymers and rubbers are used to work in our production

We offer our customers the production of parts from two-component polyurethane (elastomer) of domestic and foreign manufacturers, or reinforced rubber. It all depends on what goals you pursue. Production of silent blocks to order it's complicated technical process, the result of which is the professionalism of our employees.
In our work we use reliable equipment, which can produce products without setting up a production line. All this is in the region of your residence in Moscow, so there is no need to order such parts at the factory, we will do everything during the repair process. Our equipment eliminates the "slips" of the center of the axis of the product, so that our spare parts have long life use.

A well-proven reinforced rubber, the material today is the basis for the production of stabilizer bushings, silent blocks for vehicle support pads, wear and tear and we have not seen it for 8 years. Replacement of silent blocks On new analogues, it allows to significantly reduce shock loads at the place of use, only a third of the directed energy is spent on the rebound, the rest is dissipated in the form of thermal energy. Therefore, spare parts made of polymers have excellent shock-absorbing properties.

Repair Economics

All car owners know firsthand that the maintenance of a vehicle often turns into a serious painful expense. This, not to mention the time during which you will be deprived of personal mobile transport. Order production of silent blocks in our production, and the removal of the installation from our partners and in a day you will receive a conceptual product, which is used by a large number of car owners. The manufacturing time of new parts can be from 1 to 5 days, which is due to the technology of manufacturing and subsequent processing of polymer compounds. As a result, you get a completely similar price spare part superior in characteristics to the rubber counterpart.

Of course you can do-it-yourself silent blocks restoration, but in this case, you will definitely ensure that the accuracy of the geometry of the part is not observed and, as a result, exclude the effectiveness of its use!

Polyurethane silent blocks play important role in the design of the car and other mechanisms, performing the functions of vibration dampers by deformation under mechanical loads. Rigid connection of all components and instant return to their original form is a consequence of the high density of these polymer products. Elastic materials protect the body from vibration and noise, and also increase driving comfort.
