Tigar winter tires. Tigar tires Tigar serbia

The Tigar brand (translated from the Serbian language it means "tiger") was invented by the founders of the company of the same name, which opened in the Serbian city of Pirot in 1935. For many years, this enterprise produced rubber products for a wide range of purposes, but did not manufacture tires. It was only in 1959 that a plant specialized in the production of wheel rubber was built and put into operation.

The new venture proved to be a success, and within five years the annual tire production reached 1.5 million units. The company supplied products not only to the domestic market, but also actively developed the export direction, constantly striving to master new sales regions.

In 1972, the company developed a technology for the production of radial tires, and immediately began their serial production. The company's success did not go unnoticed by the more well-known representatives of the tire market, and in 1974 Tigar entered into a partnership agreement with the American corporation BF Goodrich.

Michelin opens Tigar Tires tire plant in Serbia

This made it possible to carry out a comprehensive modernization of production facilities, as well as gain access to the latest technological solutions and developments. Thanks to this, the company was able to significantly improve the performance and quality of wheeled products. This led to a rapid growth in demand for Tiger tires not only in the domestic market, but also abroad, and created favorable conditions for the opening of its own representative office in the American Jacksonville (TIGAR-AMERICAS).

In 1997, the Tigar company agreed on a strategic partnership with another tire giant - the Michelin concern. As part of the joint implementation of several projects, the French side received the right to sell Tigar tires in the North American market, and Michelin's quality control systems were introduced at the production facilities of the Serbian company.

Since 2009, Tiger products have been supplied to the Russian market; official representative offices have been opened in a number of cities (Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, etc.). Besides Russia, tires are exported to more than 50 countries of the world.

Tigar tires are manufactured in Serbia. Translated into Russian it means "tiger". The brand's headquarters are located in Pirot. Tigar, which is owned by a holding joint stock company, produces winter tires and summer tires. They are used in cars, minibuses, light trucks.

The rubber company Tigar was founded in 1935. Since 1959, the production of automobile tires begins, and since 1972 - radial tires. In 1974, a cooperation agreement was signed with the American manufacturer of automotive tires BF Goodrich. This made it possible to modernize production facilities, enter the international market and open an American subsidiary in Jacksonville called TIGAR-AMERICAS.

As part of the development of a technical cooperation program with the largest tire manufacturers, a long-term agreement was signed in 1997 on the implementation of joint projects with the French brand MICHELIN. The global brand has been granted exclusive rights to supply TIGAR products to the North American markets.

Tigar is a Serbian tire manufacturer founded in 1935. The company produces budget tires for cars, crossovers and vans. In 1974, Tigar entered into cooperation with the American BFGoodrich, and in 1997 it merged with Michelin, which significantly increased the quality of the produced automobile rubber. Country producer of Tigar tires (Tigar) - Serbia.

Tigar is one of the most recognizable brands in Central Europe. Moreover, he owes his fame not only to tires, but also to shoes. Tigar wellies are handcrafted and popular with farmers, anglers and hikers.

Interesting Facts:

1. In its first 25 years, Tigar did not produce tires at all, remaining a tycoon in the local shoe market.

2. The Serbian factories Tigar also produce Riken, Kormoran and Taurus tires.

3.Tigar translated from Bosnian means "tiger". The predatory animal became the basis for the brand's logo.

Key dates:

1935 - Founding of Industrijska radionica Tigar or Przedsiębiorstwo Tigar,
1959 - opening of the first tire plant in Pirot
1972 - The first Tigar radial tires (model RD-201)
1973 - opening of a new plant for the production of bicycle and bicycle tires in Babusnice,
1978 - the beginning of cooperation with BFGoodrich;three years later, Tigar opens its US subsidiary,
1990 - Tigar establishes its representative office in Great Britain,
2005 - the debut of the company on the Belgrade Stock Exchange,
2007 - Michelin takes over the brand.

Today, under the Tigar brand, they produce several types of adhesives, sports equipment, polyurethane coatings and a whole lot of rubber products for the mining, shipbuilding, automotive and aviation industries. The scale of production is impressive, but it all started small. In 1935, Serbian businessman Dimitrije Mladenović co-founded a small workshop for the production of rubber boots for farmers.

History is silent as to why the firm used the Tigar trademark. But be that as it may, in ten years it has become a leading player in the domestic footwear market. Tigar saw market trends and quickly expanded its range. At the same time, the company closely monitored the quality and design of shoes so that it does not fade in comparison with European products.

The first Tigar tires

The debut on the tire market had to wait until 1959, when a full-fledged plant in the city of Pirot was launched. In the old location, Tigar has opened a new laboratory technology center. In 1972, the plant produced the first radial tires - the RD-201 model. Things were going well, so the tire workers thought about expanding their business and supplying their products outside the borders of the socialist bloc. This was facilitated by the partial liberalization of trade and the gradual penetration of foreign capital into Yugoslavia.

Tigar has chosen BFGoodrich, one of the leading tire manufacturers in the United States, as its strategic partner. The rapprochement was cautious, and only in 1978 did it end with the creation of a joint venture. In 1980, Josip Broz Tito, the party leader and head of Yugoslavia of those days, passed away. The economy became even freer, prompting Tigar to open an overseas subsidiary headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. BFGoodrich helped European tires gain a foothold in a new market. First of all, it was organizational support, although it was not without the exchange of know-how.

Tigar collaboration with Michelin

At home, Tigar also grew rapidly. In 1977, the company launched a plant in the village of Babushnitsa, where they produced bicycle tires. In the 1980s, Tigar built another facility that specialized in the production of cement and chemicals. The nineties brought economic instability to the Balkans, which resulted in civil war and the collapse of Yugoslavia. However, against the backdrop of a difficult political environment, Tigar managed to open another international office - this time in London.

At the end of the 20th century, Tigar ended its partnership with BFGoodrich and established contact with Michelin. Since 1997, the French have systematically bought up Tigar shares and completely acquired Serbian tire workers in 2010. Michelin's investment has only strengthened Tigar's position both domestically and in the European market. The Serbs expanded the offer and now export over 2.5 million tires annually. These are tires for cars, utility vehicles and trucks. Customers pay tribute to the company's rich history and consistently high quality.

Tigar company full name Tigar Tires has been a Michelin subsidiary since 2007 and is located in Serbia. Beginning of collaboration with Michelin from 1997 to that Tigar worked closely with another major tire giant, BFGoodrich, since 1974. Both companies have invested in the development of the enterprise. Overall, the Tigar plant in Pirot is one of the most modern factories complying with the ISO 9001 certificate. In addition, TIGAR has the European E2 homologation certificate. It should be noted that since the time of working with BFGoodrich, the plant was focused on the USA and Canada, the receiver retained the direction and gave the Tigar companies exclusive rights to supply products to the North American market. Since 2009, this brand has entered the Russian market as well. Tires developed for America and Europe, and even European production at budget prices, found their buyer in Russia. The plant begins to increase sales in 2009, it is about 4 million units. tires, then in 2011 - 6.5 million, 2012 - 8 million. And in 2013, Michelin confirmed that it plans to increase the production of Tigars and build additional capacities in Serbia, an agreement was signed with the President of Serbia and the planned capacity is 12 million pcs. by the end of 2016

Separately, it is worth highlighting the features of companies.

Tigar company with a long history, it was founded in 1935 as a rubber shoe company, and in 1959 its first tires were released.

Tires of this brand, being a subsidiary of Michelin, cannot sell more tires than the main brand, such as Nokian. Accordingly, tires are sold at a ratio of 4 to 1, which leads to an artificial shortage (although the situation may change for new capacities).

Also, Tigar has a small model range as well as the number of manufactured standard sizes.

The following models are available in the TIGAR summer tire line on the Russian market:

Sigura - 17 sizes, T speed index, 13-15 ”bore

Hitris - 15 sizes, speed index H, rim 14-16 "

Cargo Speed (for light trucks) - 11 standard sizes, speed index R, landing diameter 14 '' - 16 ''.

The following models are available in the TIGAR winter tire line on the Russian market:

Winter 1 (studless tire for mild European winters) - 17 standard sizes, speed index Q, T, H, bore diameter 13 '' - 16 ''

Sigura Stud (studded tire) - 8 standard sizes, speed index T, landing diameter 13 '' - 16 '' (the model appeared after the company came to Russia, and in America and Europe there are few places where studs can be used)

Cargo Speed Winter (studded tire for light trucks) - 8 standard sizes, speed index R, rim diameter 14 '' - 16 '' (also for Russia)

The Serbian company Tigar appeared relatively recently (however, even before the Second World War, and this already speaks volumes). The year of creation is 1935. The name of the company is translated from Serbian as "tiger", which, however, is quite easy to guess.

As is customary in a successful business (or rather, as is often the case with success stories), the company began producing car tires only in 1959. And today it is already part of such a famous group of companies as Michelin.

I must say that the brand's tires have a relatively low price, and due to this, they have gained steady popularity in fifty countries around the world. At the facilities of this brand, automobile tires for passenger cars, light trucks and minibuses are manufactured.

The history of development

The very first plant of the company, which was located in the Serbian city of Pirot (the territory of the former Yugoslavia), began its activity with the creation of various rubber products. Already in 1959, a new plant was put into operation, completely specialized for the manufacture of automobile tires. Today, more than 1.8 thousand people are constantly working at this plant.

Five years after launch, production reached 1.6 million tires per year. And today Tigar produces about four million tires a year and has the status of a holding joint-stock company.

The production of radial tires began at the company's factories in 1972. The most important milestone in the history of the brand was the conclusion of a technical cooperation contract in 1974 with the American tire manufacturer, BF Goodrich. It is thanks to the aforementioned agreement that a global modernization took place at the Tigrovsk factories, and the production of high-quality products was established, which today are in stable high demand around the world. Actually, this cooperation continues to this day, for example, in Jacksonville, a branch of the TIGAR-AMERICAS company was opened within its framework.

This, by the way, was not the last cooperation contract that the described brand signed. In 1997, the company also approved a long-term partnership with Michelin, with which it has implemented and is implementing various joint projects. Within the framework of this partnership, the plant Tigar switched to the use of a quality control system, which was adopted at the factories of Michelin itself, and was able to achieve the issuance of the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

In 1997, a new factory was opened, which produces cameras for cars - it is located in Babushnitsa.

Today the company still works as part of a group called Michelin, and has managed to achieve considerable success in creating tires that are close in quality to the ideal. At least when traveling on city roads. The company carefully monitors that the cost of their products is not overpriced, and absolutely all motorists who value reliability and quality can afford it.
